What If... ECW (Update: August 1, 2006)

JakePosted on 04/25/07 at 19:40:45

What if...

Vince McMahon had decided against relaunching ECW? What if he pulled out of negotiations with the SciFi channel just weeks before ECWs relaunch? And what if Paul Heyman had convinced McMahon that ECW didn't need a TV spot? That all Heyman needed was the roster and a permanent home at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City?

Well, that's what I'm attempting to find out!

What if... Vince McMahon brought back ECW as a non-televised New York-based federation?

From The New Permanent Home of ECW: The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Interview:
Paul Heyman welcomes the crowd to the relaunch of ECW in the NEW "ECW Arena": The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. ECW is back, and just like before; it doesn't need Vince McMahon's lighting, it doesn't need Vince McMahon's Video-Trons, it doesn't need Vince McMahon's pyro, it doesn't need Vince McMahon's money, it doesn't... well, actually it does need Vince McMahon's money, but it's the thought that counts. ECW doesn't even need a television spot. No... Heyman suddenly pops out of the ring and to the audience, where he asks a fan for his video camera. Back in the ring, Heyman turns the camera around and continues. No, all ECW needs to survive is it's fans. It's what ECW was and what ECW will always be.

Now that all that sucking-up is out of the way, Heyman announces that later tonight he will present his first draft pick, "Mr. EC-fucking-W" Rob Van Dam with the newly reinstated ECW World Heavyweight Championship.

Then he asks for his second draft pick, the Olympic Gold Medalist: Kurt Angle. Angle's music begins playing and the new ECW superstar makes his way to the ring, seeming a bit disoriented without his accompanying pyro. The audience is solidly behind Angle; appreciative of his talent and commitment to the business. Heyman officially welcomes Kurt to ECW and then proceeds to put down Kurt Angle for walking out of ECW back in 1996. Kurt Angle couldn't handle the in-your-face attitude of ECW. Angle balked at the first offensive thing he saw, because he was afraid of losing something, whereas ECW was about putting everything on the line. Paul claims Kurt isn't EXTREME, and that he only drafted him because he's a vindictive son-of-a-bitch! He tells Kurt that he'll be in a #1 contenders LADDER match against one of the men who made ECW: The Suicidal, Homocidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Sabu. Angle stares a hole into the back of Heyman's head, as Paul E. leaves the ring. For what appears to be the first time, the crowd boos Heyman for his treatment of Angle, but a few cheers break out at the prospect of Kurt Angle vs Sabu in the Main Event.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Little Guido pinned Stevie Richards with the Arrivederci in 0:04:11.
Rating: ***

Match Observation:
Maybe if Stevie had kept the B.W.O. together, he might not have been distracted by the rest of the F.B.I. and could have fought off Little Guido. Or maybe if he weren't a red-blooded male, he would have kept his eyes off Trinity. Either way, he still lost.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Danny Doring pinned Justin Credible after an inside cradle in 0:08:08.
Rating: ** 3/4

Match Observation:
A decent back and forth match, that saw Doring picking up the win with a roll-up when Credible missed a Superkick.

Table Match:
The Full Blooded Italians (Big Guido and Tony Mamaluke) defeated The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney) when Big Guido defeated B. Mahoney by putting him through a table in 0:16:59.
Rating: *

Match Observation:
Balls Mahoney certainly lived up to expectations, nearly incapacitating Big Guido early on with multiple, vicious chairshots. Axl Rotten didn't have as much luck when going after Mamaluke, who made sure to keep his distance from the other half of the Chair Swingin' Freaks, allowing Little Guido to get the sneak attack after Axl was distracted by Trinity, who was barely covered in police tape. Balls was unable to fight off the F.B.I. and fell victim to a double suplex through the table. The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks are going to need some backup if they want to seek revenge.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
The Big Show pinned C.W. Anderson with the Choke Slam in 0:01:41.
Rating: * 3/4

Match Observation:
C.W. Anderson never got an opportunity to lay a finger on The Extreme Giant. Jumping to ECW really seems to have invigorated the 7-foot monster. He didn't toy with C.W., he merely crushed him when the bell rang.

Impromtu Interview:
The Big Show grabs a microphone and laments that ECW will be "easy" if this is the best they have. "Enter Sandman" blares over the PA as the Sandman makes his way through the crowd. The Big Show leaves the ring before Sandman can enter, but readily accepts Sandman's challenge to a Singapore Cane Match for next week.

Interview:
To thunderous applause, Rob Van Dam makes his way to the ring, showing off his new WWE Championship belt. "Cena sucks dick! Cena sucks dick! Cena sucks dick!" Rob says that he, himself, doesn't suck, but he may inhale every now and then. Paul Heyman is quick to make his way to the ring, carrying the ECW Championship over his shoulder. Paul Heyman proudly presents Rob Van Dam with the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, wishes him the best of luck, thanks RVD for everything and leaves to allow Van Dam to continue his speech. RVD thanks the fans for always having his back, and he's PROUD to finally wear a World Heavyweight title around his waist, much less two at the same time, especially since he'll easily break his own record that he set with the ECW World Television Championship. Howewver, before The Whole Fucking Show can continue, Heyman returns, cellphone in hand, and lets RVD know that John Cena will be here NEXT WEEK in a WWE Championship rematch. Van Dam says he's ready, but wonders if Cena is ready to deal with the pro-ECW, pro-RVD crowd once again. He also wonders if Kurt Angle is ready for Sabu.

No-Time-Limit-Number-One-Contenders-Ladder Match:
Sabu defeated Kurt Angle in 0:21:45.
Rating: **** 1/4
[Tazz interfered against Kurt Angle.]

