new Compiled Wish List (updated May 2010)

LillaThrillaPosted on 09/10/07 at 16:47:53

I realized that the previous thread listed as a Compiled Wish List wasn't complete and was a couple years old. So I went through the last couple pages of posts on this forum and tried to compile & sort everything. Here's what I've got so feel free to add to this or tell me if Oliver has said something can't be implimented or if it has been implimented and I missed it during my time away from TNM. :)

    TNM USER INTERFACE
  • Windows-based instead of DOS-based

    MOVES DATABASE
  • Updated moves database for the default TNM install
  • Remove/increase TNM's limit on max number of moves in the database.
  • Corner Moves: ability to have a Follows In Move, Move Out Of Corner, AND Counter Move in Corner for the same wrestler not just one.
  • Move Flag: move can only be done to an opponent in the corner
  • Move/Dive Flag: move can only be done from ring apron
  • Option to have moves in an Export replace moves in your existing database when you Import an Export (if possible)
  • Wrestler Must Be On His Knees/Sitting flag for where the move can be executed. For stuff like a kneeling headhutt, bullet dropkick, or Shining Wizard
  • Fixed Table Spots: If a wrestler tries to splash his opponent through a table they can move out of the way, but not if trying a suplex or powerbomb.  (Should be fixable by only allowing wrestlers to "move out of the way" of moves with "opponent must be on mat" checked.)

    MANAGERS
  • Manager charisma
  • Manager working-the-crowd strings

    TAG TEAMS
  • double team move database
  • more details for tag team finishers similiar to normal finishers (on mat or turnbuckle, outside ring?, weight limits, etc)
  • signalling for tag team finishers
  • tag team submission finishers
  • tag team finishers where wrestler A puts his opponent in a submission hold (ex: figure four) then wrestler B hits them with another move (ex: flying legdrop) while they are still in the hold
  • bookable tag finishers
  • tag teams Push stat
  • heel tag teams will

    MATCH BOOKING
  • Battle Royales can be set to end on the first elimination or when there are only a certain number of wrestlers left in the ring. This allows non-elimination matches featuring 5+ wrestlers. It also allows for like what TNA did where the last two wrestlers in the battle royale then have a regular match against each other.
  • If a spot is booked for later in the match, tables can still break when a move is done through them (as long it's not a Tables Match of course!)
  • Be able to book double DQs & double countouts
  • Wrestler can be booked to execute his opponent's finisher
  • Be able to space out a tournament over a card rather than having all the matches in the tournament run back-to-back.
  • Be able to book all matches in a tournament.
  • Finishers Match - pinfalls/submissions are only active from Finishers
  • Minimum & Maximum Match Time options i.e. some other way to force TNM to have a match last a certain amount of time (or close to it) to prevent things like 20 minute filler matches and 5 minute main events.
  • Lucha Tag Rules - as an default option for Circuits (set in TweakCirc the way you set all matches to default to 2/3 falls, etc) and of course can be set for individual matches (if a wrestler leaves the ring, one of their partners can come in and become the legal man)
  • Sortable databases - ability to sort moves by damage, wrestlers by push, etc
  • bookable Special Moves
  • bookable use of a foreign object (wrestler's signature foreign object, title belts, and/or objects from the Foreign Object database)
  • more options for selecting Mystery Wrestlers (sex, weight min/max, push min/max)
  • ability to book where a spot takes place in addition to when. Ex: outside the ring, off the ladder (in a ladder match), off the cage (in a cage match)
  • When you have scheduled a Tournament and are viewing the list of scheduled matches for a card, display more info (such as participants or first round matchups).
  • Bookable Match Duration: Book how long the match is supposed to last without specifying who will win.

