Rating: 1/4* * During the match, Brad Batten came down funny on his leg and had to be helped to the back after the match. Sputnik Monroe pinned Ken Raper with the NECKBREAKER in 0:13:49. Rating: * 1/4 * Lance Russell talks to Jimmy Hart and the Colossus of Death about COD match tonight against Jerry Lawler. William "Freezer" Thompson and Tojo Yamamoto battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: -***** Caribbean Strap Match: Sweet Brown Sugar defeated Eddie Gilbert in 0:07:39. Rating: ** 1/4 Dream Machine pinned Action Jackson with the FLYING LEGDROP in 0:10:17. Rating: * 3/4 [Jimmy Hart interfered against Action Jackson.] *Hart tried to grab Jackson but was taken out by Jackson. The Dream took advantage of the distraction and nailed Jackson with a vicious elbow to the back of the head. George Gulas and Mike Samples defeated The Nightmares (Nightmare Danny Davis and Nightmare Ken Wayne) when George Gulas pinned Nightmare Danny Davis after a flying bodypress in 0:05:17. Rating: -* *Lace Russell talkes about the Southern Tag Team title tournament next week between 8 teams. A Tag Team Lottery will take place to place wrestlers who do not have partners. Jackie Fargo pinned Dutch Mantell with the ATOMIC DROP in 0:09:51. Rating: *** Main Event Colossus of Death pinned Jerry Lawler after a gutwrench suplex in 0:13:56. Rating: ** * Hart still feeling the effects from Action Jackson. called out the Dream Machine to help the COD attack Lawler after the match. This brought out Sweet Brown Sugar to even the score sending Hart and his boys flying out the ring. Card rating: * Match observations: Memphis -In the main event at the Mid South Coliseum ended with the Colossus of Death and the Dream Machine attacking a downed Jerry Lawler after the match. Sweet Brown Sugar came down to help lawler but the dammage was done. Hart stated he was sending a message that Lawler may be the king but Hart and his boys run things now in Memphis. The Batten Twins looked good against the Memphis Vice but the victory was short lived. Brad Batten tore his Meniscus in his left knee. Unknown at the time how long he will be inactive or how this will effect the Tag Team Tournament next week. |

He then announced that due to the injury to Brad Batten their opponents the Nightmares will recieve a first round pass. Memphis Vice (Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant) defeated Ken Raper and Action Jackson when Lou Winston pinned Action Jackson after a series of stomps in 0:16:27. Rating: -1/4* Freezer Thompson and George Gulas defeated Sputnik Monroe and Dutch Mantell when George Gulas made Dutch Mantell submit to the LEG GRAPEVINE in 0:11:14. Rating: -* 1/4 [Saul Weingeroff interfered against George Gulas.] * Saul Weingeroff tripped Gulas and almost got his team disqualified. Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples defeated Dream Machine and Tojo Yamamoto when Jackie Fargo pinned Dream Machine with the ATOMIC DROP in 0:12:27. Rating: -1/2* *Lance Russell talks to Sweet Brown Sugar and Jerry Lawler about last week and tonights tag match against Death and Gilbert. The Nightmares (Nightmare Danny Davis and Nightmare Ken Wayne) defeated Memphis Vice (Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant) when Nightmare Ken Wayne pinned Lou Winston after a series of mounted punches in 0:11:00. Rating: ** Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples defeated Freezer Thompson and George Gulas when Jackie Fargo pinned George Gulas with the ATOMIC DROP in 0:07:04. Rating: -**** 1/2 Jerry Lawler and Sweet Brown Sugar defeated Eddie Gilbert and Colossus of Death when Jerry Lawler defeated Colossus of Death by disqualification in 0:09:43. Rating: 3/4* *Colossus of Death was disqualified after throwing the referee out the ring . Hart was furious. Match for the vacant Southern Tag Team Titles: The Nightmares (Nightmare Danny Davis and Nightmare Ken Wayne) defeated Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples when Nightmare Ken Wayne pinned Mike Samples with the FLYING STOMP in 0:07:10. Rating: * (The Nightmares won the Southern Tag Team Titles.) Card rating: -1/4* Match observations: Memphis - The Nightmares survived last night beating Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples for the vacant Southern Tag Team Titles. Ken Wayne hit a flying stump on Mike Samples to end the night. In other action, the team of Sweet Brown Sugar and Jerry Lawler defeated Colossus of Death and Eddie Gilbert when Colossus was disqualified for tossing referee Jim Trap out of the ring. The match continued almost 4 minutes with a new referee when Trap returned to the ring and called the match. Jimmy Hart called it bull and said this was another example of the favoritism shown to Lawler here in Memphis. |

