Wrestler as manager?

kicPosted on 06/22/04 at 04:25:30

It seems like I've read something on this before, I don't remember where, or what it said, so here's the question: can I have a wrestler as a manager?

Perhaps, more specifically, would it be possible to have a wrestler as a manager that is able to do normal moves? What I'm envisioning is having someone's manager be a regular wrestler that has a finisher and stats, etc., and instead of just boring interference, might hit someone with a big move or their finisher on the outside, roll the opponent in, thus giving their client a sizeable advantage.

It seems like I've read before you can do something like this, but I don't know to what degree or what is required. Something as simple as creating a wrestler and manager with the same name? Or just not possible?

Would be/could be nifty if it'd work. Then again, maybe I just like weird features.

I don't know if that's a weird suggestion, I like it. Now, I normally just make a manager with the same name as the accompanying wrestler, but it would be great if it were possible that TNM recognized the name from the wrestler database, and that he could use his moves and finisher as interference.

I suggested before that you should be able to give managers heights and weights as well, even wrestling moves if you wish them to be more like bodyguards. Even if they can just have a minimum moveset of say 5 wrestling moves.

I like your Idea too, kind of like Ric Flair wit Evolution (I'm sick of having Ric Flair and Triple H defending their tag belts with Ric Flair on the outside manageing the team) <lol>

Ah, perhaps I'm not the only one looking for this then. It seems sort of like a niche idea, but I can see it being very useful. It'd make those singles matches between tag teams interesting if the partners were on the outside as managers for the match.

Maybe this needs to be moved to the wish list now...

I concur.  This is a damn good idea.  I wonder why it hasn't already been put in?  Is the code that complex?

I would think it'd only require linking wrestler names to the manager database.

Back in the days of TNM 6, I recall that instead of people having assigned managers, you would get the option to give them a manager when booking the match.  That manager could then be selected from anyone on the roster.  It would be rather cool if you could do it that way for SE.

Maybe a new box on the match options screen, similar to the "Outside Interference" one, called "Select Cornermen".  You could then choose which wrestler you wanted, say how many cornermen you wanted (1-4, or less if the wrestler already has a manager or managers), select them from the roster list, and then give them an interference level for the match.  You could then repeat the process for the other guy, if you wanted him to have any cornermen.

I like the idea of having wrestlers as managers, as has been said, it's kind of odd having someone tag with a wrestler and manage them in the same match

as for the cornerperson idea, that could also be used for lumberjack matches

edit: nevermind my original point, didn't realise it'd already been implemented