Match Observation:
To say that this was a clash of styles would be putting it lightly. Kurt Angle had everything to prove in this match. And perhaps he did, managing to keep momentum mostly on his side; keeping Sabu out of his element, never letting up, never giving the Suicidal, Homocidal, Genocidal Maniac an opportunity to use his environment. Eventually, Angle goes for the ladder and sets it up, but quickly leaves the ring to retrieve a SECOND ladder. An attempt at ramming the ladder into a prone Sabu proves futile and turns things around for the ECW original. He sends Angle out of the ring and into the table set up near the ring. Laying Angle out on the table, Sabu runs back into the ring to the delight of the crowd and back out with a hands-free suicide dive, crashing into Kurt and through the table. He pushes the timekeeper from his chair to get one of his infamous weapons of destruction: a steel chair. Angle, somehow, manages to get back to his feet and into the ring. Sabu quickly follows, throws the chair to Angle and, in what had to be a sign of respect for the new ECW Champion, kick the chair into Angle's face. Angle lies on the mat motionless. Sabu eyes the second ladder left in the ring, takes a quick glance to the turnbuckle, and then to the fans, who cheer appreciatively, knowing what Sabu intends to do. Grabbing the ladder, Sabu climbs up the turnbuckle, and in a way that only Sabu could, attempts an Arabian Facebuster with the ladder! But Angle manages to roll away just seconds before Sabu's impact. Sabu grabs his legs in pain and screams out in agony. "HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!" Angle locks Sabu in the Ankle Lock, purposely targetting the surely injured leg of Sabu. Although this is a ladder match, Kurt refuses to release the hold as Sabu taps out; Kurt begans yelling to Paul Heyman that "This is what I think of ECW!" Suddenly, the lights go out and a familiar heart beat begins pounding over the PA. The crowd, which has slowly turned on Angle as he abuses Sabu, erupts into cheers knowing what awaits Angle. The lights come back on, "War Machine" replacing the dying heart beats, and Angle, still applying the Ankle Lock, doesn't realize that Tazz has entered the ring. Tazz grabs Angle and, to the crowds delight, begins choking Angle out with the Tazmission. He begins yelling at Sabu to "Get the fuck up!" Sabu slowly climbs his way up the ladder and to eventual victory. Tazz holds the choke-hold on Angle for another minute or so, until the referees manage to pull Tazz off the unconscious Angle.

Interview:
Tazz stands in the middle of the ring, slightly out of breath, revelling in the crowd's cheers before getting a microphone. The Human Suplex Machine challenges the "Olympic Gold Asshole" to a Submission Match next week. Tazz has waited a long time for this moment. Slowly preparing himself to destroy Kurt Angle. Tazz invited Angle to ECW in 1996, and he disrepected him by running away like a pussy. He will choke Kurt Angle out, and he'll be damned if he lets him survive.

June 20th, 2006
The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Interview:
As Justin Roberts finishes welcoming the crowd, Kurt Angle's music begins playing. The Olympic Gold Medalist makes his way to the ring, noticably rubbing his throat. The fans are fairly split on their opinion of Angle. Kurt quickly grabs a microphone and tells Tazz that "it's on." This appears to be all Angle wants to say, but as he goes to leave, "Walk" blares up as the new WWE & ECW World Heavyweight Champion suprises Angle and the crowd. RVD wants Angle to know that there's no hard feelings when it comes 1996. In fact, Van Dam wants to wish Angle good luck in his Submission Match with Tazz later tonight. Afterall, RVD wouldn't want Angle to "choke."

Angle says that's very noble of Van Dam. And, as a matter of fact, he'd like to wish RVD luck for his ECW Championship match against Sabu. Oh, Angle interrupts himself, Sabu was injured last week. Last week, in his match against Angle. Kurt walked out a bit sore due to that sneak attack from the brown Smurf, but unlike Sabu, Angle did WALK out. Rob's heard enough. After apologizing to Tazz, Van Dam makes his way to the ring.

He and Angle lock eyes, but both are caught off guard by the start of John Cena's music. The former WWE Champion, to the ECW's faithful fans' dismay, is here. He wants Angle and RVD to remember their respective matches later tonight. He especially wants RVD to be ready for their rematch tonight. Cena is here to reclaim his WWE Championship, regardless of what Paul Heyman, Edge, or even these fans may think or even attempt. Cena wants Rob Van Dam to be pumped, get the crowd behind him, get ready to "get high," whatever he has to do. Cena, for the third time in his relatively short career, will be a 3-time WWE Champion.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Mike Knox pinned Al Snow with the Whip It in 0:00:13.
Rating: DUD

Match Observations:
Mike Knox, meet Al Snow. Al Snow, meet the floor. The fans are very upset, as Mike Knox gave them relatively little time to gawk at his girlfriend, Kelly Kelly.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Stevie Richards made Tony Mamaluke submit to a bow-and-arrow submission in 0:05:06.
Rating: **
[Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney interfered against Tony Mamaluke.]
[Big Guido and Little Guido interfered against Stevie Richards.]

Match Observations:
Stevie Richards picks up the win here as Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten, with Francine in tow, run-in to run off the other members of the F.B.I., who attempted a 4-way beatdown on Richards. Mamaluke wasn't happy when his stablemates abandoned him and he definitely couldn't have been happy when he turned around and ate a Stevie-T, followed by a bow-and-arrow submission that forced him to submit.

Interview:
Following the match, the members of the F.B.I. made their way back to the ring for a good old-fashioned brawl. Paul Heyman made his way out, not to interrupt the brawl, because hey, the fans are loving it, but rather to announce that next week the team of Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, and Stevie Richards would be facing the three male members of the F.B.I. He told Trinity and Francine not to worry, as they'd be facing each other as well.

Singapore Cane Match:
The Sandman pinned The Big Show with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:07:00.
Rating: * 1/4
[Tommy Dreamer interfered against The Big Show.]

Match Observations:
Another one-sided match involving the Big Show. Big Show isn't taking anything for granted, especially the Hardcore Icon with a Singapore Cane in hand. Just as the Extreme Giant looked to be finishing off the Sandman, Tommy Dreamer appeared from out of nowhere and attacked the giant. Big Show wasn't too pleased and Choke Slammed the Innovator of Violence. However, this was all the time Sandman needed to get his Cane back and knock the Big Show out with a sickening shot to the face, followed by the White Russian Legsweep for the pin.

Post-Match:
The Sandman helps Tommy Dreamer up afterwards, who announces to the fallen Big Show "ain't nothing easy about ECW."

