[GCW] Deadly Draw - 4/23/06

Snabbit888Posted on 04/04/08 at 07:16:45

The long wait is over and my favorite night of the year is upon us as Indianapolis, Indiana was packed for Deadly Draw! Tonight, thirty of the top superstars are all vying for the opportunity to main event the biggest night in our industry at Super Cade, when they all compete in the over-the-top rope Deadly Draw match! Not only that, but all four GCW championships are on the line! The 5-time World Tag Team champions Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin defend the gold against MNM! Christopher Daniels will put his X Title on the line against his long time nemesis CM Punk! John Bradshaw Layfield puts the Intercontinental Title up for grabs against the longest reigning IC champ in history, "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown! And for the biggest game in the prize, Brock Lesnar, injured ribs and all, tries to keep his 10-month World Heavyweight Title reign in jeopardy as he takes on Booker T!

Match #1
World Tag Team Title Match
The World's Greatest Tag Team © vs. MNM (w/ Melina)
MNM has been petitioning for a shot at the World Tag Team Titles for months now, and they were able to finally obtain it merely by attacking Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin viciously a few weeks back. There is no better tag team in the world right now than Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, but one thing that is for certain is that no team can cheat the way that Johnny Nitro and Shannon Moore can. MNM were doing everything in their cheating bag of tricks that they could think of all at the urging of Melina. Haas and Benjamin went about their business as usual with tandem offense. The match seemed to be well in hand for a successful WGTT defense, but that was before Johnny Nitro opportunistically caught Benjamin by surprise with a rolling reverse cradle and a handful of tights and just like that, we had brand new tag team champions!

MNM (Shannon Moore and Johnny Nitro) defeated The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) when Nitro pinned S. Benjamin after a rolling reverse cradle in 0:09:21.
Rating: *** 1/4
(MNM won the GCW World Tag Team Titles.)

And just like that, the fifth reign of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin was over. Nitro and Moore escaped to the back like thieves in the night as Melina celebrated the first gold brought to the group. Haas tried to console Benjamin but Benjamin was not listening, beating himself up as he headed to the back.

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS IS READY FOR CM PUNK
Right before his X Title defense, "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels was with a distracted Maria (due to the situation with Edge for those of you keeping score at home) who asked him about the match. Daniels said that he has been waiting for this match and that tonight he would show everyone just how big of a fraud CM Punk is. "The fact that anyone would believe this 'change of heart' nonsense is a joke. I am going to expose Punk for the two-faced evil sonofabitch he is and I will leave Indianapolis the X champion!"

Match #2
X Title Match
Christopher Daniels © vs. CM Punk (w/ Daffney)
Christopher Daniels to date is the only X champion in GCW history, having won the title back in November. His match tonight would be his toughest title defense to date against CM Punk, not only because Punk is one of the finest young competitors in GCW, but because of all the history these two have together. It was obvious right from the opening bell that Daniels was fueled by emotion, wanting so desperately to out Punk as the fraud he claims he is. Punk, however, didn't show any signs of cheating or any underhanded tactics whatsoever. He sure had his opportunities, but he refrained and just wrestled, and this was a fantastic match to boot. Daniels was getting frustrated not only because he couldn't put Punk away, but because Punk wasn't doing anything dastardly. Daniels did appear to have the match ready to put away when he set Punk up for the Angel's Wings, but Punk reversed it with a small package. Daniels' foot ended up tangled in the ropes, but referee Mike Chioda didn't see it and counted the three, making CM Punk the new X champion.

CM Punk pinned Christopher Daniels after a small package in 0:09:08.
Rating: **** 1/4
(CM Punk won the GCW X Title.)

Christopher Daniels protested with Chioda about his foot being in the ropes, but Chioda simply said he didn't see it and had to make the call as he saw it. Daniels was furious, but the decision had been made. After the match, in trying to be a good sport, Punk offered Daniels a "no hard feelings" handshake, but instead, Daniels dropped him with the Angel's Wings! Apparently Daniels is not convinced.

