Well, well, well...look who found his TNM codes from years ago while cleaning out his university e-mail account. Even though the community is probably smaller than ever now it is nice to see some familiar names still posting here.

After spending over a year and a half away from the boards and almost as long away from the program (Fire Pro Wrestling Returns does that to you, I guess) I fired it back up yesterday afternoon and immediately fell in love again. As such, I think I am going to post the results to this here interweb messageboard in the hopes of entertaining the masses. The results won't be long form like Matt Harms or Ryan's GCW but more along the lines of GCW: OS: bare bones info with some angles here and there.

Before I get into a mini-rundown of the first card (that will be posted later today/tonight!) here is some background as to what exactly the EPWA is.

In real life, I have recently fallen in love with the awesomeness that is CHIKARA; so much so that  starting May 1 I plan on starting a workout regimen that will help me get in shape and put some meat on these bones  in anticipation of joining their wrestling school by year's end/early next year. If all goes according to plan then I should be 6'2" and around 180-185 which puts me in the same class as most of their roster.

As such, the EPWA has a distinct CHIKARA flavor with a good number of their competitors mixed in with my favorite WWE/TNA wrestlers. I limited myself to four "super stars" from the Big Two (CM Punk, Christian, Edge and a mystery man) to force me to work some some of the lesser known talent I put together.

There are three titles in the EPWA: The EPWA Heavyweight Title, the EPWA Internet Title and the EPWA WAR Titles. The WAR Titles are contested in six-man tag matches which will ultimately put a greater emphasis on stables of wrestlers.

The company will run two shows a month out of The Arena in South Philadelphia, PA. They will usually be held on Saturdays but there will be exceptions to that rule: the August shows, aptly named Crowning a Champion, will be held over the course of one weekend and will feature every contracted wrestler is a massive 32 man tournament to determine the company's first Heavyweight Champion.

The WAR Titles will be up for grabs at the company's first show "EPWA This Means WAR" on July 11, 2009. Two weeks later, on July 25, 2009, the Internet Title will be up for grabs in an eight man single elimination tournament in which the fans will be able to vote for the participants from a pre-selected group of 12 competitors on the EPWA website.

EPWA: This Means WAR
Eight teams of three will battle for the right to be the Epic Pro Wrestling Association's first WAR Champions. Several teams have already been announced. They include:

The Colony - Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Worker Ant

Incoherence (Delirious/Hallowicked) and Mike Quackenbush
The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple - UltraMantis Black, Crossbones and Hydra
Simply the Best - Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and John Morrison

The other three teams will be announced the day of the event.

Also appearing on the card: Edge, CM Punk and the tag-team of Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed.

EPWA This Means WAR 7/11/2009

Welcome to the first show in the history of the Epic Pro Wrestling Association. Tonight, eight three-man teams will compete for the right to be called the very first WAR Champions. Also happening tonight are two huge non-tournament: the first will see Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder taking on Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed and the second will see Edge and CM Punk have at it.

ROUND ONE
The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple (Crossbones, Hydra and UltraMantis Black) defeated El Generico, Kevin Steen and Equinox II when Mantis pinned Equinox with the Praying Mantis Bomb in 0:07:14.
Rating: **

ROUND ONE
The Osirian Portal (Amasis, Escorpion Egipcio and Ophidian) defeated The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Worker Ant) when Egipcio pinned Worker Ant with the Plancha de Cairo in 0:22:25.
Rating: * 3/4

ROUND ONE
Simply the Best (Cody Rhodes, John Morrison and Ted DiBiase) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) and Austin Aries when C. Rhodes pinned C. Sabin after a moonsault bodyblock in 0:12:23.
Rating: ** 1/2

ROUND ONE
Incoherence (Delirious and Hallowicked) and Mike Quackenbush defeated The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) and Vin Gerard when M. Quackenbush pinned Gerard after a Tombstone in 0:09:02.
Rating: * 3/4

Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder defeated Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal when C. Hawkins pinned Creed with the Snap Mare Driver in 0:12:31.
Rating: ** 3/4

SEMIFINALS
The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple (Crossbones, Hydra and UltraMantis Black) defeated Osirian Portal (Amasis, Escorpion Egipcio and Ophidian) when Mantis pinned Ophidian with the Praying Mantis Bomb in 0:10:31.
Rating: * 3/4

