A question about TNM 7 SE...

I know this has probably already been answered, but I don't wanna wade through hundreds of posts to find it.

Is this TNM FINALLY a Windows version and not DOS?  There is no mention in the specs I've seen so far, and I'm still concerned about the weak DOS in Windows XP.  TNM runs very slow on XP and shoppy.  Yes I DO have 6e.

Anyway, so any info?  Is it Windows?  Is it more compatible with XP's weak DOS?

No, it's not Windows based, it's still runs in DOS.

As for it's compatibility with XP, aside from figuring out how to get it to run full screen which Oliver helped me with, I haven't had a single problem.

I have Windows XP as well and TNM runs perfect for me with no problems.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but TNM 7 Second Edition is and remains a DOS program.

Converting the source code to Windows would require upwards of eight months of 9-to-5 work. It was more important to me to get the ball rolling with new features and iron out some of the wrinkles that TNM 7 had than to go the cosmetic route of offering nothing new just with a fancy interface that won't do things any better than the current one does.

Since when does XP have a "weak" DOS support?

I've never had a problem running the majority of DOS software in XP, aside to sound issues (Which isn't an issue in TNM as it has it's own sound support). VDMSound fixes most of the rest.

Everything else (for the most parts) either runs or can be patched to run or has Windows versions.

Heck, TNM has always run FASTER for me on an NT OS (2K/XP) than pure Dos or Win9x.
