A finisher tag I don't think has been suggested.

"Stalking." In other words, when a wrestler has knocked down his opponent, then waits for him to get up and immediately hits his finisher. Perhaps there could even be a string to represent wrestler's different habits, such as: "the Rock hovers over his opponent" or "Rhyno crouches in the corner."

I believe that would be the same thing as signalling for the finisher, or close enough, which is already in the game.

Maybe one solution would be to add a field where we can customize the finisher signal? To insure compatibility with older exports, there could be simple checkmark and, if the "Finisher Signal" textbox is empty, the standard generic finisher signal is used.  However, if the box has something in it, it could be used instead.

Or maybe this could be incorporated into the Special Move Wizard somehow?  Either way, it's not that important of a feature, but it might be kind of cool to see Chris Benoit run his thumb across his neck before locking in the Crossface, or Austin stalking over his opponent before the KICKWHAMSTUNNER.

Actually, I always figured that to be the catches him by surprise thing.  After all, when Rhyno is all hunkered down waiting to gore someone he hits it right as they turn around, 'catching them by surprise'

Though I guess as long as you think of it that way signals for finisher could work too.

"Catches him by surprise thing"? I don't think I catch your meaning. That aside, I do admit a customizable "signal for finisher" string would accomplish much the same thing.

Either way, I certainly don't claim this is anything other than a small bit of flavor that could be added to TNM. Certainly nothing revolutionary or particularly important.

Sometimes when a wrestler hits his/her finisher it'll say just before it something to the effect of...

Wrestler A catches Wrestler B by surprise.
Wrestler A hits Wrestler B with the Clever Move Name.

Doesn't always, but it does sometimes.

I really, really like this suggestion :)

I don't remember seeing this, but perhaps I just missed it. Anyhow, isn't this more hitting a finisher out of nowhere?

Yes, it is.

Sort of, but I bet the victim was pretty surprised.

Isn't the thumb across the throat a signal for the Flying Headbutt?

yup
