Pre-Game Show Match
Cryme Tyme vs. Kid Kash/Lance Hoyt
The Rogers Centre in Toronto was rocking and ready to go for the pay-per-view, but before we got to the biggest night in GCW history, we had a match for the pre-game show featuring the newest team in GCW, Cryme Tyme, taking on Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt. Shad Gaspard & JTG have already started to become fan favorites with their antics, but many in the locker room haven't been quite as welcoming. One man in particular has been Kid Kash, who has been causing a lot of stir behind the scenes about his dislike of this new duo. He had a chance to do something about it in the ring tonight, but it didn't start out well for him as Cryme Tyme got on the mic and made fun of Kash, alluding to him being a shrimp (Shark Boy must have been tingling somewhere backstage). This set Kash off who is known to be prone to fits of snapping and led to JTG suffering a bit of a beating. However, with Kash so enraged, any teamwork between he and Hoyt flew out the window, leading to Cryme Tyme hitting the G 9 on Kash and putting this one in the books.

Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard and JTG) defeated Kid Kash and Lance Hoyt when JTG pinned Kash after the G 9 in 0:07:03.
Rating: **

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the biggest night in Global Championship Wrestling history! Welcome to the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! And welcome to SUPER CADE III! The very complexion of the wrestling world could very well change with what we have lined up tonight! From top to bottom, every match could change GCW forever! All four titles are on the line, and some blood feuds will be settled, all topped off by the biggest match in GCW history - Brock Lesnar defends the World Heavyweight Title in an Iron Man Match against Kurt Angle! Let's get to the action!

Match #1
X Title Match
Gregory Helms © vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.
We opened the show right away with our first of four title matches with the egomaniac Gregory Helms putting the title up for grabs against Rey Mysterio Jr. Before the match started, highlights were shown of Mysterio's victory over Helms in a non-title match on the June 5th episode of Explosion. Mysterio was hoping lightning could strike twice to add the X Title to his resume'. These two employ very different strategies in the ring, so it was important for both to establish their dominance early. Mysterio took early control by keeping the pace quick. Helms would get control himself though when he reversed a Mysterio springboard attempt into a gut buster. Helms saw Mysterio is wounded and worked over his ribs trying to cut off the wind supply. Helms was relentless, trying to crack Mysterio's ribs if he could. Mysterio got the return of momentum when Helms tried to finish his opponent off with a flying splash that Mysterio avoided. Mysterio had the ball in his court now and kept stringing move after move and had this match seemingly locked up when he hit the 6-1-9. The crowd was on its feet as Mysterio was primed for the West Coast Pop. Mysterio flew through the air, but Helms had the presence of mind to reverse it and power bomb Mysterio hard into the turnbuckle. Mysterio's head snapped on the buckle and after that was hit with the Shining Wizard. Gregory Helms is still the X champion.

Gregory Helms pinned Rey Mysterio Jr. with the Shining Wizard in 0:11:16.
Rating: *** ¾
(Gregory Helms retained the GCW X Title.)

Referee Chad Patton handed Helms the X Title who cradled it like a baby as he rolled out of the ring. Helms knew he was in a battle, but he managed to best Mysterio and keep the X Title.

EDGE & CHRISTIAN TRY THEIR BEST TO HIP RHYNO UP
Backstage, we saw a shot of Rhyno in the back, and he looked... well, different. His hair was slicked back, he was wearing a button-up shirt... he was all cleaned up and it was a bit unsettling. The camera panned out a bit and we saw a smiling Edge & Christian admiring their work. Christian told him that they loved his intensity, but he needed to look a little bit cooler. Edge echoed these sentiments, and said that just one thing was missing. The camera followed Edge & Christian as they walked out of the room and were handed a pair of sunglasses from the Brothel. When they returned to the room, Rhyno was a complete mess. His hair was messed up, the shirt he was wearing was missing, and his face was covered in barbeque sauce from the plate of ribs he was eating. Rhyno looked up and caught the eyes of E & C who looked at him dumbfounded. After a long moment of silence, Christian broke it by saying, "Where the hell did you get those ribs!?"

