You lot are no fun...

Chris Jericho vs Mando Guerrero

Chris Jericho was in action today to open up the show like he did last night,
once again against a member of the Guerrero clan, this time Mando. This match
came off from last night when Mando lurked around ringside intefering on Hectors
behalf before Jericho was victorious. Tonight Mando stole the advantage right
from the get go, jumping Jericho from behind before the bell sounded, putting
him in control. Mando looked good for those early stages but Jericho was soon
coming back into things and began putting Mando in trouble. Finally Jericho had
the match sown up after the Asai Moonsault and was in the process of putting on
the Lion Tamer when Eddie Guerrero ran in and jumped him from behind, drawing
a DQ. Eddie was supposed to have faced Jericho last night but withdrew due to
injury, but he didn't appear to be showing any signs of injury as he and Mando
beat Jericho down before officials ushered them away. We understand after this
that Jericho and Eddie will indeed go at it next week to finish off what they
started several weeks ago before Last Man Standing.

Chris Jericho defeated Mando Guerrero by disqualification in 0:08:04.

Matt Hardy happy on a job well done...

Brian Pillman was in attendance today and came to see Matt Hardy. Pillman
seemed to be a little disappointed that O'Haire wasn't torn apart by The
Syndicate last night, but Hardy told him not to worry and that O'Haire had been
suitably tired out. Hardy meanwhile was over the moon at the damage done to
Jody Fleisch last night by Pillman, at which Pillman revealed that he'd tried
to use the glue gun to write 'Sean' into Jodys back. That is very, very wrong.
Even Hardy seemed a little set aback - even Heidenreich and Snitsky looked a
little uncomfortable at this and whispered something to one another, possibly
considering exterminating him with a fire/laser combo. In any case, Hardy
informed Pillman that O'Haire had taken it upon himself not to show up tonight
but to thank Pillman for his efforts, he'd not only find a nice little bonus
in next months pay packet (typical Hardy) but Matt himself would take on
Sean O'Haire next week to help weaken him further going into Wrestlefest.

Scott Putski vs Gene Snitsky

Gene Snitsky took on Scott Putski in a match where there was little doubt.
Still wanting to be flanked by his bodyguards at all times, Matt Hardy was at
ringside with Heidenreich, with this being an activity in ensuring his men
stay in good shape. Sure enough, after a brief onslaught, Snitsky finished with
the Baby Boomer, as if there was any doubt.

Gene Snitsky pinned Scott Putski with the Baby Boomer in 0:04:01.

Rhyno & Rey Mysterio vs Los Villanos

Rhyno and Rey Mysterio were paired up today as they took on Los Villanos.
Despite having never teamed up before, they made a nice little combination on
this occasion, even if the only thing they have in common is a dislike of Kurt
Angle. Speaking of which, Kurt Angle wasn't in attendance tonight, going as far
as to no show entirely, perhaps still humiliated at not living up to his
promises last night at Ground Zero. In any case, we understand he'll be here
next week to say a few things.

Meanwhile, Rhyno and Rey got to work and were very effective, not letting the
Villanos in with a shout. Finally Rey finished off one with the 619 while Rhyno
gored the skin out of the other as he tried to help out. An impressive outing
by these two and there's every chance we may be seeing them paired up again in
the near future.

Rhyno and Rey Mysterio defeated Los Villanos (Villano IV and Villano V) when
Mysterio pinned Villano IV with the 619 in 0:06:11.

Bobby Eaton vs Rene Dupree

Bobby Eaton was in action against co-holder of the Intercontinental tag team
titles, Rene Dupree today. Dupree said that in France, they like guys like
Eaton because they find his southern hick accent cute. Unfortunately being in
an arena of "southern hicks", this didn't go down too well. Nor did Duprees
effort to save things with the French Tickler dance help matters. Luckily Eaton
didn't dawdle in making his way out and the two had a neat little match in
which Eaton eventually came out on top in, slamming Dupree off the second rope
and finishing with the Alabama Jam.

Bobby Eaton pinned Rene Dupree with the Alabama Jam in 0:06:21.

