Global Wrestling Revolution Saturday Night 8-11-07

JustinPosted on 08/13/07 at 01:55:28

The show opens with a video set to "What If" by Creed. It is a little like the old Raw opening, just showing the talent in street clothes as they head towards eachother. Then a huge brawl erupts between them as pyro goes off & the announcers start their duties.
Announcer #1: Ladies & gentlemen, welcome to the debut edition of Global Wrestling Revolution Saturday Night! I am Kevin Kelly & joining me here at ringside my broadcast partner: Bill DeMott.
DeMott: Let me be the first to say, that it feels so good to beack on television once again & thank you for tuning in tonight to what has the makings of a truly historic event. This is a show for everyone that is sick to death of what the people up North call "Sports Entertainment", because unlike Raw, SmackDown, and the watered down crap that's being called ECW; in GWR, we actually wrestle. So let's get down to business & head to the ring for our first ever match here and let the Global Wrestling Revolution begin!

BLKOUT (Ruckus & Sabian) vs The Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas)

The crowd was up for seeing former NWA World Tag Team Champions: Stevens & Douglas but quickly turned against them thanks to their underhanded tactics. But not to be out done by cheating, Ruckus & Sabian broke out some high flying offense that has given them recognition along the East Coast. In the end, The Naturals experience proved to be too much as they hit Sabian with the Natural Selection & picked up the win much to disappointment of the fans.

The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) defeated BLKOUT (Ruckus and Sabian) when A. Douglas pinned Sabian with the
Natural Selection in 0:18:48.
Rating: ** 1/4

As DeMott & Kelly put over the opening match, the particpants for the next match head to the ring & ring announcer: Larry Philips makes the introductions.
LP: Ladies & gentlemen this next contest is scheduled for one fall with a 20 minute time limit. (a hip hop beat plays as Philips continues) Introducing first from New Orleans, Louisiana weighing in at 276 pounds & accompanied to the ring by Jazz: "The Bad Dogg" Rodney Mack!
The crowd recognize Mack & Jazz and let them hear their displeasure until they hear the familiar sound of static followed by what sounds to be a soundtrack from an adult film. Larry Philips immediately announces the ponytailed man dressed in a red & black leather vest . "His opponent: from Minneapolis, MN, weighing 278 pounds.... he is a founding member of the New World Order.... SCOTT HALL! (the crowd erupts for the perenial favorite)

Scott Hall vs Rodney Mack (w/ Jazz)

This match wasn't pretty and neither man's feet seemed to ever leave the ground, but, the 2 experienced brawlers showed the crowd a traditional old school fight. Mack would not go down without a fight, even managing to kick out after Hall's Outsider Edge at one point. Mack's downfall came however when the former protege of Junkyard Dog decided to take a risk & go to the top rope. Hall caught him on teh top turnbuckle & delivered a second Outsider Edge to gain the pinfall.

Scott Hall pinned Rodney Mack with the Outsider Edge in 0:16:10.
Rating: * 3/4

After the match;  Hall got on the microphone to deliver one of his most famous lines:
SH: Hey yo! Chalk another one up for THE BAD GUY! (the crowd erupts)
Before Philips can introduce the next match, a Middle Eastern chant plays in the arena. A familiar looking man wearing a white Arabic headdress steps from the back & comes to the ring to a . He takes the mic from Philips & chases him from the ring.
Man: For theose of you that my not remember; my name is Muhammad Hassan! I was once involved in one of the most widely covered angles in recent history. And then suddenly, titles were kept off of me, I was removed from 2 internationally broadcast programs & I was subsequently fired due to fear, prejudice, and politics. Now, here in the GWR, there will be nothing to stop me from reaching the top, at all costs. There is no man that can stand up to the punishment that I am about to unleash. That is because I have the one thing that makes me more dangerous than any other man in the world: a brain.
Suddenly, a somewhat familiar guitar riff plays and from backstage steps a man that is recognized the world over as "The World's Most Dangerous Man": Ken Shamrock! Shamrock steps into the ring with a microphone of his own as Hassan stares him down.
KS: So you think that space between your ears is what makes you dangerous? Well maybe it wasn't politcs that kept you away from titles. Maybe it was because you just sucked. If you think you're so dangerous why don't you put your money where your mouth is and face me later tonight? (The crowd roars its approval)
MH: (looking flustered) Shamrock, I've gone toe to toe with guys like Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, and The Undertaker on my way to being called the most controversial man in wrestling. Do you really think I'm intimidated by you?
KS: You better be. Because I've stood toe to toe with tougher men & made them tap. And I'll have no problem breaking you later tonight.
Shamrock drops the mic & walks away. Hassan looks as if he is about to attack, but, just as he makes a move, Shamrock turns back to face him & Hassan thinks the better of it.

Delirious vs Adam Flash

Two of the East Coast independent's hottest stars locked up for what is believed the first time and electrified the fans with alot of back & forth high flying, high risk & hard hitting offense. Even though in the opening minutes, the crowd didn't exactly warm up to either man, it was Delirious' antics that eventually got them on his side. And when the action spilled outside the ring, the match started to resemble a hardcore match rather than the traditional rules match it started out to be. Flash managed to either block or just fight out of the Cobra Stretch twice, but, it was the third time that proved too much for the former MCW Heavyweight Champion as he tapped out allowing Delirious to celebrate with the fans after the bell sounded
.
Delirious made Adam Flash submit to the Cobra Stretch in 0:15:32.
Rating: *** 1/2

Bill DeMott, while impressed by the last match, hyped the next one to the tv audience & Kevin Kelly.
BD: Kevin Kelly, that match had to be one of the most hard hitting I've seen in awhile, but, this next one may just put it to shame. I mean up next we have a match between to ECW originals. I mean, first you've got Justin Credible... a former ECW Tag Team & former ECW World Heavyweight Champion. And then we've got Danny Doring... 1/2 of the last team to hold the ECW Tag Team Title. I'm sure that these 2 must have some kind of score to settle.

