That tournament might be one of the most brutal events in the industry. Just because I respect Vampiros win, doesn't mean I like him. If he wants this Global title, he can make a run at it at Heatwave. As for Christopher Daniels; I know you're on my tail. If you want a 3 way match at Heatwave, Then we will do the damn thing! The USWA met my demand and booked Heatwave in Mexico City, so the match is on Latin Lover and Psicosis defeated PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) when Psicosis pinned J.C. Ice with the Flying Legdrop in 0:11:19. Rating: *** 1/4 -Nice high flying action in the tag team opener. Lover and Psicosis have an open contract at Heatwave. Interview: Jerry Lawler has an announcement about the Tag Titles ::Jerry Lawler hits the ring:: Lawler: We seem to have a real problem these days with the Tag Team Titles. Ultimo Guerrero doesn't want anything to do with ANY of his tag partners. I have no choice but to VACATE the tit... :Victor Quinonez music hits and he sprints to the ring: Vic: Lawler! You will NOT Vacate those titles. I have to much riding on the line with the belt in my posession. Nigel and Guerrero are a strong force to be recon with here in the company. NOBODY can beat my guys. Lawler: Fine, then at Heatwave "YOUR GUYS" will be defending those titles against Americas Most Wanted ::Crowd Pops as AMW stand at the stage:: Interview: Taz goes off about Goldbergs departure -Taz says that Goldberg is an asshole because he didn't want a rematch with the path of rage. He's a one pump chump who couldn't beat him the first time they were in the ring. Taz then wants to know who the hell is next. New Jack pinned Pitbull 1 with the 187 in 0:15:12. Rating: *** 1/4 In a hardcore singles match, New Jack defeated Pitbull 1. No title on the line, just an old school brawl. Jack had a few things to say after the match. Interview: New Jack has words for Taz ::After his victory over Pitbull 1 Jack asks for the mic:: Jack: Gimmie the mic man. Taz, I've known you for over 9 years. Since day one you have bitched a storm about how the world owes you. How nobody gives you a fight. You wanna take it to the hood? You want to get hardcore with the OG New Jack? Lets do it at Heatwave! Doug Williams pinned CM Punk after a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:07:30. Rating: *** Samoa Joe made Ultimo Guerrero submit to the Coquina Clutch in 0:11:26. Rating: **** 1/4 (Colt Cabana no-showed.) Samoa Joe is back in the USWA after his training in Japan. Tonight he proved he is on top of his game when he beat red hot Ultimo Guerrero. The loss by Guerrero didn't sit well with Victor Quinonez. Interview: Joe accepts AJ Styles challenge at Heatwave Samoa Joe took the mic after his match and told AJ he was right. He has learned new moves and a new attitude in Japan from Akiyama and Misawa. He has the blessing from his teachers to come back to the USWA and take his game to the next level. Jerry Lynn and Shocker defeated The Sandman and Too Cold Scorpio when Shocker defeated Sandman by disqualification in 0:08:54. Rating: *** Jerry Lynn teaming with LAX's Shocker get the victory over 2 cold and Sandman. Sandman brought the cain to the ring and used it once he was fed up with the speed of Lynn and Shocker. The ref called for the bell and that was that. We have been told Lynn and Shocker have an open contract for Heatwave. AJ Styles pinned Nigel McGuinness with the Styles Clash in 0:07:54. Rating: ** 1/2 In our Main Event "The Phenominal one" AJ Styles gets the nod. Nigel McGuinness had to many distractions when Ultimo Guerrero came to the enterance ramp to watch the match. Styles was able to hit the Styles Clash and that was the end of it. Card rating: *** Match observations: Backstage Notes: USWA made a quick decision that they could have Heatwave in Mexico City. Konnan and Ultimo Guerrero were major players in putting the show together. New Jack will make his 4th title defense against Taz at Heatwave. This match has a lot of those in the wrestling world asking "who will come out on top"? Taz is one of the best in the business, but New Jack has played the mental game to a tee with all of his opponents. AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe is being booked as a high impact match for the fans. We will get a chance to see how good these two really are at Heatwave. Next weeks Velocity taping from Long Island will have a Main Event of Christopher Daniels vs Vampiro! |

After avenging his loss to Williams from last week, Punk wants to climb the ladder to a title shot as soon as possible. Jerry Lynn comes to the interview area and tells Too Cold that he will have to get two pinfalls on him to get back his gold. No-Countout-No-DQ-Match: The Sandman pinned Alan Stone with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:01:42. Alan Stone tore his right calf muscle. He will be out for approximately 5 cards. Rating: ** 3/4 Chad Austin and Sharky had no shot against one of the strongest teams in the USWA. The Pitbulls continue to impress. Ulf Hermann defeated Trevor Murdoch by disqualification in 0:05:07. Rating: ** 1/4 [The Sandman interfered against Ulf Hermann.] [New Europe interfered against Trevor Murdoch.] After a run in by New Europe on Trevor Murdoch, The Sandman hit the ring and took out the entire stable. Trevor Murdoch didn't want help from the Sandman, but Sandman offered him a beer and he accepted. In Ring Interview: Lance Wright introduces New Jack to the Long Island crowd. New Jack comes to the ring with the Heavyweight Title on his shoulder. Lance brings up the fact that this will be New Jacks fourth title defense. New Jack tells Lance that nobody thought he would hold this title for the past four months, but he still has the gold and accepting all challenges. Wright brings up that he has also been seeking out his own competition in the human suplex machine Taz! Jack says that Taz is a bitter man who's been defeated in the past. Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles have both had winning records against him. The man can be beat! (Taz music hits as he heads to the ring to a mixed reaction) Taz grabs the mic from Lance and tells New Jack to shut up. He tells New Jack that at Heatwave we won't have to worry about cradle pile drivers and styles clashes because its a shoot fight for the title. New Jack tells Taz to remember who the champion is because right now Taz is nothing but talk with nothing to show for it. Jack leaves Taz in the ring as Lance hypes Heatwave on July 28th. Super Crazy pinned J.C. Ice with the Spider Bomb in 0:06:19. Rating: *** 1/2 Backstage : Ultimo Guerrero says that he will defend the Tag Titles with Nigel because he has respect for the titles, not because he has respect for Nigel and his New Europe entourage. Guerrero says the biggest mistake he ever made was letting Vic Quinonez be the man that got him into the United States to wrestle. If he had to do over he would of been apart of LAX with Konnan and his friends, but now he finds himself working for a man he can't stand. Universo 2000 defeated Psicosis via pinfall in 0:07:52. Rating: ** 3/4 A win for Universo 2000 keep The MexiCANS in the spotlight of the USWA. The MexiCANs contine to stay in the USWA spotlight as Vampiro gets closer to his Global Title rematch. Hype Central!!!!!: Lance Wright brings us Hype Central as he hypes up the USWA's hot summer night in Mexico City. The card for Heatwave is shaping up. Samoa Joe returns from two months in Japan. Former USWA Heavyweight Champion Jun Akiyama and his mentor Misawa have trained Joe on how to defeat any opponent in the USWA. After Joe's Heavyweight title loss to New Jack he didn't know where his career was taking him. Now, with a new outlook on life and new career goals, Samoa Joe will step back into the ring. His first opponent will not be an easy task as he will face off against AJ Styles. The X Division Title will once again be on the line as Jerry Lynn defends against his toughest opponent to date, Too Cold Scorpio. These two have already exhanged the title once this summer when Lynn defeated Scorpio in Louisville, KY. Now they go at it in a best 2/3 falls matchup. Konnan must defend his Global title against two men! In one corner you have Christopher Daniels who has defeated Konnan in a 5 star, 2/3 falls, match of the year candidate. Daniels has even impressed the likes of The MexiCANS stable manager Vic Quinonez, who would like Daniels to join his army to defeat Konnan and his LAX team. Since Daniels already has a victory over Konnan, he doesn't need the help of Quinonez. Daniels has been taking out members of Konnans LAX team for two months on his way to the top of the rankings for a Global Title shot. Vampiro on the other hand has won a shot at any title he wants Heavyweight or Global by way of winning the 2002 King of the Death Match Tournament. Vampiro has decided he wants to take on Konnan one more time for a chance to win the Global Title back! Will Konnan fend off two of the most agressive men in the USWA? Will Daniels complete 1/2 of his dream of winning the Global title, and then go on to unite it with the Heavyweight title? Or, will Vampiro keep his winning streak going and put another championship in the mexiCANS stable? These three matches, along with a tag title defense, an open contract for Latin Lover and Psicosis in Mexico! and much more USWA action on ONE HOT SUMMER NIGHT IN MEXICO it's HEATWAVE 2002! Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Vampiro pinned Christopher Daniels with the Vampiro Spike in 0:09:21. Rating: ** 1/2 Nobody in Long Island was safe from this match! After the match Vampiro took the mic and told Daniels and Konnan he would once again become the USWA Global Champion and do it in Konnans backyard of Mexico City. Card rating: ** 3/4 |

Rating: *** 1/4 In the opening match of the night Alex Shelly defeated Mexican native and fan favorite Super Crazy. It was a solid opener with New Europe getting the upperhand on the Mexicans to start off the night. Backstage: Trevor Murdoch and The Sandman are spotted backstage. Trevor Murdoch goes up to the Sandman to tell him he appreciated his help against Ulf Herman last week. The Sandman shurgs him off until Trevor presents a new Singapore cane to The Sandman. After The Sandman sees the gift he tells Murdoch he feels bad he didn't get him anything, but then The Sandman grabs a few cans of beer and gives them to Trevor. AJ Styles pinned Samoa Joe after a spinning neckbreaker in 0:13:24. Rating: *** 3/4 AJ Styles gets a clean victory over Samoa Joe. After the match Joe seemed very upset that he didn't defeat former Heavyweight Champ AJ. When the match ended Raven was seen on the video board calling out Samoa Joe. Interview: Raven heads to the ring to confront Samoa Joe (Raven is on the video board telling Joe he hasn't learned a thing in Japan) Samoa Joe took a mic and told Raven he should shut his mouth and head to the ring. Raven then comes out to the ring with a garbage can as the two begin to brawl USWA wrestlers hit the ring to break these two apart. Mexican Death Match: New Europe (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) and Latin Lover and Psicosis battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: **** 1/4 Everyone in the company thought this would be an easy win for New Europe, but in Mexico City the Latin Lover and Psicosis held their own. Doug Williams busted up Latin Lover pretty bad and left him bleeding in the ring. When the time limit expired all 4 men were exhausted. The fans gave them a round of applause after the match. Nigel McGuinness and Ultimo Guerrero defeated Americas Most Wanted when N. McGuinness pinned C. Harris after an inside cradle in 0:06:39. Nigel McGuinne ss suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 1 card. Rating: ** 1/2 (Nigel McGuinness and Ultimo Dragon retained the Tag Team Titles.) Vic Quinonez still has gold in his camp. Nigel and U. Guerrero were able to control their emotions in the ring. The Lord of the ring McGuinness was banged up during the match but shouldn't miss much time. Triangle Match: Christopher Daniels defeated Konnan and Vampiro when Daniels pinned Vampiro with the Roll Up in 0:17:07. Rating: *** (Christopher Daniels won the Global Title.) Christopher Daniels gets the victory in the triangle match by pinning Vampiro. Konnan was upset and tried to explain to the ref he was never pinned, but this match was not held under elimination rules. Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Too Cold Scorpio beat Jerry Lynn 2 falls to 1: x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:05:59 x Scorpio beat Lynn via a German suplex in 0:07:44 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:09:30 Rating: *** 1/4 (Too Cold Scorpio won the X-Division Title.) The title has changed hands again, giving Too Cold the X-Division championship for the third time in his career. Jerry Lynn thought he could kick out of the Scorpio Splash, but Too Cold is an X-Division expert and beat the great Jerry Lynn. CM Punk pinned Shocker with the G.T.S. in 0:11:57. Rating: *** 1/4 With Low-Ki scouting this match, CM Punk defeated Shocker with his new finishing move the Go To Sleep. We know that CM Punk and Low-Ki have both been key players in the X-division since the the beginning. Could Punk be looking at potential future opponents? New Jack defeated Taz by disqualification in 0:06:13. Rating: ** 1/2 (New Jack retained the Heavyweight Title.) [Vampiro interfered against New Jack.] Once again Taz fails at becoming the USWA Heavyweight champion. It's been well documented that Taz can't win the match when the title is on the line, and tonight was another example of that. Vampiro had a lot to do with the outcome of this match. After failing to win the Global title, Vampiro came down to the ring and attacked Heavyweight Champion New Jack! Once Vampiro beat down New Jack the referee had no choice but to call for the bell. Taz looked on in shock as he saw his dream of becoming the USWA Champion come to an end. Vampiro and Taz had a stare down that ended Heatwave 2002. Card rating: *** Match observations: Circuit Notes: The company is in negotiations with the Mid-South Coliseum to renovate the building and make it more TV friendly. This would then make it available for weekly tapings of Velocity right from the former home of the USWA. The company has booked upcoming Velocity tapings in the old USWA stomping grounds of Dallas Texas and Houston Texas. Rumor has it the USWA Championship committee is trying to put together a big 6 man tag for the main event in Dallas. Talks of the USWA debut in Europe continue into September. Owners Randy Hales and Jeff Jarrett think with the popularity of Nigel McGuinness, Doug Williams and Harry Smith the USWA can have good crowds in the UK. |
