Too many superstars...

TecmoNickPosted on 07/07/03 at 20:58:55

A problem I sometimes run into that other people do as well is having too many superstars in your circuit.

I am currently trying to think of wrestlers who are not big stars, but can put on a high quality match.  I just recently added Chris Candido and he is exactly the type of guy I'm looking for.  Any suggestions?

I'd recommend Brian Kendrick, Dean Malenko, Tajiri and  Ken Shamrock.

I'd add Al Snow to that list, as well as Doug Williams, Robbie Brookside and Super Crazy.

I'd chuck in Devon Storm and Jody Fleisch too.

EDIT: Yeah Oliver, NOW you praise Brookside after the way you screwed him over. >:( :P

I use Al Snow in almost every circuit I run.  I've tried Super Crazy a couple times...I just have trouble developing any real fueds with him.

Keep 'em coming...

May I suggest Lance Storm, Justin Credible, and Jerry Lynn?

Simon Diamond may not be the best wrestler in the world, but he puts ona decent match, and the interviews and angles pretty much write themselves, with the whole "Simon says" thing. (like making outlandish about his abilioty and stuff.  Also his current thing is "Simon has a problem!"  kinda like Lance Storm did in WCW  with "Can I be serious for a minute!"  Just an idea.

Use Messiah, Romeo Valentino, and Chris Hamrick.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Does anyone know a site where you can read transcripts of promos/interviews wrestlers have done.  This is probably just a dream, but I'd like to see how some of the indy wrestlers and lesser know stars cut a promo so I can use their characters correctly.

I'd love to see a site like that too.  Not knowing enough about how some stars act is what keeps me from using them even though I like the look and stats of them.  A site like that would help me big time too.

Or a site with pictures & stuff!  Even ages & birthyears would be great.  Like I want to start a fed in the mid 80's with the wrestlers of that time period, like no Brock Lesnar or The Rock.  Then have little mini leagues set in Mexico & Japan that run cards every so often.  Then in the 90's start another league.  Then go from there, aquiring wrestlers as I move through the years.  But maybe I'll skip on guys like Doink the Clown & Bastion Booger...  I want to make a website with all the leagues & have it just like real life.  Have stories about the leagues, who runs them & the feuds.  Even deaths outside the ring...  Perhaps when I get to present day I can start to add 2nd or 3rd Generation stars from past wrestlers.  Like say Andre the Giant didn't really die & had a child.  He would say be 18 in 2013 & ready to join wrestling like his father.  It would sort of be like Marvel Comic's "What If" type thing.  Like "What If" Vince McMahon never ran WWF & Stu Hart actually bought the league.  Maybe even have Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase trying to buy the league off Stu...  or have one of the leagues fold later down the road.  I want to get the insides & outsides of the league(s)/World of Wrestling in a FAKE "What If" type world.  Like people know the real story & bad blood between Shawn Michaels & Bret Hart, well in my league Bret & Shawn are best friends in the "What If" World just like Shawn & Nash are now in real life.  I'm even thinking of having like serious backstage brawls where wrestlers are fired for their actions, wrestlers die in the ring & feuds so big that New Jack guns down Duke Drose after a heated argument in the back MUHAHAHA!  But of course he goes to jail & I can't use him again.

My premise will be:

"WHAT IF"
wrestling had been different...
"WHAT IF"
Hulk Hogan hadn't beat The Iron Sheik for the title and Andre the Giant was still alive today?
"WHAT IF"....
Ted DiBiase was a real Millionaire and Jeff Jarrett actually had a hit country record?
"WHAT IF"
wrestling wasn't fake, it was real! (Like UFC)

These & many endless posibilities are all here, when you step inside the
"WHAT IF" World of Professional Wrestling

heh I got so caught up in my "What If" I forgot to finish....

Well pictures of Japanese, Mexican, Indy & past wrestlers would be awesome!  Like half the guys on the TNM database I have no idea who they are or what they look like.  I thought the Dudley Boys were actually brothers & were both black muscular guys, then they entered the WWF & I was shocked!  The Dudley Boys had held onto my world tag titles for exactly 1 year & 1 day!  I couldn't believe it when I actually saw them, it wasn't what I had pictured them being.  Same with the Headhunters I'm not really sure what they look like but I think there the big guys Jim Cornette brought out on Raw a few times along time ago.  Or I actually thought AJ Styles was an ex commentator from WCW, then I went to the TNA website...  haha (Yeah I didn't get much of WCW or anything else up here in Canada)
