DWF 07/04/08 - what, ANOTHER ONE? What's all this?

La Parka vs Commissioner Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy opened the show, no surprise there, though he was about to go into
battle against La Parka on this occassion. Hardy however wanted to open things
with another pre-match diatribe, complete with a big podium for him to speak
from. As the Che-Hardy banners dropped down, Hardy declared that as ruler of
the DWF, he needed, for the citizens of the DWF (refering to the fans) to be
well looked after and free of evil, and that Jody Fleisch was to blame for all
the wrongs occuring - the rise in ticket prices, the traffic queues outside the
arena tonight and that batch of popcorn last week that gave fourteen people food
poisoning, and it was because of this that he, as the cult of personality
leader of the DWF, he would be accepting Jody Fleisch' challenge for a match
at Wrestlefest but he would likely be adding something to the proceedings at
some point. He finished off by adding that Fleisch would be in action at
Ground Zero but hadn't made a decision as to who he'd be facing.

So to the match with La Parka and La Parka wasn't over awed by his opponent,
instead backing out of a lockup from the get go to shake his knees at Hardy.
Hardy was furious and demanded his bodyguards do something. Snitsky responded
by breathing his fire breath on La Parka and telling Hardy "he's all yours
boss". Surprisingly this didn't phase La Parka and neither did Heidenreichs
repeated efforts to laser limbs off throughout the match. Still, Hardy looked
strong throughout and despite La Parkas antics, was probably winning on points.
La Parka came back and Hardy crawled away, indicating to the ref he had a knee
injury. While the ref checked it, Snitsky got onto the apron and used his fire
breath again. When La Parka responded with some air guitar, Snitsky punched him
in the face instead. Hardy, suddenly healed, nipped over and hit the Twist of
Fate and secured the three count.

Matt Hardy pinned La Parka Jr. with the Twist of Fate in 0:06:01.

Jerry Lynn dismisses Kurt Angle

After Kurt Angles victory last week against Raven, as dubious as it was, he's
earned the right to face Jerry Lynn at Ground Zero, unofficially at least.
Still, Lynn proved to be a man of his word in this instance and being
interviewed by Michael Cole he confirmed he would stand by his promise and said
he'd give Angle a crack at Ground Zero - after all Lynn noted, Angle has
waited and waited and waited for a title shot, having been passed over so often
and bar a very brief Intercontinental title reign, has never really been a true
champion in the DWF and every time he's had a chance to go after the big one,
something has gotten in his way, forever labelling Angle as a loser. Clearly
an attack on Angles character by Lynn, but one that may ring hard on the
former Olympic champion.

Steve Corino gives Billy Kidman the good news

Steve Corino had promised Billy Kidman some good news if they won their tag
match last week and now that they had gotten the win, he was ready to deliver.
Meeting with his tag team partner backstage (since they seem to arrive at the
arena seperately these days) he announced that he'd been doing a little
negotiating and had gotten the two of them a shot at the tag team titles at
Badd Blood. Kidman didn't seem THAT enthralled, asking when he'd be getting a
shot at the world title again. Corino seemed hurt that Kidman wasn't jumping
for joy, first noting that being a tag champ has helped many wrestlers become
great stars ("Bret Hart in the Hart Foundation, Shawn Michaels in the Rockers,
Kane when he teamed with Al Snow in Smokey Mountain" "The Rockers never won
the tag titles Steve" "Whatever...") before adding that he had made the
greatest sacrifice of them all - he had agreed that in return for their
getting a tag title shot, he would RISK his precious television title against
one member of Pretty Perfect tonight and looked to be on the verge of tears
at his supposedly touching gesture. Billy complied, noting that if Steve was
willing to risk his most prized possession just for him, they'd become the
greatest tag team champions ever. Sickeningly, the two shared an embrace at
this point to the faint background noise of the fans booing as they watched on
the big screen.