    SPECIAL MATCHES
  • War Games options - ability to book who wins the coin toss and the order in which wrestlers on each team enter the match
  • Hell-in-a-Cell
  • TLC Match
  • true Last Man Standing Match - no pinfalls just 10 counts whenever either or both wrestlers are on the mat.
  • Ultimate X Match
  • King of the Mountain match
  • Gimmick Matches + Cage Matches work correctly (ex: no throwing the ref out of the ring in a Barbed Wire Cage Match)
  • When creating a Gimmick Match that requires a wrestler to put placed in an object, have a flag for whether or not the object has a lid (Casket Match vs Hog Pen match)
  • Match w/ Judges: match is decieded via judges decision. ability to set judges to face-biased, heel-biased, or neutral.
  • MMA Match (rounds, win via KO, TKO, submission, or judges decision)
  • Gauntlet: wrestler faces a series of opponents in consecutive matches. if he wins a match, he goes on to face the next opponent but if he loses the remaining matches in the gauntlet don't occur.
  • Ladder Matches with more than 1 wrestler, like Money In The Bank.  (Battle royale + ladder match + match ends on first "elimination"?)
  • Battle Royales with over the top rope eliminations: allow a wrestler (especially a large one) to be eliminated by multiple opponents and display this in the match results.
  • Battle Royale & Royal Rumbles Stats: How long a wrestler was in the ring and how many people they eliminated. Idea #1: in the match results display who lasted the longest, who eliminated the most people, how many people the winning wrestler eliminated, and how long the winning wrestler was in. Idea #2: Plugin to calculate this information for all wrestlers in the match.
  • Royal Rumbles: When a wrestler enters the match, display what entry number they are.
  • Random Gimmick Matches: When a tournament is booked to be a Random Gimmick Match, each match in the tournament is randomized.  Currently, one Ranom Gimmick Match will be selected and every match in that tournament will be the same type.

    PLUGINS
  • A new FCA Cubed-like plugin that is not buggy and can support singles, tag, 3-way, and 4-way matches.
  • A new Arena-like plugin that not only tells you what Arena the card is being held at and how many people are in attentance, but also gives you a rough estimate of how much money you make on ticket sales (buy telling the plugin how much the ticket cost), merchandise sales, etc.
  • Hometown Hero: If Arena plugin is used and the card takes place in a wrestler's hometown that wrestler recieves a bonus to their Push and Charisma for that card.

    CIRCUITS DATABASE
  • Circuit-Specific illegal moves. Be able to set piledrivers and inverted atomic drops to illegal in a lucha circuit but legal elsewhere
  • Strict Pushes On/Off as a Circuit-specific option
  • Don't Use List/Flag: ability to set wrestlers as "not available" within circuit. Not Available wrestlers can't show up as Mystery wrestlers (or be hired?) - prevents men in an all-women circuit, Owen Hart in a 2005 circuit, John Cena in a 1985 circuit, etc
  • Announce table located a ringside flag. If yes, wrestlers can use the announce table for spots. If no, announce table spots wont happen.
  • Ramp? Does the ring entrance have a WWF/WWE-style long metal ramp, one of the elevated ramps that lead all the way to the ring like WCW used in the early 90s and you still sometimes see in Japan or Mexico, or no ramp at all?
  • Jumbotron: Does your circuit have some kind of large screen like the Titantron over the entranceway?  If so, when someone not involved in the match interferes via distracting a wrestler they may appear on the jumbotron rather than actually coming to ringside.
  • Viewable wrestler injury history
  • Ability to hire a wrestler for as little as 1 card instead of the current minimum of 6 cards (without having to use TweakCirc to edit how many cards a wrestler is hired for)
  • Wrestler notes. like Circuit notes, but attached to specific wrestlers within a circuit.

    WRESTLER DATABASE + CIRCUITS DATABASE
  • Link wrestlers that are different gimmicks of the same wrestler. So if you have Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love in the same TNM you can't end up having them wrestle each other
  • Years Active & Circuit Current Year: if the Circuit's current year is outside the range of the wrestler's Years Active then they can't show up as a Mystery Opponent (or be hired?)

    WRESTLER DATABASE
  • Wrestler's foreign object details like it was a normal foreign object (damage, how used, etc)
  • Wrestler-specific counter moves
  • Underdog: wrestler does very few offensive moves compared to opponent but wins alot 'out of nowhere' (ex: Mikey Whipreck & Spike Dudley in ECW).
  • Intro Music Text Field: Add a field where the name of a wrestler's entrance music can be listed.  (Not everyone actually links all their wrestlers to actual music files.)
  • Option for seperate entrance and exit theme music (ex: Mankind - came out to one song but a different song played after the match if he won)

    CROWD CHANT EDITOR
  • Be able to edit Crowd Chants for Managers
  • Be able to edit Crowd Chants for Tag Teams
  • Be able to edit Crowd Chants for Stables

    SPECIAL MOVE WIZARD
  • be able to give wrestler specific names to Dives too

    FOREIGN OBJECTS
  • check box for "object always breaks when used" (ex: light tubes)