No-Countout-No-DQ-Submission Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Kurt Angle defeated Tazz when Tazz passed out in the Ankle Lock in 0:28:07.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match Observations:
Before the match starts, Paul Heyman makes his way to ring-side. He insures both Tazz and Angle that he's here only to watch a sure classic. In fact, Heyman grabs a chair and goes into the crowd. The bell rings and Kurt instantly tries for a German suplex, only to be countered and hit with a German from Tazz. Tazz follows up with a series of various suplexes, barely allowing Angle enough time to hit the mat before attempting another. While attempting a half-nelson suplex, though, Angle counters with a low-blow and finally hits the German suplex, not stopping with one, but eventually hitting ten on a still-dazed Tazz. Kurt then places Tazz in a chickenwing crossface, hoping to end this quickly, but Tazz fights his way out. Back on their feet, Kurt goes for an uppercut but Tazz catches him and hits a beautiful T-Bone Tazplex sending Angle over the top-rope and crashing down to the floor. Tazz attempts to grab Kurt when he starts to come up onto the apron, but Angle counters by grabbing Tazz's head and driving it into the ropes. Back in the ring, Angle hits another German suplex before locking Tazz in a standing leglock. Tazz kicks his way out and begins pummeling Angle with punches. Angle manages to punch back and soon Tazz and Kurt are trading blows. A rake to the eyes allows Kurt to break the cycle and hit a snap suplex. He goes back to Tazz's leg, turning another standing leglock into his Ankle Lock. Tazz tries to kick his way out of this, only for Angle to drop down and "grapevine" Tazz's leg. Tazz manages to reach the ropes and slingshot Angle back out of the ring. Tazz decides against going right after Angle, choosing to give his leg a few seconds of rest. Angle grabs a chair and runs back into the ring. A loud thud echoes throughout the arena when Angle slams the chair into Tazz's head. Tazz is bleeding profusely now as Angle turns the chair to Tazz's left leg. Angle, once again, puts Tazz in the Ankle Lock. Tazz is stunned and barely manages to answer referee Scott Armstrong's call. Tazz crawls his way to the chair, pulls Angle in with his legs and smacks the Olympic Gold Medalist in the face with the chair. Angle is now bleeding. Tazz can barely stand, a combination of his chair-battered leg and head. Tazz eventually reaches Angle and tries for the Tazmission, but Angle counters with a modified Angle Slam. Kurt covers Tazz, but it's a Submission Match. Somehow, Angle manages back to his feet and places Tazz back in the Ankle Lock. Tazz struggles with everything he has left to make it to the ropes, but after three grueling minutes, succumbs to the pain and passes out. A bloodied Kurt Angle drops the hold almost instantly and collapses to the mat.

Post-Match:
The crowd cannot believe what they've just seen. Tazz and Angle have brutalized and perhaps destroyed each other. Both showed absolutely no quit; the match only ending when neither man's body could go any further. Angle has certainly proved that he can be extreme and Tazz has proved that nothing about him has changed. Both men have to be carried out of the ring as the fans, and Paul Heyman, show their respect to the fallen warriors.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Rob Van Dam pinned John Cena with the Five Star Frog Splash in 0:25:55.
Rating: *****
(Rob Van Dam retained the WWE Championship.)
[Edge interfered against John Cena.]
[Kurt Angle interfered against Rob Van Dam.]

Match Observations:
Unlike Kurt Angle, it seems John Cena will never get this crowd behind him; heckling him before he even enters the ring. Cena, however, continues to play up to the crowd to prove that they aren't getting to him. Cena and Van Dam lock up to start, neither getting the upper hand. Both decide to trade blows, but Cena quickly out punches Rob. John misses a potential haymaker and RVD counters with a spinning leg kick which sends Cena to the ropes. Clothesline and both men are out of the ring. Cena grabs a chair and misses a shot, but Van Dam manages a Van Daminator that sends Cena into the crowd. RVD attempts a flying senton splash off the guardrail, but Cena catches him and hits the F-U on the concrete floor! Senior Referee Mickie Henson doesn't reach them in time, so Cena attempts a second F-U. RVD counters the move into a DDT. Instead of attempting a pin, Rob makes his way back to the guardrail for a second senton splash, but this time eats the floor. Cena pulls a nearby table and F-Us The Whole Dam Show through it. Cena attempts a pin but is suddenly mobbed by the hostile crowd. Security is unable to pull Cena from the crowd, but John manages to fight his way out. As the unruly crowd is pushed aside by security and police, John is rocked by a savate kick from RVD, sending him over the guardrail and away from the audience. Back into the ring, John Cena is able to take over again and manages to hit some of his so-called "Moves of Doom": 2 shoulderblocks, a spinout powerbomb, and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Almost like clockwork, as Cena pumps his Reebox, Edge appears and spears John Cena in the middle of the ring. Edge leaves the ring, once again a fan favorite. As he manages to get back on his feet, RVD notices the downed former Champion. Not wasting a second, Van Dam leaps to the top-rope, and the fans burst into boos when a still-bloodied Kurt Angle runs into the ring, pops up onto the turnbuckle and hits a powerful belly-to-belly suplex on RVD. Edge quickly runs back into the ring and spears Angle, sending the both of them crashing out of the ring. Cena slowly makes his way back to his feet, the crowd now throwing garbage into the ring. John Cena lifts Rob Van Dam up and hits the F-U. "FUCKING DIE! FUCKING DIE! FUCKING DIE!" Mickie Henson counts: one... two... KICKOUT! Rob Van Dam kicked out of the F-U! "RVD! RVD! RVD!" John Cena cannot believe it. He locks Van Dam in the STF-U. Rob struggles to make his way to the ropes as Edge runs back into the ring to break the hold. Angle stumbles his way back and Angle Slams the Rated R Superstar. He attempts to lock Rob in the Ankle Lock, but Sabu, noticably limping and chair in hand, runs Angle off and leaps to the top-rope. John Cena, prone on the mat, falls victim to an Atomic Arabian Facebuster. Sabu gets RVD back to his feet, and to the top turnbuckle. Five Star Frog Splash on John Cena. Sabu joins the crowd and Mickie Henson in counting the pinfall.

Interview:
Edge congratulates Rob Van Dam on retaining the WWE Championship. Especially since Edge is surely considered the top contender now. Paul Heyman interrupts the Rated R Superstar, claiming that the only top contender around is Sabu. In fact, next week, Rob Van Dam will be defending his ECW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time next week against Sabu. Edge says he doesn't care about the ECW Championship, only the WWE Championship. Heyman believes that Edge has a point. In fact, next week, Edge will get a WWE Title shot against Rob Van Dam. Next week's main event: A Four Way Dance. Rob Van Dam will defend his ECW Championship against Sabu and his WWE Championship against Edge. Edge comments that Heyman must really be showing his genius as that's only three competitors for a Four Way Dance. Paul E. retorts that's because Kurt Angle will be facing John Cena in a Qualifying Match to determine the fourth man. If Angle wins, he'll join Sabu in fighting for the ECW Title. Likewise, if Cena wins, he'll join Edge in going for the WWE Title.

