Last Month 12 men entered Chicago with one thing on their minds, MCPW Gold. When the night was over 4 men now stand just weeks away from claiming the highest prize in MCPW. To bad CM Punk will not be one of the four battling for the MCPW Title. Punk was furious last month after he was disqualified from his 2nd round match with Christian Cage. John Morrison came down to the ring and attacked Cage not once but twice giving the ref no choice but to disqualify Punk. After the match Cage seemed to thank Morrison after the match leaving us to wonder if this was somehow planned? Punk demanded a rematch but will not see Morrison or Cage next week but will face Nigel McGuinness who asked for the match. Nigel made it clear he is tired of being over looked and said a victory over Punk will quiet the critics.

The Kings of Wrestling interrupted the tournament to stake their claim to the MCPW Tag Team Titles demanding that DeMott return the titles to them This brought out the Irish Airborne and the Havana Pittbulls who also staked their claim to the title. Bill DeMott came down after the Prescription Thugs made their way to the ring to announce that all four teams will partake in a four corners no time limit match. The winner of this match has got to be considered the front runner for the titles.

In a rematch from last months title tournament Bryan Danielson will take on AJ Styles, and in tag team action Harry Smith and John Morrison will face Brian Kendrick and Paul London.

Katsushi Takemura Lex Lovett and Mickey Gambino will face off in a Triangle match and Petey Williams will face Chris Harris.

Not only is Next Pay per view a big one it's also will Mark the 1 year anniversary for Motor City Pro Wrestling. On that first show we crowned a MCPW champion and at "Coronation" we will once again crown a champion. We could not ask for a better Main Event., a Four Corners Ladder Match for the vacant MCPW Heavyweight title. Lets take a look at the participants:

Samoa Joe : Former MCPW Heavyweight Champion former MCPW Television Champion. Has defended the Heavyweight title a record 7 times before losing it to Low-Ki. Later became the Television Champion and defended it 5 times before being striped of the title. Joe is looking to become MCPW 1st two time Heavyweight champion.

Christopher Daniels: Former MCPW Television Champion former 2 time Tag Team Champion. Held the Television and Tag team titles at one time before losing the TV title to Bobby Roode. Daniels is looking to add the Heavyweight title to his collection and become MCPW's first Grand Prix Champion.

Brock Lesnar: No Stranger to wining Championship gold. Lesnar came to MCPW with two goals, Dismantle the Coalition and win the MCPW Heavyweight Title.

Christian Cage: Former MCPW Heavyweight Champion also looking to become a 2 time champion. Longest reigning Heavyweight Champion until he was striped of the title. Has vowed to get back what was taken and will do anything to make sure it will happen.

(Nigel McGuinness won the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

McGuinness would walk away MCPW champ but he also made an enemy in one Samoa Joe.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

[match 1]
Triangle Match:
Katsushi Takemura defeated Lex Lovett and Mickey Gambino when K. Takemura made
Lex Lovett submit to an armbar submission in 0:18:07.
Rating: *** 1/4

One has to wonder about Lex Lovett who has yet to record a victory here so far in MCPW. Takemura on the other hand has run of some big wins lately and may be in contention for the TV title.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/16/07 at "Joe vs. McGuinness II" We were set for the 1st of 3 title matches against these 2. Joe earlier in the week won his shot at McGuinness' title and wasted no time in cashing in.

MCPW Heavyweight Title:
Samoa Joe defeated Nigel McGuinness when Nigel McGuinness passed out in the
Kokina Clutch in 0:15:26.
Rating: **** 1/2
(Samoa Joe won the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

Samoa Joe never looked back and defended the title a record 7 times and walked out each time still the champ.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Match 2]
Harry Smith and John Morrison defeated Paul London and Brian Kendrick when
Harry pinned B. Kendrick after the Liger Bomb in 0:02:37.
Rating: ***

Harry Smith and John Morrison have developed into a nice tag team taking out the high flying London and Kendrick. Will Smith and Morrison continue to team up or are they just using each other to get what they want, a shot at CM Punk?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The miniacle Christian Cage jumped into the title scene on 2/20/07 when he demanded that DeMott give him a shot after McGuinness lost to Joe a 3rd time.

