NAWA WrestleClash IV Preview(Predictions Welcome)

MattHarmsPosted on 12/22/08 at 02:59:41

Its time, for the Season Four Finale, NAWA WrestleClash IV, August 14th, 2005 only on Pay Per View. Some amazing matches will take place on this show as we close out one season of the New Age Wrestling Alliance and step forward into another season.

NAWA World Title Match:
Ron Waterman vs. Miles Stylish(c)

Both of these men have a storied history, both starting out their careers in then-NAWA Commissioner Disco Inferno's Boogie Woogie Regime but that was two years ago. Since then they have had several great batles, the latest being a finals of the tournament for the vacated NAWA World Title, when Stylish beat Waterman but not without controversy as Tony Mamaluke interfered, costing Waterman the match. That sidetracked Waterman into a feud with Mamaluke, over several months, while Stylish occupied his time with defending his championship against the likes of Jerry Lynn, Scott Steiner, the Gambler, and Bryan Danielson. There was still one challenge that awaited and Waterman stepped back into the title picture, winning a six way dance, last eliminating his rival Tony Mamaluke, get get his chance at the NAWA Championship, a belt that is still held by Stylish. Waterman has gone an entire year without the gold, having lost it to the Dark Warrior back at WrestleClash III and he wants it back. Stylish wants to cement his legacy as champion. Who will win when these two titans collide?

Prediction:

I-Quit Match:
Raven vs. CM Punk(w/Larry Sweeney)

These is the definition of a blood feud that started when Punk pinned Raven back in January. This lead to a feud, where Punk has beaten Raven at every turn, by dubious means, dubbing himself the "franchise" of the NAWA, in a slap in the face to Raven, who has been given that title previously. Then the ultimate slap in the face came to this entire company, on the 7th of July, when CM Punk announced he is leaving the New Age Wrestling Alliance, to compete in a certain rival company that we won't even dignify by naming and thus give them any more free publicity that they have gotten. Punk revealed that he purposely injured former NAWA World Champion Harry Harris, putting him on the shelf. Raven took offense to this, wanting Punk in a match, one more time. Punk blocked Raven at every turn, before agreeing that if Teddy Hart beat Punk, then Raven would have his match. Punk lost by disqualification and thus Raven gets his match, but Punk chose the rules, making it an I-Quit Match. Punk won such a match with AJ Styles last year at WrestleClash III but you better believe Raven will die before he submits to CM Punk and lets down the entire New Age Wrestling Alliance. This is Punk's final match in this company, win, lose, or draw, and the cocky traitor has promised victory no matter what cost.

Prediction:

NAWA International Title Match:
Teddy Hart vs. Tony Mamaluke(c)(w/Larry Sweeney)

These two men are no strangers to each other, with Mamaluke beating Hart back at WrestleClash III to capture the NAWA Cruiserweight Title, ending the longest reign in the entire nearly four year history of the NAWA. Hart returned the favor, beating Mamaluke at StarClash. This is the rubber match between these two on Pay Per View, with the roles reversed. Hart is the hero and Mamaluke is the villian. Hart got in this match when he won a four way number one contenders match and has set his sights on capturing the NAWA International Champions. Sweeney and Mamaluke will no doubt concoct a dastardly plan for Mamaluke to keep it around his waist.

Prediction:

NAWA World Tag Team Title Match:
The Archangels of Anarchy(Scott Steiner and Christopher Daniels)(w/Desdomia) vs. Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley(c)

This was set up when Bentley and Sabin won the belts from Armageddon and Destruction and bestest them in a series of return matches. Daniels returned and beat both Sabin and Bentley in back to back singles matches to earn the number one contendership for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles. His partner is the ultra dangerous Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner, a man who is no stranger tag team wrestling himself. These two men mean business and the champions have their backs against the wall against this challenge, of two world class competitors.

Prediction:

NAWA Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Jerry Lynn vs. Bryan Danielson(c)

Over the past several months, Jerry Lynn has hit a bit of a stumbling block since the break up of the Triumvirate. On the other side of the fence, Bryan Danielson has been on the rise, putting together a great reign as Cruiserweight Champion, along with winning the Gold Rush Tournament and taking NAWA World Champion Miles Stylish to the limit, back at Night of the Rogues. When Lynn retired temporarily, Danielson called him on it, lighting a fire under the ass of Jerry Lynn. Lynn returned, blowing through the Cruiserweight Division in a six way match and laying out Danielson with a Cradle Piledriver. Danielson refuses to go down without a fight but Lynn is a grizzled veteran, promising to beat some respect into Danielson. It should no doubt be a barnburner when these two great athletes collide for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title.