Rey Mysterio vs Juventud Guerrera

There was cruiserweight action as Rey Mysterio took on Juventud Guerrera.
Whilst Rey has overshone most of the original cruiserweight division in terms
of success (bar Billy Kidman), Juventud continues his quest to actually win
the cruiserweight belt for the first time despite over seven years of chasing.
Despite this, Juventud wasn't impressed and refered to his opponent as "Gay
Mysteri-NO" in his pre match spiel, before noting Rey should change the name of
his finisher to the "6-1-jerk".

Getting bored of Juvis antics, Rey made his entrance and was clearly not in the
mood for fun and games after the verbal diarrhoea he'd just heard, he was
quickest off the mark in a match that was obviously going to be more about pace
and high flying than anything. Indeed it was as both men hit some signature
spots and not so signature spots, busting out any high flying top rope move
they could think of in a very lucha libre style contest. However the match
didn't end very lucha libre like, with Rey dominanting after a 6-1-9 looked to
have finished off Guerrera, when Kurt Angle ran in and put the boots to Rey,
bringing an obvious disqualification into play. Angle slapped on an ankle lock
and really wrenched it in hard, with Rey tapping out furiously.

Finally a couple of officials tempted Angle away, but Angle wasn't entirely
done. Grabbing a mic, he blamed Rey Mysterio for having made him wait all this
time for a title shot (evidently suggesting Jerry Lynns words really had irked
him big time - typical Lynn, getting in somebodies head like that). See, Rey
had cost him his number one contenders match with Rhyno back at Revenge is
Sweet and made him wait for a title shot two months later than he should have,
adding he's much rather have faced Muraco because he's not so much of a jerk.
Whatever excuses Angle might muster up, Rey was hurt and was helped back by
the officials.

Rey Mysterio defeated Juventud Guerrera by disqualification in 0:09:02.

Angle receives some bad news & Andrew Martin shows up

After commercials, we saw Angle in the back looking a little more proud than he
did earlier, obviously under the belief that his actions were justified, when
some officials surrounded him. Earl Hebner, carrying a box of t-shirts, told
Angle that as a result of his actions, they'd gotten a call from Shane McMahon
and ordered that tonight he will be in tag team action against Jerry Lynn and
Raven, and he would have to find himself a tag team partner. Angle was furious,
probably because nobody likes him and finding as partner would be close to
impossible for this despicable human being.

Matt Hardy wasn't available to deliver the news himself as he was too busy
welcoming someone backstage - Andrew Martin, accompanied by his non-union
Puerto Rican employee Jose Estrada. Hardy greeted him and told Martin that as
the new DWF safety inspector, he had some good news - the DWF would be hosting
its first ever "bikini and thong" competition featuring some "hot babes" that
Matt himself claims to have found, but he just needed Martin to do some checks
out in the ring later on. Martin promised that he would ensure that everything
would be done safely and by the book.

Chris Jericho vs Rockabilly

Chris Jericho had a big match today against Rockabilly but had a few things to
clear up in a pre-match interview. First, as far as he was concerned, any beef
with King Kanyon was cleared up when he beat him at Last Man Standing since the
only reason he was going after Kanyon was because of the king costing him a
place in the Royal Rumble, which Jericho eventually won back anyway. He was,
however, looking to sort out the foursome of Los Guerreros who back jumped him
last week and vowed that they would never... ever mess with Y2J again.

In the ring, Jericho looked good against Rockabilly despite the frustrating
presence of Hunter Hearst-Helmsley at ringside. Jericho dominated the first
few minutes until Hunter grabbed him by the ankle when Jericho went for a
Lionsault. Jericho was angered and gave chase around the ring, but got caught
by Rockabilly when he re-entered. After doing a quick number on him, Rockabilly
unfortunately delivered his big guns - SHUFFLEBILLY! Doing his stupid backwards
shuffle thing around the ring, he was pelted with a barrage of litter from the
fans (and a few of the announcers). Perhaps if he'd paying more attention, he
may have fared better as when he spun around to do another lap of the ring,
Jericho was back up, grabbed him by the legs and turned him over into the Lion
Tamer, bringing about a quick submission.