The Kings Court: Guests Raven & World Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn

The next five weeks will now focus on the build to the biggest event of the DWF
calendar, Wrestlefest VIII. The main event has been confirmed as being Raven
challenging the reigning worlds champion, Jerry Lynn, who will not have any
more title defenses until Wrestlefest thus guarenteeing our main event.

The two of them were King Kanyons guest on the Kings Court tonight. Talking
about how the two of them were the two who ultimately lead the way for the
company with Lynn as the self processed cynosure of wrestling and Raven as the
heart and soul of the DWF, the two had had to work hard to ensure that the
likes of Kurt Angle, Alex Wright, Billy Kidman and especially Don Muraco were
not at the forefront come Wrestlefest and this match up was indeed what the
company required to cement its status as the pinnacle in professional wrestling
today.

When quizzed on the matter of who would win, Raven stated it didn't matter to
him one way or the other because it really didn't matter when all is said and
done. Lynn just smiled sickly and nodded when asked the same question. Suffice
to say both men are sitting on the fence in regards to what will happen, but
I'm sure that both men will give it their absolute all at the end of the day.
At the end of the segment both men looked into each others eyes and left
without the need to say a single word to each other. They may be close allies
but both are holding their cards close to their chest for this one.

4 Man Battle royal: Participants Doug Furnas, Phil LaFon, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson

After the breakdown in last nights tag team match between Furnas & LaFon and
the Rock'n'Roll Express, a four way battle royal was scheduled for tonight.
Right from the get go, both tag teams (or ex teams, as the case may be) had
their own individual staredowns before Furnas and LaFon began brawling, with
Morton and Gibson following suit. When both sets of teams wandered near each
other, things got mixed up a little and they alternated long enough for LaFon
to grab Gibson charging in and throw him out. LaFon duly went over and began
working on Doug Furnas who had taken advantage in his duel with Ricky Morton.
Morton saw the opening shortly enough and tipped LaFon out from behind. LaFon
was angry, but directed his anger at Doug Furnas, promising to get even. As
he was led away, Ricky Morton began working over Doug Furnas and looked good
for it only for Robert Gibson to run back in and clock Morton from behind with
a chair. Whatever it is that's led to the breakdown of this once great team,
any hope of them reconcilling now seems to be over. Furnas did the inevitable
and tossed Morton out for the win. Staring down then with Robert Gibson, the
two looked set to go at it before Furnas offered a handshake, which Gibson
duly accepted.

4-Man Battle Royal:
Doug Furnas won a 4-man Battle Royal:
x Lafon threw out R. Gibson in 0:02:33
x R. Morton threw out Lafon in 0:03:41
x Furnas threw out R. Morton in 0:04:53

Steve Corino (c) vs Kid Kash (television title match)

Steve Corino had another defense of his television title today against Kid
Kash. Kash looked good as you'd expect and had Corino rocking for a while, going
as far as to have Corino set up for the Money Maker. Corino was quick to
counter though, scooping him up and slingshotting him into the corner before
hitting the Old School Expulsion for another victory.

The night soon soured for Corino however when Billy Kidman made his way out.
Kidman shook Corinos hand and congratulated him not only for the victory but
for having proven himself as the greatest television champion in history.
Kidman though was not so confident about his own abilities. After failing to
secure victory in last nights tag title match, he felt that his time had past
and with that, declared he was quitting the DWF. Throwing the mic down, Kidman
then walked out, with Corino following protesting his decision.

Steve Corino pinned Kid Kash with the Old School Expulsion in 0:08:44.

Devon Storm vs Rockabilly

Devon Storm heads to Wrestlefest with the cruiserweight championship in mind
when he faces Jeff Hardy. Tonight he faced the incomparable Rockabilly. Billy
was less than impressed, saying he shouldn't have to face this freak, and
instead proposed a dance contest, which Hunter Hearst-Helmsley followed up by
saying that this would be declared a no contest since Devon doesn't have the
moves. Devon looked steamed but continued to the ring without saying a word.
Helmsley then laid into him with a verbal tirade saying Devon didn't have the
class nor the finesse to be able to cope with someone with the talent of
Rockabilly, citing Rockabillys victory over Brad Armstrong a while back (never
mind the fact he lost the rematch just last night).