Match #3
Edge (w/ Lita, Mickie James, Gail Kim) vs. Mystery Opponent
Edge was at his wits end with how many times he's been attacked in recent weeks, assuming the masked man attacking him was suspended Matt Hardy (seeing how Hardy did indeed attack Edge himself resulting in a trip to jail and that Edge has taken a liking to Hardy's girlfriend Maria). When Tommy Dreamer informed the Rated R Superstar that it wasn't Hardy who attacked him, Edge demanded to wrestle whoever it was tonight. Edge was waiting in the ring and got the shock of a career when the masked man turned out to be CHRISTIAN. Christian is in GCW and Edge couldn't believe it. Christian came right after Edge before the bell could even ring and he didn't relent. Christian looked great in his debut as he all but dominated this match. That is, until referee Chad Patton was bumped. Edge's Brothel slid him in a chair that he looked primed and ready to nail Christian with it when MATT HARDY ran in through the crowd with a chair of his own and we had a standoff! Edge and Hardy each had a chair and were about to tear into each other when Christian out of nowhere hit a low blow... on MATT HARDY. The crowd's cheers immediately became boos as Edge and Christian looked at each other and then embraced. It was all a setup from the very start. Christian nailed Hardy with the Unprettier and Edge followed with the Spear to completely wipe him out. MARIA ran out to try to help out her boyfriend in some way, but there was nothing she could do as Edge and Christian took Hardy out one more time with the Conchairto. The medical staff rushed out to take care of Hardy who undoubtedly has to have a concussion after that vicious attack. What a sickening display from these two.

Edge and Christian battled to a no contest in 0:12:10.
Rating: *** 1/4

TOMMY DREAMER HAS A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
Commissioner Tommy Dreamer came out and did some crowd work hyping the matches we still had coming up, including two title matches and Deadly Draw. Dreamer said that he had a big announcement regarding Summer Sizzler, which is the big event that takes place every August on pay-per-view, this year taking place on August 27th. Dreamer said though it's still a bit too far away to mention any signed matches, he could tell us all where it would take place. For the first time in GCW history, a pay-per-view would take place away from North America, namely White Hart Lane in London, England!

Match #4
Intercontinental Title Match
John Bradshaw Layfield © (w/ Lamont) vs. Monty Brown
Many people believe that JBL has lucked his way through his first two months as Intercontinental champion, but the fact he is still holding the gold stands above all else. Many people felt that he met his roadblock tonight though as he took on "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown, who also happens to be the longest reigning IC champion in GCW history. With the arrogance and the cowardice that JBL often shows, it's easy to forget that underneath that is one of the toughest men to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. If anybody could stand toe-to-toe with the Alpha Male, it was JBL.

As you would expect from these two, it was not a pretty match. Not a lot of wristlocks and chain wrestling in this one. You did see two full grown men beat the ever-living crap out of each other though, so there is something to say for that. You did see a very unlucky turn of events for Brown though as late in the match, he was able to hit the Pounce but unfortunately the Pounce knocked JBL straight to the floor. An unlucky break for Brown, who had to get JBL back in the ring if he wanted to win the title. He did get JBL back in the ring and went for another Pounce, but JBL avoided it this time and almost took Brown's head off with the Stock Market Crash. I don't care who you are - you're not getting up from that.

John Bradshaw Layfield pinned Monty Brown with the Stock Market Crash in 0:14:50.
Rating: *** 1/4
(John Bradshaw Layfield retained the GCW Intercontinental Title.)

You have to hand it to JBL - not many people expected him to win this match but he did so in impressive fashion. Monty Brown has nothing to be ashamed of in this losing effort. If it weren't for a bit of bad luck, he could just as easily be the Intercontinental champion right now. This won't be the last time we see these two as they are both in the Deadly Draw match as well.

