NWA...The Major League of Pro Wrestling!!

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 11/14/08 at 04:42:46

The day is April 1, 1985. Jim Crockett Promotions has taken over Championship Wrestling from Georgia and combines CWG and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling to become the NWA. But this NWA is different. We have a few of MACW wrestlers, we kept a few from CWG. Tommy Rich, Ron Garvin, Bob Roop, Rip Rogers and Scott Irwin were the wrestlers. Plus Butch Reed, Eddie Gilbert and The Road Warriors. This is going to be a great promotion.

Too bad there is no storylines because Animal eliminating Hawk would be awesome for a betrayal angle.
The TNM Members ChampPosted on 11/14/08 at 07:11:23

It makes a lot of sense that the NWA would give Butch Reed the Heavyweight Title over Ric Flair only for him to bolt the next day.  ::)

Got to love how Magnum T.A. loses the US Title and he just forgets about it the next week.

Buzz Sawyer quit because he was like, "Wait... there's no storylines?  The hell?"

I think Jim Herd is in charge of this because why else would Flair be losing every match in his prime?
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/14/08 at 23:05:59

I thought it was interesting that Flair submitted to a sleeperhold.  I wasn't aware that anyone ever tapped out to one, I thought they just went unconscious.

Rick GarrardPosted on 11/15/08 at 02:33:38

Rip Rogers as the World Champion?  What the hell is this?  Puerto Rico?  I mean c'mon let's be at least a little realistic when doing a retro NWA.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/15/08 at 03:04:51

Actually I kind of like this.  It's like that episode of Star Trek when Kirk gets sucked into the mirror universe where the Enterprise crew is evil and Spock is conspiring to take the Captain's chair.

Ric Flair is a jobber and Rip Rogers is World champ... it's the NWA of the mirror dimension.
Rick GarrardPosted on 11/15/08 at 05:20:35

so where does that leave LazorTron?  As the GobbledyGooker?  ;)

LoL @ releasing Dusty Rhodes for no showing. You could've made an angle out of it, like he was attacked backstage.

NEVER QUESTION THE BOOKING OF SUPERSTARJIMIC!
The TNM Members ChampPosted on 11/17/08 at 22:05:40

The booking is similar to a dictator having control of a wrestling promotion. You don't dare question his booking prowess.

Also, I thought Magnum T.A. was out for eight weeks, and suddenly he's in elimination tag team action. If only that damned Dusty had shown, he deserves to be fired.

The more I think about it, the more brilliant I think this is. The results are THAT ludicrous that it's a sort of modern day Importance of Being Ernest. If looked at from that angle, Jimi C may inadvertently be the greatest genius of literature of our time.