Devon finally got sick of this and chased Helmsley around the ring as the match
begun. Rockabilly used this as an opening to take control with Helmsley being
a real nuisance on the outside. Devon quickly came back into it, only for
Helmsley to jump onto the apron. An errant flying knee by Rockabilly caught
Helmsley at this point and knocked him to the floor as Devon scooted out of the
way and quickly locked in the Thunderclap Brainbuster for the easy win. While
Jeff Hardy should prove a slightly harder challenge at Wrestlefest, if Devon
keeps this sort of form going into his title match, we're going to see a new
champion crowned.

Devon Storm pinned Rockabilly with the Thunderclap Brainbuster in 0:02:22.

A word of warning from Andrew Martin

We got another message from Andrew Martin today as he spoke about the perils
of gimmick matches and how people like Pitbull #2 like to abuse them by putting
their own, and more importantly, their opponents bodies in grave danger. He
said he intended to clamp down on this most dangerous of trends and stated that
just because the Pitbull came from a derelict backyard fed like ECW doesn't
mean he has to treat the DWF and its combatants with the same lack of respect
as he did his friends when he was gouging their faces in with a cheese grater
back in the day. He said the DWF stood for safety first to ensure the long
lasting health of everyone concerned.

The Young Lions vs The Miracle Violence Connection

The Miracle Violence Connection were in tag team action against the Young
Lions. Despite starting out strongly enough, using their power to overcome the
much smaller Lions, York and Matthews were on particularly hot form and after
the hot tag to Christian York, the two unleashed a series of dropkicks and
high flying moves that put the MVC on the defense and after several successful
double team moves which saw Gordy dropkicked from the ring, York was able to
finish off Williams with a moonsault.

An impressive showing, but they were soon distracted by the presence of Larry
Zbyszko, with Coach lurking behind. Larry had a mic and demanded to know what
he was paying the Lions for. After they said they would investigate some more
after they took another look at the Lord Lucan case, Zbyszko angrily told them
he'd see them next week and expected results.

The Young Lions (Christian York and Joey Matthews) defeated
The Miracle Violence Connection (Steve Williams and Terry Gordy) when York
pinned S. Williams with the Moonsault in 0:05:00.

Pretty Perfect's thoughts on facing The Syndicate at Wrestlefest

Pretty Perfect now know they'll be defending the tag team titles at Wrestlefest
against The Syndicate. In a backstage interview, they didn't seem overly
concerned about the thought of facing the former champions, indeed going as far
as to mock them for even thinking they could hang with perfection. They also
noted that in all their meetings, The Syndicate had never scored any sort of
victory over them and come Wrestlefest, things wouldn't be any different.

"The Rock" Brad Armstrong vs Ulf Herman

Alex Wright has been trying to avoid Brad Armstrong for some time but his days
looked like they might finally be numbered as "The Rock" has been named number
one contender to Wrights Intercontinental championship. Wright did manage to
wield enough stroke to put one last blockade in Armstrongs way however as it
was announced that in order for him to receive his title shot at Wrestlefest,
he would have to go through Ulf Herman tonight. Before the match however, Ulf
was given a huge berating by not only Alex Wright but Don Muraco as well,
telling Ulf that it was his fault that they lost the six man tag last night and
this was his final chance so he wasn't to blow it.

Brad was clearly outnumbered when he got to the ring as not only did he have to
face Ulf in the ring, but Wright, Muraco and Jeff Hardy were all at ringside
as well, as we learned Wright had managed to get Muraco to accompany him and
Herman to the ring for this one as a favour. Brad however started off the
strongest and after a series of Rock-style slaps in the corner, Ulf bailed to
an angry reception outside. Back in, it took a trip from Don Muraco to allow
Ulf to take control.

Take control he did as he overpowered 'The Rock' for a while, but Armstrong
came back hard and was soon in a commanding position. After hitting several
signature moves, the Rock Bottom followed and it looked like curtains for Ulf.
Jeff Hardy hopped onto the apron and got blasted for his troubles. Wright and
Muraco then jumped up too. Armstrong readied himself, but the pair simply
backed down again without even trying and sat back, letting the match continue.
Armstrong wrapped things up with the Peoples Elbow to score the victory and
move on to Wrestlefest to challenge Alex Wright for the Intercontinental
title.