Jericho celebrated a good win and will have his sights now set on Eddie and the
rest of the Guerrero clan. Meanwhile, backstage, Rockabilly and Helmsley made
their way back with their tails between their legs when they bumped into Brad
Armstrong entering the building. A look of fury crossed The Rocks eyes and
while Helmsley looked ready to defend himself, albeit backing down a fraction,
Rockabilly clearly wanted no part of Helmsley and persuaded Hunter to join him
in getting out of there. Had Brad not been carrying several large bags over his
shoulder, he may have given chase. Instead he just raised his eyebrow (yes, Brad
has mastered the eyebrow) and walked on.

Chris Jericho made Rockabilly submit to the Lion Tamer in 0:06:13.

Andrew Martin's safety checks

Andrew Martin was out in the ring with Jose Estrada and the two set about
measuring the height of the ring again, much as they did at Last Man Standing.
This time the two of them seemed to be nodding quite happily as the ring
seemed quite safe. However Martin then seemed concerned with the mat and began
tapping it in various places before taking a mic. Apparently the canvas was
nine sixteenths of an inch thinner than normal - fine for wrestling but NOT
fine for scantily clad women to walk on in high heels, and the ramp was too
slippery for them to go barefoot before adding he has a personal grudge against
the dangers of flip flops (whatever they are), rounding off by saying trainers
and the like weren't very lady like for a swimsuit contest so he had to
announce the competition was CANCELLED! The fans were livid, but Martin just
casually walked to the back.

Backstage, Martin was met by Kurt Angle. Angle was very impressed by the morals
that the former Test has displayed, adding he considers swimsuit competitions
to be part of the moral decay that is destroying American today, but of course
he was quick to point out it wasn't Americas fault but rather Russia for
"importing such a smutty institution to our great shores". Angle then asked
that Martin joined him on his team tonight in the main event. All that sucking
up (plus Martin having been away for so long has probably forgtten what a jerk
Angle is) was enough to persuade him to accept the offer. And with that, the
match was on.

Steve Corino vs Curt Hennig

Steve Corino then was putting his TV title on the line and man he would face
would be Curt Hennig as the announcers noted he had won a coin toss between
him and Owen earlier today. Despite both being heels, they engaged in a nice
little contest with neither man resorting to rule breaking for the most part
and even better, neither man brought their respective partners to ringside.
OK, it did degenerate slightly when both men started using the ropes or pulling
tights, but surprisingly we had ourselves a great encounter that could have
gone either way. Indeed, Corino looked in danger at one point when Hennig took
control and had him set up for the Perfect Plex, only for Corino to use his
free leg to hook Hennig and trip him up, bringing them both down. Corino landed
on top of Hennig who was winded slightly and when he staggered back up, Corino
put him right back down with the Old School Expulsion for the win. With
victory sealed, he and Kidman can now concentrate on perhaps becoming the next
tag team champions.

Steve Corino pinned Curt Hennig with the Old School Expulsion in 0:14:02.

Larry Zbyszko looks for help

Larry Zbyszko may have gotten his big win over Bruno a couple of months back
but there still remain the overlying threat of his biggest nemesis, John Cena.
Sick of weeks of humiliation, Zbyszko turned to one source he felt might be
able to get the job done on Cena, and walked right into the Young Lions
detective agency. Zbyszko explained to them he wanted them to dig some dirt on
Cena that he could use to embarass the unnecessary one. The Lions were
reluctant at first as they didn't want to help a prude like Zbyszko. Larry tried
offering them a hundred bucks, but managed to persuade them to help out when he
offered a hundred... EACH! Delighted with what would be their biggest pay out,
they promised to start investigating right after they'd gone to Burger King to
spend their hard earned cash and danced off into the night. I hope Larry knows
what he's getting himself into...

Edge vs Brian Pillman

He's torn Rob Van Dam apart, two weeks ago he left Christian a crumpled mess in
the ring, the last man left that Brian Pillman blames (as far as we know) for
supposedly causing him to snap and attack Sean O'Haire was Edge. With the two
going one on one tonight, here was Pillmans chance. Not surprisingly he didn't
hesitate in tearing into Edge in the sort of vicious attack we've become
accustomed to in recent weeks and Edge was quickly forced to protect his face
from the onslaught of blows. Though Edge was able to put up somewhat of a fight,
he was just no match for the ruthlessness of Pillman on this night and after
a missed spear saw him hit the corner hard, Edge staggered into Pillmans DDT
for the pin.