SEMIFINALS
Incoherence (Delirious and Hallowicked) and Mike Quackenbush defeated Simply the Best (Cody Rhodes, John Morrison and Ted DiBiase) when Hallowicked pinned C. Rhodes after a power bomb in 0:14:39.
Rating: * 1/2

Edge pinned CM Punk with the Spear in 0:19:01.
Rating: **** 1/4

FINALS
Match for the vacant EPWA WAR Titles:
The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple (Crossbones, Hydra and UltraMantis Black) defeated Incoherence (Delirious and Hallowicked) and Mike Quackenbush when Mantis pinned Delirious with the Praying Mantis Bomb in 0:13:48.
Rating: ** 1/2
(The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple won the EPWA WAR Titles.)

Observations:
The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple made their fight to the WAR Titles look more like a stroll in the park. They easily handled the unfamiliar trio of Kevin Steen, El Generico and Equinox II in the first round, dominated fellow rudos The Osirian Portal in the semifinals and outlasted Incoherence and Mike Quackenbush in the finals. UltraMantis Black went out of his way to make sure he scored the pin fall in all three matches. One can assume that Crossbones and Hydra won't mind that their leader is stealing the spotlight as long as they can call themselves WAR Champions.

The runners-up will look to get a rematch against the Order sometime soon as Mike Quackenbush and his proteges Incoherence gave the champions their biggest challenge of the night. Quack and his students had a harder path to the finals and the extra energy that they expended ended up being their downfall.

Simply the Best looked impressive in their two matches tonight. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase each have the pedigree to be all-time greats but they just need the experience to go along with the natural talent. John Morrison may not be the most ideal partner, however, as he seems to care more about looking good and jawing with people in the crowd than taking care of business in the ring.

CM Punk and Edge may have stole the show with their match as the two stars tore down the place with 19 minutes of wall-to-wall, back-and-forth action. Edge targeted the knees of CM Punk early on in the match which ultimately left Punk unable to support the weight of Edge whenever he attempted the Go 2 Sleep. The ending saw Edge spear Punk after wiggling free from Punk's final GTS attempt.

In two weeks the EPWA Internet Championship will be put up for grabs in an eight man tournament. Fans of the EPWA will be able to vote for the eight men who will fight for the title from this pool of 12 wrestlers:

Jay Lethal
Cody Rhodes
Eddie Edwards
Equinox II
Davey Richards
Austin Aries
Crossbones
Chris Sabin
Ted DiBiase
Vin Gerard
UltraMantis Black
Escorpion Egipcio

We'll see you in two weeks at EPWA Cyber Wars.

From EPWA.net

At the end of our last show it was announced that the fans would be voting on who they would want to see compete for the EPWA Internet Title. The masses have spoken and the bracket has been set. Congratulations to the following eight individuals for receiving enough of the fan vote to have a chance to compete for the Internet Title:

Austin Aries
v
Ted Dibiase

Equinox II
v
Escorpion Egipcio

Vin Gerard
v
Jay Lethal

Chris Sabin
v
Davey Richards

On July 25, 2009 one of these individuals will leave EPWA Cyber War with 20 pounds of gold on his shoulder in the form of the EPWA Internet Title!

Rating: ***
(The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple retained the EPWA WAR Titles.)

Match for the vacant EPWA Internet Title:
Chris Sabin pinned Austin Aries with the Cradle Shock in 0:07:44.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Chris Sabin won the EPWA Internet Title.)

Observations:

Chris Sabin battled his way through three very capable opponents in the form of Davey Richards, Vin Gerard and Austin Aries to claim the Internet Title! Sabin was not overly dominant in any of his matches tonight but he found a way to survive long enough to capitalize on the mistakes of his opponents. Things won't get any easier for the man who calls himself "The Future" as he will now be forced to defend the belt at every event barring special circumstances.

Something else to consider is how will Alex Shelley, Sabin's partner in the Motor City Machine Guns, go about his business now that he will be forced to become a single's wrestler. He came to the ring at the end of the show to celebrate his partner's championship win but some of those "in the know" said that there already seemed to be some resentment coming from Shelley. Keep an eye on that situation.