BROCK LESNAR, HURT RIBS AND ALL, IS READY
World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was interviewed just before his title defense. Lesnar said it's no secret that he's hurt, but he added that being the champion means that you're always going to be hurting. "It comes with the territory." The Monster From Minnesota continued saying that these are the type of situations where the good become great, when a man overcomes the odds and shows that he has that little extra something. "Booker, you may have hurt me, but you made one big mistake - you didn't kill me, and there is nothing short of that that will keep me from staying the World Heavyweight champion!"

Match #5
World Heavyweight Title Match
Brock Lesnar © vs. Booker T (w/ Sharmell)
This was Booker T's biggest opportunity. Not only was he wrestling for the World Heavyweight Title, but he injured Brock Lesnar's ribs going into tonight. This was certainly the most vulnerable that Lesnar has been going into a title defense since his reign began 10 months ago. Lesnar isn't one to make excuses though and he was ready to defend his title at all costs. Lesnar did a great job early on of using his power to keep Booker away from him and wear the Houston native down. However it was just a matter of time before Booker got one good shot in on Lesnar's ribs and Lesnar's offense came to a screeching halt.

This match featured something we haven't seen too much of in GCW, and that is Brock Lesnar being absolutely dominated. The fans didn't like it, but Booker's strategy going into this match was brilliant. Lesnar was a wounded dog, and Booker T is malicious enough to find that wound and rip it apart. Booker was relentless on Lesnar's ribs, stomping at them, hitting him with slams, locking in abdominal stretches and bearhugs... whatever Booker could think of, he tried. Booker became increasingly frustrated though because no matter what he did, Lesnar found a way to get his shoulder up or get to the ropes before he had to submit. Booker event went as far as pulling out moves he hasn't used in awhile, including the old Harlem Hangover, but even that wouldn't get the job done. And even more frustrating for Booker is that Lesnar kept fighting back, catching Booker with a clothesline or an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to quell the momentum. It looked like Booker was going to win this match though as he had Lesnar all set up for the Axe Kick, but Lesnar scooped Booker up and planted him with the F-5. Good morning, good afternoon, goodnight.

Brock Lesnar pinned Booker T with the F-5 in 0:18:25.
Rating: **** ¾
(Brock Lesnar retained the GCW World Heavyweight Title.)

Brock Lesnar is still the World Heavyweight champion but this was the closest he's been to losing it since his reign started. The fans in Indianapolis gave both men a standing ovation for their efforts. I for one would love to see these two go at it one more time.

Match #6
MAIN EVENT
30-man Deadly Draw
Winner receives a World Heavyweight Title shot at Super Cade
We knew Brock Lesnar had already punched his ticket for Super Cade, but he would have to wait to see which of these 30 men would be challenging him in the main event for the richest prize in the game. The man who would have the worst odds would be Frankie Kazarian, who drew the dreaded #1. #2 was no better though, and the crowd exploded when the familiar music of THE HEARTBREAK KID hit and out came... not Shawn Michaels? The fans were highly disappointed when someone entirely different came out, someone referring to themselves as HB Cade was out instead, doing his best Shawn Michaels impression. The crowd booed even more when a dumbfounded Kazarian was dumped out of the ring by Cade in a mere 10 seconds! Cade spent the next minute or so doing familiar HBK mannerisms. His life became increasingly unhappy though when #3 was JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD, the Intercontinental champion, came out and was not as all amused by Cade's antics, nearly taking his head off with the Stock Market Crash, a snap suplex, and boom, Cade was out of the ring as well.

One of the newest superstars in GCW was #4 in the turncoat Christian. Christian fooled everyone, especially Matt Hardy, when he aligned with his brother Edge earlier tonight. The Deadly Draw was another story, and what better way for Christian debut than if he could win and go on to Super Cade. It wasn't looking good off the bat as JBL bounced him around the ring until #5 entered, Stevie Richards. Big Stevie Cool and Christian worked together as JBL was the bigger threat, but the self-proclaimed Wrestling God was a bruiser, knocking them both around the ring. One of the favorites to win, Randy Orton, was #6 and he came to the ring just as JBL was eliminating Christian as ending his chances for a big debut.