The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Interview:
Edge makes his way to the ring. Tonight, he has news for everyone: For the second time this year, Edge is going to "shock the world" by winning tonight's Four Way Dance. It doesn't matter whether Angle or Cena makes it to the match. It doesn't matter if Sabu is still injured. Edge is walking out a champion tonight, and no one can stop him. You don't become a Rated R Superstar by following the rules, you simply make your own.

[Main Event Qualifier]: No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Kurt Angle defeated John Cena when John Cena passed out in the Ankle Lock in 0:08:52.
Rating: **** 1/4
[Sabu interfered against Kurt Angle.]

Match Observation:
Paul Heyman will catch a lot of flack for claiming that Kurt Angle isn't extreme. He survived a Ladder match against Sabu. He survived a hellacious Submission match against the Human Suplex Machine, Tazz. And now, Kurt Angle has defeated a fairly fresh John Cena in under ten minutes (even after a surprise attack from Sabu), insuring that he'll be wrestling for the ECW Championship later tonight. Angle, even bruised and battered, has to be considered a favorite in tonight's main event.

Post-Match:
Tazz comes out to congratulate Kurt Angle, not just for beating John Cena, something that few people have been able to pull off, but for beating Tazz last week. Not only that, he knocked the Human Suplex Machine out. He assures Kurt that it isn't over between them, but he'll let Angle deal with his ECW Championship match first.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Handicap-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
The Big Show defeated Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman when Show pinned Sandman with the Choke Slam in 0:22:33.
Rating: **

Match Observation:
The combined force of the Sandman and Dreamer wasn't enough for the angered Extreme Giant. The Big Show managed to survive a barrage of cane shots and deal his own form of punishment to put down the ECW Originals. Tommy Dreamer was taken out with a Choke Slam over the top-rope through a table, leaving the Sandman by himself to deal with the Big Show. Unfortunately, even a cane shot to the lower regions of the Big Show was not enough to stop the rampaging monster. The Sandman, favoring his back, had to be helped out of the ring following three Choke Slams.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Roadkill pinned C.W. Anderson after a belly-to-belly suplex in 0:13:33.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match Observation:
The Amish Chicken-Plucker picks up a win over the winless Anderson in his first singles match since ECWs relaunch. Roadkill looks to be in the best shape of his career and looks like he could go far in the new ECW.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Shelly Martinez pinned Jazz with the Tornado DDT in 0:07:03.
Rating: *** 1/4
[A masked individual interfered against Jazz.]

Match Observation:
"The Voluptous" Shelly Martinez, in her ECW debut match, picks up the win over the veteran Jazz. Of course, the masked assailant who attacked Jazz certainly didn't hurt Shelly's chances.

Post-Match:
Shelly runs up to the masked attacker, who removes his mask to reveal a bleach-blond Kevin Mordecai. He proclaims that "God's work is still unfinished," before passionately kissing Shelly.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match with Managers Banned From Ringside:
The Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks (Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney) and Stevie Richards defeated The Full Blooded Italians (Big Guido, Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke) when B. Mahoney pinned Mamaluke after a power bomb in 0:27:01.
Rating: ****

Match Observation:
In honor of his partners, Stevie proclaimed himself as "The Softcore Chair Swingin' Idiot." Nothing could be further from the truth as Stevie may have taught a thing or two to Balls and Axl about how to wield a steel chair. Within five minutes, Richards had knocked Little Guido out after a horrific shot to the head. The "Sicilian Shooter" had to be carried out of the ring, leaving his fellow F.B.I. members alone against the trio of Richards, Balls, and Axl. The three took their time in seeking their vengeance against their attackers from the past two weeks.

No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match with Managers Banned From Ringside:
Trinity pinned Francine after a rana in 0:14:56.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match Observation:
Francine put up quite the effort, but came up a little short in her match against Trinity. Francine managed to kick out of two moonsaults before being pinned with a rana.

Post-Match:
Big Guido, still bleeding, comes to the ring to congratulate Trinity on her win and lets everyone know that Little Guido is fine. However, that "chair swinging blowhard" Richards is going to pay for hurting a member of his family. Next week, Big Guido takes on Stevie Richards in a Chairshot Survival Match.

Interview:
As Justin Roberts prepares to announce the next match, Paul Heyman rushes to the ring and whispers something to Roberts and takes the microphone from him. Heyman announces that the following Four Way Dance is now an elimination match, and it is SOLELY for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. The Defending Champion: Rob Van Dam. The first challenger: Sabu. The second challenger: Kurt Angle. The final challenger and newest addition to the ECW roster: Edge!

No-Countout-No-DQ-Four Corners Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Edge defeated Rob Van Dam, Sabu and Kurt Angle:
x Edge beat K. Angle via the Spear in 0:08:20
x RVD beat Sabu via the Five Star Frog Splash in 0:10:34
x Edge beat RVD via the Spear in 0:30:42
Rating: ****
(Edge won the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.)

Match Observation:
The injuries that Sabu and Angle have racked up in the past two weeks have caught up to the two superstars, who were eliminated early on by Edge and Van Dam. If Edge was hoping that RVD was still feeling the pain from his match with John Cena last week, he was surely disappointed. Rob was at his best, eliminating Sabu mere moments after Edge had put down Kurt Angle. RVD almost sneaked out a win with a crafty roll-up, countering a spear attempt by Edge. Eventually Edge got the upper-hand on Van Dam when he slipped while attempting a slingshot senton splash, that seemingly took RVD out of his game. Rob managed to counter a DDT attempt by Edge, but it was merely a ploy to make RVD vunerable to a spear and the win for the newest ECW star.

Post-Match:
With a smirk on his face and standing over Rob Van Dam, Edge lifts the ECW World Heavyweight Championship over his head. The Rated "X" Superstar is here to stay.

July 4th, 2006
The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Interview:
The show opens with the new ECW Champion, Edge, walking to the ring. He's dressed for action and sporting a wide grin. Edge hates to say it, but he told you so. He said he'd shock the world, and he did. Edge said he would walk out a champion, but everyone assumed he was referring the WWE Championship. Edge has been there, he's done that. But he's never been ECW World Champion. He's beaten the WWE guys time and time again, but the Rated X Superstar hasn't had the pleasure of dismantling ECW. He and Mick Foley may have beaten Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk, but he's not done yet. He beat Rob Van Dam for the ECW Title. How embarrassing for Extreme Championship Wrestling; they're going to be destroyed by their own World Champion. And no one is going to stop the Rated X Superstar. Edge goes on to say that apparantely, he was supposed to be facing RVD in a title re-match tonight, but it seems that Van Dam was pulled over somewhere in Ohio over the weekend, so he can't be here tonight. So now Edge is supposed to be facing someone who Paul Heyman suggests represents the not only the heart, but the strength of ECW.