Match #2
Tommy Dreamer (w/ Lance Cade) vs. Booker T (w/ Elix Skipper & Sharmell)
Booker T has been blaming Tommy Dreamer for months that he cost him the World Heavyweight Title and has been making his life a living hell since, even costing him the job of commissioner of GCW. Dreamer was reinstated as an active wrestler though and had his chance to end this once and for all. Booker had Elix Skipper & Sharmell with him, so Dreamer brought some backup of his own in the form of Lance Cade. Cade neutralized Booker's duo and what this led to was Dreamer dishing out a lot of punishment. Booker got some shots in himself, but for the most part, Dreamer's intensity was putting him on the path to victory. The tide turned though when Elix Skipper tried to get involved but was stopped by Cade who floored him with a lariat on the floor. Cade stood over Prime Time and talked a little smack which kept him blind to KENNY DYKSTRA running out of the crowd and slamming Cade's head hard into the ringpost, knocking him out cold! Referee Charles Robinson jumped out to the floor and told Dykstra to get out of there. Dreamer turned his attention to Dykstra from inside the ring and yelled at him, but he didn't see another man jump over the railing and into the ring. This man got a running start and jumped at Dreamer, driving both his knees into Dreamer's back and driving him into the turnbuckle hard. This man was identified by Paul Heyman as ELIJAH BURKE and Burke slid out of the ring in a hurry and joined Dykstra on the floor. Booker followed by hitting the Book End on Dreamer and Robinson made the count.

Booker T pinned Tommy Dreamer after the Book End in 0:06:56.
Rating: *** 1/4

Dykstra & Burke walked back up the aisleway laughing and talking down Dreamer & Cade the entire time. We don't have to like how it happened, but Booker T was leaving Toronto a winner.

KENNY DYKSTRA INTRODUCES THE WORLD TO ELIJAH BURKE
Kenny Dykstra & Elijah Burke were stopped backstage by new backstage interview Todd Grisham, who asked Dykstra who this man was. Dykstra introduced us all officially to Burke, saying that just like him, he is a phenom. "You wanted me to have a tag team partner so badly, Dreamer? Well guess what? I found my own!" Dykstra told everyone to take a good look at The Phenoms and that Dreamer is going to pay for the way he treated him as commissioner. There was then a lot of screaming heard as DREAMER & LANCE CADE were backstage and all over the Phenoms! The GCW Official Brigade was quickly there to get between these two teams.

Match #3
Money In The Bank
Participants: Monty Brown, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Paul Burchill, Umaga
We weren't exactly sure what to expect from this match that Randy Orton came up with and proposed, but when it was over, we were not disappointed! The concept was simple - six men tornado style, a briefcase hanging above the ring, several ladders around the ring, the first man to get a ladder and retrieve the briefcase wins. We didn't realize just how far these six men were willing to go until they actually got in there. Early in the match, it was no surprise that Umaga was the dominating force as he has been since he came to GCW. All five other competitors did their best to slow down the Samoan Bulldozer, but they couldn't. They eventually were able to when all five had grabbed a ladder from the floor and had Umaga surrounded in the middle of the ring. They all looked at each other and then all five smacked Umaga with the ladders! All five then picked up Umaga and tossed him out of the ring.

With Umaga out of the way (for the moment anyway), the pace of the match sped up and the risks came cheap. To even try to call this match spot by spot would be impossible as there was a lot of action. The man who seemed most comfortable in this match with the risks was AJ Styles, as this is more conducive to his style than anyone else involved. He used the ladders effectively as a weapon including busting Chris Benoit open when he executed a moonsault with a ladder. Other big spots involved Monty Brown hitting the Pounce on Burchill into a ladder which caused it to bend in half, Umaga then hitting Brown with a Samoan drop onto a ladder, and Benoit later hitting Randy Orton with a swandive headbutt from near the top of a ladder.

