NAWA Glory 2/17/05

Stills are shown at the top of the program with the classic match between Miles Stylish and Jerry Lynn at Blinded by Fury, a match that might be the greatest match in NAWA history. Do yourselves a favor and order the replay, to see this and many other great matches but tonight, the road to NAWA Reality Check on March 20th begins tonight on Glory.

We cut to the ring, to a smartly dressed young man, who is identified as the big cheese himself, the owner of the New Age Wrestling Alliance, Matt Harms. Harms gets on the microphone and introduces himself to the fans. He hypes up NAWA Reality Check 2005 as perhaps the one of the biggest nights in the history of this company, mostly due to the main event. The winner of the Luck of the Draw 2005 match and perhaps one of the most dominant forces in the NAWA, Ron Waterman will square off against the NAWA World Champion Harry Harris, for the first time ever. Harms says that this event, in Toronto, has been sold out for weeks but you can still see this historic match only on Pay Per View.

"Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top plays, interrupting the sales pitch of the NAWA Owner and out comes Miles Stylish, looking absolutely crazed, eyes wide and looking as if he had not slept since he lost the NAWA International Championship. Stylish reaches for his waist, a brief mutter of "it's not here" can be picked up by the camera. Stylish grabs the microphone, saying that the NAWA World Title Match between Ron Waterman and Harry Harris will be big, perhaps one of the bigger matches in NAWA history, but Stylish doesn't care, he wants his NAWA World Title Shot, he wants it now, he needs it now! Stylish reaches forward and grabs Harms by his suit coat, saying he has to win the NAWA World Title, he had a belt once, but he lost it, and now he wants a bigger one, a shiner one. Stylish mutters under his breath saying how Harris never beat him, yet Harris is the champion, Stylish should have the title shot, along with a bunch of other random babblings that don't make sense but make it obvious that losing the NAWA International Title at Blinded by Fury has pushed Stylish slightly over the edge.

Harms says that Stylish had a chance to become number one contender a few weeks ago against Teddy Hart, he failed, but Stylish yells about a scam to protect the golden boy of the New Age Wrestling Alliance Harry Harris. Stylish yells he will be champion before long and right now, he's going to bash Harms's head in. STYLISH LIFTS THE NAWA OWNER TO HIS SHOULDERS AND BRINGS HIM DOWN WITH THE LAS VEGAS TRAUMA!

The crowd explodes into boos, before going into a hush as Stylish steps back muttering "he forced my hand". Harms is not a wrestler, that move has taken out many top wrestlers but damnit, the NAWA owner is not a wrestler and out comes New Jack with some security. Stylish backs off, as he gets maced in the face, before he is clubbed a couple of times and thrown down, before he is handcuffed. Stylish kicks his feet, demanding a title shot as he is led out of the arena in handcuffs, for brutally assaulting the owner of the New Age Wrestling Alliance. Out come the paramedics to check on Harms, who is not moving after suffering that Las Vegas Trauma. We need to head out for a commercial to get this sorted out as Harms really got his bell rung tonight on Glory.

We understand that as a result of that unprovoked attack on NAWA Owner Matt Harms, Miles Stylish has been suspended from the New Age Wrestling Alliance for thirty days and also will spend a night in jail. Stylish has sure crossed the line and perhaps he'll cool off after thirty days in "time-out".

Rapture(w/Desdomia) vs. Raven

Raven attacks Rapture at the bell, battering the Archangel of Anarchy with punch after punch, before he whips Rapture into the corner. Corner clothesline rocks Rapture and Raven blasts Rapture with a chop. Raven sends Rapture off into the ropes and back elbowsmash, before he backs off. Elbowdrop driven down to the chest of Rapture. Raven pulls up Rapture by the hair and rams him into the corner, before choking him and tossing him to the floor. Raven slides to the outside and running knee to the face. He hooks Rapture from behind and sends him into the guardrail with a Russian Legsweep, before he scoops up Rapture and rolls him back into the ring. Raven enters the ring but Desdomia grabs the foot. She has the foot but Raven kicks him off into the guardrail and Rapture catches Raven with a running dropkick to the face.

Another clothesline rocks Rapture and Raven picks up Rapture, before kicking him into the midsection. EVENFLOW DDT BRINGS RAPTURE DOWN! Rapture is deflated but the NAWA World Tag Team Champions Armageddon and Destruction enter the ring to attack Raven for the disqualification!