    TITLES
  • Freebird Rule: Tag titles can be defended by any 2 members of a stable

    REFEREES
  • Referee Database - refs can be edited & imported/exported like wrestlers, managers, etc.
  • Ref injuries & refs can bleed

    WHILE WATCHING A MATCH
  • Rush Finish option when watching a match. If you're watching a match and its going too long for your liking, the you can press a key to have rush the finish. They will skip ahead to the last booked spot or if you've just booked a winner then that wrestler will execute their finisher at the next possible opportunity and always win. Something like that.
  • Ability to change the following options mid-match (like WWE sometimes does): Time Limit to No Time Limit, DQs to No DQs, Countouts to No Countouts, regular match to Falls Count Anywhere.
  • Be able to sort all matches in a circuit or wrestler's history by Star Rating

    MISC
  • Heat Ratings - be able to sort from highest to lowest (or vice versa) when viewing Heat Rating in TweakCirc
  • "Parejas Increibles" - when a face & heel are on the same team together they may refuse a tag from or argue with their partner.
  • Replace Injured Wrestler option - if a wrestler is injured in a match, TNM will ask you how you want to handle it. You can have them replaced in their subsequent matches by another wrestler, have them wrestle with the injury, or have the matches canceled (or forfeited if in a tournament)
  • Dives can occasionally end matches, especially in Falls Count Anywhere matches.
  • triple team moves: stacked superplexes, triple diving headbutts, two wrestlers hold an opponent while a teammate dropkicks the opponent being held.
  • Corner Moves With Tables/Chairs: Wrestlers can put a table or chair in the corner of the ring and attempt certain moves to put their opponent through it (ex: spear, avalanche)
  • Managers can turn on the wrestler they manage.  Tag team partners can turn on each other.
King MunshunPosted on 09/10/07 at 16:55:32

Move Done As Series: be able to set a move that when the wrestler successfully executes it they will attempt to do it 3 times consecutively (ala Eddie's rolling vertical suplexes or Benoit's rolling Germans)
This is already in. In the two move combo, if you don't select a second move, the first move will automatically be performed three times.

tag team finishers where wrestler A puts his opponent in a submission hold (ex: figure four) then wrestler B hits them with another move (ex: flying legdrop) while they are still in the hold
I would think this would already be in it as well. The third option is two specific moves, right? Wrestler A puts opponent in a boston crab (for example) and Wrestler B does a legdrop. I think i've even got a few teams set up with finishers like this. You just can't assign a specific finisher name to the move combo.

Rush Finish option when watching a match.  If you're watching a match and its going too long for your liking, the you can press a key to have rush the finish.  They will skip ahead to the last booked spot or if you've just booked a winner then that wrestler will execute their finisher at the next possible opportunity and always win.  Something like that.
Also in it, just not as specific as you listed. Just push 'f' while watching a match and it'll go directly to the next pinfall (last if it's a 1 fall to a finish, next if it's a 10-count to a finish type match (i.e. death match)).

Also: For tag teams/stables, maybe add the long-standing request for Freebird Rules for stables and tag team titles?

a couple more spots to add:

    1. King Of The Mountain (reverse multiple person ladder match)
    2. a similar but better FCA Cubed type plugin (maybe this time contain three way and four way matches (both elimination and non-elimination style)
    3. a better Arena-like plugin that not only tells you what Arena the card is being held at and how many people are in attentance, but also gives you a rough estimate of how much money you make on ticket sales (buy telling the plugin how much the ticket cost), merchandise sales, etc.
    4. bra and panties matches-not

Woo!  I missed/forgot that had been implemented for SE. :)  Removed from list.

Unless it has been changed, this is technically possible yet doesn't quite work right.  Using the figure four -> flying legdrop combo I mentioned, you'd get this result:

Wrestler A executes a figure four leglock on Z.
Wrestler B executes a flying legdrop on Z.

First, I think this means Z could potentially roll away from the flying legdrop which he shouldn't - he should counter the figure four or else have no way to not be hit by the flying legdrop.  Second, it should say:

Wrestler A applies a figure four leglock on Z.
Wrestler B executes a flying legdrop on Z while he's still in the hold.

Problem: that only skips TO the end of the match, it doesn't speed the match itself up.  So if the match has gone 20 minutes and will end at 40 minutes, yes you can skip to the end at the 40 minute mark.  But my suggestion is to force the match to ending shortly after that 20 minute mark.

