Match Rating Calculations Changed?

Just ran my first card with the release version of TNM7 SE utilizing several of the new official wrestler exports from the site here.  Something seemed different to me when I did so, but I'll let the results speak for themselves.  (This is my version of this weekend's HeAT, BTW)

Zach Gowen pinned Ric Flair after a moonsault bodyblock in 0:05:03.
Rating: ****

Ron Simmons pinned Shelton Benjamin after a spinebuster in 0:11:11.
Rating: **1/4

Rhyno pinned Sgt. Slaughter after a power bomb in 0:06:35.
Rating: 1/4*

Jeff Hardy pinned D'Lo Brown with the Swanton Bomb in 0:11:45.
Rating: ****1/4

Bill DeMott pinned Brock Lesnar with the No Joke in 0:12:53.
Rating: ***
Now maybe it's just me, but those ratings (especially Flair's 5 minute 4-star match against Gowen - Flair and Gowen both have workrate 85) seem to be a lot higher than they would have been in First Edition or the Beta.

I'm not saying that this is a terrible thing (ratings always seemed a bit on the low side to me, given ** as average), but I am curious as to whether or not there's been a change here.

Whether there is or not, if you've got a free moment would you mind briefly explaining how TNM comes up with match ratings, what factors are involved and how they're weighted, etc?

Thanks a bunch.  Going to run Velocity now.

I've noticed usually high ratings too...  in fact I just ran a match that went 4 stars with The Big Show & Bob Sapp!!!   :o

Glad to see I'm not the only person who noticed this.  Like I said, I'm not complaining or anything; before SE it was tough to get matches above ** unless you either had 2 workers with 90+ workrate or let the matches go on for the better part of an hour.

Then again, perhaps things are a touch high at this point.

The computing of ratings HAS changed but that was something that should have been done a long time ago.

Having 90 percent of all wrestlers hover between 85 and 100 is just bad thinking on everybody's part. I updated every single wrestler's workrate, push, charisma and stamina for 7SE.

For most wrestlers, the values went down considerably.

Hence, with the new average wrestler attributes, ratings were in the -** to DUD region for all but the very best.

I'd recommend bringing Bob Sapp's attributes to a realistic level of 50 workrate, 100 push, 95 charisma and 75 stamina and see how the Show/Sapp rating changes *g*

That's about what I figured.  Just making sure that I wasn't seeing things.  Thanks a bunch.
