Events that occured during the show


Royal Rumble highlights air.

In the opening of the show, Ric Flair comes to the ring to discuss winning the Royal Rumble.
He is interupted by Chavo Guerrero, who is still upset over being eliminated by Flair.
Flair agrees to face Chavo one on one tonight.

In the ring, Kevin Nash discusses his frustration with Shawn Michaels causing him to lose the title match at Royal Rumble.
Shawn comes out to have words with Nash causing his elimination at the end of the Royal Rumble match.
As their conversation becomes more heated, a group of referees and WWF officials run out to get between the two.

Afterwards, Shane McMahon announces this Friday night on Smackdown, Kevin Nash will get another title shot at the Rock.
The match will be a steel cage match to make sure nobody interferes.

Bruno Sammartino announces this year the Money In The Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania will increase to include 8 competitors.
The first qualifying match will be held on Smackdown between Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage.

During his match with Kobashi, Masters came out to ringside.
When he did, Orton noticed and left the ring and began arguing with Masters.
Bobby Heenan tried to get Orton's attention to get back in the ring, but it was too late as he was counted out.
Masters tried to apologize, but Orton stormed off.

Backstage, before the main event, Chavo told the members of the Injustice League to let him deal with Flair alone.
Chavo guaranteed he would have no trouble beating the old man.

After the main event, The Rock came out to the ring.
He congratulated Ric Flair on winning the Rumble.
Rock promised he would retain the title Friday night and would go on to do the same at Wrestlemania.
Flair looked surprised at Rock's bold statement as the show went off the air.

Hour 1


Andre the Giant and Big Boss Man defeated
Rhythm And Blues (Honky Tonk Man and Jesse James) when Boss Man pinned
James with the Boss Man Slam in 0:09:05.

Events that occured during the show


Royal Rumble highlights air.

Triple H is shown arriving. He is confronted by Sid Justice.
As they argue, Shane McMahon tosses a sledgehammer to Sid who uses it to attack Triple H.
Scott Hall runs in and attacks Sid.
The remaining members of the Injustice League and DX arrive at the same time and a huge brawl starts.

Later in the show, Bruno scolds Shane for his behavior this evening.
Bruno announces he's made a tag team match for Raw, Shane McMahon & Sid Justice vs Triple H & Scott Hall.

Backstage throughout the evening, various wrestlers talk to the Rock about his Wrestlemania guarantee.
Shawn Michaels, Cactus Jack, & Arn Anderson all felt the Rock is taking Flair lightly and should show more respect.

During his match, Michaels was distracted by Nash, allowing Savage to get the win.

After the main event was over, Shawn Michaels ran out and knocked down the referee standing outside the cage.
Shawn took the referee's key and broke the cage lock.
He then climbed the cage and got in to brawl with Nash.
The Injustice League ran out with DX close behind and they began to fight in the aisle way.
Referees and WWF officials came out and tried their best to calm things down, but the situation was out of hand.
Inside the ring, Michaels lands a Super Kick on Nash.
Shawn then climbs to the top of the cage and does a dive onto Nash.
The two of them are down as the show goes off the air.

Events that occured during the show


The show opens with Shawn Michaels in the ring.
He discusses the brawl with Nash and how Nash cost him not only the Rumble, but now a Money In The Bank spot.
Michaels issues a challenge to Nash for Wrestlemania.
Shane McMahon comes out with Sid Justice and informs Shawn that Nash isn't present this evening.
Shane goes on to tell Shawn that Nash is a Heavyweight Title contender and wouldn't waste his time with an also ran like Michaels.
Shawn lands a Super Kick on Shane, but in return receives a power bomb from Justice.
Triple H & Scott Hall then run out to the ring.
Sid pulls Shane out of the ring.
Sid and Triple H stare at each other as he and Shane make their way to the back.

After Mr. Hughes victory, Kurt Angle informs him that to thank him for everything he's done, Angle got Hughes a European title shot on Raw next week.

As Angle was getting ready for his match, he ran into Shamrock backstage.
Angle and him exchanged words with Kurt talking about going to Wrestlemania to have a chance at earning a guaranteed title shot.
Shamrock predicts a Jericho win tonight to Angle's displeasure.

After losing the match to Jericho, Angle again sees Shamrock backstage.
Shamrock laughs at Angle, and Kurt flips and attacks Shamrock.

Before the main event, a limo is shown arriving.
Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler speculate who is inside.
They both believe maybe it's Nash, coming to accept Shawn's challenge.

