Wrestler stall tactics

Rick GarrardPosted on 09/17/04 at 01:17:03

Is there any chance of having stall tactics added for wrestlers like Larry Zbyszko, Paul Orndorff, Roddy Piper, Lord Steven Regal in WCW et al.?

What I would be looking for would be having wrestler a approach only for wrestler b to duck under a rope and ask the ref to keep wrestler a back until he's ready.

Another scenario would be wrestler a approaches, wrestler b goes to the floor and doesn't want to lockup.

Another... Wrestler a approaches, wrestler b goes to the floor, wrestler a goes to the floor and chases wrestler b around the ring.  Wrestler b gets back in the ring, wrestler a follows only to get <insert move like a kick to the head> to stop his momentum as he comes through the ropes.

I'm sure there are a few other possibilities for stall tactics as well.

Good idea.  I like it a lot.

While we're at it, wrestlers going to the outside for a breather during something like a battle royal. Actually I could probably guess why that's not possible, but I'll chuck it out anyway.

Or hiding under the ring and coming out the other side.  Not that it's something that'd need to come up alot... but every once in a great while it'd add flavor to matches with certain workers in them.

In addition to that last scenario I listed in my initial post, this could also involve managers or folks that are at ringside to interfere hiding behind the ring steps and waiting for them to come running by for the attack.  That one used to be used quite a bit in the WWF if memory serves me correct.

As for hiding under the ring... I haven't seen THAT one in a LONG time, but it was always workable for Doink and the Killer Bees.  :)  Just don't let it be Tommy Rich under there, or he may never come out, or even leave your ring crew a smelly surprise.

What about Eric Angle?

I remember Lawler hiding under the ring during a Rumble when Jake Roberts brought out the snake in the ring a few years ago.

And of course in this years Rumble, Nunzio tried the less subtle approach of hiding next to the ring (and thus getting caught quicker than Lawler was).

I really like this and am staying on top of it.
