Finishers
Unright | Posted on 08/06/05 at 03:59:27 I've always wanted to be able to change a wrestler's finisher within different feds. Not the move itself, just the name of it. Like Scott Hall might be using the Outsider's Edge in a WCW circuit and the Razor's Edge in a WWF circuit without having to edit the wrestler between each show. Of course I'm not sure if this can already be done with the Special Move editor. Someone inform me if it can be, if not, why not? |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 08/06/05 at 19:34:58 That was a decision that I made during the construction of TNM 7. Normally, if you use two aliases of a wrestler in different circuits, the aliases will wrestle differently. Scott Hall is the exception to the rule. Mankind wrestled differently than Cactus Jack. The Rock wrestled differently than Rocky Maivia. Leviathan wrestled differently than Batista. Hence, it makes more sense to have the same wrestler twice, once in the WCW and then in the WWF version. Hence the "Clone Wrestler" feature. A case where you just need to rename the finisher doesn't happen often. |
Unright | Posted on 08/07/05 at 03:32:40 I think I understand... cloning a wrestler just to make a few cosmetic changes makes a lot of sense. I just don't want to clutter my database so that I can keep the number of wrestlers down. Is there no way to be able to the name within a circuit, like being able to change a wrestler's nickname? Or perhaps the Special Move Wizard could change a finisher name? |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 08/07/05 at 09:56:29 Buddy - you're a winner! Watch for this feature in Build 4. All you need to do is use the desired finisher name in the Special Move Wizard (lower textbox) after selecting the desired alias (e.g. Cactus Jack for the main entry of Mick Foley). Then enter the "old finisher" in the upper text box. Just as an example... using the alias SuperAngle for Kurt Angle... Upper text box: Super Angle Slam Lower text box: Angle Slam This would turn SuperAngle's finisher into the "Super Angle Slam". Thanks! |