SeanH529 | Posted on 07/20/08 at 20:17:20 USWA Velocity TV August 3rd, 2002 Dallas, Texas Interview: Christopher Daniels explains his future plans with the title. (We open up in the airport where Christopher Daniels checks into first class) Daniels tells the camera he finally achieved his goal and he did it without the help of anyone in the USWA. Daniels says he is now the USWA Global Champion and that means he won't be seen in the USWA because he will be defending the championship around the world. The title will be defended in Japan and Germany for the next few weeks. As far as Konnan and Vampiro, there will be no rematch. The USWA has to name a number one contender and then Daniels will return to defend the title. (Daniels boards a plane headed to Germany.) Jerry Lynn pinned Mike Lozansky after a rana in 0:07:55. Rating: *** 1/2 Jerry Lynn gets the victory tonight and had a few choice words for the X Division champion. Lynn tells Too Cold that he got the upset victory at Heatwave and he respects him for it, but in two weeks time back in Memphis as the Mid South Coliseum it will be Lynn vs Too Cold one more time and it will be a LADDER MATCH! Interview: Vic Quinonez catches up with Ultimo Guerrero in the locker room. (Backstage Quinonez runs up to Ultimo Guerrero...) Quinonez tells Guerrero his wrestling is a joke, and that he needs to shape up and defend those tag titles a little more convincingly. Guerrero is about to slug him when Vic reminds him that he is the one who put the mandatory Global title shot in his contract, and if he even tries to lay a finger on him he will send him back to AAA and take away his opportunity to make a name for himself in the United States. Victor leaves as Ultimo Guerrero starts throwing chairs in frustration. Raven pinned Rik Ratchet with the Evenflow DDT in 0:05:28. Rating: ** 1/2 After the match Samoa Joe made his way to the enterance ramp as the two men had a staredown. Interview: Jeff Jarrett beefs up security after Heatwave. (Jarrett is backstage on the phone with Randy Hales) After the phone call Lance Wright asks Jarrett whats that was all about. Jarrett tells Lance that after the Raven/Samoa Joe attack at Heatwave the USWA has decided to beef up security at the events. There is no reason USWA wrestlers should have to hit the ring to break up random brawls. This is not a small wrestling company anymore and its time we have security in place so the wrestlers don't get injured. Bobby Duncum Jr. made Shark Boy submit to a half Boston in 0:07:13. Rating: *** 1/4 In his USWA debut Bobby Duncum Jr. gets the victory over Shark Boy. Bobby had the fans behind him in Dallas tonight. No-DQ-Two-out-of-three-Falls Falls-Count-Anywhere Match With Captain's Rules: The Pitbulls (Pitbull 1 and Pitbull 2) and The Sandman beat America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm) and Trevor Murdoch 2 falls to 0: x Sandman beat Murdoch via pinfall in 0:16:09 Rating: **** In our six man main event The Sandman, along with his friends the Pitbulls, get the victory over Trevor Murdoch and Americas most wanted. The finish came when Pitbull 2 threw Sandman his new singapore cane and smacked Trevor between the eyes with it! Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: Backstage Notes: Dave Brown announced next week Velocity TV will be held in Houston and the main event will be a rematch from Heatwave. Psicosis and The Latin Lover will take on New Europe, but this time it will be a European Strap Match! Taz and Samoa Joe will be in action and we will have a sitdown interview with Low Ki. Tonight they will step into the ring under European Strap Match rules, but they are willing to do anything to climb the ladder of competition in the USWA. Taz pinned Chad Austin after a small package in 0:03:20. Rating: ** 1/4 Taz looked to be in great shape tonight in the ring. After the match Taz took the mic and had a few words for the Heavyweight Champion New Jack. Taz said that Vampiros interference was complete selfish bullshit. Taz tells Vampiro that if he ever interferes in a match of his again he will break his neck! As for New Jack, Taz wants one more matchup inside a steel cage! With the title on the line Taz says he will finally fulfill his destiny to become the USWA champion! Interview: Corey Macklin has a sit down interview with Low-Ki. (We open up inside a TV Studio with Low-Ki and Corey Macklin) Corey asks Low-Ki what is on his mind? Low KI says that the USWA has been dodging him and his request for a championship match. After defeating The Sandman and getting revenge for his girlfriend Trinity, he went on to defeat CM Punk at the King of the Death Match. Corey says CM Punk is the man the USWA has put in front of him and they have been back and forth with nothing being resolved. Low Ki explains that they need to bring it to the next level. He then says he wants to ask the Championship committee for a best of 7 series with CM Punk. The winner of the best of 7 will be the new number one contender for the Global Championship. Corey says that this is a huge announcement because the USWA has never had a best of 7 series before. Low Ki then says that he wants each match to have special stipulations and he wants the first matchup to take place in Knoxville, TN at Locked up! Corey asks Low Ki what makes him think the committee will get this done? Low Ki says that it will be the best competition the USWA has seen in 2002. Macklin says he is excited about the challenge and awaits word from CM Punk and the USWA officials on the future of this best of 7 series. Samoa Joe defeated Universo 2000 by disqualification in 0:08:53. Rating: ** 1/4 [Victor Quinonez interfered against Samoa Joe.] After the match Universo 2000 told Victor Quinonez he is leaving him and his stable. Vic tried to slap him in the face and Universo took Vic and powerbombed him in the ring! The SAT's hit the ring to try to help their manager to his feet, but it looks like Universo 2000 stands alone! Backstage: Ultimo Guerrero meets with Jeff Jarrett and tells him that in his contract with Vic Quinonez he is guaranteed a Global title match. Jarrett acknowledges that he does have a Global shot in his contract and he will get that title shot at Locked Up! PG-13 (J.C. Rating: ** 1/4 America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm) defeated The Pain Game (Bull Pain and Ox Harley) when J. Storm pinned Ox Harley after an airplane spin toss in 0:13:11. Rating: ** 1/2 AMW looked good in tag team competition tonight. It seems apparent they still have their eyes on the Pitbulls. After last weeks 6 man tag USWA officials have decided to let AMW and The Pitbulls settle their differences in the ring. European Strap Match: New Europe (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated Psicosis and Latin Lover when Smith pinned Psicosis after a fisherman suplex in 0:07:36. Rating: *** 1/4 [Nigel McGuinness attacks Psicosis and Latin Lover] [AJ Styles makes the save and helps Lover and Psicosis clear the ring] Crazy main event when Nigel Mcguinness heads down to the ring to be in the corner of his stable mates. Harry Smith did get the clean pin but after the match, Nigel decided to join in on the strapping. AJ Styles hit the ring and finally Psocisos and Lover took control again. JoshiQ | Posted on 07/27/08 at 00:01:18 Just so you know, I am reading, but I'm trying to catch up first with all of your past cards. Once I do that I will start posting some replies. But from what I've read so far from the early stuff, good work! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 07/27/08 at 17:07:13 Thanks! Some of the older cards are hard to read. I never really expected to post anything. Two things that might be confusing would be the Young Lions Challenge thing, which kind of fell off. That was a gimmick I picked up off a now defunct Florida promotion. The other confusing part of the history would be using a top 10 system. I would have wrestlers in the top 10 face off randomly. This would give me a better idea of the number one contenders when I wasn't booking the company. I also had a little storyline where I wanted to change the promotion to ECW, but I then didn't like it and changed it back. :) Jun Akiyama was my best heavyweight champ, and I was going to have a great angle in 2002 for Akiyama and Samoa Joe, but Akiyama quit and really messed up the major stoyline for this year. I'm learning from King of Old Schools WWF circuit to keep things simple. My feuds are longer when I don't try to put everything on the same card! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 08/02/08 at 04:34:21 Velocity TV Memphis, TN August 17th, 2002 Attendance: 2200 Interview: Nigel McGuinness calls out AJ Styles. Nigel was not happy with AJ's interference in last weeks main event. McGuinness told AJ that New Europe is on a mission to take down the USWA's top talent and collect all the championships the company has to offer. AJ Styles makes his way out and says that Nigel getting involved in an attack on his friends Latin Lover and Psicosis is his business. AJ says if Nigel wants to get involved in the matches so bad, why don't they have a 6 man tag at Locked Up with Psicosis, Lover and AJ in one corner against any 3 members of New Europe! Low-Ki defeated Universo 2000 by countout in 0:01:14. Rating: ** Low Ki comes in with a victory over Universo 2000 when a stiff kick to the head layed out Universo 2000 and he was counted out of the match. Low-Ki has demanded that CM Punk take notice because he is the only thing in his way to another heavyweight championship title match. Ultimo Guerrero made Mike Lozansky submit to a bow-and-arrow submission in 0:04:40. Rating: ** 1/2 Ultimo Guerrero looked good in action. During the match a video clip from Christopher Daniels played. Daniels says he is aware of the title defense at Locked Up and that Ultimo Guerrero is a non factor in his attempt to unify the Global and Heavyweight titles. Interview:: Too Cold Scorpio talks about tonights Ladder Match Scorpio says that he is proud to be a two time X division champion and he knows that Lynn is the best contender on the USWA roster. They have met in plenty of matches all summer long, but tonight the Ladder match will end this feud and Scorpio will move on to bigger and better things in the USWA! Colt Cabana pinned Alex Shelley with the Colt 45 in 0:02:36. Rating: *** 1/4 Colt Cabana pulls out a victory over New Europes Alex Shelley with help from AJ Styles! After the match Ulf Herman hit the ring and ran off AJ and Cabana. The Sandman pinned Steve Madison with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:13:50. Rating: *** 1/2 Sandman continues to chalk up victories on Velocity. Trevor Murdoch came out to do commentary during the match. Trevor says the Sandman is the most brutal opponent he has faced in the USWA to date and he couldn't wait to get his hands on him. Once the match ended and the Sandman turned his back Murdoch hit the ring and pummeled the Sandman. Officials had to help Sandman to the back and we do not have word on his condition. PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when Wolfie D pinned Jose Maximo after a waistlock suplex in 0:18:11. Rating: ** 3/4 [Victor Quinonez interfered against Wolfie D.] Victor Quinonez costs the SATs their tag match and it would once again be the last time for the S.A.T.'s Jose and Joel hit Vic with double moonsaults after the match and just like Universo 2000 last week, the S.A.T.s announced they have left Victor and the mexiCANS stable! Interview: CM Punk accepts the challenge of Low-Ki CM Punk says that Low Ki and him have had trouble since earlier this year before the King of the Deatch Match. The USWA officials have said they need to finish things in the ring before either of them can move on. Punk says when he defeated Raven this year he thought he would be the new number one contender to New Jacks championship, but Low-Ki continues to get in the way of that dream. In the Best of 7 series CM Punk says he will finally defeat Low-Ki and go on to be the new number one contender to New Jacks title! Ladder Match: Too Cold Scorpio defeated Jerry Lynn in 0:18:41. Rating: *** 3/4 (Too Cold Scorpio retained the X-Division Title.) In our main event Too Cold Scorpio sucessfully defends the X division championship and leaves Lynn laying in the ring. The fans gave both men a round of applause and as far as we know this ends the summer feud of Scorpio and Jerry Lynn! Card rating: *** 1/4 Backstage Notes: Another solid matchup has been booked for Locked up as AJ Styles has asked for a 6 man tag match against New Europe. President Jerry Lawler has confirmed the match will take place as Lover, Psicosis and AJ will take on Nigel, Doug Williams and Harry Smith. Next weeks main event will be Raven vs Samoa Joe. These two have never met in the ring, but Raven has had a long documented feud with Jun Akiyama that goes back to October of 2001. Jun and Samoa Joe trained together in Japan back in May, and Raven wants to see what Joe has learned. Things have not been going well for Victor Quinonez. First he loses Universo 2000 and this week the SAT's have left his side. Vampiro is the only man he has left. It looks like the demise of the MexiCANS is happening right before our eyes and Vampiro has been to busy sticking his nose in New Jack and Taz business back at Heatwave to realize all his allies are gone! Next weeks program is set to be a big one. We know about the main event of Raven vs Samoa Joe but we will also see CM Punk, Vampiro and Nigel McGuinness in action. Rating: *** Vampiro gets the victory tonight and tells Konnan that next week will mark the end of their life long feud. Someone is leaving on a stretcher and they won't be seen again. Vic Quinonez said that he came into this company with one man under contract. That man was Vampiro. Vampiro is all he needs to end the career of Konnan and his LAX friends! Interview: New Jack claims he has earned respect as champion (New Jack hits the ring) New Jack comes to the ring with his friends PG-13 and former tag partner Shark Boy with him. New Jack says he has problems with what people think of him as the champion. New Jack says he has held the title almost as long as anyone else in this company. He also brings up the fact that as champion he has already given title matches to Samoa Joe, Nigel, Raven and now Taz. He talks about how Taz has had a title shot against everyone who has ever held the title and has yet to become champion. Jack then accepts the cage match challenge at Locked Up and states it will be Taz last title match as he has a list of guys waiting for a shot at the title. CM Punk pinned Rik Ratchet with the G.T.S. in 0:06:47. Rating: ** 3/4 Low Ki came out to join Dave Brown at the announcers table. He said that Jerry Lawler has officially made the first match in the best of 7 a falls count anywhere match. Low-Ki goes on to say that he will show his hardcore side at Locked Up. Nigel McGuinness pinned Chad Austin after a short lariat in 0:03:39. Rating: *** Through out the match Nigel kept calling out AJ to pay close attention. It didn't take long for the leader of New Europe to take out his opponent. Nigel looks to be in great shape to lead his stable into 6 man tag warefare. Interview: Konnan hypes up next weeks Main Event! (Konnan joins Dave Brown at Ringside) Dave Brown asks Konnan his thoughts about next weeks HUGE Main Event.. the stretcher match against his livelong rival Vampiro. Konnan says that his path has crossed with Vampiro many times since he's joined the USWA. One of the main reasons he joined was the rid of Vic Quinonez. After the match at Triplemania he knew that his career in the USWA would always be based on the accomplishments of Vampiro. Konnan felt that he finally beat his rival when he won the Global Title from him in Japan. He thought that he took him to the limits at the King of the Death Tournament, but he didn't and Vampiro went on to victory. Konnan says the end of the war will take place next week in Chattanooga, TN in the Stretcher match, and when he defeats Vamprio Victor Quinonez will finally be gone from the USWA! Trevor Murdoch pinned Pitbull 1 after a reverse neckbreaker in 0:13:53. Rating: **** [James Storm interfered against Pitbull 1.] The feud between Trevor Murdoch and Americans Most wanted against Sandman and the Pitbulls continues tonight as James Storm helps Murdoch gain a victory over Pitbull 1 tonight in Jonesboro. Interview: Jerry Lynn reaches out to Too Cold Scorpio Jerry Lynn hits the ring and says he has a message for 2 Cold. Lynn says that he respects 2 Cold for the victory last week and that he understands that it should be the end of his rematches for the X title, but he can't help but notice that their matches were classics between veterans of the USWA. Lynn then asks Scorpio for a singles match next week. He doesn't expect 2 cold to put the title on the line, but he wants a 1 on 1 matchup with a special guest referee. Samoa Joe and Raven battled to a double countout in 0:16:36. Rating: *** 1/2 In our main event nothing was resolved in this match. Raven told Joe during the match he was paying for the sinns of Jun Akiyama, but nobody really knows what that means. Nobody ever really knows what Raven is taking about! Joe and Raven brawled to the outside when the ref had no choice but to count both men out. No rematch has been signed, but these two have shown in the ring that the standard rules will not apply in this rivalry! Card rating: *** 1/2 Backstage Notes: So we learned that Raven holds a grudge on Samoa Joe because he is friends with the man Raven feuded with earlier this year, Jun Akiyama. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for this one. 2 Cold Scorpio and Lynn WILL have another match before the summer is over. Next week Scorpio and Jerry Lynn with a special guest referee. New Jack has accepted a cage match with Taz with the title on the line at Locked Up! We are still 2 weeks away from the big Locked Up show from Knoxville, TN but next weeks Velocity will feature two big matches as Too Cold Scorpio takes on Jerry Lynn and our main event of Vampiro vs Konnan in a Stretcher match. South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) defeated Alan Stone and Dean Jablonski when Crazy defeated A. Stone by disqualification in 0:15:03. Rating: ** 1/2 (Chet Jablonski no-showed.) Universo 2000 has ended his relationship with Victor Guerrero and has started a new tag team with Super Crazy. They looked good in tag action tonight. Bobby Duncum Jr. pinned Mike Lozansky with the Full Nelson Slam in 0:05:52. Rating: ** 1/4 Another impressive victory for Bobby Duncum Jr. This bigman has had two USWA matches to date and has impressed USWA officials. Jerry Lawler has said that Bobby Duncum will have a match at Locked Up! The Sandman pinned James Storm after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:07:43. Rating: ** 1/2 Interview: Lance Wright presents Hype Central! ::It's all the way live, by Coolio plays in the background:: Lance Wright tells fans this is their last chance to purchase tickets to USWA's Locked up on September 1st in Knoxville! Everyone knows about the Main Event which will pit current USWA champion New Jack in a cage against the one man crime spree Taz! Lance takes us to comments from the champ New Jack. Jack tells Taz that he has defended the title all summer long and that when they meet in the cage JACK is the one who will have the advantage, because violence is something he knows all too well. Lance returns to run down another match we just heard about 2 Cold Scorpio putting the X-title on the line against Jerry Lynn in a 30 minute match. Match with Special Referee Steve Bradley: Jerry Lynn pinned Too Cold Scorpio with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:06:19. Rating: *** -With The first ever USWA X-Division champion as the special guest ref, Lynn was able to defeat current champion 2 Cold Scorpio! After the match both men shook hands and Lynn asked 2 Cold for one last shot at the X-title in Knoxville, TN at Locked up! 2 Cold accepted said the only way to finish this feud would be to have a 30 minute Iron Man Match! Stretcher Match: Konnan defeated Vampiro in 1:24:48. Rating: **** 1/4 [Victor Quinonez interfered against Konnan.] [Taz runs in and chokes out Vampiro] In what can only be thought of as REVENGE from Heatwave, Taz took it upon himself to hit the ring and help Konnan defeat Vampiro, sending Victor Quinonez OUT of the USWA for good! The MexiCANS stable has been disbanded and Vampiro wants Taz in the ring! Taz will still have his title shot and outside interference shouldn't be a problem in the cage! Card rating: *** 1/4 |
SeanH529 | Posted on 08/01/09 at 02:44:14 USWA Locked Up 2002: Knoxville, TN September 1st, 2002 Attendance: 6,200 Interview: Jerrry Lawler announces 5 city tour of England for September! Bobby Duncum Jr. pinned Bobby Blaze with the Full Nelson Slam in 0:08:09. Rating: ** 3/4 The show opener saw Knoxville legend Bobby Blaze make an appearance, and unfortunatley go down to Bobby Duncum Jr. BDJ has been racking up a few wins on the show openers and mid cards, and I don't think it will be long until we see someone asking BDJ for his services. Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: CM Punk pinned Low-Ki with the G.T.S. in 0:11:03. Rating: *** CM Punk wins a brutal match over Low-Ki and takes a step in the right direction for a title shot. Both men will face off again in Sheffield on September 14th, so these two haven't seen the last of eachother. Trevor Murdoch and James Storm defeated The Pitbulls (Pitbull 1 and Pitbull 2) when J. Storm pinned Pitbull 2 after a spinebuster slam in 0:07:37. Rating: ** 1/2 (Chris Harris no-showed.) No reason has been given as to why Chris Harris wasn't in the match tonight. James Storm came to the ring with Trevor Murdoch, and they got the victory, but Storm seemed upset and we would have to think it would be because of Harris no show. AMW was in a good position to become the number one contenders to the tag titles, but this no show on a major card is going to set them back. Lawler and Jarrett have stated they will not put titles on the line just to have it booked on a show. Teams will need to step up and show they deserve a shot, and so far nobody in the USWA has been able to do that. New Europe (Doug Williams, Harry Smith and Nigel McGuinness) defeated Latin Lover, AJ Styles and Psicosis when Williams defeated L. Lover by countout in 0:18:07. Rating: *** New Europes 3 man team looked good tonight and took a beating to AJ Styles. They have it out for him and it showed tonight. This match ended in count out after the match was basically turning into a brawl and the ref lost control. AJ Styles had to be helped back to the locker room. Christopher Daniels defeated Ultimo Guerrero via pinfall in 0:08:05. Rating: *** (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) Daniels finally gives Guerrero his Global shot, which was promised by former USWA manager Vic Quinonez. It didnt make much of a difference how long he had to wait for that title shot, Daniels got the victory and looks really good going into a HUGE title defense in England when he defends against Nigel Mcguinness. Iron Man Match: Jerry Lynn beat Too Cold Scorpio 11 falls to 7: x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:10:01 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:14:32 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:18:52 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:21:54 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:23:45 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:27:24 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:30:14 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:33:35 x Scorpio beat Lynn via a Frankensteiner in 0:37:26 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:39:06 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:43:20 x Scorpio beat Lynn via a German suplex in 0:45:19 x Lynn beat Scorpio via a springboard cross body press in 0:46:43 x Lynn beat Scorpio via pinfall in 0:48:53 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:50:41 x Lynn beat Scorpio via the Cradle Piledriver in 0:53:08 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:55:47 x Scorpio beat Lynn via the Flying Scorpio Splash in 0:57:52 x time limit expired (Scorpio and Lynn) in 1:00:00 Rating: *** 3/4 (Jerry Lynn won the X-Division Title.) Jerry Lynn gets the victory after Too Cold seemed to wear down after the 30 minute mark. Lynn won the title and had his hand raised by X-Division pioneer Steve Bradley. 2 Cold got up and shook hands with the new X division champion. Cage Match: Taz pinned New Jack after a Thesz press in 0:13:02. Rating: **** 1/4 (Taz won the Heavyweight Title.) The Main Event lived up to its hype as the match of the night as we crowned a NEW USWA Heavyweight champion! Taz finally wins the big match and is the new USWA champion. No interference by either Konnan or Vampiro, but most are already speculating after Taz choked out Vampiro last week, he will be the first in line for a title shot! Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: Backstage Notes: -Taz finally winning the title takes the USWA in a new direction, ending the New Jack era as champion. Nobody really knows what this means for the career of New Jack in the USWA. He has always said he didn't care about the belt. After Taz left the ring and the show came to an end, the fans in Knoxville gave Jack a standing ovation while leaving the ring. -The 5 show tour of England is going to be a way to promote the only powerful stable left in the USWA, New Europe. It has been announced after the show that Velocity TV will take place in Liverpool and will feature the entire team of New Europe with Nigel, Doug Williams, Harry Smith, Ulf Herman and Alex Shelly taking on Konnan, Shocker, Latin Lover, Psicosis and Ultimo Guerrero! Two other main events have been announced which include AJ Styles vs Nigel Mcguinness 1 on 1 in Sheffield and Nigel Mcguiness vs Christopher Daniels for the Global Title ending the tour in London! That match has a lot of USWA insiders thinking match of the year! -The 2 Cold Scorpio/Jerry Lynn x title Iron man match did not live up to the expectations that USWA officials had. Scorpio seemed to run out of gas at the 30 minute mark, and some feel the Iron Man match should of had a 30 minute time limit. -Chris Harris no show really hurts AMW's tag title chances. After taking a look at the Tag Team Rankings no team really falls into the category of title worthy. The USWA would rather not defend the titles than continue to give random teams title shots. Someone is going to need to step up and take on that division. |

Dissolve to a shot outside the arena in Liverpool, where New Europe is entering the building to a huge ovation from the live crowd. Mike Lozansky pinned Bobby Fish with the Tiger Bomb in 0:07:07. Rating: *** In our opening bout of the evening Mike Lozansky defeated newcomer Bobby Fish. The match was a great opener and gave the crowd it's first taste of the USWA action. Both men were given a standing ovation after the match. Interview: Vampiro comments on upcoming fight with Taz in Manchester Highlights of the Interview: Cory Maclin asks Vampiro his thoughts on Taz interfering with his match back in Tennessee and basically ending the USWA career of manager Vic Quinonez. Vampiro says he knew he would have it coming to him after his attack on Taz during his first title shot back at Heatwave. In the back of his mind, he was happy that Vic is gone because he was only in business for himself, not his talent. The talent he managed were past the point in their career where they needed his services and he was better off sticking to managing wrestlers on the undercard. Vampiro goes on to say that if he wanted to climb the cage and distract Taz at Locked Up, he could have, but with his title shot coming up in Manchester he doesn't want anymore interference to be blamed on the outcome of his match. Vampiro says that now that New Jack is out of the way, and out of the title picture going to find himself somewhere in the ghettos of Atlanta, GA he is stating his claim to the number one contender spot and won't be leaving Europe without the USWA Heavyweight Title! Interview: Chris Harris is confronted by James Storm and Trevor Murdoch Backstage Highlights: Chris Harris is headed to his dressing room when Trevor Murdoch and James Storm stop him in the hallway. James wants to know what his problem is not showing up for their tag title shot in Knoxville, Tn. Harris said that he didn't feel the team was ready for the shot and didn't want to take part in it. James asked if he wants to continue this Americas Most Wanted team or what? Harris said that he thinks that the team needs to get back on top of things and wants to talk to Lawler about booking a match for them next week in Sheffield! He wants to prove that the team is ready for that title shot once and for all. Val Venis pinned Steve Madison after a spinebuster slam in 0:03:50. Rating: ** 1/4 The USWA debut of former WWF star Val Venis took place tonight with a big win. Val has always been a great international wrestler and brings some more credibility to the USWA roster. PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated Incoherence (Frightmare and Hallowicked) when J.C. Ice pinned Frightmare with the Hubcap in 0:08:28. Rating: ** 3/4 PG-13 gets a victory over a young team Incoherence. A great match with a brutal ending with JC blasted Frightmare in the head with a hubcap. PG-13 looked strong tonight and are trying to build up some credibility to become number one contenders to the tag titles. Interview: Jerry Lynn discusses the Iron Man match and the future... Interview Highlights: Jerry Lynn heads to the interview area with Dave Brown and announced that the Iron Man Match was one of the hardest things he's ever been apart of. Lynn said even when they extended the match from the original 30 minute time limit to 60, he was in the zone and able to come out as the X-Division champion once again. Lynn said that it has been a hell of a summer series and that Too Cold will NOT get a chance to recapture the gold! The fans were not happy to hear that. Steve Bradley came down to the ring and told Lynn that his victory was a classic X-division match and he brought back a lot of respect for the title. Bradley then has a message for Scorpio and tells him that if he ever thinks he's going to get another shot at the gold he's going to have to earn it! Raven pinned Justin Cage with the Evenflow DDT in 0:10:15. Rating: **** 1/4 Raven was back in action tonight with a victory as Samoa Joe looked on from the enterance way. Raven looked over to Joe and screamed at Joe "Bring me what I want" The last we saw with this rivalry ended in a double count out. We don't know what the future holds for these two. South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when Universo 2000 pinned Jose Maximo after a kick to the head in 0:06:36. Rating: ** 3/4 South of the Border looked good again in tag action with a victory over S.A.T.'s. The new tag team looked good and they are another great team that has a shot at the tag titles. Elimination Match: Latin American Exchange (Latin Lover and Shocker), Konnan, Psicosis and Ultimo G uerrero beat New Europe (Alex Shelley, Doug Williams, Harry Smith and Nigel McG uinness) and Ulf Hermann 5 falls to 0: x U. Guerrero beat Williams via a German suplex in 0:04:10 x Psicosis beat N. McGuinness via the Flying Legdrop in 0:12:32 x Shocker beat Hermann via disqualification in 0:17:55 x Konnan beat Smith via a spinebuster slam in 0:27:04 x U. Guerrero beat A. Shelley via a spinebuster slam in 0:29:22 Survivors: Konnan, Shocker, Latin Lover, Psicosis, Ultimo Guerrero Rating: *** In our Main Event of the evening Konnan and his crew get a solid 5-0 win over New Europe. After the match the crowd booed Konnan and his latino partners out of the building. Konnan tried to tell the crowd that Nigel is nothing but a piece of garbage, but they would hear nothing of it. Security had to help Konnan and his crew out of the ringside area. Nigel took the mic and told the fans that that is not why he came to Europe. on this tour, to lose as bad as they did. Nigel said he has come to headline this tour so he can take away that global title from Christopher Daniels! The crowd cheered as a bloodied and battered New Europe left the ringside area. Card rating: *** Backstage Notes: The first stop on the 5 show tour of England took place today in Liverpool for a Velocity TV taping. Don't look for the team of Incoherence to be with the USWA on a regular basis. Tonight was a 1 time shot. They have not come to an agreement on a contract with the company, but I know the USWA is looking to sign them for a short run. We saw the debut of Bobby Fish tonight. USWA management is high on this guy and are looking to put him in a program with AJ Styles. The Jerry Lynn-Too Cold Feud is not even close to ending.. as a matter of fact two superstars have just signed contracts with the USWA that will be built into this feud by the time we end the European tour. USWA has been trying to reach out to some more top tier free agent wresters to join the company. Konnan, Vampiro, New Jack some of the others have made a sucessful run at the top of the card in 2002, but the company feels it needs more star power to compete for the heavyweight title. Val Venis has signed a long term deal with the company and is just starting to get his feet wet. We do believe the longterm plan is to put him in a program with some of the international stars due to his popularity over seas. It wil be announced in the upcoming shows, but the big final show of the tour, which takes place in London will feature a 6 team battle royal for number one contendership to the tag titles currently held by Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel. |