Now onto a bit of sad news. Equinox II was assaulted with a chair by Crossbones after his match with Escorpion Egipcio. The only connection between Equinox and Crossbones is the fact that he teamed up with Kevin Steen and El Generico at the last card to take on The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple in the first round of the WAR Titles Tournament. Crossbones hit Equinox with several vicious chair shots to the head before Pillmanizing his left ankle. By the time help arrived the damage had been done. When we find out an update on Equinox's condition it will be passed along to you.

Speaking of The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple, they successfully defended their WAR Titles against Incoherence and Mike Quackenbush. Depending on how well the Order does on Night One of the "Crowning a Champion" weekend the Order will defend their belts against a team of the championship committees choosing.

Keep checking EPWA.net as we will have an update on the condition of Equinox II as well as a rundown of the 16 first-round matches on tap for Crowning a Champion Night One!
jmlambPosted on 05/01/09 at 04:38:11

From EPWA.net:

Earlier today EPWA officials learned that Equinox II suffered a broken right ankle as a direct result of the heinous attack perpetrated by Crossbones at Cyber War last month. Equinox will be out of action for at least six months and, more importantly, will miss out on the right to compete for the EPWA Heavyweight Title at the Crowning a Champion weekend.

Officials contacted Crossbones for an explanation but only received this ominous e-mail from UltraMantis Black: "The attack on Equinox is just the first phase of the Neo-Solar Temple's plan to bring this company down to its knees."

Due to the injury, EPWA officials have signed the legendary Pantera to take Equinox's place. He signed a short-term contract earlier this afternoon with the provision that it will roll over to a full-time contract if he ends up winning the Heavyweight Title.

With the signing of Pantera, 31 of the tournaments 32 entries are now known. Officials have been sworn to secrecy over the identity of the 32nd grappler, only stating that they fully expect the freaks to be out and about at The Arena on August 8.

Any circuit with John Morrison in it is bound to get my attention. I like the pairing with Rhodes and DiBiase. I kind of picture Morrison being the Flair like leader in the group though. I tend to compare him more to Flair than the popular opinion of HBK.

I need to get schooled in Chikara and Dragon Gate. I like having more wrestling alternatives, even if I don't necessarily understand it.
jmlambPosted on 05/01/09 at 17:57:14

I would say it is safe to assume that John Morrison is the unofficial leader of Simply the Best. I keep my sim about three months (game time) ahead of what I post so I can keep the future in perspective and I have to say that StB won't be featured quite the way I wanted them to be originally as the injury bug has been going around.

Anyways, I must return to the Palace of Wisdom.

EDIT: I am not too familiar with Dragon Gate. I download whatever I can find on Xtreme Wrestling Torrents and I can name some names but all I really see is a lot of really cool spots. CHIKARA's matches can turn into spotfests, too, but I really enjoy how fleshed out their characters are. Even the the silliest gimmicks are rather enjoyable.

ROUND TWO:
Scott Steiner defeated Pantera when Pantera passed out in the Steiner Recliner in 0:10:03.
Rating: * 3/4

Observations:

What a crazy first day of the EPWA's Crowning a Champion weekend. Fans who came to the arena saw over four hours of non-stop wrestling action that culminated with the one and only "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner being the surprise final entrant of the Heavyweight Title tournament. He toyed with the recently signed Pantera for most of the match before making him take a nap in the Steiner Recliner. Scott Steiner could truly being a dominant force in a federation full of lucha libre based competitors and other light heavyweights. Of the eight men that have advanced to night two, Steiner has to be the odds-on favorite.

There were some other interesting story lines that played themselves out during the night. There were two instances of teammates having to battle one another. Delirious and Mike Quackenbush faced each other in a fast-paced match that saw the teacher defeat the student. Leader of the Order of the Neo-Solar Temple UltraMantis Black was forced to take on Crossbones in a match that had some intrigue surrounding it. UltraMantis Black ordered Crossbones to lay down but the Real Life Heavyweight Horror ignored the directive and gave Black a run for his money. Some fans were hoping that they were seeing the demise of the Order but after the match Crossbones bowed to his leader in a show of subservience.

Former tag-team partners in the "other" organization, Edge and Christian, also found themselves matched up in the second round. The two Canadians proved that they knew each others moves and tendencies as the match turned into an exhibition of counters. Edge escaped the Killswitch by pushing Christian into the ropes and catching him with a Spear on the rebound. If Steiner is the favorite going into Night Two then the Rated R Superstar has to be the second favorite.