Orton immediately looked to forge an alliance with JBL, knowing that drawing such an early number vastly hurt his chances at winning the whole thing. Orton and JBL have had tons of issues in the past few months though, so their alliance lasted only long enough to hit Richards with a double shoulderblock before Orton tried to get the jump on the IC champ. JBL shrugged that off pretty quick with a fall away slam and a huge boot to Orton's head before he caught Orton charging at him and sent him to the floor with a backdrop! Orton was considered a favorite in this match so it was shocking to see him eliminated so quickly. CM Punk was #7, and much like everyone else to this point, he didn't fair much better against JBL. It didn't help that he was still suffering the ill effects of Christopher Daniels' Angel's Wings from earlier, and it didn't take long for the IC champion to eliminate the new X champion. JBL made a huge mistake though, and after eliminating 4 wrestlers, he took a bit of time to celebrate, forgetting that Stevie Richards was still lurking. Big mistake as Stevie dropkicked JBL from behind and sent him to the floor! The crowd popped huge as the usually hapless Stevie Richards had eliminated JBL! JBL tried to get back in the ring, but officials kept him out and sent him to the back.

It wasn't about to get easier for Stevie though as Lance Hoyt was out next, another big powerful man. Hoyt came out a house of fire, knocking Stevie down with repeated clotheslines and a big boot. Hoyt picked Stevie up over his head in a Gorilla press to throw him over the top, but Stevie slid down and saved himself. Hoyt went for one more clothesline, but Stevie ducked, caught Hoyt with a clothesline of his own that sent Hoyt to the floor! Even Stevie Richards looked shocked that he made his second elimination of the match. He was in for one more rude awakening though as the next man out was the former World champion and a previous winner of Deadly Draw, CHRIS BENOIT. The Crippler lit Stevie up with chops right away and a trifecta of German suplexes. Benoit went up top presumably for the swandive headbutt, but we didn't get to see as in probably the biggest shock of the night, Richards was up on his feet, shook the ropes, and Benoit fell to the floor. Stevie Richards had eliminated CHRIS BENOIT. The crowd was in disbelief, but no one was more shocked than Benoit himself. Benoit essentially snapped, jumping back in the ring and taking Richards apart, hitting him with several German suplexes and locking him in the Crippler Crossface. Though Benoit has a right to be upset, most believed this response to be out of line. Richards was incapacitated and was easily eliminating by the #10 entrant, D-Ray 3000. Despite how his night ended, an impressive showing for Stevie Richards.

#11 was Christopher Daniels and truthfully, he didn't seem like he was fully into it after losing the X Title to CM Punk earlier in the show. He was off his game and didn't ever get out of the blocks in this one, making a couple simple mistakes before being eliminated by D-Ray 3000 in yet another surprise. This had been a strange Deadly Draw so far, with wrestlers like Stevie Richards and D-Ray 3000 being opportunistic and doing quite well. D-Ray was standing alone until Ken Doane was out at #12, but as had been the theme of the night, he didn't last long either as D-Ray outsmarted him to get him on the apron and then took him down with a big side kick that from the Teen Phenom to the concrete. #13 was Rob Van Dam, and he received a huge pop, especially when he wasted no time in putting D-Ray on the floor for yet another quick elimination.