After the main event, Shane gets on the microphone and gloats about pinning another top Superstar.
As he continues to speak, he's cut off as no chance in hell starts to play.
Vince McMahon makes his return after being attacked by Shane.
Shane tries to explain his actions to his dad.
But, the only thing Vince has to say is YOUR FIREDDDDDDD!

Events that occured during the show


Vince McMahon returns to the ring to discuss the reasons for firing Shane.
The Injustice League come to the ring.
Sting talks to Vince about ruthless aggression.
Sting says Shane's tactics to take over were no different than what Vince did to take over the wrestling industry.
Vince looks around the ring and tells them to watch what they say, or he may forget his generosity tonight.
Vince informs Sting he will have a match against Austin, the winner to receive a shot at the Intercontinental title on Raw.
He also tells Rick Rude he will have a Money In The Bank Qualifying match tonight against the Undertaker.

Bruno Sammartino announces at Wrestlemania there will be a Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team titles.
The winner of both the Hart/Martel vs Road Warriors match and Masters/Orton vs. Andre/Boss Man match will qualify as participants.

Backstage, before their match, Bobby Heenan says that Masters & Orton have made up.
Later, during their match, Orton is almost untouchable in the ring.
He tags out to Masters who gets off to a good start, but it comes to a halt after Boss Man tags in Andre.
As Masters struggles with Andre, a disgusted Orton just turns and walks away leaving Masters on his own.
After the match is over, Heenan looks at Masters and also just walks away.

Afterwards, Masters confronts Orton backstage.
Orton says Masters is an anchor holding him down.
Masters defends himself against those remarks.
Orton delivers a RKO to Masters and then spits on him before he leaves.

Backstage, Ric Flair sees the Rock.
The Rock points out he was right about his first prediction, beating Nash.
Flair laughs and tells Rock that's nice, but he'll be wrong about his Wrestlemania prediction.

After his loss, Sting stays out at ringside.
Rick Rude is introduced for the main event first, he stops to talk with Sting.
Sting then starts to walk down the aisle as Undertaker is making his way to the ring.
Sting and Undertaker exchange words, and they begin to exchange blows.
Rude runs out and makes it a 2 on 1 attack as the referee tries to break it up.
Bruno Sammartino comes out and escorts Sting to the back before the match officially starts.

In the parking lot, Shane McMahon arrives with Sid Justice.
Security will not let Shane into the bulding, per Vince's orders.
Shane tries to call Vince on his cell phone, but Vince ignores the call.

Backstage, Mr. McMahon runs into The Rock.
McMahon talks about how excited he is to see him face Flair at Wrestlemania.
McMahon comments that regardless of what he thinks of him,
Rock should be honored to fight Flair.

After his match with Tatanka, Sting was attacked by The Undertaker.
Once things calmed down, Bruno Sammartino came out on stage.
He announced Sting will face Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

During the main event, Bobby Heenan kept getting involved with the match.
Near the end, The Rock came out to ringside.
He exchanged words with Heenan.
The Rock then walked away as Heenan distracted the referee.
Rock then hit Flair with the title belt before Orton hit the RKO for the win.
After the match, The Rock and Orton double teamed Flair in the ring.
When their finished, The Rock raises Orton's arm as Heenan celebrates.

Orton then discusses pinning Flair on Raw.
It's then the Rock's turn to talk.
The Rock explains how sick and tired he was of everyone talking about Flair's greatness.
Rock says he's the champion and he doesn't want to hear that he should be honored to face Flair.
Rock says Flair should be honored to be in the same ring as him.
The Four Horsemen, minus Flair, come to the ring.
Anderson confronts Rock about his jealousy and his attack on Flair.
Anderson challenges Rock to a match tonight, which Rock accepts.

Backstage, Bruno Sammartino announces the Road Warriors don't want to wait until Wrestlemania,
they want and will receive their tag team title shot tonight.

During the show, Shane McMahon can be seen sitting in the crowd.
Moonsoon and Ventura don't acknowledge him.

Bruno Sammartino reveals X Pac will defend the Cruiserweight title in a 10 man battle royal at Wrestlemania.

