- Tonight's card was a short one but a huge one as it was announced that Dusty Rhodes next week in Morgantown, West Virginia will defend the WCWC World Heavyweight title against Macho Man Randy Savage.


Mark Youngblood vs. Curt Hennig

- In a great opening match, Mark Youngblood was able to get past Curt Hennig with the help of The Italian Stallion. I guess this is a case of Payback best served cold.

Winner: Mark Youngblood after a powerslam in 0:12:17.

- Rick Steamboat was asked backstage about his Iron Man match tonight with Ric Flair. Steamboat talked about him and Flair going at it the last few weeks. He finished by saying each time they have met Flair has been on the losing side and tonight will be no different.


Kato Kung Lee vs. Magnum T.A.

- Robert Gibson sat at the announcer table to help call this match and Kato Kung Lee was not happy with that. Magnum T.A was all over Lee. T.A tossed Lee out the ring and bumped into Gibson who used this as an excuse to get a shot in to Lee. The ref decided he seen enough and called the match.

Winner: Kato Kung Lee by disqualification in 0:10:32.

- Macho Man Randy Savage backstage was asked about facing Sgt. Slaughter tonight. Savage said that Slaughter was going down to the next World champion and that Rhodes should enjoy the last week as champion.


WCWC North American Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu

Yatsu won the 6 man Battle Royal last week for a chance at Blanchard's North American title. Blanchard had no real issues with Yatsu and held on to the title.

Winner: Tully Blanchard with the Slingshot Suplex in 0:15:33.

Dick Slater vs. Hawk

- The Hardliners and Road Warriors have been going at it for a few weeks now and tonight Slater and Hawk went at each other in single action. Slater worked hawk over and was able to apply the sleeper and get the win.

Winner: Dick Slater with a sleeperhold in 0:12:48.

Sgt. Slaughter vs. Randy Savage

x Slaughter beat Savage via the Cobra Clutch Sleeperhold in 0:03:33

x Slaughter beat Savage via the Cobra Clutch Sleeperhold in 0:14:26


- Savage was on his way to winning the third fall but got distracted when World Champ Dusty Rhodes came to ring side. Slaughter took advantage and locked on the Cobra Cluth to take the win.

Winner: Sgt. Slaughter 2 to 1

Iron Man Match:
Rick Steamboat vs. Ric Flair:


x Flair beat Steamboat via a back suplex in 0:17:42
x Steamboat beat Flair via the Flying Cross Body Press in 0:23:20

- Flair and Steamboat continued fighting even after the bell. Savage came down and hit Steamboat with a chair. This brought out Dusty Rhodes but Flair and Savage rolled out the ring as Rhodes checked on Steamboat.

Next Week, World title match as Dusty Rhodes defends the title against the Macho Man Randy Savage. Ric Flair and Rick Steamboat go at it once more this time in a Falls Count Anywhere match and the Road Warriors will defend their World Tag Team titles!

- The crowd is pumped as tonight the Road Warriors will defend the World Tag titles and Dusty Rhodes will defend his World Heavyweight title against Macho Man randy Savage.


The Italian Stallion vs. Curt Hennig

- Hennig and the Stallion have had issues with each other a couple of weeks since Hennig interference was a factor in the Stallion losing his North American title. A great match to open the night and the night will belong to the Stallion as he was able to hit the Stallion Slam for the win.

Winner: The Italian Stallion with the Stallion Slam in 0:03:45.

- The World Champ Dusty Rhodes is seen with the title next to him on a bench as Rhodes starts to change from his street clothes. Savage enters the room and gets into Rhodes face then looks down to the title. He tells Rhodes to enjoy his few remaining hours as champ. Before Rhodes could respond, A masked man blasts the champ from behind while Savage lays the boots. Steamboat then comes in to make the save but the damage was done as Rhodes lay bleeding on the floor.



Koko B. Ware vs. Barry Horowitz

The Birdman had the crowd going as he had no problem taking out Horowitz for the win.

