Do you still use entrance music?

Tom_ImpPosted on 03/04/03 at 07:27:01

This is assuming you ever used it in the first place mind you. I'm just wondering how many of you still make use of that feature in TNM.

I have roughly 100 themes saved and frankly TNM just isn't the same for me without the music. I tried and found I grew bored of using the program quicker than when I did have the themes enabled. I just love hearing it every time during the intros and right after the match. Makes it feel more like real wrestling instead of just text to me.

How about you?

Same for me, except I've got some 800 themes at my disposal.

i used a few but took to much space on the computer and half the time never worked so i said forget it and dont use it.

IM A JUNIOR MEMBER!!!  WOO HOO!!!! lol

Okay, here's another I should have included in the original post. Aside from themes, have you ever tried using entrance videos?

I did a couple of times, but it was kinda annoying that TNM would minimize back to the desktop in order to play the video and then you had to open it back up again. If it wasn't for that, I would use them all the time.

If you like hearing the themes like I do, then you would love watching the videos. It's really cool.

I don't use videos for the same reason I don't like to use MP3's - you get an annoying pop-up which won't stop, pause or go away until you do it manually (unlike WAV's which start and stop automatically without messing your TNM window up).

I always use entrance music because it adds so much flavor.

What MP3 Player are you using, 91 ? My WinAmp is closed automatically.

Media Player I think, but don't worry about finding a solution or anything - I'm perfectly happy using Wav's. They take up less hard drive space anyway.

? ! ? !

WAV's take up *LESS* space than MP3's? ! ? !

How in Funk's Name are you encoding your MP3's?
Oliver CoppPosted on 03/21/03 at 19:14:35

That's the exact same thing I've been wondering.

Muh? I download the MP3's, convert them to Wav's and lower the sound quality, easy.
CarlzillaPosted on 03/21/03 at 20:00:51

You know if you just change the quality of the mp3 without converting them to wav it takes up about 10 times less space than the wav file? MusicMatch Jukebox can convert mp3's to mp3 with a lower bitrate.

Can you? Well, if I use MP3's in TNM, it pops up the MP3 player and I can't get rid of it, so I'll leave it as is.
TiLoBrownPosted on 03/22/03 at 05:46:57

I use MP3s and just hit a key in TNM when I want the theme to stop, the winamp window goes away.
Tom_ImpPosted on 03/22/03 at 06:12:48

My problem with using MP3's and WinAmp is it closes the TNM screen in order to open the WinAmp program.
Part of the appeal of using the themes is reading the introduction as well. What's the sense in having it if TNM minimizes just to play the theme?

Touche, same problem here.

I can't use TNM without entrance themes  ;D ;D ;D

Anyone know where I can find a long/clear mp3 version of Earthquake/Natural Disasters?  :D

I fully agree with you but sadly, when a DOS app is run in full screen and a Windows app is launched (even if hidden), the DOS app will be minimized, no matter what.

BTW, I'm still on that d*!? export file, picking it apart manually ;-)