Tazz appears at the top of the entrance ramp. He's sick and tired of these WWE elitists thinking that they're better than ECW. ECW wasn't just some wrestling organization, it was a way of life. Tazz gave his heart, his soul and his body to ECW and he'll be damned if some punk is going come into his home and mock it. The only thing that bothers Tazz is that Paul Heyman is allowing the match to be non-title. But it doesn't matter, because the Human Suplex Machine will ensure that Edge won't continue to spit on the legacy of ECW much longer.

Non-Title:
Tazz and Edge battled to a time-limit draw in 0:30:00.
Rating: **** 1/4

Post-Match:
Paul Heyman makes his first appearance of the night. Heyman explains that when Edge offered to join ECW that he had no choice but to do it. Regardless of the fact that Edge is the ECW Champion, Paul will not allow him to run down the organization that has been given a new lease on life. If Edge is going to be ECW Champion, then he will be defending that Championship at every given opportunity. Next week, Edge will defend his ECW Championship against the #1 contender: Sabu!

It is also Paul Heyman's unfortunate duty to announce that, via a decision by Vince McMahon, Rob Van Dam is now the exclusive property of WWE RAW so long as RVD is the WWE Champion. Heyman is just as upset as the fans, but says that his hands are tied.

As Heyman heads to the back, Kurt Angle comes out and reminds Tazz that things aren't over between them, but next week, they will be. He challenges Tazz to an I Quit Match. Tazz readily accepts.

Jazz pinned Trinity with the Fisherman Buster in 0:10:01.
Rating: ** 3/4

Post-Match:
As Jazz attempts to leave the ring, Trinity jumps her from behind. The only female member of the F.B.I. is not pleased that her one-victory undefeated streak is over. She attempts a piledriver on the ECW original, but Jazz blocks it and hits another Fisherman Buster on the Full-Bodied Italian.

Pre-Match:
C.W. Anderson comes to the ring and gets on the microphone. Tonight he turns his luck around and will pick up his first win. He challenges anyone in the back to a match right now. Mike Knox, with the lovely Kelly Kelly around his arm, immediately answers the challenge.

Mike Knox pinned C.W. Anderson with the Whip It in 0:04:19.
Rating: ** 1/4

Post-Match:
Another loss for C.W. Anderson, another easy win for Mike Knox. The crowd is absolutely in love with Kelly Kelly, who seems appreciative of the response she's receiving. Mike is a little leery of the crowd, but picks up Kelly and sits her on his shoulders.

After pulling himself up, Anderson's shocked to see "The Voluptous" Shelly Martinez standing in the ring, offering her hand to him. She goes to kiss Anderson, but then pushes him into the ropes, where Kevin Mordecai is waiting, chair in hand. Anderson is busted upon after a shot to the face. Kevin Mordecai yells to the crowd that "this is just the beginning."

####

Tommy Dreamer pinned The Big Show with the Dreamer DDT in 0:11:11.
Rating: **

Post-Match:
Tommy Dreamer has pulled off the seemingly impossible. The Innovator of Violence took it the Extreme Giant, using everything not nailed to the floor to attack the Big Show, alternating between shots to his head and legs. A failed attempt at the Choke Slam from the ring apron allowed to Tommy Dreamer to get the win after a huge DDT off the ring apron and through a convenietly placed table.

Tommy Dreamer rolls off the downed Extreme Giant. He grabs a microphone and informs the Big Show that he's been officially welcomed into ECW.

As you may or may not know, my computer has kicked the bucket. With it goes every single thing to do with my copies of TNM7, including my ECW Circuit. My only means of internet access (or computer use) at this point in time (and for the foreseeable future) is my brother's computer. So I'm forced to shut down my ECW Circuit... right as I was set to start updating again.

The moral of the story: OBTAIN A THUMB-DRIVE AND BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP YOUR TNM7! No excuses.

That is all. :(
JakePosted on 05/24/07 at 17:31:55

My brother has managed to salvage my hard drive. So.... ECW may be returning soon. ;D
wicked_rexPosted on 05/24/07 at 17:35:50

Very cool! Glad to hear that at least some of it was saved.

Pre-Match:
C.W. Anderson stands defiantely in the ring. Last week, he was ruthlessly attacked by some nutjob named Kevin Mordecai. Before he can continue, he is interrupted by "The Voluptuous" Shelly Martinez. She tells Anderson that he should be honored that Kevin is starting his "salvation of ECW" with him. When Mordecai is finished, Anderson will be allowed to seek repentence and a place by Kevin's side.

Kevin Mordecai pinned C.W. Anderson with the Crucifix Powerbomb in 0:19:24.
Rating: **** 1/2

Post-Match:
As Kevin and Shelly attempt the leave the ring, C.W. jumps them. Shoving Shelly aside, he begins pummeling the zealot with punches. Shelly attempts to pull him off, only to be shoved aside again. Anderson attacks the guardrail with the chair out of frustration.

Rating: *****

Post-Match:
Big Guido picks Tony Mamaluke up, and they survey the damage. All four men are badly sliced open and drenched in blood. But Guido and Mamaluke have won this war for the F.B.I. Steven Richards was destroyed last week and Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney have joined him tonight.

Rating: **** 1/4

I guess this is the only place to get my Shelley fix now that the WWE let emotion get in the way of business by letting her go.

I sense a swerve with Mike Knox.

Edge makes for a perfect ECW World Champion. Although, it looks like Sabu might have his number.

Kurt Angle and Tazz once again deliver an excellent main event. If Sabu can't take the title, I think Kurt Angle might be the man. Looks like you got a decent main event scene going here.
JakePosted on 06/19/07 at 22:58:27

I apologize for this show. It's absolute garbage. I've spent the last 2 weeks or so trying to make this show work and it just won't. So I'm just going to post it as is and get on with things. I should have the next 2-3 shows up sooner than normal.

July 18th, 2006
The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Pre-Match: Al Snow is standing in the ring.

Al Snow: Apparently some newcomer has made an open challenge for tonight and I'm out here to accept it. I gladly welcome the chance to teach the new blood how it's done in ECW...
Without warning, someone in a black hoodie jumps the guardrail and into the ring and attacks Al Snow. Quickly laying him out with a Uranage, the hooded assailant motions for a referee, but not before being blindsided by Snow. Al rips the hood off, revealing none other than C.M. Punk. The ref hits the ring and the match officially begins.