Nigel has 1/2 of the Tag Titles around his waist. The fans of Sheffield treat New Europe like rock stars. Nigel takes the mic and tells AJ that tonight in their first ever one on one encounter, he is going to teach him a lesson in front of this great crowd. Nigel goes on to say how A.J. stuck his nose in his business when they were giving Latin Lover and Psicosis the beatdowns that they deserved. Nigel threatened Colt Cabana that if he tries to come out and save his friend AJ, Ulf Hermon is going to do what he's paid to do, and thats put Cabana in the hospital! Nigel then gives the fans a guarante that he will leave the ring tonight a winner, and will leave the UK with the Global Honor title to end the tour. Christopher Daniels pinned Latin Lover with the Spicy Drop in 0:07:32. Rating: **** (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) Christopher Daniels retains the Global title over Latin Lover in a fantastic match. On the way back up the ramp Daniels looked into the TV camera and told Nigel, CM Punk and Low-Ki that all the contenders to his title will eventually feel the wrath of the fallen angel! Interview: Konnan comes to the ring to run down the fans. Konnans music hits and he walks to the ring on his own to Boos from the crowd. Konnan laughs and says that he just doesn't understand how the UK fans have such a lack of respect for him, AJ styles, South of the Border and all the other international stars, but they have no problems cheering on Nigel and his thugs. ::Fans started to throw things into the ring after that comment:: Konnan tries to begin another sentence but New Europes theme hits and out comes Doug Williams who tells Konnan that these fans know what true athletes are all about and they don't appreciate Konnan because he is a joke! Konnan tells Williams that he is a former USWA Global champion and thats more gold than Williams has ever had around his waist. Williams tells Konnan that by the time his run in the USWA is over he will have had more titles than Konnan could even dream of. Konnan basically retaliates telling Williams he better watch his back, because he never knows what to expect with LAX! Val Venis pinned Shocker after a fisherman suplex in 0:06:30. Rating: *** 3/4 Val Venis looked good in action tonight. He continues to take on good competition. Shocker was no match for Val in on his second USWA match. :Hype Central has details on The European Cup! Lance Wright welcomes us to HYPE CENTRAL! PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when J.C. Ice pinned Joel Maximo with the Hubcap in 0:14:05. Rating: ** 1/2 Wolfie D and JC Ice have put together a nice little winning streak since the European Tour has started. Although they still have a long way to go, some are wondering if they might become contenders to the tag titles held by Nigel and Ultimo Guerrero. Interview: Taz has prerecorded comments for Vampiro ::A Video of Taz from his gym plays for the crowd:: In the video Taz explains to the fans that he is still doing publicity back in the states in the mid west for his world title reign and will be flying into the tour for his first title defense against Vampiro. Taz said he isn't taking Vampiro lightly since he has been interfering in his matches throughout the summer. Taz goes on to tell Vampiro that in the title match in Manchester they will have no excuses. Someone is going to lose and no interference will be happening in the match. Taz guarantess that it is going to be a 1 on 1 matchup because he is bringing in an enforcer to make sure that none of Vampiros old flunkies can interfere! The Pain Game (Bull Pain and Ox Harley) defeated Rik Ratchet and Shark Boy when Bull Pain defeated Ratchet by disqualification in 0:13:06. Rating: ** 1/4 Another new tag team in the USWA, Harley and Bull Pain win in a squash match. Bull and Ox are some big nasty guys that don't mind swinging a chair to get a victory. They were sucessful here tonight. Interview: Samoa Joe responds to Ravens threats from last week. Backstage Corey Maclund catches up with Samoa Joe and asks him to respond to Ravens demands from last week. Samoa Joe tells Corey that he knows that Raven wants to face Jun Akiyama again. He knows that Raven feels that his best days were almost a year ago when he won the heavyweight title from Akiyama at A Night to Remember, but Raven needs to understand that he isn't coming back, not now, not ever. His mentor Misawa has asked him to stay in Japan back in February and nobody has heard a word from him since. Corey tells Joe that Raven isnt going to let up, because he knows that Joe is the man that can convince him to return. Joe responds saying that his focus is on his USWA career and he needs to continue his quest to rise above the rest of the competition and eventually get a shot at a singles title. Bobby Blaze and Bobby Duncum Jr. went to a no contest with America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm) when Chris Harris superkicked James Storm in 0:09:24. Rating: ** 1/2 [Bobby Duncum Jr. attacks Bobby Blaze and Chris Harris turns on James Storm] In what some are calling the biggest news of the tour, Americas Most wanted is no more. Harris said before the match that this would be a reunited AMW that would finally win back their tag team championships and go on to be the best tag team in the history of the company. During the match that all changed. BDJ gave Bobby Blaze a clothesline from hell and Chris Harris superkicked James Storm when he wasn't looking. This led to BDJ and Harris hugging in the middle of the ring and continuing to focus the attacks on James Storm. Trevor Murdoch came to the aid of Storm but was also taken out bot Harris and BDJ. USWA security and officials had to make their way down to get them to leave the ring. Texas Death Match: Low-Ki pinned CM Punk with the Ki Crusher in 0:20:33. Rating: ** 1/2 Low-Ki evens out the best of 7 series at 1-1 with his victory tonight in Sheffield. Christopher Daniels has his eyes all over the USWA as he will be defending his title in a HUGE match against Nigel in London, and he knows the winner of the best of 7 will have an opportunity to fight for the Global Title as well. Nigel McGuinness defeated AJ Styles by countout in 0:15:12. Rating: ** 3/4 In our Main Event of the evening Nigel McGuinness was able to escape AJ Styles defeating him by countout at the 15 minute mark. The match was back and forth until AJ took the upperhand. When it looked like AJ was about to hit the Styles Clash Harry Smith ran out to distract AJ. He threw Nigel a pair of brass knucks and took off backstage before the ref could see it. Nigel took the knucks and smashed AJ with them as he went crumbling to the concrete floor. The ref began his 10 count as AJ was counted out Nigel was also laying in the ring. Nigel gets the victory, but as soon as AJ has a chance to review the tape I'm sure he will have more to say about this one! Card rating: ** 3/4 Match observations: Backstage Notes: Another solid show from the USWA. Nigel was the hero in Sheffield and put on a great main event with AJ Styles. The AMW breakup didn't take long. It was only a few months ago that these guys were USWA Tag Team Champions. Once Chris Harris suffered that knee injury and the titles were stripped from them, these two were never able to get back on track. Trevor Murdoch is just a casualty of war in this one. We don't know much about this new alliance of Harris and Bobby Duncum Jr, but it is one that looks strong. We did hear that Chris Harris has asked for some time during the European Cup Tournament to explain his actions so hopefully we will get more information on all of this on the next show. Taz has announced that he is going to bring a special enforcer to the ring with him for his match with Vampiro. Nobody has a clue who he might be talking about. Last time we checked Taz has no friends and doesn't ask anything from anyone! It will be a surprise to all of us what he ends up doing to keep outside interference from hitting the ring during his very first title defense. Vampiro is one of the top contenders and former Global, and Tag Tag Team Title holder. The fans should be in for a great main event in Manchester. |
SeanH529 | Posted on 08/29/09 at 16:52:48 Results of European Cup one night Tournament: Interview: Chris Harris and BDJ interrupt the opening ceremony. As Jeff Jarrett, Dave Brown and Jerry Lawler begin to introduce all the members of the European Cup to the audience, Chris Harris music plays and out come Harris and Bobby Duncom Jr. Harris takes the mic and tells the fans he has something to say and doesn't plan on staying in the building to watch a tournament that he isn't in. Chris tells the fans that he knew that AMW's best days were behind them when he went out with a knee injury and the titles were stripped from them during the Japan tour earlier this year. Instead of making sure his partner was in good shape, James decided he was going to pursue his singles career against AJ Styles ! From that point on Americas Most Wanted became soft, and basically were demoted from Tag Team Title matches, to 6 man tags with The Sandman and the Pitbulls. Harris said he knew he needed to make a change and that James Storm was the one who had to go. He was not the same partner that he came to the USWA with back in 2000. If they only won the titles once in two years, it was time to move on. Harris said he was impressed with the texas big man BDJ and knew that he needed that kind of powerhouse in his corner to compete with the likes the other teams in the USWA. Harris said that James and himself have been in the USWA for a long time, and he says that the company is no longer big enough for the both of them, so Harris challenged James Storm to a loser leaves the USWA match!! Harris tells the fans to enjoy their stupid tournament and throws the mic to the canvas as BDJ and himself walk out of the building. [Round 1]: Nigel McGuinness pinned CM Punk with the Jawbreaker Lariat in 0:08:57. Rating: *** 1/4 In a great opening match of the tournament, the local favorite Nigel McGuinness gets the pinfall with a nasty Jawbreaker Lariat over CM Punk! Not only does this get Nigel into the second round of the tournament, but this is a great demonstration of why Nigel is one of the top contenders to the singles titles in the USWA. [Round 1]: Christopher Daniels pinned AJ Styles with the Spicy Drop in 0:12:33. Rating: *** 3/4 The current Global champion takes a victory over the Phenominal AJ Styles! Although I think AJ would of loved to have a chance to get his hands on Nigel again, we will get a sneak preview of our Main Event in London in the second round! Konnan came out and tripped up Williams. A fight broke out ringside when Williams went after him. The ref tried to get Williams back in the ring, but Dougs temper got the best of him when he shoved the ref to the ground and was DQed. Scorpio moves on to the 2nd round. [Semi-Finals]: Nigel McGuinness pinned Christopher Daniels with the Jawbreaker Lariat in 0:06:33. When the match was over Nigel took the mic and told Daniels that this was just a preview of what he was going to see in London! Rating: *** 1/2 In our ther Semi-Final match Scorpio defeated Low Ki to move onto the finals against European hero Nigel McGuinness. Scorpio wins the tournament and will get his chance at any title in the USWA! The question now is what title will he try to win? Card rating: *** 1/2 Match Observations Backstage Notes: 2 Cold gets the victory over Nigel in what many are calling an upset. Everyone in the company believes 2 Cold is going to use this victory to get another shot at the X-Division title currently held by Jerry Lynn. We got a chance to hear from Chris Harris for the first time and we now know what was on his mind when he ended the relationship with James Storm. Harris will meet James Storm in a match where the loser leaves the USWA! Nigels big win over the Global champion Christopher Daniels really turned some heads tonight. If Nigel is going to go for the title in London, tonight was a wakeup call to Daniels that he might be one of the more competitive opponents that he has ever faced! |

Backstage: Doug Williams attacks Konnan in the locker room and challenges him to a match in London MatchLoser-Leaves-Town Match: Chris Harris pinned James Storm with the Catatonic in 0:09:32. Rating: *** 1/2 In the loser leaves town match Chris Harris defeated James Storm with some help from BDJ. A bloody and beaten James Storm was left laying in the ring and must now leave the USWA! With James Storm out of the way, there is no telling what Harris and BDJ are going to do. Interview: 2 Cold Scorpio reveals which title he wants to challenge for! ::Scorpio comes out to a respectable response from the crowd:: Scorpio says he knew after he lost that Iron Man Match that he was going to need to do something to gain his credibility back. He goes on to explain his history in the USWA, and that he is one of the top names in this company. Scorpio knows that he should be a contender for the heavyweight title, but he can't live knowing how he lost that Iron Man match to Lynn, and he is demanding that the X Division Title be on the line in a TOWEL match tomorrow night in London! Each wrestler will pick someone to hold the towel for them and the match won't end until someones corner man throws in the towel! Special Enforcer: Jerry Lawler: Taz made Vampiro submit to the STF in 0:18:00. Rating: *** 1/2 (Taz retained the Heavyweight Title.) In our MAIN EVENT of the evening TAZ gets the submission victory over Vampiro clean in the middle of the ring! Jerry Lawler offered up his services to be the special enforcer to make sure that anyone who made their way down to the ring would be "delt with" Knowing Lawler is the President of the company not a sole made their way down to the ring and Taz was able to focus on the victory and win his first title defense. After the match, when Vampiro was back to his feet, he had a stare down with Jerry Lawler. Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: Backstage Notes: Great card in Manchester with the first ever title defense from Taz. It looks like Vampiro is not happy with Jerry Lawler and we will hear more about that in the upcoming weeks. James Storm is officially done with the USWA. This could mean trouble for the rest of the USWA with Harris and BDJ running the place. 2 Cold will get another X title match in London tomorrow night and it should be another classic from these two. The USWA is in negotiations for a 2nd TV show that will be taped with Velocity TV The first episode is set to air on October 12th, 2002. We will have more information on the program in the upcoming weeks. |

