A strange thing on TNM

Trance7500Posted on 03/07/03 at 21:40:56

This happened to me a while back, but I still recall it quite vividly.

I set a match on TNM with Sting/Dean Malenko, and Sting got the victory using his Scorption Deathlock and was awarded the victory, but even after the match ended, Sting refused to let go and the ref counted to 5 and then it said "The referee has reversed his decision" and DQ'd Sting and gave the victory to Malenko

It should be noted that I **did not** program that to happen, and has never happened since.

Does anything like that happen to anybody else, or was it a one-time quirk?

I don't think it's a one time quirk, it's just something that happens very rarely.  Just like it does in the real thing.  I mean before the Jeff Hardy/Chris Nowinski match two weeks ago, I couldn't remember the the last time the ref changing the decision after the match because of extensive abuse on the winners part post-match.

TNM surprises me a lot, too.  For the longest time I thought that the only kinda run ins you would have is a trip or a pulling down of the top rope.  Then I saw someone hit another person with a chair.  That was pretty cool, but I thought that was the furthest it went.  Then early this year, late last year, for the first time ever, I saw the wrestler throw his opponent outside and distract the ref, while another wrestler attacked the opponent and perform their finisher on them.

I was awestruck.  There could be more things in the game we haven't seen yet.

I have never seen a match reversed personally.  I have seen a lot of interference with the wrestler distracting the other but I have never seen the official reverse the call.  I like that.

It happens from time to time. Doesn't seem to matter if it's face or heel... Sometimes Wrestler A just WON'T LET GO. I've seen Bret Hart, Sting, and Taz get reversed so far (over a 2-3 year period)

Can't say I've ever seen that over the many years of having TNM7. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for it now.

I am pretty sure TNM has been able to do this for a long time, I think if I am not mistaken I remember seeing this in TNM6.13. I really didn't see it in TNM6.2plus and haven't seen it yet TNM7. So many subtle things make TNM the best.

I can't remember this finish, I do remember one instance where the referee stopped the match because one of the wrestlers was bleeding too profusily to continue....anyone else had this finish?

The only time I can recall that happening is during a First Blood match, but that doesn't really count since that is the whole idea of that type of match.

Speaking of, I've noticed that a lot of people that make exports don't bother to turn on the Juicing option on all the wrestlers. Whether it has ever happened or not in their career, everyone bleeds and nothing is more frustrating than setting up a First Blood match and then realizing one, or worse yet, both wrestlers are not checked to juice. The dumb match goes forever until the 10 hour draw mark.

Well, then, you're doing it wrong :) . Really, either the First Blood match should somehow be set to ignore the option, or if you're going to run such a match, you should ensure both of them have it turned on. I assume the point of the option is that those who have it turned on are those who blade from time to time, which is most assuredly not everybody. If it meant to include hardway juice, then it wouldn't even be there.
LillaThrillaPosted on 03/14/03 at 06:32:14

Yeah, the Juice box is set for blading only.  And some wrestlers don't blade, either cause of personal reasons or more often their gimmick.

Kane behind his hard mask, well almost anyone WITH a mask, Steve Austin <KIDDING!>...

I've been using TNM7 for well over a year now and I've not seen it.  And I've booked about 30000000000000 matches (most in one night, mind you).  It really does bug me about 'masked' wrestlers bleeding.  But then it's because I inadvertantely clicked Juicing instead of no-sell.

I haven't had the match decision reversed yet, but that does seem very interesting.  Good job, Copp.

I've seen wrestlers in masks blade, just watch some lucha libre, like Atlantis against Villano III at one of EMLL's first pay-per-views for one example.

Cheers,