C.M. Punk made Al Snow submit to the Anaconda Vice in 0:12:54.
Rating: *** 1/4

Post-Match: The debuting C.M. Punk continues his assault on Al Snow. Laying him out in the middle of the ring with another Uranage, C.M. Punk ducks out of the ring and grabs a chair, as well as a microphone. On his way back in, he notices and picks up Head. He places Head on Snow's chest and destroys it with a chair shot.

C.M. Punk: (over the booing crowd) I have a few words for you, Al Snow. As well as these fans and the boys in the back... I'm Straight Edge. I'm Hardcore. I'm here. I'm better than you. And to prove it, I'm laying down another open challenge for next week.
Before Punk can leave the ring, however, Tommy Dreamer emerges from backstage.

Tommy Dreamer: Gee, another "punk" who thinks he's above ECW? Where have I heard that before? Oh, right, The Big Show. You know, that 7'foot, 500-and-something ton wad of trash? I haven't seen him around here since I beat his ass a few weeks back. So, since I'm not busy, I'll accept your little challenge. You think just because you tagged a guy from behind means you're going to make it here? Bring your sneak attacks and bring your silly "punk" attitude next week, and we'll see where it gets you.
--

In-Ring Promo:
Paul Heyman: Ladies and gentlemen, it is my duty to inform you that the Big Show has expressed disinterest in futhering his career here in ECW. Therefore, I have come to a trade agreement with SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long. SmackDown! has now acquired the Big Show and I have acquired two former ECW talents. Unforunately, neither of these two men will be making their returns tonight, but I can promise you that they'll be back soon enough.

It is also my privilege to announce that tonight's main event will feature two of RAW's top superstars. The reigning ECW Champion, Edge, will team up with John Cena (the crowd boos)... now, now. Tonight, Edge and John Cena will team up to face the #1 Contender to the ECW Title, Kurt Angle, and his partner, the WWE Champion, ROB... VAN... DAM! Now, should Edge and Cena manage to win tonight's main event, then next week, John Cena... (the crowd begins to boo again) ... Then next week, John Cena will get another shot at the WWE Championship right here in this very ring. But, regardless of who wins tonight, two weeks from now, Edge will put his ECW World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the Olympic Extremist, Kurt Angle! And to ensure that this time we have a clear winner, their match will take place with no time limits.
As Heyman prepares to leave the ring, Edge's music hits as the ECW World Champion makes his way out.

Edge: This is complete crap, Heyman! I am the ECW World Heavyweight Champion! I am not just some lackey you throw in matches like this.

Paul Heyman: You know, Edge, you're right. Forget the tag team main event. Instead, your title match against Kurt Angle is tonight...

Edge: No! That is not fair! You can't just spring a World Title match without letting me get ready first! Besides, we already have a tag team main event! I have no problem beating both Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam again tonight. Hell, it doesn't even matter who my partner is. You see, I've held numerous World Tag Team Championships, with various partners over the years. I may not have invented tag team matches, but you bet your ass I certainly revolutionzed them. You also need to learn to treat your World Champ with respect. No wonder ECW failed before; not only did you not have the presence of the Rated X Superstar, you also have no class, Heyman.

Paul Heyman: Heh, this coming from the guy who slept with his best friend's girl. That's classic! I sure hope Larry the Cable Guy hasn't given up his day job!
Edge begins to make his way to the ring, until he is stopped by the entrance of Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle: Hey, why don't you stop worrying about Heyman and start worrying about your soon-to-be broken ankle? Two weeks from tonight, I'm taking the ECW Title home. In fact, I'm so positive about it, bucko, that I might just let you have it easy tonight in our tag team match. It's been a while since I've beaten John Cena anyways.

Edge: Hey, Kurt? Have you looked in a mirror lately? Surely you haven't, because if you had, you'd see that friendly reminder I left you. Remember when I beat you and shaved you bald? Four years may have passed since the last time you and I tangled, but trust me, in two weeks, it's going to happen again. Whatever small amount of dignity you have left; I'm taking it. No one, not you, not Heyman, nobody can take this ECW Championship away from me! I am the Rated X Superstar! I am ECW! And you, Angle, you're just an Olympic piece of crap!
Edge jumps the guardrail and makes his way through the crowd to the back. Angle, looking slighly amused, just smiles at Paul Heyman.

--

Pre-Match: Ring announcer Justin Roberts announces that the next match is a rematch from last week featuring C.W. Anderson versus Kevin Mordecai. The winless C.W. Anderson, chair in hand, makes his way to the ring. Suddenly the lights darken as ominous music fills the arena. As the lights return to normal, a now-black haired Kevin Mordecai, with "The Voluptuous" Shelly Martinez at his side, stands defiantely in the ring.

C.W. Anderson pinned Kevin Mordecai with the Anderson Spinebuster in 0:08:19.
Rating: ** 1/2

Post-Match: C.W. Anderson finally wins a match in the relaunched ECW! However, the victory doesn't seem to have cheered up the Enforcer as he can be seen mumbling angrily to himself as he heads to the back.

Back in the ring, Shelly Martinez attempts to console the defeated Mordecai... only to slap him back down.

Shelly Martinez: I KNEW IT! You're nothing but a miserable failure! I could see it in your eyes from day one. YOU ARE PATHETIC! If this is how you plan to "save us", you can do it on your own. I'm through with you. Unlike you, I *can* get the job done!
--

Mike Knox pinned Danny Doring with the Whip It in 0:05:18.
Rating: **

Match Observations: Another impressive win for the undefeated Mike Knox. Unfortunately, the fans just weren't behind Knox tonight as his girlfriend Kelly Kelly is conspicously absent from ring side.

--

Pre-Match: Shelly Martinez makes her way back to the ring.

Shelly Martinez: Now that I've dropped that useless sack, Mordecai, I can finally get things done here in ECW. Of course, to accomplish this, I will need a little bit of help. Which is why I'm pleased to introduce ECW's newest vixen: Victoria!
Victoria quickly makes her way into the ring to join Shelly.

Shelly Martinez: And to prove what I'm capable of... I'm issuing an open challenge. Right here. Right now.
Not wasting much time, Jazz comes out to accept the challenge.

Shelly Martinez pinned Jazz with the Tornado DDT in 0:06:49.
Shelly Martinez suffered an elbow injury. She will be out for approximately 1 card.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Victoria interfered against Jazz.]

Post-Match: Shelly rushes up to Victoria and gives her a hug. Victoria returns the favor in her own sick and twisted way by attacking The Voluptuous One and laying her out with the Widow's Peak.

