GWA Day of the Dead - 10/30/2005

AzraelPosted on 03/30/08 at 00:27:37

City: Dallas, TX
Venue: Reunion Arena

(Welcome to Day of the Dead! Tonight, the GWA World Title will be defended in the first ever Gauntlet Match! Jerry Lynn will face CIMA in a grudge match! The Rock will face Steve Corino and much more! The pay-per-view, however, starts with a pretaped video from the Dynasty entering the arena this afternoon.)

Steve Corino: Tonight, Rock, is the night. Tonight is the night that you're revealed as the fraud you are. You say you're a wrestler. You say you're going to whip my ass. But that's not the case at all. You see Rock, tonight, you're going face-to-face with the King of Old School Steve Corino. And while you may scoff at that, what it means is that in the ring tonight, you are facing a consummate wrestling. Unlike some people, I haven't run away to acting the first chance I got. The King of Old School Steve Corino spent his time studying the Flairs, studying the Andersons, studying the Briscoes, all to be the greatest wrestler that this world has ever seen. That's what you're in for tonight. That is what you're going to see. And that is why at the end of the night, you will refer to me...as God.

AJ Styles: And tonight, AJ Styles takes his rightful place in the main event. It may be a Gauntlet match, and I may be one of the first two men in the ring, but that doesn't matter. I am the most athletic man on the roster, I make the extraordinary seem ordinary. So if I have to wrestle ten more minutes...twenty more minutes...than the next guy, that's OK. I'm good for it. The real question is which one of you guys can beat me. I can brawl, I can take to the air, I can wrestle on the mat, I'm the complete package. And pretty soon, I'll be World champion too.

Christian: And as for you Lance Storm, you've bit off a lot more than you can chew. It wasn't anything personal when you couldn't make the Dynasty. You just didn't measure up. You couldn't meet our standard. And there's nothing wrong with that. Not a lot of people can. But if you want to challenge us so badly, allow me to show you exactly why we're at the top of the sport of wrestling while you're somewhere in the middle.

(We then go to the ring for the first match tonight. "Tell Me Why" by Paul Van Dyk plays as Liquid Sticks and Delirious walk down the aisle. Deranged and Spanky are wary of Delirious, who hasn't exactly shown himself to be of stable mind during his tenure in the GWA. They were looking for a partner and Kanyon suggested Delirious as he already had reservations for a beachside resort tonight. Either way, Deranged and Spanky are always looking to get a victory over the SAT and especially their partner, the GWA Cruiserweight Champion, Red.

They step through the ropes as "Edge of the Earth" by 30 Seconds to Mars plays, bringing out the SAT and Red. The SAT and Liquid Sticks have been feuding for months now, always getting chipshots at each other. Liquid Sticks won a tag match last week through cheating, which directly led to this challenge of a Scramble match. The Amazing Red is always ready to help out the SAT and agreed to join them. They enter the ring and the match is on.)

[Liquid Sticks and Delirious vs. The Spanish Announce Team and Red]

The bell rings and Delirious goes nuts yelling and running around the ring, making both Deranged and Spanky leave the ring. Joel and Red also step outside the ropes, so we're starting with Delirious and Jose. Jose waits for a break in Delirious's gallop to lockup, but instead Delirious stops and slaps him in the face. Jose is in shock, but throws a right hand which is blocked and Delirious responds with another slap to the face. He then starts running again with Jose running after him. They run around the ring a couple times until Delirious stops in his tracks and takes Jose down with a hiptoss. Jose gets up quickly, but Delirious meets him with a dropkick and tags in Deranged. Both men stomp away at Jose, who covers up from most of the blows. Delirious leaves the ring and Deranged brings Jose up to his feet. He whips him into the ropes, but puts his head down too early and gets kicked in the head. He pops up, but Jose knocks him down with a dropkick to send him out of the ring. Jose tries to follow up with a plancha, but Spanky runs in from behind and hits him with a leg lariat to the back of the head. Jose slumps to the mat and Spanky grabs him to attempt the Sliced Bread #2. Spanky runs up the corner, but Jose shoves him over the top to prevent him from hitting the move. Jose runs over and tags in Red, who comes in and lays into Spanky with and left and right handed slaps. He whips him into the ropes and tosses him in the air, but Spanky lands on his feet behind Red. Red turns around and tries to hit Spanky with a spin kick, which misses, allowing Spanky to drop him on his neck with a back suplex. Red gets up slowly and Spanky rocks him with a string of forearms. He runs into the ropes, but Red backdrops him over the top, making Spanky land on the apron. Red takes a forearm from Spanky, but responds with a dropkick to knock Spanky to the floor. Red runs into the ropes to dive onto Spanky, but Delirious runs in, hitting him with a hard lariat. He makes the cover but only gets two. Delirious then gets on top of Red and rains down on him with a series of punches to the head, knocking Red woozy. The ref forces Delirious to break, but Delirious immediately jumps on Red with a chokehold. He lets go at the count of four and Red scrambles to the corner to catch his breath. Delirious follows in and tries to drag Red out of the corner, but Red kicks him off. Delirious backs up and charges into the corner, but Red moves out of the way causing Delirious to stagger backward. Red sweeps Delirious and leaves the ring, allowing Joel to come in with a series of stomps. Joel runs into the ropes and knocks Deranged off the apron. Spanky takes a swing at Joel, but Joel charges at Delirious. Delirious misses with a lariat attempt and again on Joel's way back. Joel then dives out of the ring with a tope suicida onto Deranged! Delirious looks at the dive and tugs on his mask, then turns around, allowing Red to drop him with a springboard swinging DDT. Delirious slides out of the ring, but Red dives on him with a springboard plancha! Jose and Spanky reenter the ring and trade a series of forearms with each other. Both men stagger back and charge forward, hitting each other with a clothesline. Both men are down, but Joel pulls Jose out of the ring and jumps in himself. He whips Spanky into the ropes and catches him with a powerslam. He makes a cover, but Spanky gets out at two. Joel brings Spanky to his feet and whips him into the ropes, where Deranged tags himself in. Joel brings Spanky to the mat with a backdrop, but Deranged takes the opportunity to hit him from behind with a springboard dropkick. Joel slides out of the ring and Red hops in.

