What's your favoite PPV of all time in WWE/WCW/ECW
etc.

I always liked the Halloween Havoc cards put on by WCW and the SummerSlam Events from the WWF.

These two seemed to be the best of the year, even though they were not the 'Main' Events for the year.

ALWAYS an interesting event, none the less.

But if I had to pick one , it would be a tie

GAB 90 - Sting Vs Flair - Sting wins 1st NWA World Title

WrestleWar '91 - The Four Horsemen Vs  Sting, Brian Pillman &  Steiner Brothers - War Games

SuperBrawl II - Sting Vs Luger - Sting wins the WCW World Title

Since WWE isn't going to resurrect WCW anytime soon, they should use the Halloween Havoc name for their October PPV.  (They should've used Great American Bash for RAW's June PPV instead of Bad Blood).

WWE - Survivor Series 87, hands down.

WCW - When Worlds Collide... ok, so it was a AAA PPV but it was promoted by WCW on US PPV *g*

Survivor Series 87? Christ, I have NEVER seen anyone say that. It was a great PPV and all, but that's still a first.

Anyway, not to be predictable or anything, but Wrestlemania 17 was an obvious favourite. Asides from the top WM's, I'd then say Survivor Series 96. As far as WCW goes, dunno, possibly Spring Stampede 94.

Oh yeah, and my favourite ironic statement of the day goes to... "But if I had to pick one , it would be a tie".  ;)

There's always a first for everything :-)

I loved the concept of five vs five elimination match.

In particular the tag elimination contest and the ladies match with the Jumping Bomb Angels to this day are favorites of mine.

StarrCade '85
MookSmashPosted on 06/17/03 at 06:24:05

This will probably sound weird considering the old-school opinions of most but.......

Anarchy Rulz (the first one, '99 I believe)

Only because I attended the event with 4 good friends and felt like I was amonst a few hundred more.  ECW crowds had such comradere. (sp?)  Strangers mocked, cheered and laughed together at EVERYTHING.  Third Row seats helped too.

Best Sign Ever:
"Bischoff washed my windows"

He was on the outs with WCW over their lack of ratings.

I gotta go with Wrestlemania Three from the cool entrances to the great feuds this show was awesome and what a WrestleMania should be all about  JYD vs Harley Race, Hercules vs Billy Jack Haynes hell these guys had a great feud over the full nelson, Steamboat and Savage the original 5* match, Piper vs Adonis with the birth of Brutus the Barber following the death of The Dream Team,  and come on Hogan slammin Andre is like the most memorable Body Slam in history.

I have so many favorites. I would go for:

No Way Out 2001: The entire card was top notch all the way with two huge MotY classics.

FMW 12/99 PPV - FMW was on the "downside" with late Kodo Fuyuki (man, I miss him) booking but this is one of their better cards. Tanaka vs Fuyuki in 1300 volt cage match was worth seeing and Hayabusa and Mr. Gannosuke put on another classic to the feud a month after it hit the lowest point. Kuroda/Ooya vs Dreamer/Raven is good and the best Dreamer match he had in 13 months. The opener was surprisingly good consider the wrestlers in it: Ricky Fuji, Flying Kid Ichihara, a very green and former Japanese porn star Chocoball Mukai vs. Koji Nakagawa, Jado, and Gedo in a ladder match. This is PPV is a goody.

ECW Heatwave 98 and 99 - whenever Heatwave was on, both have produce good matches keeping you entertained from beginning to end.

I have to second the vote for WM 3 ;D I remeber watching the Ricky vs Savage match going crazy hoping Steamboat would win. Anyways if I had to pick one in the Ninty's it would have to be In Your House, Badd Blood. The first Hell in a Cell.

I totally agree ! Survivor Series 1987 was such a different concept and seeing Japanese women wrestle for the first time and stealing the show was just awesome.
My other favourite is WM 3 as it was shown live on SKY Channel and I stayed up until 4 in the morning. In addition, I still thought that wrestling was a shoot, so my emotional involvement was at its peak with Steamboat/Savage and Hogan/Andre.

Was IWA King of the Death Match a PPV? I dont think it was but that would be my choice. Not neccessarily for the violence but the elimination tournament idea has always been a favourite of mine. I'd class it as a PPV as many of us would have had to pay to get hold of a video of it!

King of the Ring 1993 would also be up there for much the same reason. Congrats to Bret Hart.

I should have added that it was IWA KOTDM 1995 I was praising....

"Look at this...he slammed him!" - Gorilla Monsoon :)

I'm gonna cast my vote for WrestleMania III as well. No ppv before it or after it has, in my opinion, even come close to the magic that encapsulated the Silverdome that night.

Here we are, some 16 years later, and that's STILL the WrestleMania which all others are judged.

I also loved The 1992 Royal Rumble. Probably the best talent ever featured in a Rumble, and the icing on the cake was Flair winning the championship.

My 2nd runner up for the WWF goes to WrestleMania 17. Outstanding, and only 2nd to WM3 for the best WM's ever.

WCW? I really enjoyed Starrcade '97, which was at the pinnacle of the nWo angle, it's just too bad that the bookers didn't realize that was the time to wind the storyline down.