--

Tag Team Main Event:
Edge and John Cena defeated Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam when J. Cena pinned K. Angle with the F-U in 0:25:51.
Rating: *****

Match Observations: Oddly enough, the team of Edge and John Cena worked coherently together. Edge now holds a victory over Kurt Angle going into their ECW World Heavyweight Championship match in just two weeks, and John Cena has earned another title shot against WWE Champion Rob Van Dam next week.

Card rating: *** 3/4

Hey... it's good to see the latest installment, finally! I like the new layout with the color schemes, etc. Glad to see the Big Show deal was able to go through; it'll be interesting to see how your newest members transition to ECW. It looks like karma caught up with Shelly Martinez as she left Mordecai and then suffered her arm injury. Looks like she couldn't get the job done like she thought! I love the crowd reaction Cena and look forward to the match with RVD next week.
JakePosted on 07/24/07 at 16:19:35

Over a month since the last show. The whole Benoit tradegy really took away my fun in doing this, so that's why it's taken so long.

Again, this isn't one of my better shows, but it is what it is.

July 25th, 2006
The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Tonight's card is highlighted by a double main event. First, the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, will team up with The Full Blooded Italian's Little Guido and Big Guido to take on Sabu, Taz and #1 Contender, Kurt Angle in a six-man tag team match! Then, Raw's John Cena faces off against ECW favorite Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship!

--

C.M. Punk calmly makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand.

C.M. Punk: Once again, my name is C.M. Punk. I am Straight Edge, I am Hardcore and I'm better than you. Tommy Dreamer, you chose to stick your nose into my business last week. I don't appreciate it one bit. So tonight, you have the honor of being the latest stepping stone on my path to the top. So, do yourself a favor and get down here, and it'll all be over soon.

(Roughly 30 seconds pass by.)

I don't blame you for not showing up. You have obviously noticed that C.M. Punk isn't someone to be taken li...
Taking a page out of the book of C.M. Punk, Dreamer emerges from the crowd and blindsides C.M. Punk with a chairshot to the back of the head.

C.M. Punk pinned Tommy Dreamer after the Uranage in 0:12:10.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match Observations: Even taking a dose of his own medicine wasn't enough to put down C.M. Punk. The brash newcomer managed to battle his way back to eventual victory over Tommy Dreamer.

Post-Match: C.M. Punk tries to grab a weapon to continue his assault on Dreamer, but he's beaten to the punch as Tommy refuses to stay down. Their brawl leads both men over the guardrail and into the audience. Only after shoving a young woman in Dreamer's path does C.M. Punk finally manage to slip away.

The Sandman pinned Tony Mamaluke with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:05:13.

As Kurt Angle stands alone in the ring, the ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, appears at the entrance ramp. Both men stare each other down, with Angle motioning for Edge to step into the ring. Much to the chagrin of the crowd, Edge opts to stay at the entrance.

Edge: Just one more week, Kurt. If you'd like to back down, there's still plenty of time.

Kurt Angle: Back down? From you? Edge, I wouldn't back down from you even if you actually had some fight in you. Let's face it, you're only the ECW Champion because you pulled another fast one and stole a title that you had no right fighting for.

Edge: Stole?! No, that is not the truth! I had an opportunity, and I took it! This industry, this business doesn't just hand out shots like that, so when you get 'em, you take 'em. I got an opportunity at the ECW World Heavyweight Championship and I sure as hell took it. And look where it got me, Kurt. Look where it got me! I'm the ECW Champion!

Kurt Angle: Opportunity? Puh-lease! I earned my opportunities in that ring. No one ever handed me a damn thing! I have an extensive list of superstars that I've beaten and taken championships from. I've defeated the Rock, Brock Lesnar, Hulk Hogan, Triple H. Heck, I've even made Stone Cold Steve Austin tap out! No one ever handed me those opportunites, I busted my ass and earned them! And come next Tuesday, I look forward to adding your name and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship to my list, Edge. Once I lock you in the Ankle Lock, you'll have no choice but to tap out.

Edge: Trust me, Kurt, I'm looking forward to next week just as much as you are. Face it, you couldn't beat me four years ago, and you sure as hell won't beat me now. I am the Rated X Superstar. Whether it's defending my ECW Title or facing a bunch of has-beens in the ring later tonight, I always make an impact. And you can bank on that.
--

Stevie Richards stands in the ring, awaiting his opponent, as Paul Heyman stands at ring side.

Paul Heyman: Ladies and gentlemen, last week you may recall I mentioned two former ECW superstars would be making their returns to ECW. The first of these two makes his return right here, right now. Please, give a warm welcome back.... to SUPER CRAZY!
Super Crazy pinned Stevie Richards with the Trifecta in 0:08:57.
Rating: *** 3/4

Match Observations: Super Crazy makes his return to ECW in style by decisively defeating Stevie Richards tonight. Super Crazy appears to be a little more motivated in his performance, perhaps due to the more impactful style of ECW as compared to his tenure on SmackDown!

--

Balls Mahoney makes his way to the ring, still showing scars after his and Axl Rotten's war with the Full Blooded Italians that concluded in the Barbed Wire Match just two weeks ago. Regardless of not being at 100%, Balls looks ready to compete against his opponent, Roadkill.

Roadkill pinned Balls Mahoney with the Amish Bomb in 0:12:27.
Rating: *** 3/4

Post-Match: Danny Doring appears at the entrance ramp, applauding his former tag team partner on his victory. Axl Rotten emerges from backstage to check on Balls Mahoney. Both Roadkill and Doring eye the Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks, but Axl is too occupied with Mahoney to notice.

--

Kurt Angle, Sabu and Taz defeated The Full Blooded Italians (Big Guido and Little Guido) and Edge when Sabu pinned Edge with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:32:47.
Rating: *****

Match Observations: Edge may have thought he had gained an advantage over Kurt Angle by defeating him last week in tag team action, but it may have completely disappeared tonight as he suffers his first defeat in his relatively short tenure in ECW.

--

Jazz pinned Victoria with the Fisherman Buster in 0:05:12.
Rating: ** 1/2
[Shelly Martinez interfered against Victoria.]

Match Observations: Victoria certainly made quite the impression last week, as she appeared beside Shelly Martinez only to turn on her following her match against Jazz. This week, Shelly, who's left arm was in a sling following a minor injury last week, returned the favor during Victoria's match against Jazz.