Eddie Edwards, one half of the American Wolves, had to be the surprise of the night. He dispatched Internet Champion Chris Sabin in the first round and then pinned Hallowicked in the second. His Moonsault Side Slam finisher (think solo Spanish Fly) may be difficult to setup but if Edwards hits it then the match is, for all intents and purposes, over. Hitting that move on Scott Steiner tomorrow night will prove to be quite the undertaking.

On top of the final three rounds of the Heavyweight Title tournament, the following matches have been signed:
-A Four Way Tag Team Scramble Elimination Match between Simply the Best (Rhodes/DiBiase), The Colony (Fire Ant/Soldier Ant), Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder and Kevin Steen and El Generico.
-EPWA Internet Champion Chris Sabin will defend the title against Austin Aries.
-Crossbones and Hydra of The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple will take on Incoherence (Delirious/Hallowicked).

x S. Steiner beat Punk via the Steiner Recliner in 0:20:15
Rating: *** 3/4
(Scott Steiner won the EPWA Heavyweight Title.)

Observations:

All hail "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner, the first ever EPWA Heavyweight Champion! His Steiner Recliner proved to be most lethal as the champ used it to win all three of his matches tonight. For the second night in a row Steiner was able to use his size and strength advantage to overwhelm the competition. Eddie Edwards put up a noble fight but he was unable to maneuver Steiner into position for the Moonsault Side Slam and ultimately lost. Mike Quackenbush was able to use his speed and ring knowledge to keep Steiner off balance but once the Genetic Freak hit a few power moves it was all all but over.

CM Punk proved to be the biggest challenge Steiner faced all weekend. The Punker had a tougher road than Steiner to the finals and was worse for wear after his matches with Amasis and Edge. Edge injured Punk's ribs after hitting multiple Spears on Punk during their semifinal match. This led to Steiner being able to quickly win the first fall of the tournament finals due to the Steiner Recliner. After some back and forth action Punk was able to put Steiner to sleep to win the second fall. The third fall saw many near falls and long two counts but Steiner ultimately came out on top after slapping on the Steiner Recliner for the second time in the match. It should be noted that Punk did not tap but passed out from the pain on the decisive third fall. As Steiner celebrated after the match Edge made another appearance and led a full-scale assault on the down Punk. While CM Punk and Scott Steiner are set to do battle next month at Fall Brawl, you can bet that Punk will have Edge on his mind.

The Motor City Machine Guns were both successful in their singles matches as Alex Shelley defeated the leader of Simply the Best in a hard fought match while Chris Sabin retained his Internet Championship against Austin Aries. Shelley came down to the ring after Sabin's victory and told his partner that he was happy that he successfully defended the title but that he was even happier because the EPWA Championship Committee signed Shelley vs. Sabin at Fall Brawl next month. Shelley left the ring with a smug look on his face while Sabin looked genuinely upset.

Morrison's partners in crime, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, were the winners of the Four Way Scramble. Scrambles will be a staple of EPWA events from here on out as the Championship Committee will take the results into consideration when determining what trios will be able to compete for the WAR Titles.

These matches have already been signed for Fall Brawl on September 9, 2009:
-EPWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE REMATCH: Scott Steiner (c) vs. CM Punk!
-EPWA INTERNET TITLE MATCH: Chris Sabin (c) vs. Alex Shelley!
-THREE-WAY SCRAMBLE: Simply the Best (Rhodes/DiBiase) vs. The American Wolves (Edwards/Richards) vs. Jay Lethal/Consequences Creed
-The Osirian Portal vs. The Colony in trios action
-Plus Austin Aries, John Morrison, Christian and more!

Good stuff.  Perhaps Steiner won the EPWA title and decided to shit-can the GSW.  ;-)

I enjoy the CHIKARA guys and would've put more in my fed but saw yours and didn't want to have such a similar roster.  Good luck with it!

Thanks for the kind words.

Steiner may play an idiot on TV but he knows where his bread will get buttered. If I had to choose between jobbing to Randy Savage or wrestling a bunch of dudes who look like they are wearing Halloween costumes I'd probably go with the latter.

