Match Observations:

What a night we saw at Payback! All three titles changed hands, and there were some surprise results all through the night. Did anyone really expect to see Jay Briscoe loss the Television Title - a title he's held since the end of last year? With the quick match that he and Halloween went through, Halloween deserves to be TV Champion. But, Briscoe didn't leave empty-handed as he and Cloudy were able to dethrone the returning Jay Lethal and Perry Saturn for the Tag Team Titles.

But, unlike Jay Briscoe, who gets to leave San Jose with a title around his waist, Justin Credible only had a taste of being a three-time Heavyweight Champion, losing the belt to Kenta Kobashi. It showed tonight that Credible needs to be careful of what he says, because it might come back to bite him. Nonetheless, we now know that Kobashi has not one, but TWO sets of eyes staring down at him. One will be the former Champion, and the other will be from a very angry "Animal".

Trent Acid made his return to pay-per-view tonight, demanding a match with the man that injured him a few weeks ago - Rex Butler. Acid was able to get the upper hand tonight, even with interference from the lovely Missy. Sources say that Acid was ecstatic about his victory, while Butler was very angry... not just at himself, but at Missy as well. Word from the back says that Butler left the arena in a huff, with Missy chasing behind him. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this in the following weeks.

And, speaking of "the Animal" Batista. The San Jose crowd came very close to seeing another huge upset tonight when Tarek the Great took the match just under the 20-minute time limit. However, Batista used his resources and was able to pick up a much-needed victory - a victory that he had to have if he has hopes of returning to main-event status in the near future.