Red knocks Deranged down with a spinning leg lariat immediately. He whips him into the ropes, but Deranged holds on and slides out of the ring, allowing Delirious to enter. Red attacks him with forearms to the head, but Delirious keels him over with a kneesmash and then hits him repeatedly with forearms to the back until Red is left slumped in the corner. Delirious then charges in with the Panic Attack knee strike, but Red moves out of the way, stunning Delirious. Red jumps off the top with a springboard spinning leg lariat, but Delirious moves out of the way and quickly jumps on Red, applying the Cobra Stretch! Red fights the pain, but Joel comes in and breaks it. Red slowly rolls out of the ring as Joel comes in and stomps Delirious repeatedly before clotheslining him over the top rope. Joel turns around only to be knocked out of the ring himself via a Spanky superkick. Jose comes in, but Spanky catches him with a leg lariat. Spanky chokes Jose for a few seconds, then brings him up and runs into the corner for the Sliced Bread. Jose, however, manages to crotch Spanky on the top rope and then shake the ropes until he falls back in. Spanky gets up slowly and Jose puts him down with a DDT. He makes the cover, but Delirious breaks up the pin. The ref tells him to leave, so he picks up Spanky and tosses him out of the ring to the floor. Jose rolls out as well and Red drops him with a flying dropkick. Delirious gets up slowly allowing Red to run into the ropes and drop him with the Code Red! Delirious rolls out of the ring as Red runs and dives on the rising Spanky with a somersault plancha. Joel enters the ring to dive on Delirious, but Deranged pops him from the ring apron. Deranged climbs to the top and jumps off with a dropkick, but Jose runs to Joel's rescue and the Maximos catch him. They then toss him in the air, making Deranged land on his face. Deranged pops up holding his nose, but the Maximos lift him up and place him on the turnbuckle. They both climb to the second rope and bring him to the mat with the Spanish Fly! Joel makes the cover for three.

Scramble Match:
The Spanish Announce Team and the Amazing Red defeated Liquid Sticks and Delirious when Joel pinned Deranged after the Spanish Fly in 0:10:57.
Rating: ***

The SAT and Red celebrate in the ring after this hard fought victory. Delirious and Liquid Sticks put up a good fight, but a little teamwork from the Maximos was the difference in this match. Spanky helps Deranged to the back and they vow revenge on the Maximos while they just leave Delirious, who sits by ringside rocking back and forth.

(From the match, we cut to Lance Storm in the back.)

Lance Storm: If I could be serious for a minute, I'd like to talk to you Christian. I'd like to thank you for accepting my challenge. I'd expected you four to try and run from me instead of taking your beatings head on, but you didn't. I underestimated you and for that I'm sorry. But when we step in the ring, I'd like to say it's going to be all business. But we both know that's not the case. This is decidedly personal. And maybe you don't include Jericho as a member anymore, but that doesn't matter. My battle with him turned into my battle with you. And it won't end until I'm the one left standing.

(We then cut to the GWA T.V. champion, Chavo Guerrero Jr..)

Chavo Guerrero Jr: Edge, you've talked a lot about how you're definitely going to get your belt back tonight. You've said that I'm just holding onto it while you healed up. But you're wrong. I earned this title. Maybe I didn't beat you, but I did beat Rhyno and Lance Storm to get it. And I've defended it ever since. Tonight's going to be no different. Tonight, I'll show you just why I'm a champion and tonight, I'll show you exactly what means to be a Guerrero.