Pillman wasn't done there, oh no. Another DDT followed and after shoving the
official aside when he tried to stop proceedings, Pillman went to the outside
and pulled a sledgehammer out from under the ring. We saw a crowbar the other
week, a chain at Last Man Standing and now this maniac is running around with a
sledgehammer. Edge was knocked cold and in no position to defend himself and
it took a while host of officials surrounding the fallen Edge to persuade
Pillman to back off and even then it required a lot of thought from Pillman.

Brian Pillmans display of brutality in the ring had left Edge with a nice cut
just above the eye and it was enough for Matt Hardy to be convinced. Wisely
being flanked by his bodyguards, Matt Hardy met Pillman as the Loose Cannon was
making his way back to his locker room and told Pillman he would be the man who
would face Jody Fleisch at Ground Zero in order to soften Fleisch up. Pillman,
with a sick grin on his face, asked Hardy what would happen if he refused.
Matt seemed a bit stuck for an answer - even with two burly bodyguards behind
him, he was still uncomfortable in Pillmans presence but finally Hardy
suggested the two of them go back to his office and he'd make Pillman an offer
he couldn't refuse. There's a conversation I'd rather not be present at.

Brian Pillman pinned Edge with the DDT in 0:08:04.

The Kings Court with guest: Chavo Classic

The Kings Court today saw Kanyon interview Chavo Classic. Chavo made it known
at Last Man Standing that he's very proud of what happened in his match with
Rob Van Dam and takes full credit for ending "that pot smoking trastero's
career". He said that people used to think Rob Van Dam was hardcore but now he
has proven that he, Chavo Classic, is more hardcore than RVD ever was. The only
thing hardcore about this old windbag is how much he goes on, as he began
getting into fantasy land, saying he had proven he is as hardcore as they come
and nobody could touch him in those stakes. This brought out none other than
Pitbull #2 who actually knows a thing or two about being hardcore. Chavo
instantly backed down as the Pitbull stalked him around the Kings Court set
before the Guerrero saw his opening and darted backstage. He might be able to
go on, but it looks as if he can't back up his words.

"The Rock" Brad Armstrong vs Terry Gordy

After his earlier meeting with Rockabilly, Brad was in action tonight against
Terry Gordy. Despite arriving fairly late this evening, Brad was looking great
early on as he took it to Gordy from the get go. As a bonus for Armstrong,
Steve Williams was not present this evening, allowing these two to go one on
one. Hitting a lot of Rock signature moves, Brad was dominating the opening
stages until Gordy managed to scoop him up and level him with a powerslam.
Taking it to the mat, Gordy utilised his considerable strength advantage to
really tie up Brad with some stiff looking holds.

Brad inevitably made his comeback coming off the ropes and reversing whatever
Gordy was trying into a floatover DDT. Armstrong now was the man in control but
couldn't rule out Gordy who blocked his spit-punch combination with a right of
his own and locked in the Asiatic Spike. Brad went low with his foot that
caught Gordy hard and the Rock Bottom followed. All that was left to do was put
on he exclamation point and that he did as he hit the Peoples Elbow to score a
hard fought victory. Brads great run continues and the only question now is
how high can he go.

Brad Armstrong pinned Terry Gordy with the Peoples Elbow in 0:11:27.

Don Muraco and company...

Michael Cole was backstage with Don Muraco, Jeff Hardy, Alex Wright and Ulf
Herman - quite the uncomfortable situation to be in. Muraco and Wright were now
a lot more supportive of Ulf Herman, both agreeing that the grand gesture they
ordered him to perform to prove he was sorry for what happened at Last Man
Standing was more than met when he attacked Raven last week. To follow it up,
Muraco said he is sick and tired of Raven and Dynamite Kid (no doubt because
they were the two that physically eliminated him in the Royal Rumble) and
challenged them to a six man tag at Ground Zero with him, Wright and Herman
being the three to take them on. Jeff Hardy chipped in at this point...