Backstage: AJ Styles walks into Colt Cabanas locker room giving him a small pep talk before his match with Alex Shelley. AJ tells Colt that the New Europe is Harsh and Harry Smith beating AJ yesterday was not a fluke. He got the best Of him that night. Cabana says he has been trying to get back on the big stage in the USWA for awhile now and he's excited to be opening the card in London. He needs this victory bad! Alex Shelley pinned Colt Cabana with the Shell Shock in 0:11:43. Rating: *** 3/4 Things didn't go Cabanas way in this one and he seemed very frustrated about it. AJ Styles came out to help Cabana back to the locker room after his defeat. First Blood Match: Low-Ki defeated CM Punk in 0:04:34. Rating: ** 1/2 The Third match in this best of 7 went to Low-Ki and gives him the 2-1 lead on Punk. Punk was busted open when Low-Ki exposed the steel turnbuckle and smashed Punks head into it. Low Ki has momentum going into match 4, which will take place on the October 5th edition of Velocity TV. Doug Williams pinned Konnan with the Northern Lights Suplex in 0:09:12. Rating: *** 3/4 Doug Williams with a TON of fan support behind him gets the victory over Konnan with help from his tag partner Harry Smith. This match was more than what anyone expected when it came to actual wrestling. With Harry Smith coming out as the distracter the entire match Konnan was more than off his game. Williams victory puts New Europe at 2-0 on the night. 12-Man Tag Team Battle Royal: Universo 2000 and Super Crazy won a 6-team Battle Royal: x Universo 2000 defeated Bull Pain (partner: Ox Harley) after a flying bodypress in 0:00:33 x Universo 2000 defeated Smith (partner: Doug Williams) after a spinebuster slam in 0:00:40 x Universo 2000 threw out C. Ice (partner: Wolfie D) after a kick to the thigh in 0:05:53 Rating: ** 3/4 (Ulf Hermann no-showed.) In the 6-Man Battle Royal to determine the number one contenders, South of the Border will be leaving Europe with a chip on their shoulder, knowing that a tag title match is in their future. Universo 2000 just went crazy in this match getting rid of a member of every team and leaving PG-13's J.C. Ice for Super Crazy to finish off. PG-13 had a little shoving contest with each other after the match, but in the end they hugged and left the ring area. Universo 2000 really turned some heads in this one. Towel Match: Too Cold Scorpio (w/Sean Waltman) defeated Jerry Lynn (w/Steve Bradley) with a Frankensteiner in 0:28:11. Rating: *** 1/4 (Too Cold Scorpio won the X-Division Title.) In one of the most highly anticipated matches of the night 2 Cold Scorpio once again becomes the X-Division champion in a WILD match. Nobody in the audience knew whom the towel holders would be going into this match. Jerry Lynn announced his friend Steve Bradley would be the one holding the towel for him. 2 Cold came out and shocked everyone when he brought out Jerry Lynn's bitter rival Sean Waltman. Everyone knows Waltman and Lynn started their careers facing one another throughout the Indy's, now Scorpio brings Waltman to the USWA! The match was back and forth until Scorpio hits Lynn with his Frankensteiner and Bradley throws in the towel. The match was over, but Lynn wasn't exactly in any pain. Bradley jumps in the ring and Lynn picks up the towel asking Bradley why he threw it in. Bradley sits there as Waltman and Scorpio attack Lynn from behind. Bradley doesn't try to help his friend, instead, while Lynn is laid out, Bradley climbs the ropes and hits his moonsault on Lynn! Waltman, Scorpio and Bradley raise each others hands as the Ref drapes the X-Division title around Scorpio's waist. AJ Styles pinned Latin Lover with the Styles Clash in 0:07:43. Rating: *** 1/4 Styles gets a victory over the Latin Lover in some friendly competition. Christopher Daniels pinned Nigel McGuinness after a waistlock suplex in 0:10:40 . Rating: *** 1/4 (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) In our Main Event of the evening Christopher Daniels does the impossible by getting a victory over Nigel McGuinness in his own hometown. The fans were ready to riot and Daniels took off before any trouble could start, but Nigel couldn't seal the deal and get the victory over our current Global Champion Christopher Daniels! Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Vampiro pinned Jerry Lawler after a power bomb in 0:10:06. Rating: *** In an impromptu matchup, Vampiro gave Jerry Lawler a beat down he might never forget. After the Global match Vampiro hit the ring and took the mic stating he wouldn't be leaving the arena until Lawler showed his face! Lawler comes out and Vampiro tells Jerry that he has no business being at the aid of Taz, because he is supposed to be the President of this company. Vampiro tells the ref to ring the bell and that if Lawler wanted to stick his nose in his personal business he better be prepared to suffer the consequences like any other wrestler in the USWA. The bell rings and we had a falls count anywhere MAIN EVENT! Lawler tried to hold his own but this match was just to brutal for a man who hasn't wrestled in over a year and a half. Vampiro stood over a bloody Jerry Lawler and told him that this is only phase one of the beating he has in store for him. Card rating: *** 1/4 Match observations: Backstage Notes: We wrapped up the European tour tonight with our big show in London and had several major events take place in this one. First, to the shock of almost everyone in the company Christopher Daniels defeated Nigel to retain his Global title. I think everyone was sure that Nigel was being gift wrapped the title here, but Daniels proved why he is one of the best wrestlers in the company, and this victory really has people respecting him as the champion. It's pretty clear that Daniels will most likely be the opponent who is defending the Global Title against the winner of the CM Punk/ Low Ki Best of 7 series. The X-Division Title picture has just heated up to new extremes. It seems that 2 Cold has the services of Sean Waltman and Steve Bradley at his side and with that kind of protection it might be hard for Lynn to get that title back anytime soon. Coming from the offices I can tell you another former USWA title holder has signed a new contract with the USWA and will probably end up getting involved in this new twist on the Scorpio/Jerry Lynn feud. The final major storyline would be the total destruction of our President Jerry Lawler. When Lawler agreed to help Taz keep outside interference out of the title match with Vampiro, I don't think he figured to be a target of Vampiro, but that's exactly how it's gone down. Lawler was bloody and beaten and with all this nonsense going on, I'm sure the OWNER of the USWA, Jeff Jarrett is going to have to comment on this matter. Rumor has it that Lawler might be out of action for awhile and that an interim president will be named. Some of the names floating around include Reggie B. Fine, Brickhouse Brown, Brian Christopher and even Buddy Landell! Jarrett is still very loyal to all the original members of the USWA and I wouldn't be surprised to see any or all of them make their way back to the company in some way or another. We will be headed back to the states for a Velocity TV taping on September 28th, and Jeff Jarrett will announce the Location for this years A Night to Remember! It's the USWA's version of WrestleMania! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 10/13/09 at 18:59:36 Just a quick update. I have not given up on the circuit. Still having problems due to deleting a card before I ran it. Oliver has my TNM zipped and hopefully i'll get it back this week and get rolling soon! ...that is if anyone is reading. :) |
JeepGuy | Posted on 10/13/09 at 21:21:57 Yes, someone is reading. My only complaint is there seems to be too many wrestlers involved. A smaller roster would make things easier to follow, in my opinion. |
SeanH529 | Posted on 10/13/09 at 21:54:02 You might be right. I've noticed while booking that I want to do more with Samoa Joe and Raven but can't really come up with many ideas or TV time to develop it. Its actually going to get worse before it gets better. I have 3 new guys that are coming in to play rolls in different feuds. Once I get my TNM fixed i am going to be taping a 2nd show called "Challenge" which will be short, but will develop a lot of the undercard guys. I can see what you're saying. I do have a very large roster right now. |
JeepGuy | Posted on 10/13/09 at 22:15:40 While it is great to have all these people at your disposal, having too much going on will take away from what is going on. Some of your wrestlers and storelines will get lost in the shuffle. Another thing to consider is that a huge roster leads to quicker burnout as you try to do something with everyone, causing you to write more and more to accomodate everyone on the roster. For what it is worth, settle on a fixed roster if at all possible. Anywhere from 20 to 30 wrestlers is a good number to work with. |

The next reporter asks Taz if he is looking ahead of his mandatory title defense at Halloween Havoc? Taz tells the reporter he only looks toward his next opponent. (Backstage) Ultimo Guerrero stops Nigel backstage and tells him that he understands he is down about his loss to Daniels and not winning the global title, but he is one half of the tag team champions. A Title that Nigel has put on the back burner because he doesn't like his partner, but the fact of the matter is, the USWA tag team division is getting stronger every week, and they have yet to hit the ring together and prepare for their upcoming title defense at Halloween Havoc. Guerrero asks Nigel to put his singles career on hold and focus on defending the tag titles with him. Nigel says Guerrero is right. He says that a lot of distractions have been in his way since he was named #1 contender to the Global title, and the European tour put a lot of pressure on him to become the champion. He tells Guerrero that he is going to talk to Jeff Jarrett right now to try to get a tag match booked for next weeks Velocity show in Green Bay, WI! After JC and Wolfie goad Crazy and Universo into the match they finally accept and put their title shot on the line next week! Chris Harris and Bobby Duncum Jr. defeated Chad Austin and Rik Ratchet when Duncum pinned Ratchet with the Full Nelson Slam in 0:07:41. Rating: *** 1/4 (Alan Stone no-showed.) Delirious defeated Shark Boy when Shark Boy passed out in the Cobra Stretch in 0:09:47. Rating: *** 1/4 A newcomer to the USWA, masked wrestler Delirious gets the win over Shark Boy. Interview: CM Punk has words for Low-KI CM Punk talks about how Low Ki has taken a 2-1 lead in their best of 7 match, but he isn't worried. CM Punk says that when you sign on to take on an opponent in a best of 7, he can't help but think of the days of his beloved Chicago Bulls. A best of 7 is a long and grueling process. People will doubt you or join your bandwagon in the days between each match. He doesn't let the talk of the fans and the dirt sheet writers let him lose focus, but in the end, like his 90's Bulls he will be the victorious! Card rating: *** 1/2 Match observations: Backstage Notes: Lance Russell: A big night of matches for the USWA which ends in the ultimate staredown between two of the toughest men in the company. Taz and Ulf Hermann looked each other dead in the eyes. No beating, no brawl, just a staredown between the champion, and the biggest man in the company. Chad Collyer has been brought into the company to add more competition to the X-Division. Bradley, 2 Cold, Lynn, Corino, Fish, AJ, Collyer, Shelly, Delirious, and Cabana are starting to bring the division to the forefront. CM Punk looked great in action tonight and he finally looks like he has a chance to take the series. Low-Ki and Punk are two of the best wrestlers in the company and something has to give in this series. Jerry Lynn's former tag team championship partner Steve Cornio has come back to the USWA to help even the odds against Scorpio and his boys. Corino will add another twist in this epic feud between Jerry Lynn and 2 Cold. Ahmead Johnson will be coming back to the USWA. Today we got our first look at him training for his wrestling comeback. It will be interesting to see what Johnson can do in the heavyweight title picture. Next week Velocity will tape the new show USWA Challenge in Milwaukee. We will hear from Taz, Vampiro will be in action for the first time since his beat down of Jerry Lawler, X-division competition and much more! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 11/06/09 at 17:08:01 Results of USWA Challenge Taped 10-12-2002 Milwaukee, WI Ahmed Johnson Promo (A video shows Ahmed Johnson running in his hometown of Pearl River Mississippi.) Ahmed stops running and takes a look into the camera. He talks about his career and how the last time he made a run in WCW he ended up recreating a tag team he had nothing to do with, in Harlem Heat 2000 with Stevie Ray. Ahmed says he is taking this comeback serious and that he wants to turn the Heavyweight Division upside down! (Again we hear a cell phone call. Ahmed answers, laughs and continues to run.) Bobby Fish pinned Mike Lozansky with the Falcon Arrow in 0:09:45. Rating: ** 3/4 In a rematch from a few weeks ago Lozansky gets a second chance at Bobby Fish, but was unable to get the victory. Fish looks really good in singles action and gets the first victory of USWA Challenge! Backstage Interview: Val Venis talks about New Europe. Val Venis is in his locker room when Lance Wright asks if he can get a statement about what happened at Velocity last week. Venis says that he saw an opportunity to make a name for himself in the USWA and he took it! He said that he is an international house hold name just like Vampiro, Scorpio, and all the others that are here in the USWA and felt he needed to do something to stand out here in the company! Lance Wright says that he is sure that everyone took notice of Val's guts to step into the ring with Ulf Hermann, but is wondering if Val thinks he has got himself in sticky situation with New Europe ready to attack and Taz not having his back. Val says hes a grown man and can fight his battles on his own if necessary and walks out of the interview. The Pain Game (Bull Pain and Ox Harley) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when Ox Harley pinned Jose Maximo with the Power Bomb in 0:07:10. Rating: ** 1/2 A big victory for the latest group of misfits in Ravens pocket. Ox Harley and Pull pain get a tag team win over the S.A.T.'s and continue to makes waves after their attack on Samoa Joe last week. In the ring: Steve Bradley challenges Jerry Lynn. (Steve Bradley comes to the ring and grabs a mic) Bradley tells the crowd that he isn't impressed with Steve Corino coming back to the USWA to help his fallen friend Jerry Lynn. Bradley says that people keep asking him why he turned his back on Lynn, and the simple answer is that Too Cold Scorpio is a USWA legend and Jerry Lynn isn't in the same class as Scorpio. Steve says that on a personal level, it bothered him when he returned to the USWA and people asked why he didn't step in the ring? Why he was sitting in the shadow of Jerry Lynn, well it's been a few years since he's competed fulltime with the USWA but he's back, and he wants a match with Lynn at Halloween Havoc! Colt Cabana pinned Alex Shelley with the Colt 45 in 0:07:11. Rating: *** In our Main Event of the evening Colt Cabana gets a little revenge on Alex Shelly of New Europe. Cabana is out to prove he belongs in the USWA, and todays big victory over Shelly is a great start for him to get his career back on track! Backstage Notes: Here is a quick update to all the action that is going to happen at USWA's first ever Halloween Havoc from Minneapolis, MN Main Event: 1. More matches will be announced on Velocity TV and the USWA website, but we know that Vampiro, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles are all scheduled to be apart of the 2002 Halloween Havoc card as we lead into the USWA's GRAND DADDY of em all A Night to Remember! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 11/07/09 at 14:49:45 Results of Velocity TV Milwaukee, WI 10.12.2002 Interview Chris Harris and BDJ ask Jarrett for an opponent Backstage: Chris Harris hunts down Jeff Jarrett and tells him that with Lawler out of action nobody seems to have anwers anymore! Jarrett tells him its complicated, but the USWA is interviewing several potential interim Presidents. Harris says that him and Bobby Duncum are looking to elevate the Tag Team Division. PG-13, South of the Border, Guerrero and McGuinness are just a few of the names running around here, and it's time that they get a crack at it. Jarrett tells Chris to slow down. He has yet to prove anything other than that they can attack from behind. If they want a match tonight thats perfect because their is a team here in the USWA that has asked to face you guys earlier today. ::Harris leaves the room confused trying to figure out who the team could be:: Vampiro pinned Steve Madison with the Vampiro Spike in 0:09:02. Rating: **** 1/4/b Steve Madison gave Vampiro a run at his money, but in the end the former Global champion gets the victory. During the match Dave Brown commented on Jerry Lawler, presidents of the USWA's condition. He said that Lawler has been released from the hospital and will be back here live on Velocity to discuss his future. Taz comments on New Europe and Val Venis (Taz sits in an empty room with a towel on his head) Everyone keeps askin "Why Taz? Why did you go out there and help Val Venis? Why did you get yourself involved with New Europe in the first place? Are you friends with Val? No no I'm not friends with VAL, As a matter of fact I think Val Venis is a joke, a made up character of good old Vinny Mac. Your names Sean Morley, and in this industry, outside this country it's one of the most respected names in Mexico, Europe and Japan, but hey if you want to pretend your some porn star, then have had it kid. My problem is with that big motherf**ker Ulf Hermann. I don't know what it is about these 7"0 freaks that feel it's necessary to try to end someones career when the match is over, but it's starting to piss me off. As a matter of fact, the entire attitude of New Europe thinking they are king sh*t around here is really starting to bother me, because last I looked I'M the one holding the strap! I'm the one who defeated New Jack and beat the man to BE the man. Back in the spring when that other big motherf*cker Bill Goldberg came into the company he took Ulf and beat his ass, I on the otherhand choked that S.O.B. Right out of town! What do you think I'm gonna do to that German freak at Halloween Havoc? I've waited my entire USWA career to get a little spotlight, and I'll be damned if Williams, Smith, and Ulf Hermann are going to take that away from me. Harry Smith you're a punk 20 year old kid who hasn't paid his dues in this business and lives off the name of his father, well here is a little bit of info, I'd choke your old man out if he was still alive! Sean, I heard your comments from Challenge, and as far as I'm concerned, I don't NEED to help you do sh*t, but if I get the opportunity to choke one of those bastards out in the middle of the ring, I'll be there. Bobby Fish pinned Justin Cage with the Falcon Arrow in 0:13:00. Rating: **** 1/4 Bobby Fish gets a big win in a great match against Justin Cage. Fish continues his winning ways and continues to move up the ladder in the USWA. USWA cameras caught newcomer Chad Collyer watching this matchup backstage on one of the monitors. Interview Low Ki asks Punk what he has left? (Low-Ki backstage gets interviewed by Lance Wright) Lance tells Low-Ki that CM Punks victory in the taped fist match in Green Bay has this series tied up at 2-2. Low Ki says that since May when they were forced to team in The Lord of the Ring competition CM Punk has been a thorn in his side. 2002 will be known as the year that either Low-Ki or CM Punk take their career to the next level. The question is which one of those wrestlers will it be? We've done taped fist, we've done a ladder match, Texas Death, What is it that you possibly have left? I'm getting a little sick of CM Punk and in Madison, Wisconsin in match #5, CM Punk won't be making it to Halloween Havoc! X-Division match Steve Bradley pinned Steve Corino with the Smashmouth in 0:12:30. Rating: *** 1/2 In a battle of former champions, former X-Division champ Bradley takes on former Tag Team champion Steve Corino. Superman looks like he is back and is in great shape. He looks better than he did in 2001 when he won the first ever X-Division title. Too Cold Scorpio is aligned with some of the best talent the X-Division has ever had, and Jerry Lynn might have his hands full with Bradley if he decided to take the challenge at Havoc. Backstage New Europe asks Nigel to get involved (Alex Shelley, Harry Smith and Doug Williams catch up with Nigel, who's watching tapes of old USWA tag team matches) Nigel shakes hands with his stablemates. Williams asks Nigel what he's doing? McGuinness says that he's just watching some film on South of the Border getting ready for the tag title defense. Williams asks Nigel if he realizes that Ulf has a shot at winning the Heavyweight title? Nigel says yea he has been watching but hes focused on retaining the only title that New Europe currently does hold, thats the tag team gold. Williams says that Val Venis and Taz have been pretty angry about the whole backstage attacks, the beatings after the bell, that kind of thing, and asks Nigel if he'll be in their corner tonight for the 3 on 1 Handicap match against Val Venis. Nigel says that his only focus is defending these titles with Ultimo Guerrero, and that if the match is 3 on 1 they shouldn't have a problem defeating Val. ::They continue to bicker back and forth till Nigel kicks them out so he can focus on tonights match, Williams storms out of the room frustrated with the leader of New Europe:: Nigel McGuinness and Ultimo Guerrero and Psicosis and Latin Lover battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: **** 1/4 In an amazing tag match Psicosis and Latin Lover hold their own against the tag team champions. The fans loved the matchup and chanted for 5 more minutes, but referee Bill Rush did not give it to them. Nigel didn't seem like he had his best out there tonight, and it's obvious that Nigel and Guerrero are still trying to get on the same page, but New Europe seems to be distracting McGuinness. Interview Christopher Daniels Christopher Daniels says that his victory over Nigel McGuinness in London is probably his most cherished match to date with the company. Defeating one of the guys thats been climbing the ladder of sucess as fast as Nigel has, really proves that Daniels is still one of the best in the world. As far as the next defense, he is contracted to defend the title at Havoc, and has been informed that Val Venis is going to get that Global Title shot. Personally, Daniels thinks that Val is being given a shot based on merits he has earned outside of the USWA, but he understands that because Daniels was pushed into the Global title picture upon his return to the USWA. At Halloween Havoc Daniels is expecting another great Global Honor Title match against a USWA rising star. The Sandman and Trevor Murdoch and Bobby Duncum Jr. and Chris Harris battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: ** 3/4 Duncum Jr, and Harris came to the ring, Harris asks who in the hell has the guts to call them out in tag team compeititon? Right then the lights go out, and the music hits. "Enter Sandman" and the fans in Milwaukee, Wisonsin blew the roof off the building. Sandman teams up with his rival and enemy Trevor Murdoch and a brawl takes place all around the building. Murdoch who was a part of Americas Most wanted, isn't happy about Harris and his new attitude, now he's teaming up with his hardcore friend Sandman and are ready to put an end to the combo of Harris and Duncum Jr. X-Division match AJ Styles pinned Chad Collyer after a DDT in 0:11:46. Rating: **** 1/4 Another fan favorite match from Milwaukee here on Velocity, as AJ Styles gets the victory over Chad Collyer. AJ respected Chad in this match and shook his hand when it was over. Handicap-Match Taz and Val Venis defeated New Europe (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) and Ulf Hermann when Taz defeated when Doug Williams passed out in the Tazmission in 0:33:35. Rating: **** 1/4 AWESOME match event tonight to end Velocity. It started as a 3-1 match as Ulf, Williams and Smith took on Val Venis. Venis showed some good offense, but a 3-1 was just to much for one man to take. As the punishment continued in the match, Taz music hits and Taz hits the ring and stands in the corner of Val Venis making this a 2 on 3 match! Taz gets his hands on Doug Williams and chokes him out with the Tazmission. Venis takes out Harry Smith, and once again Ulf Hermann and Taz have a staredown in the middle of the ring to end the show. Backstage Notes: Dave Brown: One of our best Velocity shows to date. Some great 4 star matches, and more matches announced for Halloween Havoc. Big news coming out of the tag team division, Latin Lover and Psicosis taking our champions to the limit in a TV time limit draw. I expect that this will give Lover and Psicosis a major push toward a title match. We now have word that The Sandman and Murdoch will face Harris and BDJ, and the Global title will be on the line as Christopher Daniels takes on Val Venis. The return of the Sandman to the ring had the fans on their feet and got the largest reaction of the night. We have 5 matches signed for Havoc, and still have 4 big matches that will be announced. Here is the current rundown for Halloween Havoc on October 27th Heavyweight Title Match (c) Taz vs Ulf Hermann Sandman and Trevor Murdoch vs Harris and Bobby Duncum Jr. Tag Team Title Match (c)Nigel Mcguinness and Ultimo Guerrero vs South of the Border Best of 7 series match #6-Match stipulation still not announced CM Punk vs Low-KI **Steve Bradley has challenged Jerry Lynn to match Global Title Match (c) Christopher Daniels vs Val Venis 4 more big matches still to come! |
SeanH529 | Posted on 11/25/09 at 15:40:50 USWA Velocity TV October 19th, 2002 Madison, WI Interview Jerry Lawler returns to the USWA! Dave Brown hits the ring and opens the show welcoming back the President of the USWA, Jerry Lawler. Lawler comes to the ring to a nice ovation from the fans. Dave Brown recaps the entire situation with Lawler telling the fans that Lawler named himself the special enforcer in the title match between Taz and Vampiro, then in London at the end of the UK tour Vampiro basically took Lawler out of action... Lawler says he has been sitting at home licking his wounds for about a month and he is BACK in the USWA and he's here to challenge Vampiro to a match at Halloween Havoc! ::USWA Owner Jeff Jarrett hits the ring:: Jarrett tells Lawler that he is glad he is back and is recovered and that he is willing to suspend Vampiro for putting his hands on senior management of the company, but if Lawler thinks he is going to step back in the ring, he needs to think about that decision. Not only will Lawler lose the roll of President of the USWA, but he will then be put on the roster and signed to a wrestling contract. Jarrett reminds Lawler that he hasn't been a fulltime active wrestler for almost two years! Lawler tells Jarrett that if he has to give up his roll as President of the company to get his hands of Vampiro, than he is ready to make that sacrafice. ::Vampiro music hits he makes his way down the isle:: Vamprio tells Lawler he has been waiting for him to pop his ugly head back in the scene here in the USWA, and if he wants to fight so bad why doesn't he face him tonight in the main event? Lawler tells Vampiro he accepts his challenge! Jarrett continues to try to talk Lawler out of it, but he's unable to change his mind. Jarrett says that these two will face off tonight, and he will make a decision soon on a new President! Psicosis and Latin Lover defeated Rik Ratchet and Steve Madison when Psicosis pinned Ratchet with the Flying Legdrop in 0:01:07. Rating: ** After last weeks shocker taking the tag team champions to a time limit draw, Psicosis and Lover made short work out of tonights competition. Teams in the USWA are taking notice of these two. The Tag Team scene in the USWA is probably at it's best in the last two years, which says a lot about this team. Interview Ahmed Johnson in action next week! ::Ahmed Johnson is sitting in his house watching some old tapes of USWA matches:: Ahmed says he has been waiting a long time for his return to the ring, and he is thankful to Jeff Jarrett for giving him a chance to reinvent himself in the USWA. He promises that he is going to elevate the heavyweight division and he is going to make a major impact the second he steps into the ring in the USWA. (The phone on his end table starts to vibrate, Ahmed answers and the screen fades to black.) ::As the camera fades, the graphic scrolls that Ahmed will be in action next week:: Shocker pinned Sean Waltman with the Flying Elbowdrop in 0:05:35. Rating: *** 1/2 [Steve Corino interfered against Sean Waltman.] Sean Waltman takes a loss to Shocker tonight when Steve Cornio got involved and became a distraction for the 1-2-3 Kid. Waltman tried to go after Corino, but Steve held his ground and Waltman ran to the back in frustration. Interview New Europe shows frustration toward Nigel McGuinness Backstage: (New Europe members Alex Shelley, Ulf Hermann, Doug Williams and Harry Smith are all hanging out in the dressing room.) Doug Williams says that this just doesn't seem right, Nigel needs to be apart of something that he started! Alex jumps in and says that everyone needs to chill, because he is the only one that has taken care of business so far. Nobody else in this locker room has a title around their waist. Doug says that at Halloween Havoc Ulf is going to bring home the heavyweight title, thats what this organization should be worried about! (Doug Williams leaves the dressing room in disgust, Harry Smith goes after him) Dog Collar Match CM Punk pinned Low-Ki with the G.T.S. in 0:14:15. Rating: *** Match number 5 in this best of 7 goes to CM Punk and gives him the advantage with the victory in this Dog Collar match. It was another bloody brawl between these two men. CM Punk now has a chance to take this series in 6 at Halloween Havoc! Interview AJ Styles discusses new talent in the USWA Backstage: Cory Maclund talks to A.J. Styles about some of the new competition here in the company. A.J. Styles says he has been really impressed with Bobby Fish and Chad Collyer both making their way to the USWA. He is planning on watching that match tonight. Cory asks AJ what he has in his future as far as competition here in the USWA? AJ responds saying that he has been watching the X-Division matches as of late and he knows his name should be up there with Lynn and Scorpio as well. AJ feels that his X-Division title run was ended short with an injury, and hes never been able to compete for the title since late last year. Cory says that he wishes AJ all the best in his road back to the X-division championship. Bobby Fish pinned Chad Collyer after a drop toe hold in 0:04:20. Rating: *** Bobby Fish gets a victory over Chad Collyer in a quick one. Chad says he got caught by an unsuspecting drop toe hold by Fish. AJ Styles made his way down to the announce table for this one and gave both wrestlers a standing ovation after the quick matchup. Interview Jerry Lynn accepts the challenge of Steve Bradley Dave Brown comes to the ring and introduces Jerry Lynn. Lynn says that he has heard the challenge that Bradley put out there. Lynn said he trusted Bradley as a friend and training partner when he came back to the USWA.He respected him for being the first ever X-Division champion, and never thought in a million years he would come back to try and take away his X-title, but if thats the game that he wants to play, then Jerry Lynn is up for the challenge and he accepts his challenge for a match at Halloween Havoc! The Sandman and Trevor Murdoch defeated The Pain Game (Bull Pain and Ox Harley) when Sandman pinned Bull Pain after Frankensander in 0:15:23. Rating: ** 1/2 In a battle between two of the more hardcore teams in the USWA, Sandman and Murdoch get the victory over Bull Pain and Ox Harley. Samoa Joe came out to the ring to take a closer look at his competition for Havoc. After the match Joe took a defenseless Bull Pain and gave him an Island Driver, considered a little revenge for the attack two weeks ago. Colt Cabana pinned Delirious after a power bomb in 0:08:20. Rating: *** 1/4 Cabana continues to chalk up victories after this one against newcomer Delirious. After the match both guys shook hands in a showing of respect. Delirious seemed to be screaming about something in a language nobody could understand, Cabana helped him to the back after the match. Samoa Joe pinned Mike Lozansky after a rollover in 0:06:23. Rating: *** 1/4 Samoa Joe gets the victory tonight. We have been told that Samoa Joe is going to take on The Pain Game in a 2 on 1 match after they attacked Joe back in Green Bay. We will get a chance to see what kind of shape Joe is in when he takes on these two big men! A victory tonight was an easy task with The Pain Game both taken out by Sandman and Murdoch earlier in the show. Jerry Lawler and Vampiro battled to a double countout in 0:13:13. Rating: ** 3/4 Just to much hate between these two wrestlers to be held in the confines of a wrestling ring with countouts and disqualifications. These two brawled all over the ring and took it to the audience. The countout was the official ending to the match, but after officials made their way down to try to break things up Jerry Lawler threw a fireball in the eyes of Vampiro! Vampiro was screaming bloody murder, but Lawler showed no remorse for using the flames. Backstage Notes: USWA finishes up our debut run in Wisconsin with a main event that was a bit of a letdown to the fans. Jerry Lawler is back in the USWA after about a month long absence and has agreed to come out of retirement for a chance to get revenge on Vampiro. Tonights Main Event looked to be a good one, but too much brawling, not enough wrestling, the ref had to end the match on a double countout. Lawler even brought back one of his old tricks, using a fireball in the eyes of Vampiro to end the show. The S.A.T's have 5 more cards remaining