("The Hollow" by A Perfect Circle plays as Lance Storm walks down the aisle. The fans have certainly gotten behind him in the past few weeks as he's been taking on the Dynasty. He challenged any member of the Dynasty to a match for this pay-per-view and Christian, surprisingly, was the man to accept. Storm's been on a roll recently too as he's coming off a hard-fought losing effort against the World Champion, Kurt Angle. He steps through the ropes and waits for his opponent.

"God Hates a Coward" by Tomahawk then plays as Christian walks down the aisle, beating his chest. With his tag team partner, AJ Styles, in the Gauntlet match later tonight, Christian was freed up to answer Storm's challenge for tonight. He's going to try to pick up a big singles victory tonight.)

[Lance Storm vs. Christian]

Christian enters the ring and Storm immediately jumps on him with stomps to the back of the head. Christian slowly manages to get to his feet, but Storm whips him into the ropes, knocking him down with a leg lariat. Christian struggles up again to his feet, and takes some forearms from Storm. Storm brings him to a standing base, but Christian immediately pokes him in the eyes to get the advantage. He rocks Storm with a couple punches, then pulls him over to the ropes and chokes him using the ropes as leverage. He eventually breaks it and sledges Storm in the back of the head to knock him to the mat. Storm manages to get to his feet, but Christian pushes him into the corner and lays into him with some chops. Christian whips Storm into the ropes, but Storm comes back to knock him down with a forearm. Christian pops up only to be taken to the mat with a hiptoss. Christian gets up once more only to be armdragged to the mat. Storm keeps the armbar to maintain advantage and both men get to their feet. Storm tries to apply more pressure, but Christian pokes him in the eye to break the hold and then slugs him in the face with a forearm. He hits more chops and punches to force Storm into the corner and then snap mares him out, smacking him in the back with a stiff kick. Storm tries to get up, but Christian connects with a series of stomps to keep him on the mat. Christian drops another forearm, but Storm gets to a knee and punches him in the stomach. They trade punches back and forth until Storm rocks him with a forearm. He runs into the ropes to knock Christian down with a clothesline, but Christian ducks and applies a sleeper. Storm fights it, but Christian keeps it applied tightly, driving Storm to one knee. Storm starts to fight back with elbows to the stomach, but Christian keeps the hold applied and brings Storm to the mat. The ref checks to see if Storm's knocked out. He lifts the arm once and it falls. Twice and it falls. Three times...Storm keeps the arm up and powers to his feet. Storm hits Christian with elbows until he's free then runs into the ropes, but Christian steps out of the way and puts him in another sleeper. Storm immediately rolls through and lifts Christian, taking him down with a back suplex. Christian gets up slowly and Storm stuns him with a jawbreaker before whipping him into the ropes to hit him with a dropkick. Christian gets up slowly allowing Storm to knock him down with an enzuigiri. Storm makes a cover for a two count. Storm goes to the apron and waits for Christian to get to his feet. He springboards to the top rope, but Christian dives to shake the rope, making Storm fall on his face. Christian brings Storm to his feet and drives him to the mat with an inverted DDT, covering for a near fall. He calls for the end and brings Storm up for the Unprettier. He starts the move, but Storm pushes Christian off into the corner. Christian staggers back, allowing Storm to spin him around and power bomb him to the mat. He keeps the pin, but Christian kicks out for a near fall. However, Storm grabs one of Christian's legs and turns him over to the Straight Shooter! Christian tries to get to the ropes, but Storm pulls him toward the center of the ring and sits down, forcing Christian to tap out.

Lance Storm made Christian submit to the Straight Shooter in 0:08:21.
Rating: *** 1/4

Lance Storm has beaten Christian to get one over on the Dynasty! Storm raises his arms in the air, but then leaves the ring to avoid a charging Rhyno from the back. Rhyno slides in the ring and kicks at the ropes in Storm's direction as Storm hops over the guardrail. He raises his arms in the air to taunt Christian and Rhyno, then heads through the crowd to leave. The feud between Storm and the Dynasty is definitely only beginning.

We go to the back with Jerry Lynn.

Jerry Lynn: I've waited for this night for so long. I've been thinking about this since I found myself in a hospital bed with my knee busted. I've been thinking about this night each and every time I went through the pain of rehab. I thought about this night when I came back to the GWA and tried to make CIMA feel my vengeance, and I definitely dreamed of it when I failed. Each and every move I've made since then has led to tonight. Jerry Lynn vs. CIMA. And best of all, the rules are relaxed. Know what that means CIMA? It means that we have a referee that will let things go. If I don't try to shoot you and we stay in the ringside area, it's pretty much anything goes. And that's exactly how I like it. Because tonight CIMA, I may not try to kill you, but you will hurt. You will hurt for a long time. I'm going to make sure that you go through exactly what I went through when you attacked me for no reason all those months ago. I'm going to make sure that tonight is a night that lasts in your nightmares forever. And most of all, I'm going to make sure that your career will never be the same.