Piper's Pit segment with DX.
Scott Hall & Chris Jericho discuss the money in the bank match at Wrestlemania.
X Pac talks about Sammartino's announcement regarding the battle royal
Shawn Michaels discusses his challenge to Nash, which still hasn't been accepted.
The Injustice League then come to the ring.
The members spread out around the ring, circling DX.
Nash looks at DX and talks to them about when he was small time with their dog & pony show.
Nash informs Shawn he's considering his offer for Wrestlemania.
Michaels says consider this and tries to land a Super Kick, but Nash blocks it and delivers a Power Bomb.
DX and the Injustice League start to brawl in the ring.

Before the show goes off the air,
Bruno Sammartino announces after tonight's events, Michaels vs Nash will happen at Wrestlemania.

It is announced that on the Wrestlemania 2 pre show,
a 20 man battle royale will take place.
Hulk Hogan and Big John Studd are announced as the first two participants.

Ric Flair is shown at his home in Charlotte.
He is interviewed via satellite by Jim Ross.
They discuss The Rock attacking Flair last week
and their match at Wrestlemania.

During the Michaels/Hawk match, after Michaels landed the Super Kick
Animal distracted the referee.
Kevin Nash ran in and attacked Michaels, leading to Hawk's win.

During the Triple H/Animal match, after landing a pedigree on Animal,
Hawk broke up the pin leading to the dq.
He then joined Sting and Rick Rude in attacking Triple H.
Scott Hall, X Pac, & Chris Jericho all ran out to make the save.

Vince McMahon comes to the ring and calls out Shane.
Shane tells Vince he wants a shot to get back into the company.
Shane asks Vince to face him in a match at Wrestlemania.
Vince tells him he has a condition.
Shane will have to win a match on Raw Monday night against an opponent of Vince's choosing.
Shane agrees and tells Vince after he wins on Monday,
he has a condition of his own when he faces him at Wrestlemania.

During the Undertaker/Sid match,
Sting came to ringside and distracted the Undertaker.
Sid used the opportunity to win the match.
Afterwards, Sting got in the ring and started to fight with Undertaker.
Sid joined in making it a 2 on 1 attack.
Triple H ran in and attacked Sid.
A group of referees and officials ran out to break up the fight.
Once the ring was cleared, Undertaker and Triple H just stood there staring at each other.

After the main event, the Injustice League ran out and attacked Jericho.
DX ran out to help, but were eventually overpowered by the League.
All of a sudden, the lights go out.
When they come back on, Undertaker is standing in the ring.
He manages to clear the ring, saving Sting for last.
Undertaker delivers a Tombstone Piledriver to Sting.

The Undertaker does a promo about his match with Sting at Wrestlemania.
He is interupted by Kevin Nash, who is upset over Undertaker getting involved at the end of Smackdown.
Nash wants to face Undertaker tonight, and Undertaker agrees.

Backstage, The Road Warriors continue to plead their case to Bruno Sammartino
to regain their spot in the fatal four way at Wrestlemania.
Bruno tells them, he'll give them a match on Smackdown to prove themselves.

The Rock does a promo responding to Flair's comments made on Raw last week.
Rock continues to guarantee a Wrestlemania win.

Shane McMahon waits in the ring for his opponent.
Vince McMahon comes out and announces this man is out to get even with Shane
for his attack on MWF Superstars a couple weeks ago.
Vince introduces Mr. Kennedy.
Shane managed to beat Kennedy clean.

Vince then tells Shane he's a man of his word, he will face Shane at Wrestlemania.
Shane tells Vince he wants to add a condition.
Shane says if he can pin Vince at Wrestlemania, he wants Vince to retire effective immediately
and hand over total control of the WWF to him.
Vince seems hesitant at first, but after being heckled by Shane about not being man enough,
Vince accepts.

Randy Orton was in control of his match with Rick Martel, when Chris Masters came to ringside.
The distraction allowed Martel to roll up Orton for the pin and the final spot in the Money In The Bank ladder match.

Orton and Heenan are shown in Bruno Sammartino's office before the main event.
Orton tells Bruno that Martel's cheap win shouldn't count.
Sammartino doesn't agree with Orton's opinion.
Orton tells Bruno he wants to face Masters at Wrestlemania, Bruno agrees to make the match.

In the main event, at one point the referee was knocked out.
Shawn Michaels ran in and attacked Kevin Nash.  
Sting then came out and began fighting with the Undertaker.
A group of referees managed to get Michaels and Sting out of the area.
Sting returned to ringside later on and helped Nash win the match.

Bruno Sammartino announces the winner of tonight's four corner's match, will be the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

Backstage, Sid Justice & Triple H run in to each other.
They exchange words and begin fighting.
Later on, Sammartino announces he's adding Triple H vs. Sid Justice to the Wrestlemania card.

