Once again, I had to fool TNM7 into running my plug-in, as Oliver is a hard man to get a hold of.

It does however work very well, and I've been using it pretty regularly in my new fed.

I'm not really sure how well a tutorial on how to fool TNM7 into running unauthorized plug-ins would be received by Oliver, so I'm not going to do it.

But I have sent him a few e-mails asking about getting this stuff set up legit, so hopefully he'll respond soon. If anyone has any better way of contacting him besides copp@tnm7.com you should let me know.

Have you tried carrier pigeon?
CarlzillaPosted on 02/01/09 at 00:36:24

It was intercepted just seconds after take-off by one of the hundreds of evil spam bots residing on the board. :( poor little birdie.

Will this plugin also require a version of the .NET Framework?  :-
JustinPossiblePosted on 02/01/09 at 15:52:23

try your luck with his myspace yet?

this & the show opening should be legit ASAP

Yep, I used VB '08 to program these, which requires the .net framework to be installed.

Carl, I leave, come back, and your making your own things. Awesome
CarlzillaPosted on 02/01/09 at 19:08:10

I left for a long time as well. TNM is just one of those things that I've been playing for a long time...it always pulls me back in somehow.

I tried sending an e-mail to the hexacon.de address. Still nothing, but it's only been a day so no biggie. Next stop is the myspace, haha.
jeff the god of biscuitsPosted on 02/02/09 at 00:45:40

is ollie on facebook?
Snabbit888Posted on 02/02/09 at 01:51:42

Yes, Oliver is on Facebook.
jeff the god of biscuitsPosted on 02/02/09 at 02:05:26

I know ... I just added him ...
CarlzillaPosted on 02/02/09 at 03:31:15

So I have a question for everyone;

Would it be better to have a draft pool (which the user can, and MUST define), or would it be better for the program to use your entire hired roster without the ability to define which wrestlers are eligible as possible draft picks?

I like the first way personally as sometimes you just don't want guys to be drafted, but I could see the appeal of having everyone always available.

jeff the god of biscuitsPosted on 02/02/09 at 06:13:23

how about a toggle either way ...

since my feds are usually very loosely booked, I would either option, depending on how I wanted to run my drafts ...
CarlzillaPosted on 02/02/09 at 06:50:27

A toggle could be done, but it would be a lot more work.

I'll see what I can do, but if it can't be done, which method would you prefer.

jeff the god of biscuitsPosted on 02/02/09 at 08:20:31

I suppose the one where your whole roster is eligible. This is of course, simply because I like the randomness of it all. Seems less "scripted." My only concern would be putting someone back onto the right roster if I wanted/needed too. I loosely book my circuits, but there are somethings I will change to accommodate what I am trying to do ....

PS -- I added Oliver as a friend on facebook and told him that you were trying to get a hold of him
CarlzillaPosted on 02/02/09 at 19:26:18

Oliver sent me an e-mail, so this is on the way to being official.

I've decided to stick with the user defined draft pool, as it allows for both situations to be addressed. If you want everyone to be eligible, just stick them all in the draft pool, if you don't then don't.

To add the toggle I would have to alter the way the program writes the results to the file that contains the brand mapping and could potentially mess stuff up. Maybe for a future version I'll add and test a toggle.
PlutarPosted on 02/02/09 at 23:25:05

So official = endorsed by Oliver and free?
CarlzillaPosted on 02/03/09 at 01:10:41

I could be a jerk and charge money for them, but I'm not a jerk so I wont.

I would like to point out, that the TNM7 Draft Assistant requires the Weight Class Wizard plug-in to be used to set up your brands, and the draft pool. If you don't have it, it won't work, and it does cost money (about $7 if I'm not mistaken).

I may however release a stand alone program to add brands and wrestlers to the draft pool, but probably not for a while, and I encourage everyone to get the Weight Class Wizard, it's pretty handy if you're into TNM.

And quite necessary for my circuit since I have 5(10) brands ;)
CarlzillaPosted on 02/03/09 at 10:17:27

The draft assistant will handle as many brands as you can throw at it. It generates it's list on the fly from the brands found in the brands.dat file in your circuit folder.

I have all the plugins anyway, when I purchased SE in October I purchased all the plugins as well. I use every one of them. The only one I don't use (at least extensively) is the DB Cleaner (since I don't go overboard with importing wrestlers very often) <The only real time I use it is to clean up my move database a bit> I pretty much keep my wrestlers at the hard limit and don't go over that amount. Same with the moves.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 02/06/09 at 22:52:11

That looks like a great plugin Carlzilla. when can you release that plugin?

I agree with you, but I also have a different concern with the randomness thing: What if you run both a WWE Women's and Diva's divsion on RAW and SD respectively, and the draft automatically drafts all your women to one brand? LOL
CarlzillaPosted on 02/08/09 at 01:10:42

You can manually select draft picks as well, so it's not totally random.

Let's say you use the CPU option to draft for Smackdown, and it picks a diva. You can then decide to manually draft for Raw that round and also select a diva to keep things even.

You can also choose to manually select or allow the CPU to select for both brands for any given round, you aren't tied down to a brand.

This way it's only random if you want it to be.