("Ticks & Leeches" by Tool plays as Edge walks to the entryway. Through a code of winning through any means necessary, Edge defended the T.V. Title on every GWA card and held onto the title for four months before being injured by Rhyno. Now that he's returned from the injury, he's looking to regain the title from the man who won it after him, Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo declined to just hand him the title, so now he's out to win it in the ring. Edge slides under the bottom rope and stands on the middle turnbuckle before dropping to the mat to await his opponent.

"Daylight" by Aesop Rock then plays as Chavo Guerrero Jr. walks down the aisle holding the T.V. Title. After winning the title in a three way dance involving Lance Storm and Rhyno, Chavo's defended the belt ably. Tonight may be his toughest test yet against the former champion. He's vowed to fight it as a Guerrero. He steps through the ropes and holds up the title. The ref takes it and hands it to the timekeeper and the bell rings.)

[Edge vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.]

They lock up and Edge hits Chavo with a knee to the stomach to knock him to a knee before clubbing him repeatedly with forearms to the back. Chavo tries to get away, but Edge rolls him up in an inside cradle, holding onto the tights. Chavo gets a shoulder up anyway and gets to his feet, but Edge knocks him down with a clothesline. He starts to choke Chavo, but the ref breaks it up. Edge argues with him, but that allows Chavo to roll Edge up with a cradle, putting his feet on the ropes. Edge kicks out for a near fall and both men get to their feet. Chavo scores with a couple European uppercuts to knock Edge into the ropes and then whips him across, bringing him down with a backdrop. Edge gets up slowly and Chavo pops him with a dropkick, sending Edge scurrying out of the ring. Chavo follows, but Edge runs away from him and reenters the ring. Chavo follows and hits Edge from behind with an axhandle. He keeps clubbing away at Edge, but Edge responds with punches of his own. Both men get to their feet and trade blows until Chavo pokes Edge in the eye. The ref reprimands Chavo, who whips Edge into the ropes, but Edge reverses it and connects with a kick to the head. Chavo hits the mat hard, but Edge quickly sits him up and smacks him in the back with a hard kick. Chavo rolls to the corner, but Edge follows him and chokes him with his boot until the ref pulls him away. Chavo tries to catch his breath, allowing Edge to come back and stomp at him repeatedly. He pulls him out of the corner and makes a cover, but Chavo gets a shoulder up in time. He brings Chavo to his feet and lifts him on his shoulders, but Chavo slides down his back. Edge turns around into some punches from Chavo, but he blocks one and kicks him in the midsection. He grabs him and goes for the Edge-a-cution, but Chavo blocks it and breaks free of his grasp. Edge charges but Chavo grabs him and hits a gutbuster before bringing him up and hitting a vertical suplex. He swings his hips and brings Edge up, hitting another suplex. He swings his hips again and completes the Three Amigos. He then climbs to the top rope and jumps off with a frog splash, but Edge rolls out of the way! Chavo gets up slowly as Edge charges toward him for a spear, but Chavo jumps out of the way, leaving Edge to fly out of the ring to the floor. He regains his bearings and grabs a chair before sliding in the ring. The ref grabs the chair before Edge can swing it, but when he turns to throw the chair out, Edge darts to the corner and starts to untie the turnbuckle pad. The ref sees it and drops the chair in order to stop Edge. Edge gets frustrated, but Chavo picks up the chair. Edge backs off, but Chavo slams it on the mat before tossing it to Edge. Edge catches it and Chavo falls to the mat like he's been shot. Edge is puzzled, but the ref turns around and surmises that Edge should be disqualified.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Edge by disqualification in 0:08:14.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Chavo Guerrero Jr. retained the GWA T.V. Title.)

Chavo just outsmarted Edge to retain the T.V. Title! Edge is pleading his case, but with his history, the referee isn't listening to him. Chavo meanwhile rolls out of the ring and hops up to get the title back from the timekeeper then walks up the ramp. He notices the ref looking at him and holds his head in mock pain as Edge fumes at him.

We go from there to the back where Jake Roberts is standing by with Halloween and Damien 666 behind him.

Jake Roberts: So tell me Young Lions? Have you put your affairs in order? Have you prepared yourselves for what will happen once this match is over? Or are you clinging to a fool's hope? The idea that you can deny me what I want. Do you think you can win tonight? Do you think you can deny me my permanence? That isn't the case. Do you want examples? How about Tajiri. A man going about his business until we came into his life. After that, he's savagely beaten in every arena he dares to step foot in. And why? Just because he was there. No matter how many people have to be sacrificed, how many lives have to be ruined, how many warm, happy memories have to be sullied, I will remembered. We will be remembered. Our names will not fade into the night. And this is the way that it has to be done. We haven't been handed anything before and we don't plan to now. And as a result of that, Joey Matthews...Christian York, there's no fairy tale ending here. The young prince won't slay the dragon and save the princess. The young prince will get eaten. Trust me...

