MWWA Carnage
January 3, 2009
Joe Louis Arena
Detroit, Michigan

Richard Harris and Walter (Walt) Richardson welcome us to the debut of CARNAGE on the FX Network. Harris informs the television audience that last week, Trent Acid injured his right knee in a losing effort against Jay Briscoe, who walked away with the Television Championship. Walt says he can't wait to see Trent Acid on CARNAGE, and that Jay Briscoe's time as Television Champion may not last too long. Rick says that tonight, the TV Champion will start off the program with a non-title match against "The Demonic One" Rex Butler...

Non-Title Match:
Rex Butler pinned Jay Briscoe with the Wicked Sensation in 13:41.

Rex walks away from the ring, tugging Missy at the wrist, behind him. The couple celebrates Rex's victory as Jay Briscoe slowly gets up from the canvas, holding his neck. He rolls out of the ring and grabs the TV Title, holding it tightly against his chest.

A commercial for Safe Auto car insurance is shown, followed by a commercial for A&W Root Beer.

When we return, Carolyn Land is backstage with one-half of the Tag Team Champions, Mark Briscoe.

Carolyn: "Mark Briscoe, just moments ago, we saw your brother Jay come out with a loss against Rex Butler. It's been announced, earlier today, that because this is your last event with the MWWA, that the Tag Team Titles will be on the line. What are you thinking heading into your final match?"

Mark: "Well, to tell you the truth, it's not the best night of my career. MWWA is getting a new TV show, right here in the home of MWWA - Detroit, Michigan. And, at the same time, it's sort of a sad day because I can walk out as champion... but it would only leave Jay without a partner. So, we'll see what happens tonight..."

Briscoe walks away as we are brought back to the ring...

Halloween pinned Masao Orihara with the Halloween Driver in 12:31.

Backstage, we see Justin Credible with Carolyn Land...

Carolyn: "Justin Credible, we just heard that Mr. Kobyrn has granted you a title match in two weeks at Awakening against Heavyweight Champion Batista. What are your thoughts...?"

Justin: "My thoughts are simple: I'm a two-time MWWA Heavyweight Champion. I came out on the short end of the stick last week, but that's OK. If I have to wait another two weeks to step into the ring with Batista for the title... that's fine, because I won't let this opportunity pass me by."

Credible walks away as we go back to the ring...

Yoshihiro Takayama and Yuji Nagata defeated The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark& when Nagata made M. Briscoe submit to an achilles tendo hold in 14:35.

Mistico pinned Mickey Gambino after a high speed sunset flip in 6:45.
Rating: ** 1/2

Backstage, we see Jay Briscoe holding the Television Title, standing next to his brother Mark and Carolyn.

Carolyn: "Jay, tough loss tonight against Takayama and Nagata. How do you feel?"

Jay Briscoe: "Well, to tell you the truth, Carolyn, it's a sad moment. You know, I went out there tonight trying to send my brother home with a victory and to have him walk away as champion. But, unfortunately, our opponents wanted the titles more. Now, I'm not going to stand here and make excuses, but I think the fact remains that neither one of our heads were in the right place tonight. So, to Takayama and Nagata, I hope they enjoy the tag team titles. Because it won't be long before I return with a vengeance and take them back!"

Jay and Mark turn their backs to the camera as we go to break.

An ad for the "Awakening" pay-per-view is shown, hyping the Heavyweight Title Match between Batista and Justin Credible. That ad is followed by ads for the Playstayion 3 gaming console, Hardee's, and Vonage phone service.

We come back to the Joe Louis Arena where Rick Harris informs the crowd that Awakening will be like on pay-per-view in two weeks - live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Junji Hirata pinned Justin Credible with the Machine Suplex in 12:05.
Rating: *** 1/4

After the match, Hirata walks away from the ring, victorious as Justin Credible slowly gets to his feet.

Rick Harris: "Well, it's been a very interesting night - to say the least - here tonight in Detroit! Be sure to catch all the action of CARNAGE, next week on the FX Network, when we come to you live from Houston, Texas! For Walt Richardson, I'm Rick Harris. Goodnight, from Detroit!"

"CARNAGE" goes off the air as Justin Credible slowly makes his way to the back, holding the top of his head.

Fantastic. I guess I'll have to do some research as I'm not familiar with all of the people on your shows.

I much prefer the written out type show over the "Live Shows" which are more a list of matches strung together. I know they take longer to do but even the short form ones (Southern Championship Wrestling, my SCW, your 1st show for example) are much more enjoyable to read and I (as well as probably others) look forward to the next one to see what happened.

Keep up the good work!