But the big winner of this match would be the Legend Killer. Late in the match, it looked like Paul Burchill was going to steal this victory after he hit Styles with the C4 after Styles had set up a ladder. Burchill began to climb, but he was pulled off by Umaga who then floored him with the Samoan Spike. Umaga was confused as to what to do next as Armando Alejandro Estrada desperately tried to direct him to climb the ladder. Styles ran back in to stop him but was quickly dropped with a back kick. Monty Brown was back in as well and went for a Pounce, but Umaga caught him with a Samoan drop. Benoit made the next attempt to slow the Samoan Bulldozer down with a steel chair, but he made the mistake of hitting him in the skull which hardly phased the monster. Benoit looked with disbelief before Umaga kicked the chair back in his face. Umaga finally started to climb the ladder, but he was slow going which allowed Orton to get back in the ring, grab the chair, and smack Umaga in the back with it. Umaga stayed up on the ladder but not for long as Orton climbed up the other side, grabbed Umaga, and drilled him with the RKO! With everyone out, Orton climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase.

Money in the Bank:
Randy Orton defeated Paul Burchill, Umaga, AJ Styles, Chris Benoit and Monty Brown in 0:18:14.
Rating: **** 1/4

It wasn't easy and he'll definitely be feeling it tomorrow, but Randy Orton has won Money in the Bank. Orton now can challenge the World Heavyweight champion at any time he wants any time between now and Super Cade IV.

Match #4
Matt Hardy/Rob Van Dam/Abyss (w/ Maria) vs. Must See TV (w/ Lita/Mickie James/Gail Kim)
The saga between Matt Hardy and Edge has been going on for over a year at this point, and this six-man tag match would be a huge chapter. Edge has his brother Christian and their long time friend Rhyno to support him, as well as his brothel. Hardy has enlisted the help of Rob Van Dam and Abyss in his quest for redemption. Say what you want about Must See TV but they are a close-knit team and they always know what the other is thinking, which makes them a very dangerous team. They're also very smart and early in the match they all three attacked RVD, causing him to have to be taken to the back by officials and making this 3-on-2. The odds were not in the favor of Hardy & Abyss, but they certainly were not going to let this one go without a fight. Despite their efforts, it looked like this match was going to go to MSTV, but Van Dam proved how tough he was by limping back to the ring when all looked lost. RVD not only came back, but he provided a Super Cade moment when despite his wounded knee was able to hit Rhyno with the Van Terminator to wipe him out of the match. RVD too couldn't do much else, but this changed the momentum and in the end, Hardy hit Edge with the Twist of Fate and this one was over!

Abyss, Matt Hardy and Rob Van Dam defeated Must See TV (Christian, Edge and Rhyno) when M. Hardy pinned Edge with the Twist of Fate in 0:11:46.
Rating: *** ¾

This was not Must See TV's night as Matt Hardy pinned Edge right in the middle of the ring. Hardy and Maria embraced in the ring as they celebrated along with Van Dam & Abyss. One has to think that even though they were defeated tonight that Must See TV is not going to let this one go that easily.

TODD GRISHAM SPEAKS WITH KURT ANGLE
Todd Grisham was standing by with Kurt Angle and asked him about the main event, the first Iron Man Match in GCW history for the World Heavyweight Title against Brock Lesnar. Angle said he has never trained harder for a match in all his life and that he would beat the man who beat him for the title at Super Cade II. The matters shifted to why Angle saved Lesnar from a beatdown last Monday on Explosion when it could have majorly benefited him. Angle said that despite everything, Lesnar and he are friends and more importantly, he is a competitor. He wants Lesnar at 100% to know that he can beat the best. Angle ended by wishing Lesnar luck, but reminding him that as soon as that bell rang, friendships were out the window.

Match #5
Intercontinental Title Match
John Bradshaw Layfield © (w/ Lamont) vs. Bobby Lashley
JBL had Bobby Lashley under his payroll for the past year, but he made a huge tactical mistake when he started blaming Lashley for losses. Lashley has proven to be unstoppable in GCW as he has yet to be pinned or made to submit, so why you wouldn't want this guy to be on your side is beyond me. In the early stages of this championship match, it was obvious that JBL wanted nothing to do with Lashley as he cowered as much as he possibly could. Lashley was bouncing JBL around the ring which prompted Lamont to jump in the ring and push Lashley from behind. Lashley obviously wasn't even phased as he turned around and chased Lamont. He chased him out of the ring and around the floor. Lamont slid back into the ring and Lashley followed... right into a big boot from JBL. JBL smelled blood in the water and tore into Lashley, but nothing he could do was enough to put Lashley down for the three. JBL's frustrations mounted to the point where he ripped off one of the turnbuckle pads to throw Lashley into it. He took too long getting the pad off though and when he finally tried to whip Lashley into it, Lashley reversed it and JBL's smacked the buckle hard. Lashley followed up with a huge spear and moments later, the Dominator to get the victory and become the new Intercontinental champion!

