Any expert on move names?

rey619Posted on 03/02/05 at 22:57:04

I am coming up with a new batch of exports, this time mainly CHIKARA and PWG wrestlers. I made the CHIKARA wrestlers from watching Cage of Death 6, complementing with signature moves from their bio pages and then adding some moves I think they are able to do as well (wich is what I do with all experts)

With Gran Akuma, I came across a couple of moves which I have never encountered before.. namely the Pyramid Bomb and La Quesadora (which Pulsar insists is some type of Mexican food). Now, this might just be signature names for common moves, but anyone knowledgeable with lucha might know that better than me.

Thanks

La Quesadora (which Pulsar insists is some type of Mexican food)
You mean it isn't?  It's right there along with the Chimichanger and the El Loco Pollo.  ;)

Or not.  But I still agree with Pulsar.  ;)

A Pyramid Driver is a cross-armed sitout powerbomb, not sure if Akuma's Pyramid Bomb is the same thing.

No frickin' clue on the other.

Thanks! Not sure if that move is in my database... but I guess I can clone a normal sitout powerbomb and rename it.

All the talk about Mexican food has made me want some burritos...  ;De

La Quesadora is that pseudo-wheelbarow suplex into a bulldog thing that Rey Mysterio Jr does.

Speaking of move names: Does anyone know the name of that submission move Alex Shelley and Super Dragon use which looks like a full nelson done with the attacker's legs?

Ah! Thanks! Now, if only the WWE could have hired someone like you to call their matches I would have known that by know! Stupid Michael Cole not knowing the difference between a baseball slide and a drop kick. You should think that Taz would be able to call some difficult moves with his experience though.

Josh Matthews calls the moves by their proper names on Velocity.  Although his announce partner in "Steve" Romero is still pretty darned clueless about most of the stuff.

"Steve" Romero used to do the local sportscast in Kansas City under the name Todd Romero.  Apparently him knowing Jonathan Coachman, fellow Kansas Citian, probably got him his foot in the door for the announce gig.

That's the advantage of having the match called by a wrestler (like CM Punk), or someone who seems to know everything about wrestling (Mike Tenay). I haven't seen Romero, but I gather then that he is as clueless as Don "he just grabs him up and slams him right down again" West?