(From there, the camera cuts to Taz who has some comments.)

Taz: Allow me to say this: Kurt Angle is a lucky man. Six weeks ago, we stood across from other and fought for the GWA North American Title. And unfortunately, I applied the Tazmission a few inches too close to the corner and Angle rolled me up and pinned me. Fine, that night he got the win. But you thought you were rid of me, didn't you Kurt? But of course you were wrong. The entire roster was in a Royal Rumble to decide who will be in this Gauntlet match and I entered toward the beginning. That means I went through everybody. All of you were just victims! And that's not going to change tonight. Last time, I was a foot...inches away from winning the title. Tonight, I fight for a different belt, and the outcome will be different too. So to the guys in the match tonight and especially to you Kurt: beat me if you can, survive if I let you.

("Lounge Act" by Nirvana plays as the Young Lions, Joey Matthews and Christian York run down the aisle, slapping hands with the fans. At Fallout, the Young Lions were in a scramble match until Mexico's Most Wanted ambushed them and brawled with them all the way to the back, leaving York with minor injuries. The Lions are trying to get their revenge tonight. They hop through the ropes and stand on the turnbuckle for their opponents.

"Chinga Tu Madre" by Brujeria then plays as Mexico's Most Wanted walk down the aisle alongside Jake Roberts. Roberts is annoyed at the attention that the Lions get and wants to destroy them in order to ensure that he'll be remembered. Mexico's Most Wanted have had violent battles with a number of teams in the GWA including Chris Benoit and Ken Shamrock, the SAT, Quiet Storm and Tajiri and the Havana Pitbulls. Will the Young Lions be able to beat them? Mexico's Most Wanted stop at the bottom of the ramp and spit at the Young Lions. York and Matthews nod at each other and then...)

[The Young Lions vs. Mexico's Most Wanted (w/Jake Roberts)]

Matthews and York dive onto Halloween and Damien with stereo planchas! They both punch their respective opponent repeatedly as Roberts yells at his team to get up. Matthews brings Halloween up and tries to whip him into the guardrail, but Halloween reverses, sending Matthews hard into the steel. York rakes Damien's face on the outside before bringing him up and driving him facefirst into the apron. He rolls Damien into the ring and continues punching him. Damien interrupts with a rake of the eyes and knees York in the stomach before clubbing him in the back repeatedly to send him to the mat. York struggles to get up, but Damien kicks him hard in the face and pulls him up, tossing him like a dart into the corner, making his arm connect with the steel ringpost. Damien then tags in Halloween and whips him into York, driving York's shoulder into the steel again! York rolls around in agony, but Halloween picks him up and whips him into the ropes, dropping him to the mat with a flapjack. York pops up, but Halloween runs into the ropes and drops him with a Western lariat. He makes a cover, but Matthews breaks up the pin. Halloween tags in Damien and then whips York into the ropes. He slams York to the mat with a spinebuster and Damien runs into the ropes, allowing Halloween to hiptoss him onto York. Rather than make the cover, Damien chokes York and gets a reprimand from the referee. York slowly gets up and Damien charges him, but York lifts him up and drops him on the top rope with a Hotshot. Damien rolls back toward the center of the ring as York struggles to his corner. Damien rolls over and tags in Halloween as York tags in Matthews. Matthews comes in and knocks Halloween down with a clothesline and follows it with a dropkick to Damien to knock him to the floor. Matthews slugs Halloween repeatedly in the face and ducks a wild swing from Halloween before dropping him with a German suplex. Halloween gets a shoulder up at two and Matthews climbs to the top rope. He waits for Halloween to get up, but Damien shoves him off the top rope, making him land hard on the mat. Matthews gets up slowly to get nailed by a lariat from Halloween. Halloween tags in Damien, who enters the ring and brings Matthews up, hitting an inverted atomic drop. Halloween bounces off the ropes and hits Matthews in the head with a kick to the head to knock him down. Damien makes the cover, but York breaks it up. Damien slams Matthews and then climbs to the top rope. He jumps off with a splash, but Matthews moves out of the way and Damien hits the mat hard. Matthews rolls to his corner and tags in York, who comes in and stomps Damien repeatedly. He waits for Matthews to get up and they whip Damien into the ropes, hitting him with a double dropkick. Matthews gets up and knocks Halloween off the apron and to the floor. York calls for the Train Wreck and positions Damien near the corner. Matthews climbs to the top rope, but Damien blocks the suplex attempt from York. He eventually hits him with a couple knees to the gut and gets free, then drops him with a DDT! Matthews comes off the top with a dropkick anyway and knocks Damien to the mat. He tries to get York to his feet, but Halloween comes in from behind and grabs him by the hair, tossing him out of the ring and to the floor. Halloween pulls Damien to his feet and then moves over to put York in the pendulum. Damien climbs to the top rope and jumps off with the elbow to hit the Armed Robbery! Halloween drops York and Damien covers him with one hand to score the three count.

