Posting a Circuit/Running a Circuit - Questions

BobJacobsenVER1Posted on 04/18/10 at 23:34:45

Hey Everyone,

I've been reading a couple circuits on here and have been thinking of starting my own. It would really add a new dimension for me with TNM.

I have a technical question and also looking for opinions from people.

First the technical question...

How do you exactly post the Results, etc?

Now for the Circuit Questions...

Do you guys think a circuit would work with participation from others? I'm trying to think of a way to make an interactive circuit. I am watching my 4 month baby at home each day since I'm out of work, so I am quite busy with him, but once my wife gets home, I could get online easier. I was thinking of starting a fed where the viewers would choose the wrestlers in the circuit, etc. If you don't think this would work, then I can try to go a different route.

I guess that's it for now. Thanks!

I find circuits like that usually don't work.  You can ask for some advice, opinions, etc., but what generally happens is when everyone else is basically making the decisions for you, you're going to become disenchanted with it.

I find that for a circuit to really have lasting power, I have to be using wrestlers I like, I can book, I can write for, etc.  If you don't like any of the wrestlers we pick for you, how are you possibly going to want to take any time to write matches for them?

Yeah those are really good points. I'm going to try to start it tonight if someone can let me know how to post the circuit!

Hey Bob ~

I had an idea a couple of years back about doing a old school NWA type deal with multiple territories. Wrestlers could "pass through" the different territories and whomever the World Champion is could make the rounds on a regular basis. And since all the territories were usually booked differently, it wouldn't be so much of a stretch to have different people running the different circuits. It never came to fruition however. It would be interesting to see if one could be accomplished.

That sounds cool. My thought right now is maybe having one match a card where people can vote for the winner or first person to post gets to add to the storyline or something. I just think it would be a bit fresh and also help keep me motivated knowing people are following it etc.

As for posting your circuit, you need to have TNM in Windowed mode.

From there open a card with results. Click on the icon in the upper left corner of the window where it should give you options like "Move, Close, Edit, Options"...go to Edit which should cause another drop down menu and then hit "Mark" ... you can now highlight text in the TNM window. Once you have highlighted what you want to copy, go back to the Edit menu and click Copy. You can then Paste or Ctrl-V into the text box to paste your results onto this forum or onto Notepad or whereever
you want to put it. You have to do it for each page of results or comments.

Sounds more confusing then it is. Hope this helps.

I am sure Joshiq's solution works as well, never thought of doing it that way... the way I do it, is to go into the Circuit Menu of the circuit and choose HTML Tree. This creates an HTML export of your circuit, which you can find in C:/TNM7SE/[Name of circuit]/HTML (or wherever you saved TNM7).

As for collaborating, there has been several attempts to run NWA styled promotions earlier, umbrella promotions so to speak - but they always fall through after one or two months.

Damn!!

I always use to put my results into these forums manually!!!

I should have known there would be an easier way!! lol

If you need help booking a circuit, I am always willing to help out, just let me know your roster etc.

By the way, as soon as someone helps me to get my registration details back (the link does not work, and Oliver is not replying to emails), I will be back with a circuit of my own (maybe one of those "impossible" ones with more than one territory!!)