MCPW Heavyweight Title
Christian Cage defeated Samoa Joe by disqualification in 0:14:54.
Rating: ****
(Samoa Joe retained the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

This one was as good as advertised as both men did not hold back. There was something in Joe's eyes tonight that was different then most nights as Joe was not trying for the win but looking to make a statement and one he did. Late in the match Joe grabbed the MCPW title and smashed it over the head of Cage knocking the man out. The ref had no choice but to DQ the champ. Joe didn't seem to care as he stood over Cage's downed body for a second looked at the belt and exited the ring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[match 3]
Delirious made Austin Aries submit to the Cobra Stretch in 0:13:55.
Rating: *** 3/4

New comer Delirious picked up a big win over former Coalition member Aries. Delirious is quickly becoming a fan favorite here in MCPW.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On 1/27/07 Joe and Cage went at it again and like last time Joe took matters in his own hand.

MCPW Heavyweight Title No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Samoa Joe pinned Christian Cage after a spinebuster slam in 0:09:32.
Rating: *** 3/4
(Samoa Joe retained the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

This match was ugly from the start as both men didn't wait till the bell. This spilled out the ring up the steps and on to the second floor. Joe hit the spinebuster on the concrete floor for the pin.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[Match 4]
CM Punk defeated Nigel McGuinness by disqualification in 0:04:01.
Rating: ** 1/2
[John Morrison interfered against CM Punk.]

For the 3rd time in as many months, John Morrison has interfered in a CM Punk match, Last time it cost him a title shot. Punk was furious and demanded Morrison settle this here and now but John just smiled and shook his head no as he walked to the back. I'm sure this is far from being over with.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Samoa Joe would turn Cage and the Coalition away 2 more times to maintain the title when GM Bill DeMott dropped the bomb that Samoa Joe would face Television Champ Low-Ki winner takes all. Needless to say after taking out Cage and the Coalition just weeks ago, Joe was not 100% but being the fighting champion he was jumped in the ring for all or nothing.

MCPW Heavyweight Title - MCPW Television Title No-Time-Limit-Match:
Low-Ki pinned Samoa Joe in 0:03:18.
Rating: ***
(Low-Ki won the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)
(Low-Ki retained the MCPW Television Title.)

Halfway through the match Low-Ki was in control as both champs were getting their shots in. Austin Aries came down to the ring and distracted the ref when AJ Styles down and hit the Styles Clash on Low-Ki. The ref looking back was taken out by Aries. With no ref Styles and Aries started to beat up on both men when Joe started to get his second win and took the action back to Styles. Cage slipped in from someplace and kicked Joe in the mid section and then hit the Unprettier. With both men out Cage revived the ref and tossed him back in the ring. Confused and dazed the ref looked around and started to give both men the 10 count. Low-Ki was the first to move and slowly crawled over to Joe and placed his arm over him. The ref counted to 3 and we had a new heavyweight champion. There was no time to celebrate as Cage, Aries and Styles came into the ring and started to beat down both men again. Cage grabbed the heavyweight tile and Styles picked up the Television title and walked away to the back to the boos of the sold out crowd.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

[match 5]
No-Time-Limit-Four Corners Match:
The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) defeated
Irish Airborne (Lotus and Crazy J),
The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) and
The Prescription Thugs (Dr. Cheung and Darkness Crabtree) when R. Romero made
Crabtree submit to the Romero Special #2 in 0:30:45.
Rating: ****

Well for this month at least the question of who is the best tag team in MCPW was answered by the Havana Pittbulls. going in to the Tag team tournament in a few months the Pittbulls have to be considered the favorite.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On 5/4/07 Cage finally was able to grab a hold of the MCPW Heavyweight title and never looked back defeating Low-Ki with some help from a masked wrestler.