Mexico's Most Wanted defeated the Young Lions when Damien 666 pinned York after the Armed Robbery in 0:08:09.
Rating: ** 3/4

After the match, Halloween starts choking away at York while Damien stomps at him. The ref tries to pull Halloween away, but Halloween shoves him aside. The ref comes back to pull Halloween off, but Halloween punches him in the face before lifting him in the air and dropping him with a Gorilla press! The ref rolls over in a slump as Halloween and Damien go back to work on York. Matthews enters the ring and tries to stop the beating, but just receives some blows for himself. The sea of GWA officials then hit the ring to separate Mexico's Most Wanted and the Young Lions and Roberts leads his charges to the back. There are definitely going to be some consequences for Halloween's actions. What will they be?

We go from that chaos to Ken Shamrock in the back.

Ken Shamrock: A few weeks ago, there was a Royal Rumble, with just about everyone in the GWA in it. And when it was over, when there was just one man remaining, do you know who it was? It was me. And that's exactly what'll happen tonight. I'm not afraid of anybody in the GWA or in the world, but the world's afraid of me. And why shouldn't they be? I've gone into a ring and I've made grown men cry in less than a minute. And that's what you should all remember. When I'm in the ring, bad things can happen at any second. Tonight, I'm making sure that my every motion is dedicated to winning the World Title. And if I knock out all your teeth, oh well.

(The lights go out and a spotlight roams the crowd as "O Fortuna" by Therion plays. Eventually, the spotlight focuses on the entryway where the King of Old School Steve Corino walks out. He jogs down the aisle as the light follows him and then enters the ring. Corino thinks the Rock is insulting wrestling by jumping to do movies whenever he gets a chance and wants to increase his name in wrestling by beating him tonight.

"This Means War!!" by Busta Rhymes plays as the Rock walks down the aisle. The Rock is angry that Corino interfered in his match against Chris Jericho at Fallout, directly leading to the loss. Since then, he's been fighting against Corino and the Dynasty at every opportunity. A win here would show that the Rock is not only the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, but one of the best inside the ring as well. That could possibly lead to a World Title shot. The Rock enters the ring and doesn't bother to salute the fans, but instead gets right in the face of Corino.)

[Steve Corino vs. The Rock]

Corino jaws with the Rock to start, but the Rock pops him in the face with right hands. Corino staggers back and the Rock keeps up with the punches, forcing him to the ropes. He goes for the spit punch, but Corino moves out of the way and catches his breath in the corner. The Rock follows, but Corino kicks him in the stomach and shoves him into the corner. He connects with a hard chop and follows it up with another one. The Rock starts to regain his composure so Corino hits him in the face with a forearm and whips him across the ring to the other corner. Corino follows, but the Rock comes out with a clothesline to knock him down. Corino gets up slowly and the Rock smacks him with more punches before a big right hand knocks him down. Corino gets up in a daze, allowing the Rock to push him into the ropes and whip him into the ropes, throwing him to the mat with a belly-to-belly suplex. Corino gets up slowly, but the Rock charges him, allowing Corino to drop him on the top rope with a Hotshot. The Rock goes down clutching his neck while Corino regains his breath. Both men get up slowly and Corino quickly rakes him in the eyes to get advantage. The Rock staggers away, but Corino clubs him in the back to make him drop to the mat. He brings the Rock to the middle rope and chokes him for a few seconds, then breaks and runs into the ropes before driving all of his weight onto the Rock's back. The Rock falls to the mat and Corino makes a cover for two. He sits the Rock up and rakes at his face violently to make him roll around in pain. The Rock tries to get up, but Corino is there to meet him with stomps to the face. He brings the Rock to his feet and whips him into the ropes, missing with a back elbow. The Rock comes back and connects with a clothesline. Corino gets up quickly only to be knocked back down from a right hand. Corino gets up and scrambles to the ropes, but the Rock pulls him out by the legs and then stomps on the small of his back. Corino rolls away and begs off, but then pokes the Rock in the eye when he gets closer. The Rock staggers back allowing Corino to jump up quickly and connect with a leg lariat. He makes a cover, but the Rock kicks out again. Unsatisfied with that, Corino pulls the Rock up and wraps him in an abdominal stretch. The Rock struggles to get free, but Corino grabs onto the top rope for added leverage. When the ref looks over, however, he lets go and elbows the Rock in the ribs. However, that allows the Rock to bring him down with a hiptoss. Corino gets up slowly and charges the Rock, but the Rock grabs him by the back of the head and tosses him over the top to the floor! Corino splats hard on the floor, but the Rock leans against the top rope rather than take advantage. Corino reenters the ring and the Rock meets him by stomping on his head repeatedly.