Shelly Martinez: Hey, Victoria. Don't mind the sling, because next week I won't be needing it. But I suspect that you might. You made the biggest mistake last week when you attacked me. If you even think for one second that you're going to make a name for yourself here on my account, you must be crazy.
--

WWE Championship Main Event:
John Cena pinned Rob Van Dam with the F-U in 0:25:58.
Rating: **** 1/4
(John Cena won the WWE Championship.)
[Edge interfered against Rob Van Dam.]

Match Observations: Edge, true to his word, certainly made an impact tonight. Although John Cena was able to hold his own against Rob Van Dam, it ultimately took an unrequested assist from Edge for Cena to recapture the title.

Post-Match: John Cena confronts Edge in the ring about his interference. Rob Van Dam tries to intervene but is rocked with a knock-out blow from John Cena! Cena and Edge shake hands as the audience begins hurling trash into the ring. An attempted beatdown of RVD by the two is stopped by the sudden emergence of Taz, Sabu and the #1 Contender, Kurt Angle. Cena and Edge manage to flee the ring as Sabu gives chase after Edge. Kurt Angle tends to Rob Van Dam when suddenly Taz attacks him from behind. The Human Suplex Machine locks Kurt in the Tazmission as the security guards try and hold back the near-rioting crowd.

Slowly rising to his feet, Van Dam tries to stop Taz, only to be put back down via a Spear from Edge. Content that he's knocked Angle out, Taz releases the submission hold and extends his hand to the ECW Champion. Edge accepts the handshake.

Edge: Hey, Angle? I'm really looking forward to next week now. I hope you still are.

i like this fed....i like this fed a lot....where has it been?
VertigoPosted on 07/26/07 at 20:21:22

I like the color usage, but I preferred the original logo you were using. I think I also favored your old style of recapping promos and such rather than doing the word for word promos.

But cosmetics aside, the fed is excellent. Your storylines are easy to follow and are what keep me reading. I get good visuals from your descriptions and Hammerstein has always been one of the coolest places for a wrestling event.

I'm glad Cena took the title off of RVD. Hopefully this will allow more focus strictly on the ECW World Title. You're also building up a tag team division which may lend a hand on introducing a Tag Team Championship. Don't know if I'm digging Taz extending a hang to Edge because, well Tazz doesn't really trust anyone let alone offer his hand first. But you may have something in mind.

This show was written months ago, but I never got around to posting it. It's another crap show. But I want to go ahead and get it out there. Planning a "relaunch" of sorts with the next show. Hope to have it up soon.

August 1st, 2006
The Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Tonight, Kurt Angle finally gets his long-awaited shot at Edge's ECW World Heavyweight Championship in a No Time Limit match! Can the Olympic Extremist finally end Edge's reign at the top of ECW?

Last week, C.M. Punk defeated long-time ECW veteran Tommy Dreamer in a close match, but afterwards Dreamer wasn't finished. The two brawled into the audience until Punk managed to escape. Tonight, Tommy looks to finish things as he faces C.M. Punk in a rematch!

--

Shelly Martinez and Jazz are standing in the ring. Shelly comments that she was supposed to be facing Victoria one-on-one tonight, but apparantely the match has been changed into a tag team match. She wonders who would be stupid enough to team with that "psycho."

Victoria, looking a bit unhinged after being called a "psycho" makes her way to the ring with Trinity at her side.

Shelly Martinez and Jazz defeated Victoria and Trinity when Jazz pinned Victoria with the Fisherman Buster in 0:14:06.

Before Justin Roberts can announce the next match, Tommy Dreamer and C.M. Punk emerge from backstage, already brawling.

C.M. Punk made Tommy Dreamer submit to the Anaconda Vice in 0:14:52.
Rating: **** 1/4

C.M. Punk quickly releases his Anaconda Vice submission hold as the bell rings. Punk stands and raises his arms in victory. He motions to the audience that he's only getting started. He's a bit startled when he turns around to see Dreamer back on his feet, offering his hand to the undefeated Punk. C.M. Punk stares intently at Dreamer's outstretched hand before walking away. The crowd doesn't appreciate Punk's lack of respect for his opponent and begins pelting him with boos and even some garbage. Punk stops at the entranceway and looks back at Dreamer before turning and leaving.

Super Crazy pinned Little Guido with the Trifecta in 0:17:52.
Rating: **** 1/4

Post-Match: Little Guido stops Super Crazy in the middle of the ring and offers him his hand. Super Crazy seems a bit hesitant to shake his hand, but eventually does so. As Super Crazy attempts to leave, Little Guido holds onto Crazy's hand. Almost on cue, Big Guido and Tony Mamaluke appear and start attacking Super Crazy. The Full Blooded Italians continue to stomp on Super Crazy when suddenly someone jumps the guardrail and rushes into the ring. Mamaluke is taken down by a running Big Boot. The fans quickly realize that the man in the ring is none other than Test! Test throws Little Guido over the top rope with ease and then turns to face Big Guido. The two begin trading punches, but Test manages to out-brawl Big Guido and sends him packing with a clothesline over the top rope. Test motions for the F.B.I. to get back in the ring, but the Full Blooded Italians don't seem interested. Test offers his hand to Super Crazy and helps him back to his feet before holding Super Crazy's hand up in victory.

Taz made Rob Van Dam submit to the Tazmission in 0:20:58.
Rating: *****

Taz motions for a microphone. He quickly establishes that his actions last week were not him turning his back on ECW, but rather a show of respect to the ECW World Heavyweight Champion. But just because he respects Edge, doesn't mean Taz won't be coming after him and the ECW Title.

No Time Limit Main Event:
Edge pinned Kurt Angle with the Spear in 0:45:11.
Rating: *****
(Edge retained the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.)

Post-Match: Edge clutches the ECW Championship to his chest, noticeably shocked that he cleanly defeated Kurt Angle. Edge holds the championship belt high as he leaves the ring and heads backstage.

Kurt Angle slowly crawls to his feet, the frustration of defeat clearly written across his face. Regardless of his loss, the ECW fans give him a standing ovation, though Angle is unsure of how to react. Paul Heyman emerges from backstage, microphone in hand. As he gets closer to the ring, Heyman drops the microphone and joins the crowd in applauding Kurt Angle.

Heyman addresses Angle, telling him that he put up one hell of a fight. It goes without saying that Angle will get another opportunity to hold the ECW Championship. In fact, Kurt Angle won't be the only person to potentially get that shot, because next week, Paul has two major announcements that will greatly affect the ECW Championship as well as the future of ECW itself.