Muraco so strong
Wright and Herman will triumph
The wind in my hair

After everyone got done throwing nervous glances at one another behind Jeff,
Cole queried who else they wanted to be on the Raven/Dynamite team. Wright
cackled and said something in German before adding they didn't care, they
could add anyone they wanted, with Muraco noting Jerry Lynn (the obvious choice)
would be far too busy with his title match. Laughing evily, we left them to it.

The Rock'n'Roll Express vs Doug Furnas & Phil LaFon

The Rock'n'Roll Express were looking to prove they were still a strong a unit
as you can get as they took on another team who have shown signs of frustration
in recent weeks, Doug Furnas and Phil LaFon. These two teams have had a number
of great battles and this was no different with the Express hitting some big
double team moves while Furnas and LaFon showed great continuity with quick
tags as Ricky Morton played Ricky Morton. Finally the hot tag came and Robert
Gibson began cleaning house before everyone spilled into the ring for a big
brawl. Furnas and LaFon began to win and worked over Gibson before LaFon hooked
Robert up. Furnas missed his patented dropkick and caught LaFon in the face
as Gibson slipped out of the way. LaFon fell from the ring while Gibson hit a
Rock'n'Roll Buster on Furnas. At this point Ricky Morton hit a blind tag, ran
in and made the cover for himself to claim the victory.

Celebrating like he'd won back the tag titles, Ricky was overjoyed before
Robert stopped him in his tracks, asking what the hell he was thinking at.
Meanwhile on the outside of the ring, Phil LaFon was arguing with Furnas over
the errant dropkick before they stormed off seperately, as did both members of
the Express. What is happening to the tag team division that would cause two
former tag team champions to be falling apart like this?

The Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) defeated
Doug Furnas & Phil Lafon (Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon) when R. Morton pinned
Furnas with the Rock'n'Roll Buster in 0:10:00.

Raven and Dynamite answer the challenge

Backstage, Raven and Dynamite were being interviewed and had a message for
Muraco and company and confirmed that they would take up the challenge for
Ground Zero. At this point, on a split screen, Muraco and company appeared,
laughing arrogantly saying they would destroy the two of them and if anyone
was stupid enough to volunteer to be their partner they'd destroy them as well.
Raven smiled and told them he'd already found a third man to team up with them
and on walked... THE ROCK! Brad Armstrongs presence made Muraco scowl, Jeff
Hardy looked surprised but Alex Wright looked the least happy knowing he'd have
to go up against the man he robbed of the Intercontinental title a few months
back. Ulf meanwhile... well, he sort of just stood there without flinching much.

Brad started off with a few choice phrases ("Finally The Rock HAS COME BACK to
Ground Zero") and he vowed to lay the smackdown on all three of their candy
asses AND that midget punk jabroni Muraco calls his manager if you smell what
The Rock is cooking. Indeed we do Brad... Muraco wasn't thrilled but not in the
least bit undaunted and promised to make Armstrong suffer at Ground Zero. So
the six man tag is now set and promises to be one of the biggest matches on the
pay-per-view with three former world champions involved in proceedings.

Jerry Lynn & Raven vs Kurt Angle & Andrew Martin... or not

To the nights main event and Kurt Angle entered first so he could bask in the
spotlight a little bit more. Martin followed with Estrada, followed by the team
of world champion Jerry Lynn and Royal Rumble winner Raven to a huge ovation.
Angle was a little concerned with his partners reluctance to enter the ring,
at which Martin took a mic and told Kurt since accepting his offer to team up,
he'd realised he'd forgotten something he noticed earlier - the gap between
the ring apron and the top rope was not of regulation height, and he himself
was one eighth of an inch too small to safely step over the top rope without
hurting his groin, but one eighth of an inch too tall to go between the ropes
without risking a back injury. Angle suggested he climb over the turnbuckles
in the corner but Martin seemed appauled at such a dangerous suggestion.
Instead he said he had an alternate that was just the right height to easily
negotiate the dangers of the ring ropes without too much risk of injury - Jose
Estrada. Jose seemed eager for action but Kurt did NOT seem amused one little
bit.

