Dupree/Jindrak Finisher

rey619Posted on 04/19/04 at 09:17:11

What's Rene Dupree's new finisher? Michael Cole called it a powerbomb, but that's not right?
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 04/19/04 at 17:14:36

It looks a lot like a sloppily executed Michinoku Driver to me.  But knowing WWE, they're going to come up with a gimmicky name for it like the Bastille Drop or the De Gaul Driver or somesuch.

DeGaulle Driver sounds right.  Goodness knows WWE's got DeGaulle to do alot of things like that.  ;D

Then again, how many Americans actually know who DeGaulle is? :P
rey619Posted on 04/19/04 at 23:38:54

So that's what a Michinoku Driver is like.. thanks guys.. I'll just call it the Michinoku Driver until WWE gives it a cheesy name..
Snabbit888Posted on 04/20/04 at 00:56:28

I'd rather it have a cheesy name than them have a French guy using the Michinoku Driver.  He could do the move after an Irish whip, or maybe set it up with an Argentine backbreaker. :)

I'd say it's a Falcon Arrow for now
ZerostarPosted on 04/20/04 at 03:08:58

If you want to get technical, it's more of a pathetically weak Fire Thunder than Michinoku Driver, as it starts in more of a tombstone position than a bodyslam position, but either way... Horribly executed.
rey619Posted on 04/20/04 at 09:02:29

Well, I definetely want to be technical! But Fire Thunder isn't a move in the TNM Moveset, is it?
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 04/20/04 at 10:23:58

I believe the Thunder Fire Power Bomb is in there - at least it was imported by default for my old TNM7 First Edition download, and was used by quite a few of the Japanese Workers.

As for how many Americans know who DeGaulle is... probably more than can easily spell his name at a moment's notice.  ;D

If you want to be entirely correct, use running powerslam as the similar to move. Remember, the similar to is for moves that the finisher can counter, not for total move accuracy.

Fire Thunder and Thunder Fire Power Bomb are completely different moves. A Thunder Fire is more like a powerbomb from a Canadian Backbreaker position, while a Fire Thunder is kind of like a sitout tombstone.
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 04/20/04 at 18:31:21

Of course.  How silly of me to assume that they would be the same.  ;D

I guess Running Powerslam would work.  If nothing else, it's more likely to actually trigger as a reversal than a Michinoku Driver or a Falcon Arrow.

Well, you guys are definetely the right ones to ask about moves.. now how about the Jindrak's new finisher? It looked like a Soviet Suplex to me..

BTW, last week on smackdown, Cole referred to a move as a belly-to-back suplex and was promptly corrected by Taz who said it was a German Suplex..  ;D

The Mark Bottom?   Jindrak's Bottom?  :P
rey619Posted on 04/24/04 at 10:45:35

Jindrak's Bottom sounds perversed...  ;) .. anyway, I think they should call it "the Reflection of Perfection".
Critic_of_the_DawnPosted on 04/24/04 at 19:47:12

No, that's Jindrak's new nickname.  That would be like The Rock calling his finisher "The People's Elbow" or something...

Okay, bad example.

I kinda like calling it The Broken Mirror.  But that's just me.

On Velocity, I believe they called Jindrak's finisher the "Mark of Perfection."  Unfortunately, I had my head turned and didn't see what he actually did.

Actually, they called it the Mark of Excellence. And yes, it was the backdrop suplex to Rock Bottom thing he has been using.
NormanTharxFanPosted on 05/18/04 at 15:56:11

The Broken Mirror? Sounds cool!
How about the Mirror Image?
xsouporheroxPosted on 05/23/04 at 00:49:37

Mark out moment for Smackdown (the show sucked, but this part was cool).

Dupree hits his crappy Michinoku Driver...

and Tazz puts over Vampiro by calling it the Nail in the Coffin.
jhip74Posted on 07/10/04 at 13:51:24

I think they have named Dupree finisher "The FRench Tickler" now. I keep hearing Tazz say it when Dupree sets up for the end of the match.
cerberosPosted on 07/10/04 at 17:17:41

The French Tickler is that "cool" dance Dupree does where he hopes back and forth, atleast that is what it used to be called.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/10/04 at 17:17:43

No.. The French Tickler is the dance that Dupree does.

Ever notice how similar Dupree's in ring style is to that of  Du Model Rick Martel?
Critic of the DawnPosted on 07/10/04 at 18:35:04

I believe I might have heard Coleslaw refer to Dupree's finisher as the Deja Vous driver.  Of course, that's probably spelled wildly wrong, but you get the idea.