    Added.

On a related note, can singles titles be on the line in a tag team match now?  If not, I should add that to the list but it may have been implemented already.

    BULLYPosted on 09/10/07 at 23:11:47

    Second, it should say:

Wrestler A applies a figure four leglock on Z.
Wrestler B executes a flying legdrop on Z while he's still in the hold.
This is like the TNM equivalent of complaining that Helms' Shining Wizard isn't really a Shining Wizard.
    91Posted on 09/13/07 at 00:01:15

With the tournament thing, I take it we are taking into consideration the ability to spread matches over a card and book winners accordingly or use the "winner of match x" option etc etc, and we're just looking for, for the lack of a better term, the lazyboy route.
Mr. Ken KennedyPosted on 09/13/07 at 00:06:54

another suggestion is wrestler suspensions, and manager injuries! Oh, and worked injuries!
    C-R-P-L-SPosted on 09/13/07 at 00:36:13

Uh, how would wrestlers get suspended within TNM? You can do suspensions and worked injuries yourself.

Yeah, I still keep up hope for that, but I think Oliver always mentions it's just not possible with the current tournament code for single-elimination.

The suspension would be more like a plugin (it would probably come out as an injury)
King MunshunPosted on 09/14/07 at 12:18:51

Rather than start a new and useless thread, i'll just post some ideas here:

    Specific wrestler notes/biographies.
Same way you'd do circuit notes. In the Wrestlers screen, when you hit the '-' key, it brings up a brief descrip of the wrestler, listing his alignment, height, weight, build, finisher, styles, so on... What if there was a button at the bottom of this new window that said "Add Notes?" Clicking it would bring up a Notepad window where you can add things like "Hall of Fame Member, former member of [stable name here], winner of [special accolade here]." This way you could keep a better track of a specific wrestler's history. You could even add notes about Injuries and suspensions, stuff like that.

The ability to select a "leader" for a stable, if one is necessary, the same way you select stable managers now. This is kind of frivolous, but with the proper modifications to the stable AI, you could set up the "leader" to get preferential treatment, i.e. members of his stable would be more likely to run out and help him during a match, or throw him weapons.
    MATPosted on 09/15/07 at 12:45:52

I recently lost my TNM7 due to formatting (taught me a lesson in backing up, that's for sure) and was wondering is it worth re-downloading TNM7 now, or is there a planned update too TNM7 coming out that I wasn't aware of with some of this Wish List implemented?

There is no planned TNM7 update in the near or distant future, basically it's all up to when Mr. Copp has the time/inclination. If you liked TNM7 before and want to play it again, get it. If you want updates/upgrades, you'll be waiting a very long time.

Again, rather than start another useless thread for one idea:

How about the ability to add a temporary name for a tag team? Like, if you wanted to do a multiple-member Tag Team Elimination Match (say, for example, a Survivor Series match). Or, you were doing an inter-brand feud. Instead of having to make a whole stable of, for example, Team Raw or Team Smackdown, you could just book an elimination match, and then assign temp names to each team that wouldn't last beyond this match.

That's a good idea. Although when I have wanted to do this, I just create a stable for each team, and then delete the stable after I run the card.
    TrancePosted on 06/28/08 at 20:19:58

Here's an idea I kinda liked (works hand-in-hand with the Arena plugin)

Home-Town Hero: If a wrester is performing on his home turf, he/she automatically gets an extra 'push'

i suppose an easier way of doing it would be to just use the circuit editor, and edit the results of the match to say Team Suchnsuch (Member 1, Member 2) etc.
    LillaThrillaPosted on 05/26/10 at 20:54:51

FWIW, I've updated this list with a few things.  If you have suggestions not on the list, feel free to reply with what you'd like to see added.

I'm not expecting an annoucement for TNM 8 any time soon but I figure it's good to have a list around just in case.  Some of the options addressable with Plugins might even inspire someone to create them. :)
    MagicCityDawgPosted on 06/19/10 at 19:11:47

I posted this in another area, but I would like to see an update where you do not have to use a plug-in to have commentary for your shows. Perhaps something that can convert the match readouts into commentary as it would be done on TV. Also, while I am on my soapbox, it would be nice to have in game or a plug-in that would allow for direct posting on web sites for those who have them.