Martin left at this point, leaving Kurt stuck with Estrada as a partner. Suffice
say Angle demanded that he start and pretty much wrestled the bulk of the match
by himself. Overwhelmed by the numbers disadvantage he was causing himself,
Angle was dominated by the Lynn/Raven pairing with Raven particularly doing
some damage as he looked for a small measure of payback after last weeks defeat.
When Jose did come in, when Angle was exhausted and struggling to cope, he
didn't last too long either, looking totally out of his depth - the beating he
quickly took certainly didn't look safe at all.

Angle was soon forced to tag back in when Estrada staggered his way else be in
danger of losing the match and despite holding his own with Raven for a little
while as he utilised what he's best at, pure mat wrestling, he couldn't manage
these odds and after Lynn destroyed him with a clothesline that sent Angle
all the way into his own corner, banging against Estrada, he took the chance to
tag himself out and stagger off home. Estrada fought as bravely as he could,
that is to say it was over in about thirty seconds. After Lynn hit the Cradle
Piledriver, Raven put the exclamation point on with the Evenflow and got the
pin. Angles only consellation would be that the odds won't quite be this
skewed come Badd Blood, but he didn't look happy with how this one had turned
out.

Jerry Lynn & Raven (Jerry Lynn and Raven) defeated Jose Estrada and Kurt Angle
when Raven pinned Jose Estrada after the Evenflow in 0:11:17.

Figured I'd might as well give some feedback while I'm in a wrestling related frame of mind:

Random Thoughts:

Hardy wins, as much as I love me some La Parka, this was the right choice. Snitsky and Heidenreich show why they rule, especially Snitsky responding by Parka's air guitar by punching him into the face. That was class.

So Angle's never won the big one. Actually as much as I like Jerry Lynn, I suppose that he better win at Ground Zero, otherwise, Angle would be the Lex Luger of the DWF, always choking.

Corino is such as a humarntarian, risking his Television Title for a shot at the Tag Team Titles. I'm tearing up.

I'll tell you you can never go wrong with Juvi/Rey. Angle beats Rey, interesting to see that Angle would rather have faced Muraco than Lynn. Even Angle knows that Lynn is a superior wrestler in every way. And more bad news, Angle needs to find someone who doesn't hate him, against Lynn and Raven tonight.

Jose Estrada? Now that's a name I'd never thought I'd see ever again. What, was Savio Vega busy :).

THE SHUFFLEBILLY~!. Greatness, and Jericho wins, like the outcome was in any doubt. Also, "The Rock" Brad Armstrong, can't really go wrong with him, either, if you smell what I'm cooking. I'm thinking he should have a feud with Don Muraco, for obvious reasons, one day.

Those damn Russians, and their morally corrupting swim suit competitions. Not Test seems to be suckered into being Angle's partner, why do I see him eating the pin?

Corino wins a great match, figured as much. Kidman/Corino against Pretty Perfect should be a very fun tag team match.

LARRY Z~! I remember getting up every Saturday morning and watching WCW {Pro} with him, Dusty Rhodes, and Chris Cruise commentating. Good times, good times. Anyway, he wants a piece of Cena, and trys to beat Cena at his own game, enlisting the help of the Young Lions, with a hundred dollars...each. I doubt Larry can beat Cena at his own game.

Pillman rules and Matt Hardy proves his genius by putting Fleish at Ground Zero, providing Pillman accepts his offer.

Chavo Classic doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, as he incurs the wrath of Pitbull #2. Chavo classic wisely bails, before the roid rage can kick in.

The Rock laid the Smackdown on Gordy, if you smell what I'm cooking. Another great match, really nothing more to add.

Those dastardly Germans and Muraco against Dynamite, Raven, and a partner at the Pay Per View. I'm interested to see who Dynamite and Raven dig up to even the odds. And BTW, another classic hiaku by Hardy.

