* Okerlund welcomes everyone to AWA Championship Wrestling and a happy 1985 then introduces his brodcasting partner Marty O'Neill. O'Neill runs down tonight's card. Brad Rheingans will take on Stan Hanson, The Russian Bear Boris Zhukov will take on Rick Martel, Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell will battle "Crusher" Blackwell and Baron Von Rashcke and in the main event, Nick Bockwinkle will battle Hulk Hogan.

Brad Rheingans defeated Stan Hansen by disqualification in 0:16:10.

* Stan Hanson has been disqualified for pushing referee Nacho Barrera and Hanson is furious. Marty O'Neill calls over Hanson. Hanson stats yelling that Rheingans was about to lose and the incompetent referee wouldn't get out of the way. He tells O'Neill that the next time he and Rheingans meet the referee won't be able to save him.

Rick Martel pinned Boris Zhukov after a dropkick in 0:15:22.

* Gene Okerlund enters the ring after the match and congratulates Martel on his win. Martel thanks him and talks about getting the win here on AWA Championship Wrestling and this was just the first of many.

The High Flyers (Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne) defeated
Crusher Blackwell and Baron Von Raschke when Brunzell pinned Baron with the
Dropkick in 0:15:38.

* Marty O'Neill jumps into the ring as the studio crowd gives the High Flyers a big round of applause. Jim Brunzell tells the crowd that in two weeks he and Greg will run the table and win the AWA World Tag team titles.

Hulk Hogan goes for a front facelock, but Nick Bockwinkle counters it with a backdrop.
Nick Bockwinkle runs into the ropes. Nick Bockwinkle executes a clothesline on Hulk Hogan. Nick Bockwinkle whips Hulk Hogan into the ropes, but Hulk Hogan reverses it. Hulk Hogan misses with a clothesline.
Nick Bockwinkle misses with a clothesline.
Hulk Hogan hits Nick Bockwinkle with a clothesline.
Hulk Hogan takes Nick Bockwinkle down with a chop.
Hulk Hogan runs into the ropes.
Nick Bockwinkle takes Hulk Hogan down with a backbreaker.
Nick Bockwinkle hits a punch to the midsection on Hulk Hogan.
Nick Bockwinkle throws Hulk Hogan out of the ring.

* Gene Okerlund welcomes everyone to another exciting edition of AWA Championship Wrestling. With him his broadcasting partner Marty O'Neill. O'Neill welcomes everyone then runs down tonight's action. The High Fliers, Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell will be up against Crusher Blackwell and Baron Von Raschke. The Main event will be an 8 man Battle Royal for the AWA Television title.
     
The "Ax" Larry Hennig made his way to the broadcast area followed by his son Curt Hennig and a monster of a man not yet introduced. Okerlund welcomed Hennig to the table and asked him what was on his mind. Larry Hennig talked about greatness and what it takes to be great and that what was standing before Okerlund and O'Neill were the future of the American Wrestling Association. Hennig continued by saying that he and Curt will be teaming up for the AWA World Tag titles tournament next week and tonight Curt's new tag partner will enter the Battle Royal tonight and walk away AWA Television champion. Larry Hennig then introduced Big Scott Hall. Hall flexed his arms to the crowd who bood to no effect as Hall told Okerlund that he will win the Television title tonight and there was no one who can stop him.

The High Flyers (Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne) defeated
Crusher Blackwell and Baron Von Raschke when Brunzell pinned Blackwell with the
Dropkick in 0:04:05.

* Once again Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell got the best of Von Raschke and Blackwell. Marty O'Niell enters the ring and talks to Gagne about their win tonight and next week tag team tornament. Gagne talks about the importance of momentum and that next week was going to be tough but they were ready to walk away World champions.

* Gene Okerlund was backstage talking to the eastern import, the great Jumbo Tsuruta. Okerlund ask him about his goals here in America and AWA. Tsuruta says he is glad to be here in America and in the AWA and that he plans on giving a good effort tonight and winning the Television title and then the AWA world title. Okerlund wishes him luck as the main event is ready to go.