From EPWA.net:
Due to the actions of Edge after the main event of Crowning a Champion: Night Two he has been banned from ringside for the rematch between Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner and CM Punk at Fall Brawl. Edge has made it clear that CM Punk is the bane of his existence but the Championship Committee has told 'The Rated R Superstar' that he must wait until after the September 5 event before he can meet Punk in the ring. If Edge or any of his associates decide to disregard the Committee then he will be unable to compete for any of the EPWA Championships for one full year.

*****

Speaking of Steiner, the newly crowned Heavyweight Champion said in an interview with DOIWrestling.com that he is looking forward to a long title reign due to the fact that "none of these Halloween costume wearing, flippy-floppy pencil-necked geeks have what it takes to beat Big Poppa Pump." It certainly does not look like Steiner is going out of his way to make allies.

*****

The tension between Internet Champion Chris Sabin and his Motor City Machine Guns tag-team partner Alex Shelley has been an interesting side-story over the course of the past few events. Both Shelley and Sabin have stated on numerous occasions that nothing is wrong and that all is well in the Guns' camp but those close to the situation have a different take. Shelley has been painted by some as an egomaniac that can't cope with the singles success of his partner. You can bet that he will pull out all the stops at in his quest to unseat Sabin at Fall Brawl.

*****

While some fans thought that The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple was going to implode when UltraMantis Black and Crossbones met in the second round of the Heavyweight Title tournament the group has since squashed those rumors via an e-mail statement. Black believes that the competition between the two made them each stronger and proved to him that Crossbones is a true believer. The Order's leader also included a rather cryptic sentence that read: "It will only be a matter of time until this company is turned on its head by the Neo-Solar Temple." Not sure what that means but it looks like we will find out at some point.

Scott Steiner pinned CM Punk after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:15:32.

(Scott Steiner retained the EPWA Heavyweight Title.)

Match observations:

The EPWA Championship Committee made is very clear that Edge could not physically interfere in the Heavyweight Title match between Scott Steiner and CM Punk. That did not stop him from having a direct outcome in the match. 'The Rated R Superstar' was acting very peculiarly throughout his six-man tag match with Ryder and Hawkins against Incoherence and Mike Quackenbush. Edge looked as though he was scouting different spots around ringside. About halfway through the match Edge was sent to ringside courtesy of a Quackenbush lariat. He rolled around ringside and one of the EPWA cameras caught Edge producing a lead pipe from his boot and placing it under the ring. Edge stayed outside the ring for the rest of the match and didn't seem too upset with his team lost.

That same lead pipe enabled Scott Steiner to make his Heavyweight Title defense. CM Punk used every one of his tricks to take 'Big Poppa Pump' to the limit. Head referee Alex Jones was left dazed after Punk inadvertently collided with him coming off the ring ropes. Steiner took advantage of the lack of supervision to clobber Punk upside the head with the pipe that was planted earlier by Edge. Punk was adamant after the match and made it clear to EPWA officials that he doesn't care about winning the Heavyweight Title; his new goal is running Edge out of the promotion.

The Motor City Machine Guns came to blows tonight as Internet Champion Chris Sabin successfully defended his title against Alex Shelley. The match started off rather slowly as the partners decided ahead of time that they would keep it civilized. The agreement didn't last long, however, as Alex Shelley's lust for the Internet Title led him to try and cheat his way to victory on several occasions. The match soon turned into a contest of who could hit a bigger move. Ultimately Sabin hit a dangerous looking crucifix power bomb DDT that gave him the match. The partners embraced after the match but anyone with half a mind could tell that Shelley was extremely disappointed in the outcome.

Pantera was given one last chance to earn himself a full-time contract as he teamed with Kevin Steen and El Generico to take on the WAR Champions The Order of the Neo-Solar Temple. The challengers came close on several occasions but, in the end, the champs came out victorious. Once again UltraMantis Black picked up the victory after Crossbones and Hydra did all the work. Steen and Generico were visibly upset after the match as this marked the second time that their third was pinned by the Neo-Solar Temple. Steenerico's quest for a competent third partner continues.