Damn, these long term tag teams fighting, what has this world coming to? At the very least, Morton seems to be cast as a bit of a heel from all indications here, which is giving me flashbacks to the York Foundation

Holy shit, I just suggested a Muraco, Armstrong feud earlier, and now they're on opposite teams at the Pay Per View. That just rules.

Okay, I never thought I'd say this in my life, but Andrew Martin rules, with that bit about the ropes not being at the right height. Estrada is right however and Kurt doesn't seem all that thrilled that a former member of a Z-Level stable is his tag team partner. Estrada does the jobski, well to be fair.

Damn, that took a bit longer than I thought, but it was worth it. Good show, keep up the excellent work!
AzraelPosted on 04/30/08 at 04:35:04

ˇViva la Hardy! La Parka endures the fire and the flames through the power of rock! But then Hardy knocks him out. Great opening to the program to establish Hardy.

Lynn's taking Angle a little lightly, which seems an odd choice for the new champ.

Corino and Kidman get a shot at the titles? Should be fun. Kidman's still a jerk.

Well, Angle's sensitive I guess. Poor Rey got his ankle broke. This does set up the main event for the night though. Who's going to tag with Angle though? Muraco?

Jericho beats Rockabilly and his Shufflebilly pretty easily and vows revenge on the Guerreros. Not bad stuff.

And Martin thinks of the women and children leading to his aligning with Angle as the last hope of morality in this place.

Corino! As expected he gets the win over Hennig to retain the title, but it's unlikely that did anything to worry the champs at Ground Zero.

Pillman rolls over another quality wrestler in Edge. It'll be interesting to see the Pillman/Fleisch match.

The Rock comes back to the DWF and beats Gordy in a good match. Hopefully this will let Armstrong go to a higher level.

Cole is with Muraco and Co, which is awkward, but less awkward than if he had been with Heidenreich.

Martin understandably wants to protect his crotch from ropeburn. I guess I can't fault him even if Angle's not amused.
Snabbit888Posted on 04/30/08 at 12:25:40

This was a really strong show.  I like Jerry Lynn's cocky dismissal of Angle.  He obviously knows Angle is a legit threat, but he is playing the ol' mindgames.

That was actually a good gesture from Corino to put his TV Title on the line to get he and Kidman a tag title shot.  I think it's still going to backfire and lead to a Kidman face turn, but it's moving along quite nicely.

Andrew Martin's new gimmick is awesome.  Safety inspector!  You do a great job of coming up with alternate gimmicks that are a bit out there but totally work in thee context of everything.  Kudos.

Pillman is insanity.  I don't like Fleisch's chances at the PPV.

HAIKU!

Keep these coming.  I gotta get back into it fully, sir!

I'm amazing? I'm printing this post off and framing it.

And since the circuit has been going for so long, it'd be sort of difficult to start from scratch, especially considering that I have several months worth (at least in regards to a few of the titles) planned.

Funnily enough I missed that bit of your post the first time but was thinking about it earlier today, what with the "Deliverance 2" gag still unfortunately fresh in my mind. While I'm here, let's touch upon some of Matt's points. In a non Deliverance style, that is.

1) Jose Estrada? Now that's a name I'd never thought I'd see ever again. What, was Savio Vega busy :).

2) Also, "The Rock" Brad Armstrong, can't really go wrong with him, either, if you smell what I'm cooking. I'm thinking he should have a feud with Don Muraco, for obvious reasons, one day.

3) Damn, these long term tag teams fighting, what has this world coming to? At the very least, Morton seems to be cast as a bit of a heel from all indications here, which is giving me flashbacks to the York Foundation
1) I wanted a random Puerto Rican (for no particular reason) to be Martin's second without going for the obvious choice in Savio. I picked Jose because I always remember him more than the other two Boricuas because of Edge's debut.

2) It's on the "to-do" list at some point. I'm holding off doing the one-on-one match for now though as there are a few guys I want Muraco to face that he's not really tangled with much before, plus I've got specifics for Armstrong right now.

3) I flipped and flopped a bit before settling on who'll be doing what exactly out of those four. Just so you know.
