MCPW Live
Calihan Hall
Detroit, MI
-08/03/07-

Welcome back to MCPW Live. We head backstage as were told something is going on. When the camera arrives we see Samoa Joe and AJ Styles going at each other. Styles picks up a trash can and slams it on the back of Joe. Styles calls in the rest of the Coalition and Hass and Benjamin come over and start to stump on Joe. Joe tries to mount a comeback but is cut down when Cage blasts him with the Heavyweight belt. Jo Falls to floor as Styles starts to kick on him again. Out of no where Brock Lesnar takes out Hass then Benjamin. He turns for Cage but Aries and Smith come in and jump Lesnar. Security quickly reaches the area along with Bill DeMott and they soon get control of the situation. Cage is yelling at Lesnar. Styles are yelling at Joe. Joe is trying to get his hands on Styles. DeMott tells everyone to quiet down. He then says that since it seems nobody can wait till Chicago, tonight's main event will be Joe and Lesnar vs. Cage and Styles. DeMott then tells security to make sure these stay away from each other till then. Joe yells put one last thing but Styles just smiles as we get set for our first match of the night.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick defeated
The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) when
B. Kendrick defeated C. Haas by disqualification in 0:08:35.
Rating: ** 1/2

The World's Greatest Tag Team went into this one a little bruised up thanks to Lesnar and Joe but still put on one hell of a match. London and Kendrick took advantage of the pre show activities and started to ware down the WGTT. Shelton Benjamin got disqualified when he shoved the ref out the ring.

Irish Airborne (Lotus and Crazy J) defeated
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) when Lotus pinned M. Briscoe
after an Asai moonsault bodyblock in 0:12:50.
Rating: *** ½

Our second match to see what three teams will face off next week pitted the Briscoe Brothers and the Irish Airborne. The Briscoes have been hovering just shy of the title scene and look to be ready to make that jump but the former champs were ready and did what they needed to get another shot at the titles.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam Pearce and Shark Boy defeated
The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) when A. Pearce pinned
R. Reyes with the Jumping Piledriver in 0:16:03.
Rating: ****

the last of our three qualifying matches had Adam Pearce and Shark Boy going up against the Havana Pittbulls. Pearce and Shark Boy were felling it from the sold out crowd and was able to pick up the big win.

In the locker room

Samoa Joe was pacing back and forth talking about Styles and Cage crossed the line and how he was going to tear them both a new one. Lesnar told Joe to calm down and concentrate on Styles, Cage was his. He then said after he gives Cage an F5 from hell tonight, next week in Chicago he will take the MCPW title and take out the Coalition one by One.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin Aries and Harry Smith defeated Chase Stevens and CM Punk when Harry
defeated Punk when Punk passed out in a standing wristlock in 0:06:05.
Rating: *** 1/2

The Coalition had no problem taking out CM Punk and Chase Stevens as this little feud continue to boil out of control. Needless to say this one didn't end at the bell as officials had to forcibly remove the Coalition from the ring.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. X pinned Christopher Daniels with the Spear in 0:05:37.
Rating: *** 3/4

Once again Mr. X continues to be a thorn in Christopher Daniels side as Daniels loses another to the masked menace. Mr. X did say if Daniels ever defeated him in the ring he would remove his mask. At this rate Mr. X has nothing to worry about.

[Scott D'Amore interfered against Lex Lovett.]

Lex Lovett made his MCPW debut and what a showing it was. Defeating McGuinness and almost winning the Battle Royal. It came down to former tag team partners Takemura and Homicide and this one was a great one. Homicide was able to get the pin and a shot at the TV title.

Christian Coalition (AJ Styles and Christian Cage) defeated
Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe when Cage pinned Lesnar after a powerslam in 0:21:43
Rating: ****

Needless to say the crowd was up for this one and no one disappointed as these four powerhouses went at each other. Both sides got near falls and aster 20 minutes we thought it would be called a time limit draw but to everyone surprise the ref called of the bell and let this one continue. Styles had dropped kicked Joe off the top rope and Cage hit Lesnar not once but three times with a top rope elbow befor hitting a powerslam to pick up the huge win going into next week, Styles and Cage quickly slid out the ring and headed to the back Cage holding the MCPW title high as Joe and Lesnar could do nothing but look on.

If Homicide won the battle royal, shouldn't he get the TV title shot, and not Styles?
lazy duckPosted on 10/13/07 at 02:26:37

Homicide will get a shot at a later date. Styles is getting a shot because of the attack last week and the history between them. Most likely Homicide will get the winner.