Bobby Lashley pinned John Bradshaw Layfield with the Dominator in 0:09:51.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Bobby Lashley won the GCW Intercontinental Title.)

Referee Chad Patton handed the Intercontinental Title over to Bobby Lashley as the sold out Rogers Centre roared with approval. Congratulations to the new IC champion!

Match #6
Hell in a Cell
Christopher Daniels vs. CM Punk (w/ Daffney)
The feud between Christopher Daniels & CM Punk goes back well over a year, and things would finally be settled once and for all as they met in a match that is the ultimate feud closer - the Hell in a Cell. Punk said numerous times leading up to this event that he had wished it wouldn't come to this as he has changed his ways, but if fighting the Fallen Angel in the Cell is the only way to hammer this point home to Daniels, he would do so. With all of the bad things that Punk has done to Daniels since Punk came to GCW as the Mysterio "He," it's no surprise that Daniels would be wary of him.

The match itself was exactly what you would expect from these two - a classic. Neither man utilized the Cell early on and were feeling each other out on the mat. When the match spilled out to the floor though, it would be Daniels who first used the cage when he reversed a charging Punk and Hotshot him face first into the wall. A small cut was opened up on Punk's head and the Fallen Angel went straight at it, trying to tear it open more by rubbing Punk's face against the cage. Punk had a full mask of blood now, but he was far from done as he reversed an Irish whip and sent Daniels into the steps. Punk noticed the blood on his face and this sent him into an entirely different place, turning up the intensity tenfold. If Punk was a changed man, you couldn't tell from his intensity because he brought it just as hard as Daniels was. From about the 5 minute mark on, I don't think a single person in the Rogers Centre put their ass on a seat. Daniels & Punk tore into each other like you'd expect from a blood feud such as this. Both men ended up bleeding and bleeding a lot before this was all said and done. Punk thought he had this won when he caught the G.T.S., but he was too exhausted to make the cover. When he finally did, Daniels got his shoulder up. Punk was exasperated as he was certain that would do it, but the Fallen Angel refused to stay down. Punk went out under the ring and pulled out a steel chair, and despite Daffney's pleads against it, Punk brought the chair in with bad intentions. Punk waited for Daniels to crawl to his feet, but Daniels was playing some possum as he dropkicked the chair right back into Punk's face! Daniels got his second wind and looked insane with blood dripping down his face. Daniels set he chair on the mat, grabbed Punk, and drilled him with the Angel's Wings onto the steel, bringing an end to one of the most brutal matches in GCW history.

Hell in a Cell Match:
Christopher Daniels pinned CM Punk with the Angel's Wings in 0:16:04.
Rating: **** ¾

The crowd gave both men a well deserved standing ovation, but Daniels didn't seem content with just winning as he picked the chair up and hovered over Punk. Daniels positioned himself as if he was going to wallop Punk with it. Punk got back up to his knees and saw Daniels with the chair, stared at him for a moment, and yelled, "DO IT! GO AHEAD!" Daniels teased plastering Punk, but dropped the chair, dropped to his knees, and hugged CM Punk. The roar of the crowd got even louder as it looks like Christopher Daniels is finally ready to let his issues with Punk go. What a great Super Cade moment.

BROCK LESNAR COMMENTS ON THE IRON MAN MATCH
We cut back to Maria who is with the World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar to get comments regarding our main event. Lesnar was as intense as ever and kept it short and simple mentioning that he has held the World Title for over a year now and he has no intentions of losing it now. He went on to say that he excels in big match environments, and there is no bigger match than tonight's main event with Kurt Angle. He concluded by telling Angle that he won't be holding back at all in the main event, and that he fully expects the landscape of GCW to change forever.