Two stables are starting to establish themselves as serious contenders for the WAR Titles. The Osirian Portal dispatched of The Colony rather easily in the night's opening contest. None of the members of The Colony could match up with the size and strength advantage of Escorpion Egipcio. Simply the Best has also made a name for themselves in the tag-team scrambles. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase have been victorious their last two times out. John Morrison, StB's self-described leader, wasn't as lucky as he lost to Christian in a hard-fought match. There are some backstage rumors that describe Rhodes and DiBiase as being rather agitated with Morrison and his perceived lack of dedication. If StB is going to reach out and grab the brass ring as a group then all three cogs have to be working together.

A huge match has been signed for the next event. Internet Champion Chris Sabin will captain a team of his choosing against Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner and four teammates of his choosing. As Sabin is the de facto number one contender to Steiner's belt this match could go a long way in determining just how close he is to making himself the EPWA's top dog!

From EPWA.net:

The teams for the huge 10-man tag team match at Ten Man Warfare have been selected. EPWA Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner selected two tag teams to join up with him: The American Wolves and Ryder and Hawkins. Steiner's reasoning for selecting these four individuals? "They aren't mask wearing freaks," said Steiner to EPWA.net.

Internet Champion Chris Sabin made some highly interesting choices for his team. First and foremost, he decided against selecting Alex Shelley, his usual tag team partner. Sabin stopped short of saying that he could not trust his partner when questioned about his choice. Kevin Steen, El Generico, Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed will be at Sabin's side on September 26.

Another huge match has been announced for Ten Man Warfare. While Chris Sabin is the de facto number one contender to the Heavyweight Title due to his possession of the EPWA Internet Title belt, the Championship Committee has decided to line up some more contenders for Steiner. Edge, UltraMantis Black, CM Punk and Christian will battle each other in a four corners match! The winner is guaranteed to be thrown into the middle of the Heavyweight Title picture.

Match observations:

There was a ton of hype surrounding tonight's main event in recent days. Sadly, the fans did not get their money's worth. However, Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner and company certainly made their point. Referee Alex Jones was unable to assume control of the match from the outset as the participants brawled all around the ringside area. Internet Champion and team captain Chris Sabin found himself on the wrong side of the numbers game repeatedly and was easy pickings for Steiner. Post match Steiner made it clear that he is the only champion in the EPWA and that the "interweb" belt means nothing. Steiner then went on to challenge Sabin to a Double Jeopardy Title vs. Title match at the next event. The Championship Committee hasn't made a decision as to whether or not they will sanction this match but check back with EPWA.net in the coming days to find out their decision.

The one reason why the Committee may be hesitant to throw Sabin and Steiner in the ring together is due to the fact that Christian was victorious in the four corners number one contenders match. The match was a four way in name only as CM Punk and Edge took themselves out of the match early by brawling up the ramp to the back. UltraMantis Black came close to defeating Christian on several occasions but without the other members of the Neo-Solar Temple in his corner Black just wasn't on Christian's level. Christian has already made it clear that he wants to cash in his title shot as soon as possible as he feels he can be the man to end Steiner's title reign.

While Chris Sabin will be gunning for Steiner's Heavyweight Title there are some individuals that are pulling away from the pack in the Internet Title picture. Austin Aries and Vin Gerard were both impressive in their victories tonight. The match between Aries and Pantera was billed as a special attraction and the two definitely delivered. They wrestlers went back and forth all match countering each other moves and generally keeping the crowd on the edge of it's seat. Aries picked up the victory after turning Pantera's top rope frankensteiner attempt into a massive power bomb. Gerard picked up a huge victory over a visibly distracted Alex Shelley. Shelley was not chosen to be a part of Sabin's team and the snub has been wearing on him since the announcement was made. No offense to Girard but he just isn't on Shelley's level at this stage of his career. Shelley will need to get his act together so that no other wrestler's make a name for themselves at his expense.

Simply the Best had a lackluster outing for their standards. Instead of the usual Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase combo, John Morrison found himself tagging with DiBiase. If the duo would have been able to win the scramble and pin a member of the Neo-Solar Temple in the process then they certainly would have earned a WAR Title Shot in the near future. Instead, the team of Incoherence and Mike Quackenbush will take on the Neo-Solar Temple one last time for the titles at the next card. If they fail to defeat the Order then they will never get another WAR Title shot for as long as the Order holds the belts. The stakes will certainly be high next month.
