Interesting first card, I love older federations so I'll definitely be paying attention.  Good luck!
The TNM Members ChampPosted on 07/05/07 at 07:31:52

Wait a second, lazy_duck! I liked your concept using the WWF, NWA, and AWA. It felt like reading a PWI from the 1980s. I don't think you should've been so quick to end the results. I think you should definitely re-visit this concept sometime again when you get the interest to run an 80s promotion(s) again.
lazy_duckPosted on 07/05/07 at 18:02:09

Thanks Im not changing what I was doing just the way I was booking. I like what I was doing just not the way the booking was heading

Cool circuit. Are you running these all as 1 circuit under weight class wizard? How will you handle wrestlers quiting/not renewing?

On 07/06/07 at 22:21:17, blslivewire wrote:Cool circuit. Are you running these all as 1 circuit under weight class wizard? How will you handle wrestlers quiting/not renewing?
I'm running each circuit by themselves. but sharing the talent pool. Each promotion can hire up to 3 wrestlers at the end of the month unless someone quits before hand, then a promotion can hire someone to fill the spot but at the end of the month they only get two sinings.

When someome doesn't renew they go into a free agent list. If another promotions wants to sign someone off the list before 3 months have passed they are charged 2 picks since they broke the no compete clause and that extra pick goes to the promotion the person left.

Example, Lets say Steamboat leaves or does not sign with AWA. He goes on the list. Lets say the NWA and the WWF both want him and are both willing to give up the extra pick to AWA then the promotion with the least "exposure points" (Something I came up with) gets the 1st crack. Ricky may say no and sign with the other promotion or may not sign with anyone.

After 3 months anyone on the Free agent list is taken off and can be signed by any promotion the wrestler choose to sign with no penalty to the promotion.
Memphis_VicePosted on 07/07/07 at 04:52:17

Great system of handling free agency and no-compete. Great circuit! Lousy that Andre & Lawler aren't the tag champs now.  ;D

Well I picked a general time period and researched who was where at the time. Those who were big every where I just put them where they  may work the best. After that everyone else is fair game. I'm trying to run this as a "what if WWF didn't kill the big 3" So those who started in AWA may have stayed in the AWA and not have gone over to the WWF (IE Andre, Hogan Shawn Michaels) and the Crockett never sold out to Turner. It will be interesting to see who ends up where.

Thanks for following. Rotundo as NWA Champ should be an interesting one. Now that the World Champ is set Major feuds can get started. So Far The NWA and AWA have been the most enterteaining to book, For some reason WWF is not getting over as well but there lies the challenge :)
The TNM Members ChampPosted on 07/12/07 at 07:54:09

Crockett never selling to Turner...I wish that had been the case. Had Crockett had any business sense, I think Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW would've still been around. That time period of 1985 to 1989 for JCP was much better than anything the WWF was putting out in hindsight. Although, the WWF is remembered because of Vince's marketing genius.

Good to see you continuing this project.

Since this is similar to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, maybe you could start doing Top 5 or 10's for the championships.

The big news in January has to be Mike Rotundo winning the NWA Heavyweight title in Atlanta. With the field that was entered in the tournament one could say Rotundo was a long shot. There is talk already about who will be the one to take the title from the Captain and how long of a run he could have. Rotundo is not hearing any of this as he told PWW that he plans to hold this title for some time. As mentioned before, NWA and the AWA are jointly promoting Best of the Best in Memphis Tennessee. Nothing has been finalized but we do know the Horsemen will defend the NWA World Tag team titles and the NWA United States title will be defended. Promotion of the Month

PWW Promotion of the month has to be the NWA. They ended the month on a roll and finishing it up with crowning a new world champion. Consistently above average card ratings is why the NWA is putting butts in seats. They have the momentum going into next month and with the crowning of a US champion soon, they may be on top next month as well.

NWA: I'm pushing for Nikita in the finals. Muta, Dusty, or Ole would suit me fine as all three matches are unique.

AWA: Sam Houston vs. Lawler... time limit draw... SUPERB booking! I wonder if Lawler refused to do the job in his own promotion? Especially to skinny little Sam.

WWF: A couple of upsets as I see it... Muraco over Backlund and Stallions over Reed/Bundy. What's with Backlund interfering in the main? Is he already going crazy?

AWA: I've always been a fan of Rashke and his Claw Hold. Its not surprise seeing both Gagne's enter the tournament. I like Hogan and Steamboat. I'm not sure who I'm rooting for so far. I am rooting against the Gagne's though.

NWA: So Nikita got the boot because he's stupid, huh? Got himself DQ'd. There goes my pick.

WWF: I don't know, it still seems stale. I love that Muraco is main eventing, but something just is making the product not as exciting as the others. They need to pick up some guys from the other promotions, switch things up here and there.
LazyPosted on 07/20/07 at 04:11:49

I have to agree with you, for some reason the WWF seems stale, I'll see what I can do to living it up some.

April Ended on a surprising note with Bruno Sammartino's retirement speech interrupted by Harley Race, Sgt. How does this win shake up the locker room? I'm sure Don Muraco who was scheduled to face the Iron Sheik at Wrestlemania feels slighted. With King of the Ring coming in June will see who will get their first crack at the new champion.
