battle royal ideas

TerryFunkaPosted on 05/17/05 at 03:25:54

-What about having it so every so often someone doesn't go in the ring right away  ie a jerry lawler in the early 90s royal rumble.
-Someone come out and attack an entrant when they are coming in
-an entrant who's been eliminated comes out later and eliminates the person or partner/stable mate of the person that eliminated them
-ring intro's for the first 2 people
-text in the match stating someone has been in there such and such amount of time ie heenan/monsoon talking about flair in 92 etc
-some people don't come out at all

just a few suggestions

I'd really like to see wrestlers who are friends or in a stable or tag team partners, NOT ATTACK EACH OTHER!!! This almost kills my fed everytime I run a battle royal!  I form the Four Horsemen 2 Cards before a big Rumble.  Well at the Rumble, Anderson is #1 & #2 is Hogan.  Well Anderson is a Horseman & a Heel.  Hogan is a Face!  Well #3 is DiBiase, and DiBiase is also a Horseman & a Heel.  But what happens when he enters the Rumble????  Ass clown Anderson goes right for him!!!!!!!!!!  I had to restart the Rumble because I had no way of explaining why they would start fighting each other instead of teaming up against Hogan!

One thing I'd like to note, if you can't do the whole partners who don't attack (well atleast not very much!!)  Is atleast make it so Heel wrestlers & Face wrestlers will sway away from fighting each other if there is another wrestler opposite from them (heel or face) in the ring.  It's not too bad if Faces go at it, but it sucks when you have two Heel wrestlers fight each other in a Battle Royal.  Doesn't make them much of a heel if all they do is go & beat up the other bad guys!

Technically Jerry Lawler did come out and wrestle right away, then dissapeared after a few minutes and reappeared later in the match.

And I'm sure I remember Oliver saying ring intros for the first two entrants are impossible, as is pausing the match to play the next guys entrance music.

I remember way back to the first PPV Rumble when Ax & Smash of Demolition drew #'s 1 & 2. They fought for the opening minutes & eventually teamed up when #3 came in. So it doesn't always have to kill your fed.

That's easy to explain... they want to win?
DominusPosted on 06/16/05 at 11:17:39

haha yeah sure they might want to win...  But the Battle Royal was for nothing!  Not even a title shot! hehe! Not even interview time! lol....

Yeah I remember when Demolition were #1 & #2...  But they attacked #3 when he came in...  In TNM, Demolition would possibly keep going at it! lol...

I've always tried to find a way to book a battle royal with the last 2 wrestlers winning. EXAMPLE: Razor Ramon and Rick Martel winning a battle royal on RAW. The next week they fought for the IC title. I have wanted to determine two wrestlers to fight for a vacant title numerous times this way, but it's impossible to have the battle royal stop when there are only 2 guys left. It would be awesome if this could be done....
Any possibility??

It's not quite the same, but you could run the battle royal, have one of the two wrestlers win it, and then using the Circuit Editor, manually edit it so that two wrestlers won.  Battle royals don't effect win/loss record to my knowledge, so it wouldn't be a huge problem.

Not a bad idea, and I guess if I know which 2 guys I want to win, I can book that particular match for later in the card as well...just would be nice if there WAS an option to cut back on the editing part....

Yes indeed.  But the good thing about TNM is that although Oliver hasn't gotten EVERYTHING people want implemented into the program (and understandably so), with the things that do exist, there are workarounds for many of them to be done.  Just gotta be willing to put in a little extra work. :)

Granted, I haven't checked, but I thought picking the loser of the battle royal would put the person who was eliminated last in the match.

So if you wanted to book the match later in the card, you would just pick the winner and the loser. The battle royal would finish, but that's a minor thing.

Dominus - I'm working on it.

The main challenge here is that I can't scrape out any more memory for storing this information during a Battle Royal (which is as memory-intensive as they come).

It's always been a thorn in my side as well.