MCPW Heavyweight Title
Christian Cage pinned Low-Ki with the Unprettier in 0:18:47.
Rating: ****
(Christian Cage won the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)
[Masked Man interfered against Low-Ki.]

The main event lived up to the hype as Low-Ki had his 2nd title defense of the night this time for the heavyweight title. Cage had a look of determination as he promised he was going to take the belt tonight. Late in the match Low-Ki looked like he was going to take this when Cage pushed Low-Ki into the ref knocking him out. A masked individual came down to the ring and hit Low-Ki with huge Samoa Drop and slid out the ring. HE then revived the ref and started making his way up the ramp. Cage realizing what was going on hit the Unprettier on Low-Ki and went for the pin. The ref slowly counted to 3 and Cage was the new MCPW champion. We end with Cage holding the belt up to a chorus of boos as the masked man looks on at the top of the ramp.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

[match 6]
Petey Williams defeated Chris Harris by pin in 0:19:40.
Rating: ** 3/4

Petey Williams got past a determined Chris Harris with 20 seconds left in the match. I'm sure this will be revisited next month.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

7/13/07 by this time Cage and the Coalition was in full control of MCPW, AJ Styles had won the TV title and the WGTT were battling for the Tag titles. Cage on the other hand failed to defend his title in the required 30 days and DeMott gave the camp a choice, defended it tonight or relinquish the title. Needless to say Cage decided to defend the title but he made sure the Coalition took out his frustration on the rest of MCPW.

MCPW Heavyweight Title
Brock Lesnar defeated Christian Cage by countout in 0:02:11.
Rating: **
(Christian Cage retained the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

Cage was in the ring still upset over the fact that he had to wrestle but upset turned to pure surprise when the ring announcer called out his opponent. The Phenomena, Brock Lesnar! After getting his butt kicked and tossed and dropped all over the ring. Cage took his belt and walked away losing the match by countout but retaining the MCPW Title. The crowd lit into Cage as they booed him all the way backstage. Lesnar took the win but jumped onto the top rope yelling for Cage to return as we ended tonight's PPV.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[match 7]
Bryan Danielson pinned AJ Styles after a dropkick in 0:09:38.
Rating: **** 1/4

This was a short but great match between these two who hate each other/ Styles made it known this was far from over.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

7/27/07 DeMott was furious at Cage and the Coalition and laid down some law. The Coalition was banned from ringside and banned from the main event. He also voided out last weeks title match and demanded Cage defend the title once more, this time in a no count out no DQ match. Once again Cage was not to happy but agreed.

MCPW Heavyweight Title No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:
Christian Cage pinned Brock Lesnar with the Unprettier in 0:17:43.
Rating: ***
(Christian Cage retained the MCPW Heavyweight Title.)

It was clear who the fans wanted to win this one. You could feel it in the air that something was about to go down. With the Coalition banned from ringside everyone knew we were looking at the final moments of the Cage Era. But alas Cage shows again why he held the title for as long as he had. Cage did what no one thought he would and took the fight to Lesnar. That didn't mean that Cage was running away with the match, Lesnar was all over Cage but the champ held his till he saw his opening and slid out the ring. With no countout we knew Cage was not trying to get counted out again. Lesnar followed Cage around the ring. Cage grabbed the title off the table and hit Lesnar square between the eyes. Cage regained his strut and swagger as he dragged Lesnar's body in to the ring. He made one more gesture to the crowd then hit the Unprettier on Lesnar and picked up the win. Cage slid out the ring, picked up the belt and slowly made his way to the back as the sold out crowd lit in to him.

Cage and Lesnar were to meet the following week in Chicago but MCPW was sold and all titles were striped. This brings us to tonight, after months of joking for position then the Heavyweight tournament, tonight we will see who will walk out of the Bradley Center the New MCPW champion.

Card rating: *** 1/2