This match had a really strange pace to it as wrestlers were making quick eliminations to save their energy, which is sound strategy, but not exactly the most exciting thing in the world to watch. Unfortunately, this trend continued when Paul Burchill came out as #14 and did the exact same thing, hitting RVD with the Move With No Name before sending him to the floor. The fans were getting restless and booing over the pacing, but guys like Burchill didn't care because they had aspirations of main eventing Super Cade. The ring finally began to fill a little bit as Kid Kash, Bobby Lashley, and Rey Mysterio Jr. entered the ring. Lashley went right for Mysterio when he came in the ring, remembering that it was Mysterio that eliminated Lashley from a battle royal a few weeks back. For some reason, JBL returned to the ring, trying to direct his enforcer in the ring. We would see that he wasn't really doing that at all though, as while Lashley was trying to catch Mysterio in the ring, JBL jumped on the apron. Mysterio caught Lashley in the back with a springboard dropkick as JBL was "accidentally" pulling on the ropes, causing Lashley to fly out of the ring and out of the match! Luckily for JBL, Lashley didn't see what happened, but JBL had better be careful or he is going to find himself on the wrong side of an ass kicking.

This left Mysterio, Kash, and Burchill in the ring, and they were soon joined by "The Manbeast" Rhyno. Kash caught Rhyno with a kick when he entered the ring, but Rhyno shrugged it off and sent his much smaller adversary to the floor with a massive Discus Punch. The ring finally started to fill up properly as Monty Brown came in at #19 and Harry Smith at #20. Brown had already wrestled a tough match earlier, but he got a good draw and was very motivated, taking shots at everyone in the ring and having quite the confrontation with Rhyno as well as those two immovable objects collided. Then came #21 and someone we didn't recognize came out, wearing a white leisure suit complete with overwhelming white hat. He introduced himself as ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRADA and he introduced everyone to the newest wrestler in GCW... "The Samoan Bulldozer" Umaga! This savage came in the ring and everyone just stared like they didn't know what to do with him. Umaga had intentions on hurting anyone and everyone he could get his hands on. He absolutely dominated everyone in the ring, leveling everyone with vicious side kicks, Samoan drops, and a vicious thumb to the throat that we found out is called the Samoan Spike. To give you an idea of how brutal this beast was, Monty Brown stood up to him and could barely phase him before Umaga wiped him out with the Samoan Spike. During the chaos, Paul Burchill tossed Harry Smith out of the ring and to the floor.

It was a lucky break for everyone in the ring that Umaga didn't necessarily understand the rules of the match as he was making no attempts to eliminate anyone though he easily could have. Edge came in at #22 and saw that everyone was down and made the attempt to be opportunistic as he picked up a downed Rey Mysterio in a power bomb position with intentions of tossing him to the floor. But Mysterio wasn't as injured as he was showing and quickly reversed it into a rana, sending Edge out of the ring in a hurry! Edge had expected to do much more than he did tonight, but something's that is how it goes down. Burchill tried a similar move on Mysterio just after, but Mysterio saw him coming and reversed Burchill's charge with a spinning headscissors, putting him to the locker room as well! But Mysterio was cut down quickly by a side kick from Umaga.

Hardcore Holly was #23, and he was watching Umaga's dominance from a monitor in the back. Holly didn't come alone, bringing a steel chair with him! Holly went after Umaga's skull with the chair, and destroyed him with a sickening chairshot, but Umaga was hardly even phased! Hardcore reared back and smacked him again, but Umaga kept asking for more! Though the chairshots themselves didn't do much damage, it did allow everyone ample time to gather together and team up on Umaga. It took Rhyno, Mysterio, Holly, and Monty Brown's all to get Umaga out, but they did. Umaga tore up the ringside area before heading to the back. Umaga may not have won Deadly Draw, but he certainly made an impact, and there are a lot of wrestlers in GCW who are going to be in a lot of trouble.

We were getting down to the home stretch now as AJ Styles came in at #24. Styles' time in the ring was short though as he was met with the Gore from Rhyno and dumped from the ring. Rey Mysterio Jr. had himself a great run in this match, but when you're that small in stature in a match like this, it will catch up to you, and it did here as Monty Brown finally got him out of the match. Elix Skipper had a great draw by coming out #25, and he also had a plan in mind when he grabbed the chair that Hardcore Holly had brought out earlier and used it on Holly himself. Prime Time finished Holly off with a tiger driver onto that same chair and dumped Holly out of the ring.