Winner: Koko B. Ware after a flying forearm in 0:08:33.

Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and Warlord)

- Jimmy Hart and his Powerhouse of a team are looking to make a statement to the Express and to the Road Warriors but the Express still believe they have a shot at the titles and battled the Powers to a draw.

Winner:draw
Rating: * 3/4

- We go back to the locker room as the trainers are bandaging up Dusty Rhodes. He asks Steamboat if he had any idea who the mask assailant was. Steamboat had no idea but told Rhodes he would look into it.


Mike Von Erich vs. Boris Zhukov

- This one almost went to the time limit but Von Erich was able to lock on the Iron Claw for the win.

Winner: Mike Von Erich with the Iron Claw in 0:18:16.

WCWC World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) vs. The Hard Liners (Dick Slater and Dick Murdoch)

- After weeks of talk the Hard Liners again tried to take the titles from the Warriors but for the second time the Warriors were to much and retained the titles.

Winner: The Road Warriors after a flying shoulderblock in 0:05:40.
Rating: ** 1/4
(The Road Warriors retained the World Tag Team Titles.)



Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Rick Steamboat vs. Ric Flair


- Steamboat looked good against the Nature Boy in a falls count anywhere match. This one went all the way to the concessions stand but would return to the ring where Steamboat took the big win.

Winner: Rick Steamboat with the Flying Cross Body Press in 0:18:10.

WCWC World Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes vs. Randy Savage

- Rhodes was not 100% due to the earlier attack and Savage took advantage of it. Rhodes started to come back and they battled on the floor leading to a double countout.

Winner: Draw by double countout in 0:07:28.
Rating: ** 1/4
(Dusty Rhodes retained the World Heavyweight Title.)

- Backstage we see Randy Savage talking to the Masked Wrestler who attacked Dusty Rhodes last week. Savage tells the Masked Wrestler that their plan didn't work. The Masked Wrestler told Savage to calm down and told Savage that he has a plan that will bring Rhodes world title run to an end.



King Kong Bundy vs. Jim Jamison

Bundy made quick work of Jamison but during the match Bundy came down awkward on his arm and basically wrestled with one arm. After the match Bundy made a quick exit to the back.

Winner: King Kong Bundy with the Avalanche in 0:08:15. Rating: -****


- North American Champion Tully Blanchard was in the ring and talked about the lack of competition in WCWC. He tore into former North American Champion The Italian Stallion and how easy it was to take the belt from him.



Sputnik Monroe vs. Mark Youngblood

Monroe seemed to feed off the boo's of the crowd and defeated the crowd favorite Youngblood.

Winner: Sputnik Monroe with the NECKBREAKER in 0:11:08.

- In a taped segment WCWC World Champion Dusty Rhodes talked about the attack against him last week. He talked about going against the doctors request and defended his title. He then said he would be in Mexico and Central America for the next 2 weeks but when he returns he will find out who attacked him and make sure they get what they deserves.



Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and Warlord)

Jimmy Hart's Powerhouse came in with eyes on the world titles. For some reason they figured the Express would be pushovers. Tonight Morton and Gibson showed Jimmy and his boys they are nobody's doormats.

Winner: Rock'n'Roll express with a sleeperhold in 0:10:05.

- Rick Steamboat was asked about his cage match tonight against Rick Flair. Steamboat brought up previous matches and talked about how he has come out on top and tonight would be no different.



The Italian Stallion vs. Curt Hennig

For the last few weeks, Hinnig and Stallion have been at each other's throats and tonight it came to ahead. Hinnig's cockiness did him in as he turned right into a Stallion Slam.

Winner: The Italian Stallion with the Stallion Slam in 0:05:11.

- Stallion got a microphone from the announcer and responded to Tully Blanchard's rant about no competition in WCWC. He challenged Blanchard to put the North American title up next week and he would be glad to show Blanchard all the competition he wants.