Raven defeated Rapture by disqualification in 0:07:52.
Rating: * 3/4

The NAWA World Tag Team Champions are double teaming Raven and Raven attempts to fight them off but out comes Christopher Daniels, and he catches Raven with a spin kick which rocks him. Daniels, Armageddon, and Destruction are triple teaming Raven in the center of the ring, as Rapture is up, joining hte party for a four on one assault on Raven. Raven looks to be in trouble but Teddy Hart is walking down to the ring, with a kendo stick, dressed in a jean jacket and torn blue jeans. Hart slides into the ring as Daniels acknowledges him with a nod. Raven is down in the ring as Hart has the kendo stick and HART WAFFLES DANIELS WITH THE KENDO STICK! The crowd is silent for a moment but Hart cracks Rapture with the kendo stick, then Armageddon, then Destruction, which draws louder cheers with every attack, a foreign concept for Teddy Hart to be sure.

The Archangels have been attacked by Teddy Hart with that kendo stick and Raven pulls himself up, as Hart as the kendo stick in hand. Hart turns to Raven, before he calmly walks off, Raven following him down the ramp, as there is some cheers, but many of the fans don't know what to make of this new turn of events involving Teddy Hart. After all, he hasn't been the most trustworthy person over the past eighteen or so months. The announcers are skeptical of Hart's motives.

Red is thrown to Homicide and hoisted up. COP KILLA DRILLS RED DOWN TO THE CANVAS! Red has been obliterated! The Rottweilers, the number one contenders for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles have taken out yet another tag team in their quest for the gold. The Rottweilers pose in the ring over the unconcious bodies of their opponents as we head backstage where Dan Marion is standing by with the number one contender for the NAWA International Champion, Tony Mamaluke.

Backstage:

Mamaluke looks smug as Marion stands by him. Marion talks about how we've seen a change of attitude of Mamaluke, a total one eighty, when he stole the pin last Sunday. Mamaluke respondes that for too long he has pandered to the fans, playing to them, and for the past six months he's lost match after match, after match, when he tried to play by the rules. The fans are nothing, they don't matter, Mamaluke is a great athlete and it's not about the fans, it's about the money, the glory, and the championships. Mamaluke says that this new attitude has been spawned by his new agent, one of the greatest in the world, a man who knows how to wheel and deal with the best of them. It is because of this agent that Mamaluke received a new seven figure contract and a private lockerroom with catered, imported meals. Marion asks who this agent is, but Mamaluke says that it really isn't anyone's business, perhaps we'll find out soon enough. At Reality Check, he will become the NAWA International Champion. Tonight, he has a match with Christopher Daniels, and much like the Pay Per View, Mamaluke will win by any means neccessary. And if the fans don't like it, well, they can stick it up their ass, because Mamaluke's making seven figures, bitch! With that, we fade to a

We have this announcement straight from the office of the NAWA Commissioner New Jack. Tonight, Teddy Hart and Raven will team up in the main event to square off against the NAWA World Tag Team Champions Armageddon and Destruction. Christopher Daniels wanted to gain a measure of revenge against Hart and Raven so much for the events of earlier tonight, that he's offered to put the NAWA World Tag Team Titles on the line. Yet, New Jack has the last laugh, as he's barred the other members of the Archangels of Anarchy from ringside.

Sedrick Skyhawk makes his way down the ring, with Candace Sweet in the ring, hyping up the glorious victory that Skyhawk scored last Sunday over Rapmaster Killings, ignoring the fact that his large bodyguard Bruno was the deciding factor of that match. Tonight, Skyhawk will make a star tonight, as another wrestler will get the rub by just being in the ring with Sedrick Skyhawk and this is a non-title match, but if this wrestler can beat Skyhawk, they will get a Television Title Match down the road. Out comes his opponent, a man making his NAWA debut tonight on Glory, Chuck Palumbo! Palumbo enters the ring, and stares down Skyhawk, as the bell rings.

Non Title Match
Chuck Palumbo vs. Sedrick Skyhawk(w/Candace Sweet and Bruno)

Both men lock up and Palumbo shoved Skyhawk into the corner, muscling him in. Skyhawk goes to the floor, to walk around the ring, before he enters the ring. Test of strength and both men's knuckles lock, with Palumbo pushing Skyhawk backwards, Palumbo attempting to push him backwards as Skyhawk screams in agony, as Palumbo is putting the pressure on him. The head is ducked and Skyhawk goes for a kneelift. Palumbo backs off and running clothesline sends Skyhawk down. Another pair of clotheslines and Palumbo whips Skyhawk into the corner. High back body drop brings Skyhawk down and Palumbo bounces off the ropes, before he brings Skyhawk down with a leaping shoulderblock and Skyhawk slides to the floor.

