Needed some major help

KingofOldSchoolPosted on 08/10/06 at 02:45:22

So, going through some old burnt CDs today I came across my old copy of of TNM7SE. Crazy as I totally forgot about this as I haven't played it in 3-4 years (I've had the TNMs since 1999), so I copied my TNM folder onto my hard drive today so I could play it for once.

Well when I click on it to load up the game, I get this message "Another program is currently using the file." Ooooook. Well how can this be? The only other program I have running is Firefox. I ran the Diagnostic just in case and everything came up fine.

So does anyone know what is going on with it? I even tried installing the newest build of TNM and it still does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and if you are reading this Oliver, I'm glad to hear that you are still highly successful. Here I thought you were stopping the updates. Last time I was here, it was a relative ghost town. Kudos to you for the years of spending what probably seems like your non-exsistent free time doing all of this.

Try making sure all the files are no longer read-only- a lot of times when you copy something off the CD, it comes Read-Only and that may make some programs think its already in use (such as trying to open up a Word document that somebody else on your network is working on). Only idea I've got?

Nope, that doesn't work. Thanks though.

Does that mean there's a dispute to the throne?

Have you also tried removing the CD?

You are trying to open the tnm.bat file right? Reboot? You know how windows is.

I got it working.

Thanks for the help!
