Show #1; Once Upon A Time Report

Zinn Tobin
"Wrestling fans it's just a few hours after WTF's first annual event Once Upon A Time and what a night it was to BE a wrestling fan! For this opening night, the small recreation center was home for about 500 eager fans hoping WTF would live up to its hype! Tonight fans were treated with some extraordinary wrestling, some phenomenal athletes, and a night that will go down in the TNM history books!"

"Let's get right into the review!"

Rating: ** ¾

Zinn Tobin:
"The fans didn't take much of a liking to Gibson's personality and Anderson's cockiness. With the fans solely behind LAX in the ass kicking, it was the Border Toss onto Anderson that got the victory! Following the match Homicide got on the microphone and said this was just a taste of what will happen to anyone who gets in their way... of course, it was laced with profanities and expletives deleted but I won't get specific... it's not my style...

Zinn Tobin:
"As you would expect, Burchill hit the ring in full pirate garb and the fans were loving it. Jim Powers, even as he is aging, is still tremendously strong. The fans didn't give him much of a warm welcome and well, he couldn't really understand why. But by the end of the match they were under his skin and he was distracted long enough for Burchill to mount a comeback and get the win!"

*INTERVIEW WITH THE GENIUS*

Zinn Tobin:
"The Genius came to the ring next and the fans threw garbage at him. He had his scroll, his cap, and his gown. He had a poem written about the show and he introduced a couple of guys who he said would dominate WTF. He introduced KENTA & Marufuji!"

Zinn Tobin:
"Wow! Spike Dudley was a shock for this show! I didn't know he was going to be here. He teams with the brightly colored El Alebrije who's style matched that of KENTA & Marufuji's well. The Genius's tag team worked well together though and they looked impressive and they were victorious. The Genius raised their hands in the ring after the match with a huge smile on his face."

Sylvester Terkay made Glacier submit to the Overhead Chickenwing Hold in 0:02:43.
Rating: ***

Zinn Tobin:
"Well... if there was ever any doubt in the ability or the strength of Terkay, he just proved those naysayers wrong! Sure his opponents weren't top notch, but still. Three in a row? In under 6 minutes TOTAL?! First out was Arachnaman who apparently thinks he's the next big super hero. He got destroyed. Then P.N. News came out rapping to the fans only get tapped out. Then Glacier came to out... and his entrance alone was probably 10 minutes of him kicking and posing complete with smoke and glitter. Well, he did manage to land some kicks and some palm strikes on Terkay, but he too was eventually submitted. Terkay is a MONSTER!

Rating: 3/4*

Zinn Tobin:
"Scott Hall definitely doesn't look the way he used to. He's put on a significant amount of weight and anyone could tell he was sluggish in the ring. Trevor Murdoch looked good, though, and he held nothing back as he took the fight right to Hall. Hall showed a lot of heart as he tried to hang in there even kicking out of Murdoch's Top-Rope Bulldog but it was a quick small package by Murdoch that ended the match. Murdoch left with his hands high and pleased with himself as Hall left with his arms to his side and his head down. He couldn't even look at the fans who were applauding his efforts despite him losing."

Rating: **** 1/4

Zinn Tobin:
"Our main event of the evening put two tremendous competitors across the ring from another. Each has expressed great respect for one another but once they got in the ring they let it all hang out! As the clock ticked away the fans edged closer and closer to the end of their seat until there was no more room and they had to stand. The time-limit expired and despite the chants for five more minutes, referee Jeff Gottschalk HIMSELF couldn't continue for five more minutes. The fans stood and applauded and Richards and Scorpio shook hands before leaving."

Everyone was buzzing about a possible rematch between Richards and Scorpio! And after the complete domination that Sylvester Terkay displayed who has the guts to get in the ring with him next, what plans does The Genius have for his tag team of KENTA & Marufuji, and will Scott Hall ever return to his true form that he once was? We have exactly one month before our next show and EVERYTHING is up in the air! I'll be sure to report breaking news as we find out more info on the upcoming event!"

I really enjoyed your first card.  You have an oddity of a roster which I'm always for.

First match is four guys that I'm all fans of.  Glad to see LAX get the victory though and I'm interested to see how all four men will evolve as time goes along.

Birchill over Powers is understandable.  I've never been all that impressed with Burchill as some but whatever works.  The Genius rules it and brings in the great tag team of KENTA and Marufuji.  KENTA/Marufuji vs. LAX will be quite the battle if/when they go at it.

Glacier!  PN News!  Arachnaman!  They all fall to Terkay.  Interesting to see that crazy cast.  :)

Murdoch is one of my favorite guys in wrestling since I was such a big fan of his father and he works well.  Anyone Harley Race trains has gotta be pretty good.  I've always liked Hall and I like the fact that you're bringing in guys over the hill, I enjoy that idea.  Murdoch getting the victory is a good rub, even in Hall's condition.

The main event features two of the most under-rated wrestlers maybe ever.  Too Cold is IMO a top 15-20 worker of all-time in terms of athletic ability and "it" in the ring.  I've never watched a Too Cold match that didn't keep me half-entertained.  Glad to see them go Broadway and the star rating is to be expected.

Nice first card, I'll be following!

Thanks for reading. Based on some of your comments I'll think you'll enjoy this little group.

The next few cards will see a couple of developments that I think you'll like.

Oh, and about Burchill, it's the pirate thing that's most appealing. Ha ha, I knew I could have fun with him.

i agree with the previous posts...very interesting fed and roster, but i told you that before....i do like your style of presenting news and results...good stuff
VertigoPosted on 10/10/07 at 18:09:27

I really need to get my PC back together so I can continue this... (only 1 show deep, sheesh!) Unfortunatly, with this hiatus, I have given WWE time to steal one of my storylines... but nothing that can't be rewritten.