Palumbo rushes into the ring and chases Skyhawk around the foor. Skyhawk ducks down, as Candace distracts the referee, but Bruno hammers Palumbo with a clothesline. Skyhawk picks up Palumbo by the hair and rolls him into the ring. Kneelift to the chest and Skyhawk snapmares Palumbo, before he applies a chinlock. The crowd boos, as Skyhawk lazily works over Palumbo, using the ropes for leverage. The referee checks the arm as Skyhawk removes his feet from the ropes before he can be caught. Arm dropped two and a half times, but Palumbo fights out, elbows to the midsection and belly to back suplex. Skyhawk staggers to his feet and Palumbo punches away at Skyhawk, before he whips him into the ropes. Overhead belly to belly suplex sends Skyhawk down to the canvas! Skyhawk is rattled and Palumbo covers for a two and a half count. Palumbo gives the signal, the Jungle Kick could be coming up, but Candace Sweet is on the ring apron. Bruno enters the ring and PALUMBO CONNECTS WITH THE JUNGLE KICK! No effect as Bruno slams his beefy fist into the chest of Palumbo as Palumbo staggers into Skyhawk, who kicks him and connects with the Brush with Greatness. The referee turns around and Skyhawk makes the cover, using the ropes for leverage to score the pin!

Sederick Skyhawk pinned Chuck Palumbo with the Brush with Greatness in 0:07:26.
Rating: **

Skyhawk has his hand raised in a token of victory, as he takes the NAWA Television Title, strapping it around his waist, as he stands over the body of Palumbo, posing in victory, as Palumbo's NAWA debut ends on a down note.

We fade out to a video package spotlighting the challenger for the NAWA World Championship Ron Waterman. Footage is shown of Waterman's back to back Luck of the Draw match victories in 2004 and 2005, followed by his dominating victories over the likes of Jerry Lynn, Raven, Miles Stylish, Tony Mamaluke, Christsopher Daniels, Jeff Jarrett, Rapmaster Killings, Scott Steiner, and many others. March 20th, Reality Check, Ron Waterman and Harry Harris for the NAWA World Championship, for the first time ever, only on Pay Per View!"

Christopher Daniels(w/Desdomia) vs. Tony Mamaluke

Daniels looks like he had his bell rung after that kendo stick shot earlier. Both men lock up and Mamaluke quickly wrings out the arm of Daniels, before he drives a pair of elbows down across the elbow. Mamaluke chops away at Daniels and whips him into the corner. Another snap suplex before Mamaluke hangs onto Daniels, before he delivers a brain buster, dropping him onto his head! Mamaluke makes the cover hooking the leg for a two count, before he applies a seated abdominal stretch. Daniels is being worked over, as Mamaluke grabs onto the rope behind the back of the referee, before he breaks the hold and stomps away at Daniels, before he drops a leg across the top of the head and applies a cravate!

Mamaluke works over Daniels with a cravate, before he drills a knee to the head, softening up the head, from when it started when he suffered that kendo stick shot. The hold is broken and Mamaluke with an European Uppercut. Another European Uppercut and Mamaluke grabs Daniels, before he tosses him through the ropes to the floor. Mamaluke steps back and teases diving to the floor, which draws a few cheers, but he sticks his nose in the air at the thought of pleasing the fans, rolling to the floor. European Uppercut to the chest of Daniels and Mamaluke grabs Daniels, before he rams him headfirst into the ring steps, before he rolls Daniels into the ring. Kick to the midsection of Daniels and Mamaluke hoists up Daniels for a power bomb but Daniels flips onto his feet, before he connects with a spin kick to rock Mamaluke!

Tony Mamaluke pinned Christopher Daniels after a backslide in 0:15:28.
Rating: *** 3/4

Daniels attacks Mamaluke after the bell, beating him down, as it's obvious that he isn't exactly thrilled that Mamaluke managed to screw him out of the victory. Daniels beats down Mamaluke and sents him out for the Angel's Wings, but THE NAWA INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION JERRY LYNN MAKES HIS WAY DOWN TO THE RING! Lynn enters the ring and takes out Daniels with a clothesline, before punching away at him and tosses Daniels to the floor. While Lynn does have to defend that title against Mamaluke at Reality Check, his competitive nature forces him to want Mamaluke at one hundred percent and no less.

Mamaluke pulls himself as Lynn stands in the ring. LYNN IS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY MAMALUKE! Mamaluke stomps away at the back of the head of the NAWA International Champion as Mamaluke yells: "You stole my spotlight!" The crowd is really giving Mamaluke static, as he attacked the same man who saved him, the ungrateful bastard! Mamaluke picks up Lynn and hooks the arms, before he brings up Lynn. STRAIGHT JACKET POWER BOMB BRINGS THE NAWA INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION TO THE CANVAS! Mamaluke spits on Lynn, before he wants off. This new attitude of Tony Mamaluke is something else, but whoever this mysterious agent is, he has really lit a fire underneath Mamaluke! At Reality Check, Mamaluke will have a big test as he faces off against Jerry Lynn for the NAWA International Title but right now we have to step out for this

Twizted Youth vs. Samoa Joe

The referee bends down, but Youth may have been knocked unconcious from the running kick on so the referee stops the match, giving Joe the victory!

