GLWF Action TV: 3/11/06...

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV and tonight should make for an interesting night.  Tonight is the night that we'll all find out the 12 teams that will be involved in the first ever GLWF Battlebowl.  We'll also see two great wrestlers in action as Alex Shelley faces Mr. Kennedy in singles action.  But to kick things off, we're going to hear from our brand new tag team champions!

The brand spanking new Great Lakes Tag Team champions make their way out to the ring with Tracy Taylor at their side.  High Impact try and make their speech, but before they can get more than a few words out they're interrupted by Lance Cade.  Cade says that it's all find and dandy that High Impact is nice enough to keep the titles warm for him, because this is the change he was talking about last week.  And High Impact will be the very first to get a little taste of Southern Justice!  With that said Cade charges the ring and out from the crowd comes another man!  It's Trevor Murdoch!  Cade and Murdoch attack Santorelli and Taylor.  The four men are duking it out.  They're evenly matched until Cade pulls a pair of brass knuckles out of his trunks and clocks Santorelli with them.  Taylor is still trying to fight off Murdoch, but now it has become two on one and those tend to not be good odds for any man.  Taylor tried, but was eventually unceremoniously dumped out of the ring after a brass knuckle shot of his own.  Santorelli and Taylor wanted to get back in the ring and fight, but Tracy Taylor kept them on the outside and the two teams only exchanged words.  If Cade was looking to make an impact I think he's done it along with his new partner Trevor Murdoch.  Murdoch gets on the microphone and says that while he's shown that he's one tough and mean son of a bitch by beating the hell out of the tag team champions he wants his official debut match right now.  Gertner comes out and tells High Impact that it's not going to be one of them that's facing Murdoch.  He's going to give them a breather after that unfair sneak attack and that in tonight's main event it'll be Mike Taylor going one on one with Lance Cade.  Trevor Murdoch will get a match right now though... against Delirious.

Delirious vs. Trevor Murdoch

Delirious hasn't had great luck in GLWF.  Well... I guess he really hasn't had any to speak of.  He may be a talented wrestler, but he's had a string of bad luck when it comes to the GLWF ring.  Tonight would be no exception.  Murdoch came to play.  He knew that he had to cement his first impression with a dominant win and that's what he did.  He dominated Delirious and used underhanded tactics that almost got him DQed despite not appearing to have needed to.  Murdoch finally put out Delirious after sailing off the top rope and hitting the bulldog to finish things off.

Trevor Murdoch pinned Delirious with the Top-Rope Bulldog in 0:05:07.

Last week we were told we'd find out the 12 teams that will participate in the Battlebowl and Joel Gertner was sitting backstage in his office ready to read the names off.  He reminded fans that these teams were put together at random and that the winning team from each match would be put into a battle royal to determine the #1 contender for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title held by Samoa Joe.  He also said that two wrestlers will be making their GLWF debuts during the Battlebowl.  Here are the teams: Delirious & Ron Killings... Alex Shelley & Roadkill... Hector Garza & Eric Young... Petey Williams & Tank Toland... Ernest Miller & Mistico... Rene Dupree & Trevor Murdoch... Josh Abercrombie & Tony Santorelli... Nigel McGuinness & Mr. Kennedy... Lance Cade & Mike Taylor... Sonny Siaki & GLWF newcomer Chris Sabin... Jimmy Jacobs & GLWF newcomer Homicide... and Austin Aries & Michael Shane!!

Alex Shelley vs. Mr. Kennedy

The match started with Mr. Kennedy attacking Alex Shelley before the bell.  Shelley had a hard time gaining an upper hand after the attack, but got some nice bits of offense in.  We'd later see that the deciding point came after Shelley went for a plancha after low bridging Kennedy and missed.  Shelley was hurting after hitting the floor and Mr. Kennedy could smell the blood in the waters.  He didn't just finish things then though.  He got a rather sadistic look in his eye and picked Shelley up off the floor.  He looked like he was about to roll Alex back into the ring, but instead sent him flying into the ring post.  He picked Shelley up again, hit a couple kneelifts and followed it with a big bodyslam onto the concrete.  He then rolled Shelley into the ring, climbed up top and hit the Kenton Bomb for three.

Mr. Kennedy pinned Alex Shelley after the Kenton Bomb in 0:10:46.

Main Event: Mike Taylor (w/Tracy Taylor & Tony Santorelli) vs. Lance Cade (w/ Trevor Murdoch)

High Impact was not at all pleased with what had transpired earlier in the evening.  Their celebration was interrupted by Cade and Murdoch, together known as Southern Justice, and this was their chance for redemption.  The opening of the match was very little wrestling and a whole lot of slugging.  Cade seemed to be a bit taken by surprise by Taylor's demeanor as he swung for the fences, trying to hit a homerun with Cade's face.  Tracy and Santorelli kept out of things, but it was only a matter of time before Murdoch just entered the ring with and started in on Taylor right in front of the ref causing the match to be thrown out.  Santorelli got in on the action at that point and the two teams were brawling in the ring.  It will be an absolute wonder if Cade and Taylor can go five seconds in their first Battlebowl match without trying to kill each other.  Southern Justice is getting the upper hand and look to have won this round as well, but High Impact are fighting back!  Santorelli and Taylor rip control away from Cade and Murdoch and as soon as they realize they're in trouble Southern Justice bail out and head for the hills!  High Impact is daring Southern Justice to get back in the ring as they are fully prepared to settle things right here and now, but Cade and Murdoch aren't about to get back in that ring tonight.

[Main Event]:
Mike Taylor defeated Lance Cade by disqualification in 0:06:05.

[Trevor Murdoch interfered against Mike Taylor.]

We knew that with teams put together at random that things in the Battlebowl are going to be quite interesting, but how are Cade and Taylor ever going to function as a team.  And speaking of controversy in the Battlebowl next week we'll start the Battlebowl off with a bang as Ernest Miller & Mistico face Rene Dupree & Trevor Murdoch.  The odd couple on opposite sides of the ring.  This could be disastrous for the bosom buddies and possibly their respective partners for the evening.  Aside from that we'll also see Television Champion Petey Williams in a non-title match against Eric Young and in the main event a second Battlebowl match as Alex Shelley & Roadkill take on Delirious & Ron Killings, who may have a distinct advantage if Shelley isn't back to 100% by next week.  Thanks for joining us tonight, we'll see you on the next edition of GLWF Action TV!