He then pushes the security members aside and lifts the woman over the guardrail. She hugs him and Corino lifts her up while raising his arm on the air. They go up the aisle while the Rock picks himself up off the mat and fumes. Who's this new woman and is she a member of the Dynasty?

We then go to the back with Doug Williams.

Doug Williams: I've been saying all along that I'm the best wrestler on the planet. And I'm sure people might think that's a little presumptive of me. But you'd be wrong. You see, I've beaten everybody in Europe. I've toured Japan and won there. I've competed with the best throughout the world and I learned things from all of them. So I came here, the GWA, hoping to find the best of the best. The Olympic Gold Medallist is here. The "World's Most Dangerous Man" is here. All sorts of accredited men are here for me to face...for me to humble. There are those who say I can't really call myself the best unless I have the belt. Well, shortly, I'm going to remedy that. And when that happens, the whole of the GWA will come under Anarchy Rules.

("Final Resistance" by Dark Tranquillity plays as Jerry Lynn walks down the aisle with a serious look on his face. He doesn't really acknowledge the fans cheering for him, but focuses on the ring. Four months ago, CIMA attacked Lynn after a match he had with Tajiri and injured his knee, putting him on the shelf for a couple months. Even though Lynn's been obsessed with getting revenge on CIMA, this will be their first official one-on-one match in the GWA. Lynn steps through the ropes and waits for his opponent.

"Yatahaze" by dredg then plays as CIMA walks to the entryway. Everything about CIMA has rubbed Lynn the wrong way and Lynn has declared that he will take CIMA out of the GWA. And to that end, Lynn darts out of the ring and runs up the aisle to start the fight immediately.)

He then brings him up and whips him into the ropes, but Lynn comes back with a shoulderblock. Lynn runs into the ropes, but CIMA catches him with a hiptoss that makes him land on the chair! He tries to toss CIMA on the chair with a flapjack, but CIMA lands on all fours to avoid it. Lynn tries to drop a leg on the back of CIMA's neck, but CIMA moves to avoid it. Lynn gets up gingerly, but catches a charging CIMA with an inverted atomic drop. He runs into the ropes to hit a lariat, but CIMA ducks under and surprises him with a superkick. Lynn falls in a heap and CIMA slowly makes a cover, taking enough time to allow Lynn to kick out. Both men are slow to get up and stand at about the same time. CIMA rakes Lynn's eyes and stuns him with a headbutt before lifting him up and putting him on the top rope stomach first and draping him down. CIMA then climbs to the top rope in the adjacent corner and flies off, hitting Lynn in the back with a dropkick to knock him to the mat. Instead of going for the cover, CIMA sits Lynn up in the corner and grabs a chair, draping it over Lynn's face. He then backs away and charges, hitting the chair with a dropkick! CIMA hits the mat and bounces away as Lynn is spread eagled from the punishment he's taken. Lynn slowly crawls over to CIMA and drapes an arm over him. The ref counts: one....two....

Lynn stops attacking to try to keep his balance on the top rope, which gives CIMA time to grab his arms and drive Lynn through the table with a top-rope Iconoclasm! [Grudge Match]:

Rating: ****

CIMA wins a hard-fought, bloody match. It seemed that toward the end Jerry Lynn was kicking out of pin attempts out of spite, but he couldn't do it indefinitely as CIMA picks up a win that will certainly increase his standing in the GWA. It's unfortunate for Lynn that CIMA was so close to the ropes after he hit the Cradle Piledriver. After the match, CIMA picks up a chair and looks at the fallen Lynn. The ref tries to get in the middle, but CIMA doesn't even notice him. However, after some deliberation, CIMA tosses the chair to the mat and leaves the ring, heading up the aisle to boos from the fans.

The camera cuts from the referee checking on Lynn to Kurt Angle in the back.

Kurt Angle: Time after time, I've heard the same thing. All of you people at home want the same thing. You want to see Kurt Angle beaten and lose his title. And for what? Jealousy? Because I, with three little I's, reached a level where I am better at one thing, that being wrestling, than anyone else on the planet. Not only that, I'm a better wrestler than most of you people watching are at everything combined. Oh it's true. So when I hear slovenly fans shout that I'm going to lose, I don't take them seriously. And sure enough, I took on the Rock. I beat him. Twice. I took on Taz. I beat him too. I've beat everyone that's come along to fight me. Ken Shamrock, Rhyno, Chavo Guerrero, it doesn't matter. I beat them all. So tonight, Tully Blanchard wants to have a big party for the GWA World Title. He wants to have some specialty match for its first defense on a pay-per-view. So we have the Gauntlet and a lot of people think that that's just more chances for me to lose. But they'd be wrong because at the end of the day, nobody is better than me in that ring. So tonight, just like every other night, I'm going to leave GWA World Champion.