Samoa Joe defeated Twizted Youth when Twizted Youth passed out in the Kokina Clutch in 0:02:29.
Rating: ** 1/4

Joe gets up as Twizted Youth is laid out in the ring, a deflated, absolutely destroyed mess. Samoa Joe shows that he's looking to make an impact in the New Age Wrestling Alliance in his second match and Twizted Youth was the unfortunate means to demonstrate that message.

A video package is shown spotlighting the other half of the double main event, Harry Harris. We see how he won both of his NAWA World Titles, the Frog Splash right to Raven at WrestleClash II and reversing the sleeperhold into a backward bridge against The Dark Warrior back at StarClash 04 to win his current title. We see highlights of Harris in control against the likes of Jeff Jarrett, Shane Douglas, Sting, Miles Stylish, Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels, Raven, and a few others before we cut to a gym, where we see Harry Harris working out, before he sits down, and holds up the NAWA World Title belt to the camera, remarking "This is my life, Waterman and I don't care how dominant of a force you are, nothing's taking it away from me. I'll do anything to keep this belt. I'm going to retain the NAWA World Championsip against you at Reality Check or die trying". More footage of Harris working out before we quickly cut to the voiceover hyping up the NAWA World Championship match at Reality Check. Harry Harris and Ron Waterman for the NAWA World Title, the first time ever, March 20th, only on Pay Per View.

Teddy Hart and Raven defeated The Archangels of Anarchy (Armageddon and Destruction) when Teddy Hart pinned Destruction with the Hart Attack in 0:14:52.
Rating: ***
(Teddy Hart and Raven won the NAWA Tag Team Titles.)

The crowd gives a moderately postive reaction, as the Archangels of Anarchy have lost the NAWA World Tag Team Titles, as Hart and Raven are handed the belts from the referee, as they hold them up in celebration. We have new NAWA World Champions after a wild and quite unusual night of NAWA action. What will next week bring? Tune in, as we are out! See you next week on Glory!

I'm willing to bet that the result in the main could spell some dissension for the Archangels. Daniels losing as well won't have helped matters. The other question is, of course, what sort of unit Teddy and Raven will make. It's one step past "wacky tag champs who hate each other" but one prior to "tag champs who get along".

CM Punk meanwhile... yeah, he's not a member of the Archangels so I guess what he did wasn't tantamount to the earlier rules laid down by New Jack (wait... New Jack laying down rules?)

Stylish didn't take losing to Jerry Lynn too well, but I have to give him credit for beating you up (*ahem*). And I have to raise an eyebrow at you describing yourself as 'smartly dressed'... well if we could all write our own reviews... :P

Whenever I see the name 'Bruno', I think either the former world champion or the gay fashion reporter. Am I close to either? I'm guessing by Palumbo getting dicked on his debut there that he's not destined for a huge push or anything.

The Rottweilers, haven't said anything about them yet - I assume that they get their title shot at Reality Check, but they seem to be on a nice little roll right now. If you could give them the old Jamie Noble-Pitbull music, thankyou very much. Speaking of theme music, I was reading some older stuff, and seeing you using 'Take my Breath Away', I just realised how inspired that it. How can you not hate someone who uses something that pretentious. I may have to steal that one off of you.

Poor Twizted Youth indeed. He's gone a long way since the old days too. Now then, Samoa Joe has debuted, he actually needs something to do. But then we've got a whole month until the pay-per-view...
SolomattGrundyPosted on 04/27/08 at 14:48:23

New Jack laying down rules, I'm actually more amused with New Jack having somebody arrested. Normally, he's on the other side of that situation. ;D

None of the above on Bruno.

Yes, I know, my description did seem to be a bit egotistical but in both of my live appearances at the arena(I think I only showed up live two times, could be wrong), I was beaten up by someone. First it was Ron Waterman during the Disco Inferno era as Commissioner and now it was Miles Stylish. You think I'd learn to stay at the office by now.

I believe this is the second greatest match in Twizted Youth's career, the greatest one was against Miles Stylish, where if I'm not mistaken, he managed to force a ** 3/4 match out of Youth. Wish I could remember what show it was on, it could have been on a house show for all I know, and those have been lost forever.