George Gulas made Dream Machine submit to the LEG GRAPEVINE in 0:10:16. Rating: -* Tojo Yamamoto pinned Freezer Thompson with his special move in 0:16:07. Rating: -**** Open Challenge Memphis Vice (Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant) and The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: ** 1/4 Colossus of Death pinned Sweet Brown Sugar after a gutwrench suplex in 0:07:11. Rating: DUD Eddie Gilbert pinned Jerry Lawler with the Piledriver in 0:11:37. Rating: *** 1/4 [Missy Hyatt interfered against Jerry Lawler.] The Nightmares (Nightmare Danny Davis and Nightmare Ken Wayne) defeated Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples when Nightmare Danny Davis pinned Mike Samples after a small package in 0:12:31. Rating: 1/4* (The Nightmares retained the Southern Tag Team Titles.) Card rating: 1/2* Match observations: Memphis -Jackie Fargo and Mike Samples put up a valiant effort but were unable to take the Southern Tag titles from the Nightmares. Mike Samples was in control of the match until he attempted a body slam and Danny Davis counted with a small package to get the three count. Jimmy Hart continues his mind games on Jerry Lawler as Missy Hyatt distracted the referee and Jimmy Hart slipped Eddie Gilbert a pair of brass knuckles who knocked Lawler out and then added injury to insult with a piledriver. Attendents checked on Lawler who was a little groggy but ok. |

Lawler talked about Hart crossing the line and that tonight he and Sweet Brown Sugar will take out Hart and his team. George Gulas and Bart Batten defeated Memphis Vice (Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant) when Bart Batten pinned Jerry Bryant after a flying cross body press in 0:07:19. Rating: -* 1/2 Tojo Yamamoto defeated Ken Raper by disqualification in 0:01:44. Rating: -* 3/4 [Freezer Thompson interfered against Tojo Yamamoto.] Troy "Dream Machine" Graham pinned Freezer Thompson after a powerslam in 0:03:03. Rating: -* 1/2 * Lance Russell talked to Jimmy Hart who was standing next to Colossus of Death to respond to Jerry Lawler. He told Russell that Lawler has yet to beat his man fairly and tonight to counteract the Lawler effect here in Memphis, tonight's main event Hart is bringing in his own referee. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) defeated Butch and Casidy when Fulton defeated Casidy by pinfall in 0:09:18. Rating: -1/4* Action Jackson pinned Dutch Mantell after a bodyslam in 0:14:34. Rating: * Jackie Fargo pinned Nightmare Ken Wayne after a flying forearm in 0:04:47. Rating: 3/4* Eddie Gilbert and Colossus of Death defeated Jerry Lawler and Sweet Brown Sugar when Eddie Gilbert pinned SB Sugar after a Hotshot in 0:06:41. Rating: 1/2* Card rating: 1/4* Match observations: Memphis - One would think that Jerry Lawler, the King of Memphis Wrestling would get a break, but for the last few weeks Jimmy Hart and his team of Colossus of Death and Eddie Gilbert has found ways of beating Lawler and Sweet Brown Sugar. Last night at the Mid South Coliseum, Lawler could not catch a break, The "special Referee" that Hart brought in would not count any pin fall attempts by Lawler or Sweet Brown Sugar and halted any offence Lawler and Brown got on. With the numbers stacked against them it didn't take long for Gilbert to get the win over Sweet Brown Sugar. Next week, Memphis Wrestling starts qualifying rounds for the Southern Heavyweight title. |
