TNM.cnf????

Hey everybody, just wondering. I know that the TNM data files have certain stuff in it you can change around (for instance, the "OldStyleInterference=1" thing in TNM.cnf), and I was wondering what you all could do with those file(s) to change them around (adding, changing numbers, taking out, etc.) without doing any damage of course!

I would recommend against making any changes to this file yourself because it is critical to TNM 7's proper operation. All changes are to be made via the Options menu and via programs released for that very purpose such as TNM TweakCirc.

No offense but fooling with this file is about as good an idea as playing around with regedit.

Please do not add lines, change lines or shift around the order of lines manually. One small mistake could and most likely will end the fun.

Hey, that's all right. No offense taken. I just remember that certain stuff you could do w/the file. No big deal, and thanks for the help!

I understand what you're going for, but for those of us who like to play with regedit (let's face it: if you know what you're doing, you can fix lots of dumb little things that Windows does (or doesn't do)), we might start fooling with this, too.

I won't though. :P

That's all fine and good. Thing is, if somebody fools with TNM.CNF and it blows up, I'll be the first to know and to be asked to clean up the mess. And quite frankly, I'd like to avoid that.

There's not much you can do wrong if you change a 1 to a 0 or vice versa but everything beyond that should be left to the program, no matter how much you know about TNM and how long you've been using it ;-)

I particularly recommend not screwing around with it because TNM 7 Second Edition implements several features through switches in TNM.CNF. Tinkering with it now might prevent you from using TNM 7 Second Edition with the TNM you're currently running.

Thanks :-)
