On Ste Ad space

csimediaPosted on 04/08/03 at 20:01:30

Oliver,

I was wondering if you had ever considered selling ad space on te TNM website for those of us with legit "commercial" projects that we would like to attract attn. to? I imagine there wouldn't be much of a demand for it seeing as most of your clientel are most likely teens with limited income and / or private gamers however, solicitation on your site wold be very benficial to projects like mine who share the basic core audience.

If not the buying / selling of ad space, banner xchane would work.

THNX!

Considering the many typos in my last post, looks lke I'm in need of a new keyboard. A word to the wise: Those "cowboy killers" are also keyboard kilers. Looks like I won't be smoking around my new comp when it finally arives.

Yeah, I was just thinking "man, you know what TNM.com needs?  ADS!"  Yup.  Lots and lots of pop-ups, banners, etc.  Because the purpose of advertising is to serve the viewer, not fill YOUR pockets, right?

I believe Hayabusa has taken my post the wrong way. By "ads" I wasn't referring to the ussual internet garbage you see everyday. What I was referring to is the solicitation of legitimate products or services within the realm of the wrestling sim community that could benefit not only the company placing the ad but TNM as well.

CSInteractive will be launching a project of this manner very soon and it would be great to have TNM's support and vice versa. We are very entusiastic about what we are doing and feel like a project like ours will only serve to help revive interest in wrestling sims. I think Oliver would agree that the wrestling sims community could use a few more quality projects / products.

Ah, yes, I was thinking the same thing - that you wanted to target users for crap not that you were doing your own wrestler sim.

Oliver will be almost certaintly willing to add a link in the Links page (he's done that for other wrestling sims), but I dunno if he'd let "competition" advertise.

I'd suggest emailing him - copp@tnm7.com - rather than getting an answer here...

Thanks for your inquiry concerning ad space. During the new site's launch, the decision was made not to run any ads of any kind on this site.

I am a person that is tremendously annoyed by commercial advertisement on websites that want me as their customer. Losing one customer who is annoyed through banners loses me more money than a typical click-through ad generates per month.

Like Josh suggested, I would be glad to add your link to our links section, though.

All the best !

Don't worry guys, all is good in sim land. What we are doing, without going into great detail, is producing our hand to hand combat video game of sorts with a heavy dose of wrestling mixed in. Kinda like the UFC in it's early "outlaw" days back in the mid 90's. The concept is pretty simple, create your own combantant, log in to our server, make a challenge, and see how your creation fairs with other members. Once you think your warrior is ready, you can enter our weekly / monthly "prize fighting" tournaments. For something simular in nature, check out www.roboforge.net, they use robots but the basic premise is almost the same. Sound cool? For our sakes I sure hope so seeing as we've invested damn near everything we own into it! *lol*