Magnum T.A. vs. Boris Zhukov

For the past two weeks, Zhukov has been making some noise and tonight faced an upbeat Terry Allen. Zhukov and Allen went at each other but it was T.A who came out the winner tonight.

Winner: Magnum T.A with the Belly-to-Belly Suplex in 0:13:55.

- Zhukov was not happy with the outcome and attacked T.A from behind. After a couple of clotheslines and a slam on the arena floor, Zhukov walkd away satisfied.



No-Time-Limit-Cage Match:
Ric Flair vs. Rick Steamboat


The Main event lived up to the billing as both men left it in the ring. Both men had chances to excape the ring but each time one got close the other would find the energy to pull the other down. Steamboat looked like he had the advantage but instead of climbing out the ring, he tried to drop an elbow from the top of the cage. This backfired as he missed and came crashing down on the elbow. Flair took the advantage and attacked the arm and made his way out the cage for the win.

Winner: Ric Flair by escaping the cage in 0:17:44.

King Kong Bundy tore his right triceps during a match in Lexington. Doctors are saying it's bad and will require surgery. More details when we get it.

WCWC World Heavyweight Champion Dusty Rhodes will battle Alfonso Dantés in a series of matches around Mexico with the finale on 2/27/88 in Mexico City for the World title.

- We open to recorded video of Dusty Rhodes in Mexico City. Rhodes is seen meeting the fans and talking about how great the fans have been here in Mexico. Rhodes then poses with some fans for a photo when from nowhere a masked assailant blasts Rhodes from the side. He then slams Rhodes into a fruit cart then into some crates. The Masked wrestler stands over Rhodes and tells him that his days as World Champion are numbered.



Koko B. Ware and Mark Youngblood vs. Stan Stasiak and Ron Starr

With the crowd stunned by what they just witnessed, Koko B. Ware and Mark Youngblood got things started with some great tag action.  Great back and forth action throughout the match with Mark Youngblood picking up the pin.

Winner: Koko B. Ware and Mark Youngblood with the Flying Tomahawk in 0:17:48.

- It is announced that next week the United States Title Tournament will begin.



Magnum T.A. vs. Boris Zhukov

Last week Zhukov was non to happy with his loss to Terry Allen last week and attacked T.A after the match. Terry quickly asked and was granted this match. Zhukov seemed in control but Allen started fighting back. Just then Earthquake blasted T.A from behind. The ref called for the bell but that stopped nothing. Earthquake hit splash after splash until T.A was motionless. Officials finally removed Zhukov and Earthquake from the ring and attended to T.A.

Winner: Magnum T.A. by disqualification in 0:10:34.
Rating: 1/4*

- North American Champion Tully Blanchard entered the ring and talked about the Italian Stallion and his demand for a title shot. Blanchard said that being the North American Champion comes with some perks and that's deciding who and when he defends his title. He then said that to answer Stallion's demand for a title shot....the answer was no! The crowd booed as The Stallion made his way to the ring. He got in Blanchard's face and called him a farce of a champion and probably a little chicken. Before Stallion could say anything else, Blanchard laid him out with the belt and yelled at him before slapping him around before leaving the ring to the boos of the crowd.



Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. The Powers of Pain (The Barbarian and Warlord)

These teams are quickly starting to dislike each other as they meet for the 3rd times in as many weeks. Jimmy Hart tried to interfere but was out on his back as the Warlord passed out in the sleeper.

Winner: Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson)with the Sleeper hold in 0:13:22.

Sgt. Slaughter vs. Playboy Buddy Rose

Rose was not happy when Slaughter came out since Rose was scheduled to face Steamboat. Still was a good match but it was the Slaughter and the Camel Cluth for the win.

Winner: Sgt. Slaughter with the Cobra Clutch Sleeperhold in 0:14:10.

Barry Horowitz and Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal)

The Warriors were in true form as they decimated Horowitz and Yatsu ending with the Doomsday Device.
