No-shows

I guess some people ask: 'What is it with Rey619 and his obsession with no-shows'.. well,, I really don't know myself, but after reading about that 3PW event where multiple guys no-showed, I got an idea...

What if you could have the no-shows before the show started? And then be able to rearrange not only the one match, but the whole card if that suited your goals better.

This would make a nice option, or maybe a have a few people labelled as unavailable prior to booking the card?

.. again, it would have to been optional, but could be interesting to have. :)

The problem with a no-show reason feature is that Oliver doesn't want to imply things about wrestlers, because a number of professional wrestlers use TNM.  Plus nothing could properly take everything into account - for instance, CM Punk isn't likely to no-show because he's got a terrible hangover and can barely move, and Triple H isn't likely to no-show because of lack of comitment.  Add to the fact that some potential reasons (drug problems, being arrested after stabbing someone in Florida, etc) aren't exactly complimentary, and... it's best to let the users decide what happened.

I really like the idea of no-shows being announced when you start scheduling the card so you can work around them a bit more easily, however.  That makes a heck of a lot of sense to me than the way things are handled currently.  Under the current system, you can have guys who have already wrestled on a card no-showing second round tournament matches and the like.  A flat list of people who are unavailable would be much more realistic, I think.

Of course, it might have to be handled differently than no-shows presently are, since it would be checking the entire roster instead of just those who are wrestling.

Perhaps allowing an interview feature to be inserted before matches with no shows (So-and-so found beaten down in locker room, unable to make match). Could also be worked into storylines with this feature.

SOMETHING giving options for no-shows would be great.  I don't mind booking around them, but some warning would be boffo.

As far as tournament no-shows go...I recently had Heidenreich no-show the second round of the WCW Heavy Metal title tournament...LOOKS LIKE JBL (the guy he beat) HIRED SOME GOONS to take him out.

Humorously, (not Hugh Morrus-ly, he works in NLW, and as Bill DeMott, to boot), JBL wound up winning said vacant belt.

I don't know if I ever gave Heidenreich his shot, though.

I'd be open to changing things about the no-show feature. However, rearranging/changing the card isn't possible at all in the current setup... as you all know ;-). That's also the reason why the card scheduler doesn't offer this.

When I'm finished with the Windows version of the ControlCenter, I'll do the card scheduler next.

I'd be happy if it would allow you to select a wrestler not in the circuit as a surprise replacement. It currently only shows a list of the wrestlers in the circuit as replacement options. Since I tend to schedule every wrestler in my circuit into every card I usually have no option but to select the no-show wrestler as her own replacement. Allowing an outside wrestler in would immediately open up new angles or allow an old enemy to show up again.

I've put it on the list.

Just another two cents here.  I don't mind the single no-shows too much (well, in the middle of a tournament...but anything's possible), it's the tag partner no-shows that drive me to drink sometimes.  What would be nice would be the capability of substituting a tag team when one of the partners flacks out.  This gets to be a particular problem in stables because I'll start a card with a stable team--say the Soldiers of Fortune--then bam, Liberty Gunn no-shows and I've got a new tag team on the list when I might have preferred to just sub in the Tenshi Devils.