Match #7
World Tag Team Title Match
MNM © (w/ Melina) vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team
Johnny Nitro & Shannon Moore might be the two cockiest guys to ever hold tag team gold in wrestling history, but they had a huge mountain to climb as they had to defend the titles against not only perhaps the greatest team of the last decade in Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin, but the team they stole the titles from back at Deadly Draw. As he has been since they lost the titles, Charlie Haas was completely amped up. Benjamin started the match for the WGTT, but it wasn't long before Haas tagged himself in during a moment of overzealousness. Benjamin had a look of shock on his face as he slowly left the ring. Haas did well for himself, but he was too energetic and MNM used that against him, and it wasn't long before Haas' mistakes led to him being drilled with the Snapshot and down for the 1-2-3.

MNM (Shannon Moore and Johnny Nitro) defeated The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) when S. Moore pinned C. Haas after the Snapshot in 0:05:15.
Rating: ** ½
(MNM retained the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

Almost unceremoniously, MNM had retained the World Tag Team Titles. Shelton Benjamin came in the ring and started berating Haas about the loss, saying he should have tagged out and let Benjamin help win the match. Haas apologized and the two seemed to have reconciled when they shook hands, but it didn't last long as Benjamin blasted Haas with a kick to the groin! The crowd booed tremendously as Benjamin kicked Haas hard in the face repeatedly. Benjamin rolled to the floor and grabbed a steel chair and smashed Haas in the face with it, knocking him out cold. Benjamin wasn't done yet as he brought the chair crashing down repeatedly on Haas' ankle. Benjamin had sicker plans though as he wrapped the chair around Haas' ankle, climbed to the top, and "Pillmanized" it, not once, but twice! Haas' ankle has to be shattered after this vicious attack and Benjamin left showing no remorse for what he did to his former partner and friend. One of the most sickening things I have ever seen.

SHELTON BENJAMIN HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO
Todd Grisham ran and caught up to Shelton Benjamin as he came through the back, and he looked to be in no mood to talk. Grisham asked him why he brutally attacked his former partner Charlie Haas like that. Benjamin didn't have much to say, only saying that he carried the team for over 2 years and the reason the team was so successful was because of him and him alone. When Grisham asked about the possibly that Benjamin just ended Haas' career, all Benjamin said was, "Good," before he walked away.

Match #8
MAIN EVENT
World Heavyweight Title Iron Man Match
Brock Lesnar © vs. Kurt Angle
This is what everyone was waiting for. The two biggest stars in the wrestling world today going at it one-on-one for 60 minutes. The Iron Man Match - Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle. When Lesnar & Angle both got into the ring, we knew we were about to see something epic. Two men at their peak physical condition giving it their all for the most important prize in the game. Both men knew that if they were going to still have any gas left in the tank when the hour was up, so they had to pace themselves with mat wrestling. The match had a long feeling out process which was to be expected, but both men kept it exciting with the chain wrestling they were able to perform. Lesnar's strategy was to work on Angle's back and ribs. He felt that he'd have an advantage later in the match if he could make it difficult for the former champion to breathe. Angle's angle was to go after Lesnar's arm, figuring that if he took out his arm it would be astronomically more difficult to hit the F-5. This proved to be great strategy as Lesnar tried to hit the F-5 a few times but couldn't manage to do it. Angle dodged an F-5 attempt and flipped around Lesnar, hitting the first two of three rolling German suplexes, but on the third, Lesnar reversed out of nowhere and mustered up the strength to hit the F-5 and get a pin at the 28 minute mark, putting the champion up 1-0!

