A full investigation is underway to determine who is responsible. But, the show will go on. Raw Opening Credits Randy Savage pinned Arn Anderson with the Flying Elbowdrop in 0:08:05. Rating: *** 1/4 COMMERCIAL BREAK Office: Mick Foley enters. He asks Sammartino if he can be involved in the McMahon investigation. To get rid of him, Bruno agrees. Victoria pinned Stacy Keibler with the Widow's Peak in 0:05:08. Rating: 3/4* Backstage: Mick Foley is talking to Kevin Nash if he put someone up to attacking Linda. Nash denies any involvement. Smackdown highlights air COMMERCIAL BREAK Locker room: Kurt Angle is complaining about his loss to Ken Shamrock at Summerslam. Chris Jericho is in the locker room and tells Angle to shut up. Angle gets upset and tells Jericho to meet him in the ring later tonight. Barry Windham pinned Tatanka with the Superplex in 0:09:41. Rating: *** 1/2 Office: Bruno Sammartino is asking if Nash is ready to surrender the title shot contract. He refuses so Sammartino honors McMahon's decision and suspends Nash for 30 days. COMMERCIAL BREAK Backstage: Maria interviews Masters & Orton with Bobby Heenan about their full time return to the WWF. Footage of Masters & Orton's success in the MWF is shown Masters/Orton (Chris Masters and Randy Orton) defeated Owen Hart and Rick Martel when R. Orton pinned Martel with the RKO in 0:11:09. Rating: **** 1/4 [Stevie Ray interfered against Rick Martel.] During the match: Harlem Heat interfere, causing Martel & Hart to lose. COMMERCIAL BREAK Office: Mean Gene Okerlund talks to Bruno Sammartino asking him if he will share what the good news was he mentioned on Smackdown that upset Vince & Shane McMahon. Sammartino reveals they discovered that Andre the Giant's legal trouble was caused by Vince McMahon failing to do some paperwork for Andre to continue performing in the U.S. Bruno is making a match with Andre and Big Boss Man taking on the Corporation at Unforgiven on the 16th. The Rock pinned Nailz with the Rock Bottom in 0:06:07. Rating: -** 1/4 After the match: The Rock announces now he has his guaranteed title shot back, he is only going to wrestle Championship quality opponents. Office: Roddy Piper enters and asks Bruno if he will make the announcement now. Bruno agrees and announces The Undertaker will defend the Heavyweight title against Roddy Piper at Unforgiven. Locker room: The Undertaker is seen watching the announcement on a monitor. In a mirror, it appears someone is standing behind him. He turns around but no one is there. COMMERCIAL BREAK Backstage: Mick Foley is watching footage of the McMahon attack. He tells someone off camera he is no longer a suspect as it is clear it isn't him under the mask. The camera zooms out to reveal The Big Show shaking his head. Number-One-Contenders-Match: Sabu pinned X Pac with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:09:46. Sabu injured his left knee. He will be out for approximately 4 weeks. Rating: ** Unforgiven promo airs COMMERCIAL BREAK Office: Mick Foley enters and asks if he can bring in a couple of junior detectives to help him solve the case. Bruno tells him to do what he wants. Rating: *** 1/4 [Davey Boy Smith interfered against Dynamite Kid.] Locker room: The Hardy Boys enter and ask Mick Foley why he wanted to see them. Mick hands over his casebook on the McMahon attack. He tells them to have at it while he takes a nap. Jeff asks what exactly their suppose to do with it, Mick laughs and says come on, you are the Hardy Boys. Matt tells him their not those Hardy Boys. Mick apologizes and tells them so their time is not wasted he'll see if he can arrange for them to have a match later. COMMERCIAL BREAK Dave Taylor pinned Steve Austin after a Samoan Drop in 0:08:12. Rating: ** Unforgiven promo airs Office: Bruno Sammartino announces later in the show there will be a 10 man battle royal to determine Sting's opponent at Unforgiven. COMMERCIAL BREAK Office: Mick Foley enters to ask Bruno Sammartino to arrange a match for The Hardys tonight. Sammartino agrees. Ric Flair defeated Jesse James when Jesse James passed out in the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:08:30. Rating: *** 3/4 Office: Shawn Michaels is talking with Sammartino about being excluded from tonight's battle royal. Sammartino informs him he thinks Sting should have a different opponent than the one he just beat for the title. COMMERCIAL BREAK Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy defeated The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) when M. Hardy pinned R. Steiner with the Twist of Fate in 0:12:49. Rating: *** [Booker T interfered against Rick Steiner.] COMMERCIAL BREAK Backstage: Maria interviews Harlem Heat on why they attacked the Steiners. Harlem Heat declares they are the best tag team in the WWF and will destroy every team on the roster until they get to the top. Locker room: Shawn Michaels is upset with Sammartino's decision to exclude him from tonight's battle royal. He gives his best wishes to Triple H & Scott Hall. Triple H & Hall agree that it's every man for himself tonight. Jeff Jarrett pinned Rob Van Dam with the Stroke in 0:09:45.