The crowd EXPLODED into cheers as #26 was revealed to be KURT ANGLE. No one was more focused on winning Deadly Draw than the former 2-time World champion, and he showed that by coming in and cleaning house, hitting everyone in the ring with a different suplex. Angle couldn't be stopped and the only concern was that he was going too fast and exerting too much energy as there were still a few wrestlers left to go. Shark Boy came in at #27 followed by Gregory Helms at #28. This was also when Shark Boy made his exit courtesy of Elix Skipper, while Skipper himself wasn't long for the ring thanks to Rhyno. This got us to #29, and as far as many people were concerned this match was over as it was ABYSS. Abyss couldn't have asked for a better draw than that and with him being this fresh, who was going to be able to throw him out? Helms was ready to start fighting him, but this allowed Rhyno to pick him up in a torture rack and dump him over the top rope.

The ring was filled with some of the top stars in GCW, including Abyss, Kurt Angle, Rhyno, and Monty Brown. Any of these four men would make an excellent challenger for Brock Lesnar at Super Cade. All four men picked a corner and the tension could be cut with a night. During this great moment, it was forgotten that there was still one more competitor left to come to the ring as at #30 was The Blue Meanie! Meanie was jumping around and dancing as he got in the ring, continuing to do his stupid dance. In his excitement over being #30, he didn't realize that he was in the middle of the lion's den. The look on the Meanie's face when he realized what was happening was priceless, especially when Angle picked him up and dropped him with the Angle Slam. Rhyno was next as he hit him with the Gore, followed by Abyss hitting the Black Hole Slam. Meanie was put out of his misery after Brown nailed him with the Pounce and mercifully threw him out of the ring.

We were down to the final four officially now, and they paired off as Rhyno went after Angle and Abyss went at the Alpha Male. Rhyno trapped Angle in the corner and went to work while the fresh Abyss was having his way with Brown. Rhyno was close to eliminating Angle while Abyss was doing the same to the Alpha Male. Brown wasn't out of it yet though as he still had the wherewithal to get out of the way as Abyss went for a big boot. In an unlucky turn of events for Abyss, he got hung up on the top rope which let Brown power behind him and dump him to the floor. Just three men left now, and one of them was almost out as Rhyno had Angle ¾ of the way out. Brown was looking to sneak up behind the two and throw them out, but Rhyno saw him coming and drilled him with the Gore! The crowd popped huge as Rhyno looked to be in great position to actually win this match, but taking his eyes off of Angle was a huge mistake as Angle got a burst of energy, grabbed Rhyno by the back of the head and sent him flying to the floor! Rhyno received a great round of applause for his performance tonight, but he came up just a bit short.

Two men left, and you couldn't ask for two better than Kurt Angle and Monty Brown. Ironically, both of these men are former World Tag Team champion partners with Brock Lesnar, and whoever wins this will be going on to face Lesnar at Super Cade. The sold out crowd in Indianapolis was on its feet as these two went at it toe-to-toe. Both men kept exchanging lefts and rights until Angle cut him off with a knee to the gut. Angle hit the ropes, but Brown grabbed him with a sidewalk slam. The Alpha Male was poised to win the match setting Angle up for the Pounce, but when he charged in the Olympic champion reversed it and locked in the Ankle Lock. Brown was screaming in pain as Angle had the hold locked in like a vice. Brown tapped out, but of course in this match there are no submissions. Brown mustered up some strength and crawled his way up the ropes, getting himself to his feet while Angle still had his foot. Brown propelled his body over the top rope, taking Angle with him. Angle nearly hit the floor but he held on and pulled himself onto the apron. Brown was back in the ring and hit the far ropes, looking to Pounce angle to the hard concrete below, but Angle countered with a shoulder to the gut. Angle showed great power by reaching over the ropes and grabbing Brown and Angle Slamming Brown over the top to the floor, and this one was over!

