Alright, guess i'll take that as "it sucks" and ill go back to the drawing board.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/04/08 at 06:43:55

If you are only posting here to get replies, you've come to the wrong place.  I've got a LOT of cards posted that had either very few or 0 replies.  Just becuase no one replies, does not mean they are not reading your work.  It usually takes a few cards before folks comment just so they can get a feel for your booking style.

It's fine.

Couple of observations...

Which "drastic changes in professional wrestling" are you speaking of? Judging by the roster and the fact that a circuit's first show is televised, it seems like a lot took place. Now very few feds here bother with backstories, but I found it odd that you eluded to one without providing it.

An 11 second first match? I'm guessing you're running unbooked, and that's fine. But you might want to hit the 'e' button to extend the match a little bit.  Plus Matt James just promised to introduce his roster to us... Who was that Nigel guy? Is he some sort of unstoppable badass? It seemed like he was on screen for about 15 seconds, then it cut to the back for 3 minute segment, then back to commercial. WTF?

Petey & Shelton.. Good stuff. What was the DQ for?

To tell the truth, I'm not a big fan of the "Thunder & Lightning" name. The hunting gimmick seems like it could lend itself to a better name. But I guess it may be moot as there is dissent already....

I dig the Striker/Burke/Morgan pairing. Could work out good. Striker is an awesome manager.

Miz over Danielson? Oy.. I'll let that slide..

Cryme Tyme shenanigans.. I like it. I'm guessing they are faces in the organization, since the Agency must be heels.

Giving Cody a strong push off the bat against more established stars.. I'll be interesting if that comes back and bites him.

Tito Ortiz is an interesting big star choice. It's definately unique. Since we only saw two matches of the championship tournament, I'm guessing you've got a few more stars tucked away in your sleeves.

Overall, it's a fine start. The commercial breaks are a little annoying because you've got them spaced out way too evenly. It's okay to have two matches between commercials.

Also just to echo a bit of what Rick said... Remember that you are your main audience for your fed. If you're dependent on feedback to decide what to do next, then your circuit is doomed to failure. I gave your card some pretty thorough because I was kinda bored and just in the mood to do so. So don't always expect it.

Thanks for the feedback.  Appreciate it and will put it to use.

I'll come back to this.

The shows, as Unright said, were fine. It always takes a while for anyone to get into a rhythm but you've made the effort to at least present the gist of almost everybodies character at some point and made it clear what their allignment is, whilst also putting over who the big players are, and you've actually done this pretty well, and that's all you can ask for this early on.

Also, the fact you took note of what Unright said about the DQ finish on the first show and then explained the finish to the Cryme Tyme match in the second showed you were paying attention. And Tito Ortiz does indeed make a unique main attraction for a TNM fed, that leaves a lot of potential. So yes, is all fine so far.

Going back to your original comment though, as Rick has touched on, feedback is always nice but not something you're going to get inundated with on each show and not something that most people here are overly bothered about. But taking that further, in the 25 hours between you posting and you determining that because nobody replied in that time that everyone must have thought the show sucked - how many cards did you reply to? Being that the answer is "none" does that mean you think everyone elses cards suck? Probably not, but I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from.

Exactly, 91.  Take for example my PWW circuit I am currently "reposting" from 1998 when I first ran it.  Comments on any cards = 0.  Is that going to stop me from posting the rest?  No... mainly because I am working on making a "definitive collection" of every card I've done and posted from TNM.  Do I post comments on other's circuits?  Very rarely.  It's gotta be something that either totally blows me away as far as matches and/or gimmicks go, or its more likely a circuit that is using one my many rules sets.  (Now I'm starting to feel like Jonh C. Dvorak... http://www.dvorak.org/blog for those of you podcast listeners that get the joke)  :)

Your second show really helped turn this fed around, I think. It was well done. I am still trying to get use to Tito Ortiz being involved in a wrestling circuit, but it's working out okay so far.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing what else you have planned.