(And it's time for the main event, the Gauntlet match. Six men are entering the ring tonight, staggered in four minute intervals. A competitor can be eliminated only by pinfall or submission and the last man standing will be the GWA World Champion. "Underworld" by Anathema plays as Ultimo Dragon walks down the aisle to enter the match first. He has to be considered the surprise entrant in this match, but he's taken advantage of the success he found in the Gauntlet match to show he's a player in the GWA. Dragon hops over the top rope and stands on the middle turnbuckle with his arms folded waiting for his opponent.

"Paint It Black" by the Tea Party then plays as AJ Styles walks down the aisle. AJ is already a champion in the GWA, being one-half of the Tag Team Champions, but he's looking to add more gold tonight. In the teaser match last week on Ground Zero, he was beaten by Taz, but he's looking to show that that was a one-time occurrence. His goal is to allow his athleticism to carry him through the match. Styles steps through the ropes and the bell sounds.)

[The Gauntlet]

He taunts the crowd for a bit then brings Dragon to his feet and whips him to the ropes. However, Dragon jumps on the middle rope and comes back with an Asai moonsault. He connects and gets a near fall out of it. Both men get to their feet and Styles grabs him in a headlock and takes him down to the mat. Taz keeps trying to get up, but Dragon blasts him in the back and chest with kicks. However, Taz catches one of the kicks and takes Dragon down with a dragon screw. The buzzer sounds and Ken Shamrock runs down the aisle and into the ring.

Shamrock immediately tackles Taz and throws rights and lefts while Taz tries to cover up. Taz manages to push Shamrock off and get to his feet, but Shamrock is there with a forearm to the chest. He whips Taz into the ropes, but Taz reverses and clotheslines him. He brings Shamrock to his feet and whips him into the ropes, but lowers his head too early, letting Shamrock kicks him in the head. Taz pops up and Dragon comes in and delivers a spinning leg lariat to the back of the head. He starts to make a cover, but Shamrock drags him off and tries to apply the Ankle Lock. Dragon fights his way out and rolls Shamrock up for two, then both men get up and Shamrock knocks the taste out of Dragon's mouth with a punch. Both men pop up and Shamrock tackles Dragon before locking in a grapevine. Dragon struggles to the ropes, but Shamrock keeps his position. Williams enters the ring and goes after Taz, dropping a knee on him. He brings Taz to his feet and throws him out of the ring as Dragon starts kicking Shamrock in the chest to break the hold. Williams goes to the outside and hits Taz from behind with an axhandle and then chucks him into the ringsteps. He grabs Taz's arm and drives it into the ringpost. Taz tries to shake it off and rolls back into the ring. Both Shamrock and Dragon are on their feet and Shamrock hits Dragon with a headbutt to knock him down. Dragon scrambles to his feet, but Williams attacks Shamrock from behind. He grabs him for a German suplex, but Shamrock goes behind him and takes him down to the mat. He tries to lock in the Ankle Lock, but Williams blocks it and gets back to his feet to put Shamrock in a headlock. He follows that up with a series of punches to the head to knock him to the mat. He brings Dragon out of the corner and goes for a German suplex, but Dragon manages to land on his feet. However, Taz comes up behind him and hits Dragon with a release German suplex of his own. Angle gets up quickly, but Dragon rolls him up with a small package for another two count. Both men get up again and Angle hits Dragon with a European uppercut. Williams pushes Shamrock through the ropes to get him off. Shamrock stands up on the apron and Williams gets up to meet him, but Shamrock hits him with some punches to the head. Williams, however, comes back with a high knee, sending Shamrock off the apron and into the guardrail. Meanwhile, Dragon tries to kick Angle in the stomach, but Angle catches it. Dragon is able to turn that into an enzuigiri to send Angle on his face. He makes a cover, but Angle kicks out. Angle gets up slowly and Dragon takes him down with a drop-toe hold. He starts to roll Angle up with a Magistral cradle, but Angle sits down midway through and hooks both of Dragon's legs to get three and eliminate him.

(Taz won the GWA World Title.)

And in an incredible performance, Taz has won the GWA World Title! Clearly Angle has nothing to be ashamed of either tonight or with his reign, but he was choked out by the Tazmission and is now one of the many challengers. The ref grabs the belt from the timekeeper and presents it to Taz, who stands on the turnbuckle and raises it above his head before draping it over his shoulder. The fans chant Taz's name as we fade to black.

It's been awhile since GWA has been around, so truthfully I forget a lot of the storylines that were going on.

That being said, two matches that really stood out was Steve Corino beating The Rock, which makes him a huge star GWA style, and of course the main event which was great.  I sometimes forget Taz used to wrestle well. :)  He should be a dominant champion though.  Looking forward to see where you go from here.