Lesnar had a huge edge in this match now as he could wrestle on the defense. Angle had to beat him now - he didn't have to beat Angle. Angle recovered and was able to wrestle effectively, but when we got around the 40 minute mark in this great match and Angle had yet to score a fall, he got a little desperate and started getting reckless. Angle gained the upperhand when he planted Lesnar with a piledriver, but when he couldn't get the pinfall, he climbed up to the top rope. The crowd was to its feet as Angle jumped off with a picture perfect moonsault... that unfortunately missed the mark. It looked bad for Angle as all the air was driven out of his lungs and Lesnar was primed to hit another F-5. Lesnar was too complacent though as he took too much time when he had Angle on his shoulders, letting Angle reverse into a crucifix and get a flash three, knotting the score at 1! The Monster From Minnesota couldn't believe it and his position of dominance was gone. It was then Lesnar who started making the aggressive moves, laying quite a beating into Angle. Lesnar was like a freight train and Angle was stuck on the tracks. But no matter what Lesnar did, Angle wasn't staying down. Lesnar even went as far as to lock on the Ankle Lock, Angle's own finishing move, but even that was enough as Angle got to the ropes. Lesnar would drill Angle with a power bomb and climb to the top rope himself, a place he very rarely visits. Lesnar positioned himself as the flashbulbs went off, jumped out, and hit a perfect shooting star press... onto the canvas. The crowd chanted, "HOLY SHIT!" as both Lesnar and Angle were wiped out. Angle eventually got to his feet first and locked on the Ankle Lock. Angle torqued on Lesnar's ankle and was trying hard to get Lesnar to tap, but the champion refused. Lesnar eventually crawled his way back to his feet while Angle still had a hold of his leg. Lesnar propelled his body forward and sent Angle crashing face first into the turnbuckle, breaking the hold. Lesnar limped to his feet and Angle turned right into the F-5 and a fall for Lesnar!

The reigning champion had the lead with less than 5 minutes to go, and although both men were exhausted beyond belief, they mustered up the last bit of strength to go all out for the finish. Lesnar was trying to just make it through the time while Angle did everything he could think of to pull out a fall to tie it. The former Olympic champion pulled out every pinning combination he could think of, but Lesnar got his shoulder up time after time. When it was announced that there was one minute left, Lesnar regained the advantage when he leveled Angle with a clothesline. Lesnar probably should have just played defense for the next minute, but instead his competitive nature got the better of him as he lifted Angle up for one more F-5, but Angle reversed, slid down the champion's back and put on the Ankle Lock! The crowd exploded as Angle was screaming and twisting Lesnar's ankle to a sickening angle, demanding that Lesnar tap out. Lesnar refused though, even almost making it to the ropes until Angle sat down and grapevined Lesnar's leg. There was no way that Lesnar was going to escape - all he could do is hope to last. Lesnar had his hand up and looked like he was about to tap, but he fought the urge and held his hand up as the bell rang!

Iron Man Match:
Brock Lesnar beat Kurt Angle 2 falls to 1:
x Lesnar beat K. Angle via the F-5 in 0:28:00
x K. Angle beat Lesnar via a crucifix in 0:42:16
x Lesnar beat K. Angle via the F-5 in 0:55:12
x time limit expired (K. Angle and Lesnar) in 1:00:00
Rating: **** 1/4
(Brock Lesnar retained the GCW World Heavyweight Title.)

Angle let go and assumed he had tied it up, but was shocked to find out that Lesnar didn't tap and was still the champion. Both Lesnar & Angle were completely exhausted as they expended everything they had. Both were given a standing ovation that brought them both to their feet. Referee Nick Patrick handed Lesnar the World Heavyweight Title, which Angle snatched away from him. The crowd booed a little bit, but those boos turned to thunderous applause when Angle handed the title to Lesnar, raised his hand in victory, and the two embraced in a show of friendship and respect. What a match and what a pay-per-view! Super Cade III will go down as one of the greatest shows in GCW history, no doubt about it.
The TNM Members ChampPosted on 06/15/08 at 20:31:35

This was an epic card. Definitely came off like a supercard should as every match had a reason for being on the card and had a resolution.

The MNM/WGTT match reminded me of the Brain Busters/Strike Force match, with a twist of Shelton heeling up on Haas by breaking the ankle. Needless to say that tag team pairing is done. Should be the start of a big heel push for Shelton.

Nice effect after the CM Punk/Christopher Daniels by having Daniels hug CM Punk after their encounter in the Hell in a Cell instead of hitting him with the chair.

Nice comedy bit with Must See TV trying to make Rhyno cool. That was a funny visual with Rhyno being all slick and cool one moment and the next looking like a mess.

The main event was everything I would come to expect from two workers like Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. Brock's the man but now he has to worry about when Randy Orton will cash in the Money in the Bank.
