Cultural Styles?

I don't know if this is possible as a separate thing, and I think you can set it up through TweakCirc, but it'd be a nice addition to have cultural styles within matches and whatnot.

Lemme see if I can explain.

Here in the States we have a flash-style wrestling.  In every match Ric Flair is in, you're going to see specific Ric Flair styled antics in that match, same with the Rock, and pretty much every other American wrestler out there.  The matches tend to be very quick, and with a limited moveset except in main events where bigger moves are tried and bigger spots and bumps are used.  Also, in this style there's a hinderance on specific wrestlers, ESPECIALLY in the WWE, where lower card wrestlers aren't allowed to use their full movesets because they might "up stage" the more "main event" caliber wrestlers.

In Japan, they have a much more technical wrestling based program, where matches last a bit longer than American matches and a lot more moves are available to the wrestlers.  For instance, if Shane Helms was in Japan, you know very well right off the bat we'd be seeing the Vertibreaker on a regular basis, whereas in the States (or just in the WWE) he's not allowed to use that move.

There's also the Mexican (Luchalibre) style of wrestling, which I've caught some of on the GALA channel, where all the matches (at least in CMLL) are based on a point system, and there really isn't any specific "legal man" and I'm not sure if they even have a singles division in CMLL.  I think AAA does, but I've always changed the channel after Vampiro's wrestled, and he only appears in CMLL, heh.  The point system is the basic two-out-of-three falls sort of match, which is why I think this can be done in TweakCirc, with the exception of limiting movelists for specific wrestlers.

That's a big suggestion, and I don't know if it would be possible at all, but, y'know, just doing my part in keeping the creative flow... flowing.  Heh.

Well in TweakCirc you can change how long time goes by in a match, & you can change how much damage a move does.  So if you adjust those you could have a match with tons of moves (alot less damage) & very fast match, or even a longer match.  Or whatever you like.

This is true.  But it isn't definitive.  Say you run a match with all the TweakCirc edits applied, but you don't book it, there's still a chance that it's going to end up a two minute thirty second match with a silly ending.  I run into this a lot, 'cause I don't like booking anything as it takes a bit of the fun out of it for me.  With a cultural style flag, you could have a dfinitive match length set so that matches WILL run to a specific length and will only finish sometime after that length has expired.  And with something like the American system I mentioned above, certain matches will have a dedicated time slot, where they'd have to end between say the five minute and the eight minute mark, where as the Japanese system would be longer, but you'd have a definitive set length where not all of the matches will be the same length, but will be around the same time frame and will guarantee that you'll get an actual match instead of a couple of seconds with a weak finish.

But, I also think this is all wishful thinking on my part.  Heh.

I hate when that happens!  :P ::)
I also do not like booking at all.
