Despite Crybaby George Cannon's outside interference, Sgt. We now take you to these pre-recorded comments:

Universal Champion John Kronus (without the title belt):  "Bret Hart, you think it's funny that I am the champ, but you hold the belt in your possession?  You think it's funny that you had your thugs throw me out into the parking lot after my match last week?  You think it's funny that you have run Vince McMahon out of Calgary?  You think it's funny that you have instituted a so called 'Open Door Policy' here in Calgary that pretty much means my title could be stolen by just about anyone?  Well... I sure don't think it's too funny at all.  And Bret... I'm gonna take my belt back from you!"

Bret Hart (wearing the Universal Title around his waist):  "John Kronus, you are just the champion in name only.  And it's just a matter of time before I officially own this piece of gold again.  But in the mean time, I am going to be keeping it right here (points to belt around his waist) for safe keeping.  And as for this open door policy here in Calgary, I will be the first to accept the challenge here tonight!"

Tim Horner:  "Lance Storm, you and I have had two great matches.  I am challenging you again for yet another match next week.  And based on what I have learned in the ring with you so far, I am sure that we will have one great match."

Rating: ** 1/2
(John Kronus retained the Universal Title.)

Kronus was able to avoid the Walls of Jericho in this one, and then landed the 450 Splash to retain the title in name, as the belt itself is currently in the possession of Bret Hart.

Open Door Match:
Bret Hart vs TBA

Bret Hart has locked in a fujiwara armbar.
Mando Guerrero is writhing in pain.
Mando Guerrero submits after 8 seconds.
The crowd is behind Bret Hart all the way.

[Open Door Policy Match]:
Bret Hart made Mando Guerrero submit to a Fujiwara armbar in 0:05:05.
Rating: ** 3/4

Mando Guerrero uses the Open Door Policy of Calgary to make the trip all the way from El Paso, Texas for tonight's card.  Bret Hart was in full possession of the Universal Title and wore it during the entire match so that there was no way that Kronus could make an attempt to get it back.  After the match, Kronus came down to the ring, but refused to get in the ring with Bret Hart as he was pointing to his head saying that he didn't need to fight since he was already the champion.

Card rating: ** 3/4

You have a great circuit here Rick. I have read all 6 cards and think that the simplicity is brilliant. I am very into the fed and hope to see a long list of short cards to read. Comments:

That Dungeon Title just keeps getting thrown around. And although I dont know much about Tony Anthony, I would have like to see Neidhart retain this week. I hope we get to see another Title match next week.

Good to see Storm win, as I am a big fan of his. And next week should be good to see who wins the best of three tournament so-to-speak.

It was great to see Sgt. Slaughter! And him and Benoit winning the belt is much to my delight. Cant wait to see who they'll face next week.

Everyone's gotta love the 4 star matchup featuring Owen Hart winning with a sharpshooter. I know I do anyway.

Good fued between Bret and Kronus. Nice pre-recorded segments.  And good to see Kronus retain to keep the fued going and always like seeing Bret Hart win.  Interested to see what happens next week.

Overall, great circuit and great card this week.  I am looking forward to the next card.

As you've probably noticed by now, I am a HUGE fan of simplicity when it comes to circuits.

The one good thing about the Dungeon Title is that it will be defended on EVERY card no matter what. Tony Anthony worked for the then WWF as TL Hopper, but had a very successful Tennessee/Alabama run as The Dirty White Boy along with his valet, the Dirty White Girl. Note that his hometown is the very same of one WCW's Bunkhouse Buck, in that they both hailed from the fictional town of Bucksnort, Tennessee.

Good to see Storm win, as I am a big fan of his. And next week should be good to see who wins the best of three tournament so-to-speak.
Best of three? ;) It could be even more than that, as I am really liking this pairing.

It was great to see Sgt. Slaughter! And him and Benoit winning the belt is much to my delight. Cant wait to see who they'll face next week.
The Mongols do get the mandatory title rematch first, so they get the shot.

Everyone's gotta love the 4 star matchup featuring Owen Hart winning with a sharpshooter. I know I do anyway.
It just makes me happy that I have had one 5 star match and a few other 4+ star match-ups in this circuit just in the first 6 weeks so far. And that Owen is the workhorse of the circuit just goes to show that TNM favors good workers.

Good fued between Bret and Kronus. Nice pre-recorded segments. And good to see Kronus retain to keep the fued going and always like seeing Bret Hart win. Interested to see what happens next week.
Please note that Kronus was just a pawn in the evil game played by Vince McMahon while he was in Calgary. And somehow Kronus keeps managing to hang on to the Universal Title even if it is in name only, since as Bobby Heenan used to say "possession is 9/10ths of the law" and Bret does possess the title right now. And Kronus vs Bret is also far from done as well.

As for the pre-recorded segments, I think these are much needed to better explain the very simplistic storylines that are being played out here.

Overall, great circuit and great card this week. I am looking forward to the next card.
Next card is the three rematches (Dungeon Title, Tag Titles and Horner vs Storm), Owen vs Kronus, Bret vs Apolo Dantes, and Jericho vs Mando Guerrero.

Thanks for the comments. And this circuit is actually a lot of fun to write. Look for more usage of the "side doors of the arena". It's gonna be like the Sabu-ECW lights off, lights on gimmick I feel.
Psymin1Posted on 08/08/05 at 02:32:09

What the hell, let predict!

DWB...I mean, Tony Anthony, is going to retain

Benoit and Slaughter are definitely retaining

Horner's getting beat by Lance Storm

As for Owen vs Kronus, if its a non-title match, then Owen is going to win, but if it is a title match, then Kronus is going to win.  I'd be willing to guess that its a title match though, so I'll say Kronus.

Bret Hart should pull off another victory

and...

Jericho is going to get the win over Geurrero

Bucksnort, Tennessee is not fictional at all. It's a real town, perhaps most famous for its annual barbecue contest.
Psymin1Posted on 09/04/08 at 20:58:28

Wow, you have made me very, very happy.  Because of you, I was able to find all of WatA in its wonderful glory!

I stand corrected... from wikipedia:

Bucksnort is a small unincorproated community in Hickman County, Tennessee, United States. It occupies Exit 152 on Interstate 40 a few miles east of the Tennessee River. There is no U.S. Census data for the location and there is no post office.

Wrestlers Bunkhouse Buck and "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony (aka T.L. Hopper) call Bucksnort home, and professional wrestler "Dirty" Dutch Mantel often was billed as being from the town.

side note:  I always thought that Dutch was from "Oil Trough, Texas"?

I remember Dutch as being from Oil Trough too. Can't say I've heard him announced as being from anywhere else.
