GLWF Action TV: 2/25/06...

mamushiPosted on 10/08/07 at 04:09:41

Well, GCW might not be coming back but I've decided to try and keep GLWF going.  We'll see if it lasts, but I haven't been able to really start anything new for a while so I figured might as well try and keep this puppy going

[hr]

Welcome fans to another great addition of GLWF Action TV!  Tonight we've got three matches lined up including a Heavyweight title defense from Samoa Joe and we'll also be hearing from Alex Shelley who has been none too happy with one Mr. Kennedy these past few weeks.  Lets get down to the ring... wait... I'm being told there is a commotion outside Joel Gertner's office!

We cut to the back where we see the teams High Impact (Tony Santorelli & Mike Taylor), Team No Fear (Tank Toland & Eric Young) and Mr. Kennedy * GLWF TV Champion Petey Williams who two weeks ago decided to try and join forces for tag gold and thats exactly what these three teams were arguing about tonight.  Which one of them were the rightful number one contenders for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles held by Hector Garza & Mistico of Los Corazones Negros.  At first they were using indoor voices like good little children, but it didn't take long for things to progress into a 6-man all out brawl.  Joel Gertner was none to happy to open his office door to find a street fight.  He tried to gain control and eventually security and staff from the back broke up the melee.  Joel Gertner told the three teams that if they all wanted to be the number one contenders so bad then fine.  They were ALL the number one contenders!  Next week in the main event we're going to have the Great Lakes Tag Team titles on the line in a four corners match!

Ron Killings vs. Delirious

Delirious opened up fast and furious on Killings and took him by surprise.  Delirious has been impressive and shown he has great ability despite his... ummm... lets say "odd" nature, but has come up just a little too short a lot since his debut.  Tonight seemed like it might be a little different, that was until Delirious went for a flying dropkick and only hit air thanks to some quick thinking from Killings.  Killings hit a big powerslam and followed it with an ax kick for a quick pin on a stunned Delirious.

Ron Killings pinned Delirious after an ax kick in 0:05:33.

"Hussamania" Jimmy Jacobs vs. "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree (w/ Ernest Miller)

Jimmy Jacobs hasn't been back that long after being out for most of last year with a neck injury he suffered at the hands of the man he would face tonight.  He surprised everyone with his return and then went on to defeat Dupree's partner in crime Ernest Miller two weeks ago and was attacked from behind by Dupree after his victory.  Tonight Jacobs would finally be across from the man who put him on the shelf.  He may not be quite the same Jimmy Jacobs thanks to some lasting head trauma, but a red and yellow clad Hussamaniac Jimmy Jacobs has shown that he can ge tthe job done just as well... maybe even better than a Barbaric Berserker Jimmy Jacobs.  Jimmy Jacobs was hot tonight.  Dupree had a hard time getting the upper hand and wasn't able to keep it for terribly long when he did.  Jacobs looked to have the match sealed up, but a dazed Dupree pulled the referee in front of a Jacobs Axe Bomber.  Jacobs tried to revive the ref and Dupree took a breather.  Miller got into the ring with the French flag and clocked Jacobs, who turned around and stumbled right into a Hotshot from Dupree.  The French Phenom covered Jacobs and a dazed ref made a slow three count, but Jacobs was seeing too many stars to kick out.

[Ernest Miller interfered against Jimmy Jacobs.]

After the match Dupree and Miller celebrate their win together.  But Jacobs is starting to stir.  They don't notice Jacobs moving until he's on his feet.  They are a little shocked to see Jacobs up and wagging his finger at them.  Punch from Miller, Blocked and answer!  Punch from Dupree, blocked and answered!  Another one for each!  Dupree pushes Miller into Jacobs.   Jacobs whips him into the ropes and follows in with an axe bomber tumbling Miller to the floor!  Dupree comes and attacks from behind... but no!  Jacobs is hulking up!  Dupree can't believe!  Right after right and Jacobs is just hulking up even more!  And there it is!  The point!  Jacobs whips Dupree into the ropes... big boot!  Jacobs now into the ropes himself... BIG LEG DROP!  Jacobs does some trademark Hogan poses for the crowd to celebrate.

Alex Shelley comes out to the ring without the smile that he usually has on his face since his return to GLWF.  He gets right down to business and that business is Ken Kennedy.  He says that Kennedy has been a thorn in his side for several weeks now and Shelley is getting sick of it.  If Mr. Kennedy wants to play that game then fine, but Shelley still remembers all his old tricks and reminds Kennedy that what goes around comes around.

Main Event for the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title: Nigel McGuinness vs. Samoa Joe (c) (w/Traci Brooks)

Samoa Joe and Nigel McGuinness are no strangers.  They've crossed paths before back in September where McGuinness came out on top, sure with help from Michael Shane and Chris Masters, but a win is a win in his book and he did do an incredible job of holding his own during the match.  This however, was a different Samoa Joe than he had faced 5 months and while he saw the transformation first hand, he hadn't been in a match with the new Joe.  It took Nigel a little while to adjust, but he did manage once again to hold his own technically and countered Joe power with a few underhanded tactics to level the playing field.  Nigel tried to use the iron towards the end but Joe ducked the shot and snatched it away from him.  He gave it one look and tossed it out of the ring, knowing that he didn't need it.  Nigel raked the eyes and quickly went to the top rope.  He jumped off with a flying cross body block, but Joe caught him, put him up on his shoulder and brought him crashing to the mat with the Island Driver, which was enough for the three and probably a little more.

(Samoa Joe retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)

Another night of GLWF Action TV has come to a close.  We hope you enjoyed it and we hope you'll enjoy next week as well.  We already know what the main event will be as Mr. Kennedy & TV Champion Petey Williams, High Impact, Team No Fear and the champions Los Corazones Negros face off in a four corners match for tag team gold, but we'll also see Josh Abercrombie in action against Sonny Siaki and Joel Gertner and Samoa Joe will make a special announcement regarding the finding of a new number one contender for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title!  We'll see you then everybody.

Why not rename GLWF to The New GCW?
mamushiPosted on 10/11/07 at 01:21:15