A standing ovation and a trip to Super Cade were Kurt Angle's award for a great performance. Now at Super Cade it will be a rematch of last year's main event, Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle! The pay-per-view went off the air with Kurt Angle celebrating his victory in the ring. See you tomorrow at Explosion!
MatteusPosted on 04/04/08 at 21:41:13

Haaaa!!  MNM wins it!  I have to admit, I'm surprised they got the belts.  Is that dissencion between Haas and Benjamin after the bell?  Hrmmm...

I LOVE Punk as X champ.  This is an interesting angle with the looks of a double turn in the works.  Guess I'll wait and see.

WHOA!  I was expecting Jeff, but Christian's good too.  (Reads on)  So much for that... I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed it was all a swerve.  But hopefully maybe this will lead to some

Good decisive win for JBL to retain the IC title.  I like that just because it gives the fans a champ they hate but also gives more credence to his claim of being the best IC champion ever...

GREAT match between Lesnar an Book.  You even had ME believing that Booker could win the match, and maybe would.  But Brock had to win it... great showing though.  Brock looks vulnerable all of a sudden.  I like this :)

I LOLed when you said "his brother Edge", referring to Christian.  Did WWE ever disavow that in storyline terms?  Uncerimonious bout for Christian...

Down to the final four and I'm thinking Brown and Angle as the final two and I'm picking Brown to go to Super Cade (though the thought of HB Cade headlining Super Cade... priceless).

Aaaaaaaah... so close!!!  Looks like Angle-Lesnar II at Super Cade.  One year anniversary... can't wait!

Great show, Ryan!!  I'm thinking of posting some UW stuff again... you up for it?
Snabbit888Posted on 04/04/08 at 23:16:34

WWE never officially said, "Oh, turns out they weren't really brothers afterall."  They just simply started referring to Edge and Christian as former tag champs, etc.  The angle is going somewhere, I just don't know quite where yet (I have two possible scenarios that I can't decide if I want to use or not).

I was very happy with how Lesnar/Booker turned out.  When I originally decided to do that as the World Title match, I had low expectations basically because Booker had pretty much been floundering in the midcard for about a year or so TNM time.  I think I was able to establish him as a legit main eventer again in GCW and I have some future plans for him that will keep him relevant for sure.

I liked how Deadly Draw ended, but I wasn't happy with how the match played out.  I usually will let TNM to my booking for me on that (minus the winner) and make some changes here and there as I deem necessary.  It kind of boned be this time in that way too many wrestlers would enter the ring and get tossed immediately.  Ah well... you win some, you lose some.

And yes, bring on some UW, though it's been forever, I'll need a bit of refresher, son.

Looks like your tag title scene is like a game of hot potato. Although, it's not a bad thing per se. It basically makes it seem like a title match is very important for an audience because the titles could change at any moment.

Daniels was screwed out of the X Title by Mike "Blind" Chioda. CM Punk deserved the result after the match.

Nice to see Matt Hardy also get screwed by Christian. It only builds up sympathy for him in his fight against Edge.

Brock Lesnar has built himself a nice title reign.

That's really cool how you booked Angle to win Deadly Draw in a rematch against Lesnar. I have no idea how that's going to work out at this point.

Yeah, the tag titles have been changing hands a lot, but that's a general rule with tag titles, it seems.  I'm hoping to find some stability with the division though.  There's going to be some upheaval in the division soon.

Brock Lesnar's title reign is quickly approaching a year.  He's at 10 months now.  I like one thing WWE has done in recent years which is try to establish longer quality title reigns (or the World Title level anyway).  That's what I'm looking to do with GCW.  I'm also going to be cutting 6 PPVs a year to make the PPVs more special and thus if there's a title match, it means a lot.

Good idea. I don't like monthly pay per views. Sure, maybe you lose some revenue in the short term, but in the long term, I think its a wise investment because you can probably get more buys that way.

That, and I'm two years behind real time and would like to get a bit closer if possible. :)