Piper's Pit segment with Ric Flair.
They discuss Flair's match with The Rock.
During the segment, the Heenan Family come to the ring.
The Rock and Flair exchange words.
Piper stirs the pot by suggesting a Wrestlemania preview.
The Rock tells the Family to leave the ring.
He and Flair begin to wrestle.
Flair takes control and manages to get Rock in the Figure Four leglock.
Once this happens, Orton enters the ring and hits Flair with the title belt.
The Family start to attack Flair, until the Horsemen run in to make the save.

Bruno Sammartino tells the Road Warriors, if they can win their match tonight, he will put them back in the fatal four way at Wrestlemania.

Shane McMahon is shown in the locker room hanging out with the Injustice League.
Shane tells them of his plans for the company when he takes control.

In the main event, after battling to a double countout, Shamrock and Angle continue to fight
to the backstage area.
After winning the match, Austin celebrates in the ring by chugging some beer.

Events that occured during the show


In the Severn/Hughes match, Angle attacked Severn during the match leading to the dq finish.
Shamrock ran out to help Severn.

Wrestlemania 2 is previewed.
During this time, it's announced that a 10 man tag match has been added:
Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Kenta Kobashi, & the Steiner Brothers vs.
Kurt Angle, Mr. Hughes, Honky Tonk Man, Jeff Jarrett, & Jesse James
Jerry Lawler also announced he will participate in the 20 man Battle Royal before the show.

During the Masters/Berzerker match, Bobby Heenan came down to ringside.
He distracted the referee and Randy Orton ran in from the crowd to attack Masters.
The attack helped Berzerker win the match.

The Lita/ Trish Stratus match was to determine who will face Victoria at Wrestlemania.
Due to the double countout, the Woman's Championship match will now be a triple threat.

After Sting's match, he talks trash about the Undertaker.
The lights go out, when they come back on Undertaker is in the ring.
Undertaker attempts to give Sting a Tombstone Piledriver, but Sting manages to avoid it.
Sting delivers his own Tombstone Piledriver on the Undertaker.
Sting leaves the ring and gets to the top of the stage, he turns and looks back at the ring.
Undertaker sits up and he & Sting stare at each other as Sting laughs at him.

Ric Flair is interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund, giving his final thoughts before Wrestlemania.

After the main event, Nash & Justice celebrate by taunting Michaels & Triple H.

Events that occured during the show


Before the show, the Four Horsemen and the Heenan Family get into a brawl backstage.

Hawk & Animal came out to ringside during the Bulldogs/Demolition match.
Animal's interference helped the Bulldogs defeat Demolition.
The Road Warriors & Demolition began to fight in the ring.

Vince McMahon is shown conducting business in his office at WWF Headquarters.
Shane McMahon enters with an interior decorator.
Vince is annoyed, and Shane tells him this will be his office after Sunday night.
Shane tells the interior decorator he can start Monday.
He then changes it to Tuesday,
so he can have a chance to open the windows and get rid of the old man smell.

Wrestlemania 2 is previewed.
Jesse Ventura adds himself to the list of those competing in the 20 man battle royal before the show.
Participants are:
Hulk Hogan, Big John Studd, Tatanka, Dynamite Kid, Jesse Ventura, Jerry Lawler, Vader, Barry Windham,
Dave Taylor, Roddy Piper, Haku, Pat Patterson, Bad News Brown, Davey Boy Smith, Harry Smith,
The Berzerker, The Big Show, MWF World Heavyweight Champion Chavo Guerrero,
and two surprise entrants.

Backstage before his match, RVD has some words with X Pac about the Cruiserweight battle royal at Wrestlemania.

At the end of the main event,
Flair, Anderson, & Martel fight Orton, Booker T, & Stevie Ray outside the ring.
Meanwhile, Owen manages to get The Rock into the Sharpshooter and makes him submit.
After the match, The Rock is a sore loser and attacks Owen.
Flair runs in and takes down The Rock.
He puts him in the Figure Four Leglock.
Heenan gets in the ring and attacks Flair.
Flair releases the hold and The Rock rolls out of the ring.
Flair fights back against Heenan and puts him in the Figure Four Leglock.
It doesn't last long as Orton pulls Heenan out of the ring.
The Horsemen stand together in the ring, watching the Heenan Family angrily walk away.