Prediction:

NAWA Television Title Match:
Samoa Joe vs. the Gambler(c)

The Gambler has worked his way up from absolutely nothing in the NAWA, which all lead off to him ending the nearly six month NAWA Television Title reign of Sederick Skyhawk at Night of the Rogues. Samoa Joe has been a bulldozer who has plowed ever everyone he has competed against. Teddy Hart, AJ Styles, Norman Smiley, Sederick Skyhawk, Austin Aries, the list goes on on one. Tonight, he gets his first title shot against the Gambler. On this past Glory, the Gambler managed to take Joe down, with a little help from a steel chair, but physical injury only served to anger the monster. Joe will be both out for blood and the NAWA Televison Championship of the Gambler.

Prediction:

Strap Match:
AJ Styles vs. Ron Killings(w/Larry Sweeney)

Sweeney attempted to recruit Styles into his stable but Styles refused, causing Killings(Sweeney's newest client at the time) to attack Styles, laying it out. That lead to Styles and Killings at Night of the Rogues, where Killings beat Styles and then with help of Sweeney, Styles was beaten with a strap. Styles saved Twizted Youth a couple of weeks later and set up this strap match. Both men will be connected by the wrist by a leather strap and the only way to win is by pinfall or submission. Whipping with the strap is not only allowed but encouraged.

Prediction:

Tag Team Turmoil For the Number One Contendership for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles Featuring:
Archangels of Anarchy(Armageddon and Destruction)
Austin Aries and Alex Shelley
Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak
C.W. Anderson and Simon Diamond
Elix Skipper and Petey Williams
Johnny Excalibur and Twizted Youth
Rottweilers(Low-Ki and Homicide)
Sederick Skyhawk and a Mystery Partner
The French Revolution(Lord Napoleon and Pierre Marquette)

And the NAWA Debut of...Brother Ray and Brother Devon...Team 3D!

Ten teams. Two teams will start out and once one team is eliminated, the team who wins will fight the next team. This happens until there is only one team left and that team will become the number one contenders for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles. Lots of intrigue in this match, between longtime teams such as the Rottweilers, Elix and Petey, the Archangels, and Simon and C.W. duking it out for that title shot, the new team of Aries and Shelley attempting to make an impact, several teams trying to break out with a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a title shot. There's also the debut of Team 3D, one of the greatest tag teams of the past decade, and Sederick Skyhawk promising a partner. This should be an intriuging event.

Prediction for the Winners
Prediction for Skyhawk's Mystery Partner(Hint: This Man was Released by WWE over the Past Six Months)

And last, but certainly not least.

THE SCAFFOLD MATCH~! II:
Spanky and Shark Boy vs. Mr. Fernando and Richard Ramos Ricardo Attorney, at Law

This feud started, oddly enough, over a taco. Spanky stole a taco from right under Ricardo's nose and wackiness ensued. Ricardo won a few matches with Spanky but the feud was shelved when Ricardo suffered an injury that put on the shelf. When he returned and joined Sederick Skyhawk enterprises, Spanky had already integrated himself into the cruiserweight division. However, the feud reinstitquished itself in a tag team match where Spanky was pinned by Mr. Fernando, causing him to flip out and challenge Ricardo and Fernando to meet Sharky and Spanky in a Scaffold Match. Mr. Fernando had an epic encounter when he teamed with Twizted Youth to fight the French Revolution in a Scaffold Match over a year ago and of course, we would have to mention that classic Blindfold Scaffold Match between Twizted Youth and Mr. Fernando back at StarClash 04. This time, the direct sequel to the Backyard Dudes/French Revolution Scaffold Match back at Gold Rush 2004 will take place. Both teams will fight on a scaffold, eight feet above the entrance ramp and over a children's wading pool of salsa. This match can be won by pinfall, submission, or throwing your opponent into the scaffold. This match will not be for the weak at heart, as these two teams collide to open up the biggest show of the year.