on their contract, but they will be given an early release so they will be open to go work elsewhere. St. Paul will be their last match with the company. Ahmed Johnson will be making his long awaited USWA debut next week on Velocity. The company has big plans for Ahmed and wants to give him an opportunity to be put right in the thick of things with the big names in the USWA. A title shot against Taz might be a bit of a stretch, but we will soon see if Ahmed's return to wrestling is all that he has hyped it up to be. With Halloween Havoc only one week away, we will be making our Minneapolis debut with a special show in St Paul the night before Havoc. This will be the final Velocity TV taping before this Sundays big show in Minneapolis. Jarrett comes out and says that he gave it a lot of thought when trying to come up with the next President of the USWA. He wanted someone who was experienced in the executive roll, he wanted someone who has ties to the great legacy of the USWA, and he wanted a former in ring competitor who will be respected by the locker room. He found that in this man... ::Music blasts from the P.A. System and out comes Superstar Bill Dundee:: Cory Macklin is excited to see The Superstar! Dundee makes his way to the ring and shakes hands with Jarrett. Cory asks Bill Dundee if he will be a fair and balanced President with his history with Jarrett, Lawler, and of course being the father of PG-13's Jamie Dundee J.C. Ice? Bill tells Cory to slow down. He tells him that he has been out of the wrestling business since 1997 when the USWA closed its doors the first time. He didn't want anything to do with a reinvented USWA, but things changed when he saw Jeff Jarrett purchase the company, and the expansion. Bill says he has been watching the new USWA for over a year and is well aware of everything that has been going on around here. He also says that he isn't here to waste anybodys time. he has a few orders of business he wants to get to right now! Dundee announces that EVERYONE wants to know what the stipulation will be in the CM Punk vs Low Ki match at Halloween Havoc, well we are not going to wait around and let these two decide, Bill Dundee officially announces that the 6th match will take place inside a STEEL CAGE! First one to climb out of the cage will be the victor! ::Vampiros music hits and Vampiro makes his way down to ringside:: Vampiro tells Dundee that last week nothing was resolved with Jerry Lawler, and he is demanding they face off one more time. Bill Dundee agrees that it's a fantastic idea and they will, at Halloween Havoc in a FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE NO DQ NO COUNTOUT MATCH! WOW talk about an introduction. Bill Dundee has made it clear that he won't be afraid to make the matches and stipulations that the USWA fans want to see! Steve Bradley pinned Rik Ratchet with the Smashmouth in 0:09:17. Rating: **** 1/4 In a warmup for his match at Havoc, Steve Bradley gets the victory over Ratchet in X-Division action. Bradley has been getting back into shape with a few matches this month. It's the first action we have seen him in since his first stint in the USWA back in early 2001. He looks good and should be heavy competition for Jerry Lynn. Ahmed Johnson pinned Alan Stone with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:7:52. Rating: *** 1/2 We finally got a chance to see the Pearl River Powerhouse in action as he made his USWA debut. Ahmed is in great shape and really looks like the guy who made that run in the WWF back in 1996. A big victory tonight in front of the fans. Interview CM Punk backstage with Cabana and others... CM Punk knocks on Colt Cabanas locker room and asks to come in. Cabana tells him it's cool and when Punk walks in Delirious is hanging out with Cabana. Delirious starts screaming in some gibberish and is cracking Colt up. Cabana apologizes for being rude and asks Punk if he has met Delirious yet? Punk says he hasn't and just kinda looks at Colt like he's crazy. Punk then asks Cabana if this is a bad time, Colt says not at all, as Punk beings to talk he has a look on his face as if he would like it if Delirious would leave so he can talk to his old friend in private, but Cabana is oblivious to the entire thing and just asks Punk whats up. Punk tells Colt that he has been thinking about this entire year since we are getting toward the end, and can't believe that he has been fighting Low-Ki up and down the circuit for the last six months. Cabana says he knows it seems like a crazy amount of time, but he should be happy that those matches have really put him on the map! Punk says that deep down he's afraid that if he doesn't get this victory in the best of 7 series, he doesn't know what his career is going to be like. Cabana says he has had a nice run in the USWA since he got here! Punk says that deep down he thinks he should already have had a nice run with the title, but when he looks back, his loss to Jerry Lynn during the Young Lions challenge cost him major momentum, his loss in the feud to New Jack was another turning point in his career, and now he is in the middle of a feud that if he doesn't win, could set him back from becoming the Global champ. Delirious interupts and just starts going off kinda sounding like Chewy from Star Wars. Cabana seems to understand what he's saying and tells Delirious he has a point. Punk has no clue what he said, and ask Cabana to explain. Cabana then tells Punk that Jerry Lynn is one of the best X-Division competitors of all time, and that New Jack went on to become champion for almost six months! These losses that he is talking about our to some of the best wrestlers to come through the USWA. Cabana says that no matter what happens in that cage, he will be rooting for him. Colt says at Halloween Havoc you will get your win and then head into the biggest show of the year facing Christopher Daniels for the Global Champ. On New Years Eve when they are celebrating the amazing year together, these worries won't be there anymore. Val Venis pinned Justin Cage with the Money Shot in 0:11:35. Rating: **** Val Venis put on quite a show tonight in a singles bout before he takes on Christopher Daniels for the global championship. Havoc will be the first time ever these two athletes meet up in the ring, and eveyone is expecting a great matchup. South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) defeated The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) when Universo 2000 pinned Jose Maximo after a flying bodypress in 0:12:10. Rating: **** All the wrestlers that are competing for the titles at Havoc got a match tonight on Velocity and Universo 2000/Super Crazy might be the team that looks the best going into their tag title shot. They have been on quite the winning streak as of late, and Nigel and Ultimo are still rusty since they have only recently been getting back in the ring together. A victory tonight over the S.A.T's was a big statement to the current tag champs that Universo and Crazy are ready to wage war for those USWA Tag Titles. Konnan pinned Doug Williams after a power bomb in 0:15:23. Rating: ***** Konnan was booked to take on Doug Williams in his return to USWA action from a quick tour of Mexico. Sean Waltman defeated Steve Corino by countout in 0:07:07. Rating: * 1/2 Sean Waltman gets the victory when Corino was sent out of the ring. Corino tried to get back in when someone from under the ring held onto his leg and he couldn't get back in time. We then see Steve Bradley roll out from under the ring as he celebrated his win with Waltman. 3 Way Dance Chad Collyer won a 3 Way Dance: x C. Collyer defeated Fish after the Chaddo Clutch in 0:12:38 x C. They need to keep working at it, and eventually they'll get that tag title shot on their own. from Taz. Chris Harris and Bobby Duncum Jr. defeated Trevor Murdoch and The Sandman when C. Harris pinned Murdoch with the Catatonic in 0:14:43. Rating: *** It was a bloody brutal match, but Harris and Duncum were just to much for Sandman and Murdoch. These two do have a history together as they were both part of a New Church stable back in 2001. Both guys left Havoc with victories over their opponents. Taz not only defended his title, but he really made Ulf look like someone who didn't deserve the title shot. Ulf Hermanns loss did not go over with Doug Williams, and Williams really resents the fact that New Europe leader Nigel McGuinness was not at ringside to help Hermann in this one. Only time will tell what the future of that stable will hold. PG-13 ran out to stop any 4 on 1 attack that New Europe had planned for Taz. All in all a bad night for New Europe. Ulf says that it's obvious he has something to prove to everyone in the USWA, and he knows he can be a great champion just like Harley Race was! Harley doesn't disagree and tells Ulf he has a great career ahead of him, but he doesn't know if he can be of much help! Bill thanks both Dibiase and Race for their participation and they leave the ring, but Ulf has the last word telling him he knows if Harley Race can take him under his wing for just 1 match, he will win that USWA title! Chad Collyer made Alan Stone submit to the Chaddo Clutch in 0:11:48. Rating: **** 1/4 Collyer continues racking up victories and continues to submit his opponents with that Chaddo Clutch. Val Venis pinned Ulf Hermann after hitting him with the ring bell in 0:01:47. Rating: ** [Taz interfered against Ulf Hermann.] In the first of our double Main Events, Val Venis/ Sean Morley makes short work out of Ulf Hermann with the Help of Taz, Taz came out, threw the ring bell to Val, and Val clocked Hermann in the head when the ref was distracted for a quick 1-2-3. Harley Race was backstage watching this all go down on a monitor. Taz took the mic and told Ulf Hermann that if he wants a second shot at his title he is more than willing to make him tap one more time! Val Venis looks confused, takes the Mic and tells Taz, that HE is now the number one contender to the title and he wants a shot at the belt at A Night to Remember. Taz disagres and tells Val he's gonna have to wait in line. As Taz leaves the ring, Val takes the ring bell and takes Taz out as well! Harley Race runs out to check on Ulf Hermann, and Val just stands over Taz grabbing the Heavyweight Title and poses for the camera as we go to commercial. Jerry Lynn, Steve Corino and CM Punk defeated Too Cold Scorpio, Steve Bradley and Sean Waltman when S. Corino defeated S. Bradley by disqualification in 0:22:29. Rating: *** 1/4 In our MAIN EVENT Lynn, Cornio and Punk get the win in this one, but only because Steve Bradley took the X-Title and smashed it over the head of Steve Corino. The Ref called for the DQ and this one broke out into an unofficial brawl. A victory in the win column for Punk, Cornio and Lynn, but a moral victory goes out to Too Cold and his guys for another brutal attack on Lynn and his crew. Backstage Notes: It looks like we have some confusion over who is going to get the Heavyweight Title shot at A Night to Remember, Ulf Hermann and Val Venis both feel they are the next in line for a shot, although both lost matches at Havoc, the personal attacks on Taz seem to be their "in" for goading him into defending the title once again. Ulf Hermann has drug Harley Race into this entire thing, and we have yet to hear if this was a plan that was brought up by New Europe or not. Lots of questions surround the Heavyweight Title. Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles will go at it at A Night to Remember for the Global Title. A lot of those in the company feel that might be the match to beat at the show. AJ Styles has never been Global Champion. Next week on Velocity TV: Vampiro and Raven take on Jerry Lawler and Samoa Joe, in a 3 way dance X-Title contender match Psicosis vs Delirious vs Waltman. We will also hear from Steve Bradley and much more! A Night to Remember matches announced so far.... (c) Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles for the Global Title Best of 7 Match 7 CM Punk vs Low-Ki match stipulation has yet to be announced. We still have a few weeks to go, so look for more matches to be signed! |

Rating: **** Super Crazy representing South of the Border, and Latin Lover representing his team with Psicosis had a one on one matchup to open Velocity. With Psicosis competing in the 3 way dance, Super Crazy gets the victory and a political edge for his tag team when discussing a tag team title shot. Interview Bradley and Waltman challenge Lynn and Corino tonight Steve Bradley and Sean Waltman are talking with Lance Russell backstage. Bradley says it's about time that Jerry Lynn reunites with his former tag team partner Steve Corino and challenges them to a tag match for tonights show. Waltman says he has been waiting years to get his hands on Jerry Lynn, and tonight Bradley and himself are walking out of Richmond with a victory over the former USWA Tag Team Champions. Hardcore Match The Sandman pinned Ox Harley with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:08:19. Rating: ** The Sandman gets a big win in this hardcore encounter. The Sandman is looking to get a matched signed so he can participate in his third straight Night to Remember. Interview AJ Styles accepts the challenge for the Global Title AJ Styles walks to ringside after he is announced to the crowd by Lance Wright. AJ says that he has seen the competition in the USWA rise up to the next level, all he wanted was another chance at the X-Division title. It's a title that he had to give up due to injury, and was never able to sucessfully defend it the way he always intended. AJ said that he has noticed that Christopher Daniels has had quite the winning streak, and put together an impressive resume with his victories defending the Global Title this year. AJ says that he has never attempted to fight for the Global title, but he's never been one to run from a challenge. AJ says that he will accept the match and he's going to be the Global Champion going into 2003! CM Punk pinned Alex Shelley with the G.T.S. in 0:07:59. Rating: *** 1/2 Punk with a big victory over Alex Shelley of New Europe. Both Low-Ki and Punk have continued to stay strong in Velocity matches leading up to their last battle. Interview Taz and Sean Morely discuss a title shot. Backstage Morley tells Taz that he wants to get a shot at that title, Taz laughs it off telling Morley he hasn't proven a thing yet to get that shot. Morley says that he beat Ulf last week, but Taz says its only because of his help. Morley then tells Taz that he'll fight him next week non title, if he wins,he gets the title shot at A Night to Remember. Taz tells Morley he doesn't have to do a thing and walks off. 3-Man Battle Royal Psicosis won a 3-man Battle Royal: x Waltman defeated Delirious in 0:04:22 x Psicosis defeated Waltman after a power bomb in 0:05:48 Rating: *** 3/4 Psicosis gets the victory and continues onto the next 3 way match with a chance at the X-title. This could give South of the Border the tag title rematch at A Night to Remember. New Europe (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated Justin Cage and Rik Ratchet when Smith pinned Cage with the Running Powerslam in 0:18:37. Rating: *** 1/2 Doug Williams calls out Ulf Hermann In the ring Doug Williams and Harry Smith call out Ulf Hermann. Doug tells Ulf that Nigel McGuinness went out of his way to bring him to the USWA, and under the guidance of New Europe he was given a great opportunity to battle Taz for the title, but he blew it! NOW he is going outside the European Union to ask help from Harley Race? Ulf tells Williams that he's still a part of the group unlike Nigel, and with the help of a legend like Harley Race, he plans on bringing the title back. Harry Smith speaks up, and asks if he plans to do it by not tapping out this time? Harry was pissed that Ulf might get a second chance at the title after giving up in the middle of the ring and expresses that to Hermann. Ulf says with Harley Race in his corner, the title is coming home with him! Sean Waltman and Steve Bradley defeated Steve Corino and Jerry Lynn when Waltman defeated Lynn via pinfall in 0:25:30. Rating: **** 1/2 [Too Cold Scorpio interfered against Jerry Lynn.] Too Cold Scorpio helps his team get a victory over Lynn and Corino in tag team action tonight. Jerry Lynn was furious that once again Scorpio has cost him a win and wasn't involved in the match to begin with. Harley Race asks Bill Dundee for a favor Backstage in Dundee's office Harley Race comes in and they sit down for a second talking about the good old days. Harley says he wants to ask a favor, Harley says hes been in St. Louis for the last few weeks promoting the heck out of the first ever PPV, and in return he really wants Dundee to give Ulf Hermann a match next week here on TV. Dundee says that Ulf Hermann has really just fallen off the radar here in the USWA, and he doesn't feel like giving him a singles match on TV is a good idea, let alone his attempt to get a rematch against the heavyweight champion. Harley says he sees something in this kid and he understands the argument, but giving him a match next week would be a favor for him. Dundee says that he will give Ulf a match next week, but it's going to be a big match, it's going to be against a wrestler from outside the company, and it's NOT going to be an easy match for him. Harley shakes Dundees hand and leaves. Vampiro and Raven defeated Jerry Lawler and Samoa Joe when Vampiro pinned Joe after a waistlock suplex in 0:14:33. Rating: *** 3/4 Joe and Lawler teamed up tonight to fight a common enemy, but in the end they just didn't mesh very well. Joe is high impact, high intensity. Lawler is old school. The Deadpool, Raven and Vampiro, were able to come away with a victory in this tag team encounter. Lawler and Samoa Joe had a bit of a shoving match to end the show. Backstage Notes: We are only one more week away from A Night to Remember, and things really are starting to heat up! Matches continue to be signed and it looks like Val Venis and Ulf Hermann are both in a race to see who will get the title shot at A Night to Remember. Tag Teams reunite as former champions Corino and Lynn faced Bradley and Waltman. 