Chemistry with tag teams?

RussellPosted on 08/05/06 at 01:31:27

It's been a long time since I used TNM, but I don't remember anything of this sort being implamented.

Okay, here it is... Chemistry among tag teams. Is there anything dictating how good two wrestlers in TNM work together? How many moves they can string together, how much more likely they are to win...

Like just mashing two people together as a tag team. Say, I don't know, Bastion Booger and Giant Baba. Obviously they're not going to work well together, at all, and the performance of their tag match would suffer greatly.

But, say, Saturn and Kronus? They're incredible together and always have been.

So, thoughts? Anything?

a "tag push" has been something that has been discussed before.  Don't recall if Olly had any comments on the subject

I've always wondered about this as well. It's probably the biggest "wish" I have for TNm. Could a rating system of 5 to (-5) be used, with 5 being for tried and true tag teams like the Rock N Roll Express, while -5 would be for bitter enemies. The question would be how it affects the match. Would the higher numbered teams tag in and out more often? Would the lesser teams have a greater chance at miscommunication? That would be a cool addition.

cool addition indeed, unfortunately I believe that may require further fattening the already bloated space availible in DOS.  Hopefully not because it'd be a neat addition, hopefully Olly can inform us if it's possible or not next chance he gets to get on the boards

The tag-team section is probably the one are that needs most work. I really don't think tag-team matches flow properly as it is, but I understand the difficulty making it better. Generating more team-specific double moves would also be fun. Bonzo-gonzo moments as well, but we all know how badly the TNM Engine handles more than two people in the ring at the same time.