Armstrong left, unchallenged, celebrating the victory. Herman meanwhile got up
dejectedly while the others got into the ring and surrounded the huge German.
Wright began berating him again and began poking him with the whip, all the
while Ulf looked to be getting madder and madder. Finally a furious Wright
slapped Herman, and Herman seemed to have finally lost it as he angrily began
walking towards Wright, shouting various threats. Sadly for him, he'd lost
focus of those around him, and was attacked from behind by Don Muraco who
clocked him with a clubbing lariat from behind. Muraco put the boots to him, as
did Jeff Hardy, while Wright began striking him with the whip several times
before leaving to a chorus of boos.

Brad Armstrong pinned Ulf Herman with the Peoples Elbow in 0:10:11.

Random Thoughts, Feedback, and Various Assorted Nonsense.

Disqualification win for Jericho after Eddie Guerrero runs in. Guerrero/Jericho will be awesome, but that's like saying the grass is green.

Matt Hardy/Sean O' Haire next week, good. Snitsky and Heidereich rule. That is all.

Snitsky runs over Scott Putski.

Yes, Rhino and Rey would be a fun little tag team, those speed/power pairs are always a guilty pleasure of mine.

Eaton wins! Yes! Great battle, Mocking southern hicks=the oldest, but greatest heel trick in the book.

Raven and Jerry Lynn is a great match. I'm pulling for Raven, but both men are as good as gold.

Nice four man battle royal and the inevitable Furnas/Gibson vs. LaFon/Morton match will be interesting when it happens.

Corino's great reign as Television Champion continues and Kidman quits? Okay, if this doesn't end with Kidman coming back and ending Corino's reign I'll be slightly annoyed.

Storm continues his roll. Right now, I'm seeing him beating Hardy.

You are a genius for making me actually give a damn about anything that Andrew Martin does.

Young Lions win, Larry wants answers, segment served its purpose.

Pretty Perfect/Syndicate will be another great match at Wrestlefest. I think Pretty Perfect's reign might be screeching to a halt.

The Rock wins. And gets attacked by Jeff Hardy and the other Rock, Don Muraco. The Rock is left laying, some bitches are going to get smacked down.

Excellent show.

I'm not sure if this is a compliment on my awesome comedic skills or an insult to my terrible booking abilities.

Oh those rascally Guerreros.  Jericho/Eddie should rule if given enough time.

Your Pillman rules.  A lot.  If he can ever get focused enough to go for titles instead of just hurting people, I don't see why he can't be a future World champion.  Also odd that Hardy is putting himself in a match, especially with someone like O'Haire.  Obviously there's a plan afoot.

The Baby Boomer!  Why aren't Snitsky/Heidenreich your World Tag Team champions?  Geez.

Rhyno/Mysterio team could be interesting, and gives them both something to do since they're doing whole lots of nothing right now.

Bobby Eaton sighting!  Bring in Regal so we can have The Blue Bloods vs. La Resistance!  That would be magical and you know it.

I still think you destroyed most of Muraco's heat by having Lynn beat him, but Lynn/Raven is going to be awesome.

The tag team partner switch you've done with R'n'R and Furnas/LaFon has been well done.  Both new teams are going to need names though to keep them from being bland, if you intend to have them team permanently.

Corino keeps winning.  Whoever beats him will get a big rub, though I think you're leading it to Corino/Kidman.

Devon Storm wins, which is expected as he needs to get his heat re-established a bit to look like a threat to Jeff Hardy.  I think Storm ends up winning that match, because Hardy being Cruiserweight champion doesn't really do much for him or the title.

How awesome is Test here?

The Young Lions Detective Agency is really shitty.  What IS Larry Z paying them for!?

Well they've officially turned on Ulf, which was a long time coming.  Ulf vs. Muraco at Wrestlefest?  Ulf just doesn't have the mystique that Muraco has.  And  always forgot that Wright is actually the IC champ.  The Rock should beat him.  Make it so!

Just make sure it involves the Midnight Express in some way. Otherwise Rick will spend months talking about how he didn't like it as it wasn't old school enough. :)

See, you know I'll have Snitsky and Heidenreich breathing fire and shooting lasers at him now you've said that...