2 Cold made his presence felt and he helped his team get the win. We were told after the show that these two will face off in a tag team CAGE MATCH at A Night to Remember. This time nobody will be able to interfere. New Europe is a complete mess right now, they have no "leader" in Nigel McGuinness, now Ulf Hermann has asked for Harley Race to help him get a title shot once again. We saw this over and over when things went bad with Vic Quinonnes old faction, now we might be on the verge of watching another group disband. Psicosis wins the last 3 way match and next weeks main event will now include Colt Cabana vs Psicosis vs Chad Collyer, the winner of that match will go on to face 2 Cold Scorpio for his X-Division title at A Night to Remember. We have been told Scorpio will be in singles competition next week, to make sure he doesn't have the advantage of a night off when he faces off against the 3 way dance winner. Sean Morley has asked for a title shot once again, Taz has denied that opportunity, but something tells me next week when the USWA hits Cincinnatti,OH we might have a better idea of whats going to happen. NEXT WEEK on Velocity 3 Way Dance Winner takes on Scorpio for X-Title at A Night to Remember Cabana vs Psicosis vs Chad Collyer Ulf Hermann vs hand picked opponent from Bill Dundee Heavyweight champion Taz will be in action! X-Division champion 2 Cold Scorpio Will be in Action The Contract signing and stipulation announcement will take place between Low-Ki and CM Punk as they sign off on their 7th match in the best of 7 conclusion at A Night to Remember. Steve Corino and Jerry Lynn vs Sean Waltman and Steve Bradley -Cage Match |
SeanH529 | Posted on 01/05/10 at 17:43:52 -Sorry it took me so long to get this TV show out, but the holidays were just killer having to drive home and just not having internet and everything else. Things should go smooth here for the rest of my USWA Calendar year. I'm going to be putting a new storyline into my fed where Dundee got the USWA a 12 card exclusive contract with the Mid South Coliseum where they will be doing 1 show a month NON televised (non board posted). I want to run a few angles, debut a few opening/mid card guys, and have Lawler/Jarrett and some more Memphis guys on the shows. I am only going to post those shows on my website...kind of an incentive to go there. Basically I want to keep all my big time foreign guys like Guerrero, Konnan, Super Crazy, and Japanese guys that will be used on the main shows and Velocity tv's, and then use guys like Lawler, Dundee, Jarrett, PG-13, and even Harris and BDJ and them on these 12 Memphis shows. I'm also going to change up some of the tournaments for 2003, and will be implementing the ROH pick 6 contender system in 2003. I'm going to do a Bill Dundee "state of the USWA" thing once I get to the end of the year. I have 9 shows until that happens, so we shall see how long that takes. Keep reading! Hope you guys enjoy. Also I would like to do a show sometime where I have a "fans pick the matches" night. This might be on one of the memphis shows. I'll list maybe 16/20 wrestlers and you guys can vote on the matches. If I don't get a response, I might just make them up doing the "random match generator" |
SeanH529 | Posted on 01/05/10 at 21:41:45 I am also going to be doing a Year End Awards that will be posted by January 2003 TNM time. If anyone is reading and wants to chime in on anything they might think stood out in cards from the 2002 calendar year in my fed, you can post comments below. Here are the 9 categories of awards we will be giving out. This gives you a good 9 remaining 2002 cards in TNM to read over past results and chime in. All my 2002 cards are up on the website. I am going to attempt to post the Nov. 16th TV, and A Hype Central Page for the show tonight or tomorrow, then I'll run and post a night to remember by the end of the week. I would love to catch up to currently weekly time SOON. Categories are as follows. 1. Wrestler of the Year 2. Tag Team of the Year 3. Match of the Year 4. Best Feud 5. Best Major Show of the Year 6. Biggest Surprise of the Year 7. Best Rookie of the Year/ 2002 USWA debut 8. Best Angle 9. Best Gimmick I will probably edit this post later to give maybe 4 or 5 choices and why they deserve it at a later date. |

Race tells Dundee he traveled to Cinicnnatti because he wants to see who Dundee picked for Ulf Hermann tonight. Harris took the mic after the match and told Trevor he is sick of seeing his face in the USWA and went onto challenge him to a loser leaves town match at A Night to Remember. Harris said that he will put him out on the streets like James Storm. The Sandman told Murdoch he will be at ringside to make sure the match is fair, and this time it will be Chris Harris who's leaving the USWA for good! PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated Steve Madison and Mike Lozansky when J.C. Ice pinned Lozansky after a power bomb in 0:10:40. Rating: **** PG-13 continue to find sucess on Velocity with another victory. It won't be long until they are once again at the top of the list and looking for a tag title match. Wolfie D took the mic and said their is a team in the back that they've been waiting to get their hands on since Halloween Havoc. Wolfie said that they want to face New Europes Williams and Smith at A Night to Remember, and when the match is over, they will be so beat up that they won't have to worry about more interference in Taz title match! Low-Ki and CM Punk Match 7 Contract signing Both Low-Ki and CM Punk head to the ring with a table and chairs Dundee tells them that the big winners of this best of 7 series has been the USWA fans, and it all goes down tomorrow night in St. Louis, one man will get the global title, one man will go home...with nothing. Fate is in their hands, accept for one thing that remains, what will the final stipulation for the match be? Tonight THE USWA has signed Low-Ki vs CM Punk in an ULTIMATE X match! Low-Ki tells Punk that it has been a hell of a year competing with him up and down the road, but his goals are set high, and at A Night to Remember it will be a night that PUNK will never forget. CM Punk says he has been here in the USWA for a long time and he's had his ups and downs throughout his career, all the great ones have, but 2003 is going to be HIS YEAR and he'll be DAMNED if he is leaving St. Louis without that series win, and without a chance at the Global Title. Punk tells Low-Ki he had better be prepared to die in that ring, because thats what it's going to take for him to lose this match to him one on one! Sean Morley pinned Taz after a flying cross body press in 0:17:04. Rating: **** 1/4 A huge match as TAZ loses clean in the middle of the ring to Sean Morley. Ice and Wolfie D) when Smith made J.C. Ice submit to a rear naked choke in 0:07:33. Rating: *** The PPV started out with a hot tag match. PG-13, who just can't seem to be stopped on TV, suffer a loss when J.C. Ice had to tap to a nasty Rear Naked Choke AKA The Tazmission. Harry Smith used Taz finisher to teach PG-13 a lesson during their run in at Halloween Havoc. Ahmed Johnson pinned Mike Awesome with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:07:19. Rating: * 1/2 Two big powerhouses in the USWA Ahmed Johnson and Mike Awesome came to blows in our second match on the show. Johnson was in some trouble, he rolled out of the ring and made a phonecall on his cell phone. After he regrouped he got back into the ring and hit Awesome with the Pearl River Plunge to get the victory. Bobby Fish pinned Delirious with the Falcon Arrow in 0:07:16. Rating: *** 1/2 Bobby Fish continues his winning ways with a big singles victory over Delirious, finishing him off with his Falcon Arrow submission. MatchLoser-Leaves-Town Match Chris Harris pinned Trevor Murdoch with the Catatonic in 0:14:19. Rating: *** With the Sandman at ringside, Bobby Duncam Jr took one attempt to interfere in the match when Murdoch had the momentum, but the Sandman made his presence felt when he caned the living hell out of BDJ until he ran to the back. The brawl outside the ring became a distraction to Murdoch and Harrris was able to take advantage of that when he hit the Catatonic. Trevor Murdoch now joins James Storm on the unemployment line. After the match Sandman jumped in the ring and started brawling with Chris Harris. Harris and Sandman brawled to the back of the arena. [Mexicos Most Wanted interfered against South of the Border] The Triangle match for the Tag Titles ended in another victory for Guerrero and McGuinness. Say what you want about how these two were formed, they have gotten into a groove and have defended the titles against all comers the last few months. The biggest news out of this match was the return/debut of Mexico's Most Wanted, Damian 666 and Halloween who took to the ring and attacked Super Crazy and Universo 2000. These guys have had a feud in Mexico for the past year, and now it looks like Mexico's Most Wanted have made their way to the USWA. Too Cold Scorpio pinned Colt Cabana after a Frankensteiner in 0:10:36. Rating: *** 3/4 (Too Cold Scorpio retained the X Division Title.) Too Cold Scorpio had an impressive victory over Colt Cabana in the X-Division Title match. Scorpio continues to dominate the X-Division, even after Cabana proved to be the best contender with his 3 way dance victories all month long. Cage Match Steve Corino and Jerry Lynn defeated Steve Bradley and Sean Waltman by escaping the cage in 0:13:38. Rating: *** 1/2 Lynn and Corino extracted a little revenge by escaping the cage and getting the victory over turncoat Steve Bradley, and bitter rival Sean Waltman. Bradley left the ring a bloody mess, as Corino took it to him with everything he had. Jerry Lynn can hold his head high as this is the first major victory he's had over his rivals since they made their way to the USWA. Ultimate X match 7 of 7 in the Best of 7 Series Low-Ki defeated CM Punk in 0:18:12. Rating: *** 1/4 [Trinity interfered against CM Punk.] In what can only be thought of as a SHOCKER to the USWA, Low-Ki's former manager/girlfriend returns to the USWA and hits Punk with a devistating AXE kick to the head, allowing her boyfriend Low-Ki to make his way to the center of the X and grab the Global Title contract. We haven't seen Trinity in the USWA since after The Sandman feud back in April! After the match Trinity and Low-Ki made out in the middle of the ring and continued to lay a beating on CM Punk until Colt Cabana and Delirious ran to the ring and ran Low-Ki and Trinity to the back. Christopher Daniels pinned AJ Styles with the Spicy Drop in 0:07:42. Rating: *** 3/4 (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) Another huge victory over a major player in the USWA, Daniels continues to add major names to his victory list. Styles gave it his all, but Daniels has been amazing. How will Daniels deal with Low-Ki and Trinity on his next title defense? Casket Match Vampiro defeated Jerry Lawler in 0:10:44. Rating: *** Jerry Lawlers mind games were not good enough to beat Vampiro at his own game. Vampiro was able to get the victory over Lawler by stuffing him in the casket. Lawler was never able to get a victory over Vampiro, and now he's lost his job as president. Cage Match Raven defeated Samoa Joe by escaping the cage in 0:14:58. Rating: **** 1/4 [Jun Akiyama attacks Raven after the match] The biggest news of the Pay-Per-View, Jun Akiyama shows up in St. Louis and attacks Raven after his victory on Samoa Joe. The fans are going absolutley nuts at the fact that Jun is back in the USWA, if only for 1 night! After Akiyama beat Raven to a pulp he looks at Samoa Joe and the two embrace in the middle of the ring! Raven won the battle, but something tells us the war has just begun, and the most popular heavyweight champion in the history of the USWA is back! 3-way Dance Taz won a 3-man Battle Royal: x Taz defeated Morley after the Tazmission in 0:10:18 x Taz defeated Hermann after the Tazmission in 0:22:18 Rating: ***** (Taz retained the Heavyweight Title.) It was a main event that we only found out about last night, it was a main event we will be discussing for the rest of our lives. The Human Suplex Machine TAZ defeats both Ulf Herman, with St. Louis Legend Harley Race by his side, and Sean Morley, in the middle of the ring, making both men TAP to the Tazmission! Taz defends his title once again on Pay Per View, and is going into the last month of the year as a strong candidate for wrestler of the year! Backstage Notes: Overall the show went off well. Our Main Event will go down as match of the year in most peoples eyes. We have had other 5 star matches, but with the Heavyweight Title on the line, with Harley Race at ringside, on our first PPV, this match was the most meaningful 5 star match in company history. USWA officials felt that the PPV came on so quick we didn't have enough time to properly hype up the show, but it was a sucess none the less. We will return to PPV in January with New Years Resolution 2003, our second annual event. Jun Akiyama is finally back with the company. He quit in July and the USWA continued to negotiate his comeback asap. He is just too valuable to the USWA to quit, but it took multiple sessions of negotiations until he returned. He is on a 30+ show contract. The USWA now has 6 out of the 7 Heavyweight champions working for the company, and rumor is they will all be involved in an angle to start off the 2003 season. Next month the USWA will present Christmas Chaos. We know that Low-Ki will take on Christopher Daniels for the Global title. A Main Event has not yet been announced, but it will be at the next TV taping. Rumor has it, we are looking at a 5 on 5 WAR GAMES match to end the year. |

Punk says he's going to take care of Trinity, and that Low-Ki can't get away with his cheap victory. Cabana tells him he needs to just let it go and move on. Cabana says battles with Low-Ki all year have taken a mental and physical toll on him and he needs to just let it be for now. Punk agrees and ends the conversation whispering under his breath "for now". Mike Awesome pinned Universo 2000 with the Awesome Bomb in 0:05:00. Rating: *** 1/2 Mike Awesome gets his first USWA victory over Universo 2000 tonight on Challenge. Awesome started his USWA career out slow with losses to wrestlers like Ulf Hermann and Ahmed Johnson, but his devistating Awesome Bomb proves that he is going to be a wrestler to keep your eye on as we head into 2003.