Danny Doring vs Justin Credible

This match started just as Bill DeMott thought, with traditional ECW style violence. Justin Credible was swinging chairs at Doring from nearly the opening bell. Doring retalliated in kind, but, chairs weren't the only things that these 2 were about to use. Once the action spilled from teh ring, Credible got his hands on a roadsign, which he used both outside & back in the ring. When it came to actually wrestling, it seemed as though Doring had a counter for whatever Credible could throw at him; blocking That's Incredible, reversing holds & suplexes into near falls, and even momentarily outbrawling the former "Hardcore Icon". The end came when the action once again left the confines of the ring & both men brawled all over ringside & into the fans, unable to answer the referee's count.

Justin Credible and Danny Doring battled to a double countout in 0:13:52.
Rating: * 1/2

As officials tried to seperate Credible & Doring, another ECW original: Axl Rotten made his way to the ring carrying his trademark chair.
AR: You know, after seeing the last 2 matches, I have to admit that I kinda long for the old days. Back when men were men & the matches were hardcore to the bone. So what I'm gonna do right now is lay out an old fashioned "open challenge" to whoever thinks they have what it takes to kick my ass in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Come on boys, I know somebody back there must have some balls!
Disturbed's "Enemy" plays throughout the arena as the former 4 time XPW King Of The Deathmatch Champion: "The Human Horror Film" Supreme steps from the back carrying a chair of his own.

No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Axl Rotten vs Supreme

For the third straight match, the crowd was treated to an old school, hardcore fight. With the reputaions of both men well known, the fans were chanting early on for blood to be spilled. And not one to disappoint, Axl not only busted open his opponent but after a hard whip into the ring post, was bleeding steadily himself. Although not as long as the previous matches, all the violence that was expected was delivered by the bucketfull. The match finally came to an abrupt end when Axl caught Supreme by suprise in the ring & hit the Severe Skull Trauma for the win.

Axl Rotten pinned Supreme with the Severe Skull Trauma in 0:08:40.

KK: Bill, I've just been informed that next week, GWR will be holding an 8 team tournament to crown the first ever Global Wrestling Revolution World Tag Team Champions.
BD: Well Kevin, you can bet that everyone's gonna want to be a part of that and that they're all lining up in the back to make sure that their team is on the list. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that the 2 teams in this next match are already to go for that gold next week.

The Headbangers (Mosh & Thrasher) vs Los Pochos Guapos (Kaos & Aaron Aguilera)

The crowd was still pretty pumped up from the last few matches & with the arrival of the familiar team of Mosh & Thrasher, they stayed hyped up & into the show. But the younger team from MTV's failed WSX project proved to be too much for the grizzled veterans. The cocky young duo shared back & forth action with The Headbangers, but, thanks to their double teaming & The Headbangers nagging injuries from over the years was enough for them to pick up the victory.

Los Pochos Guapos (Aaron Aguilera and Kaos) defeated The Headbangers (Mosh and Thrasher) when Kaos pinned Thrasher with the Kaostrify
in 0:16:17.
Rating: * 3/4

The cameras cut backstage to show Axl Rotten & Supreme picking up where there match left off by brawling throughout the hallways as officials scramble to break them up.

Maven vs Vampiro

In another match of youth vs experience, former WWF/E Hardcore Champion & VH1 Surreal Life star: Maven took on long time ring war veteran: Vampiro. The former WSX, & WCW Tag Champion would prove to be one of the biggest tests for the first ever Tough Enough winner. But it looked like the young man that had once had matches with the lieks of Booker T, The Undertaker, & Triple H was more than up to the task of facing the demented Vampiro as he cleanly outwrestled his bigger foe & eventually hit a Missile Dropkick to pick up what has to be concidered another upset in the young man's career.

Maven pinned Vampiro with the Missile Dropkick in 0:10:03.
Rating: ** 1/2

The crowd in the arena & at home are shown the confrontation between Muhammad Hassan & Ken Shamrock from earlier tonight, which lead up to our main event.

Ken Shamrock vs Muhammad Hassan

Even after his long layoff, Hassan still looked to be in good shape & ready for action against the former UFC & WWE Intercontinetal Champion. With both men basically equals in strength, it came down to Shamrock's extensive wrestling background to take control over Hassan's cheating ways. But that didn't keep the "Middle Eastern Madman" at bay for long. Hassan took over & showed off his wrestling knowledge and held off Shamrock's onslaught. But in the end it would be Shamrock's well known temper that would take over & help him get in "the zone". While there, Shamrock's pain threshold rose to a new level & allowed him to withstand everything Hassan had to throw at him (including a chairshot). Then it was just a matter of time before Shamrock locked in his famous Ankle Lock for the win. But, to his credit, Hassan refused to submit, & eventually passed out from the pain forcing the referee to stop the match.

Ken Shamrock defeated Muhammad Hassan when Muhammad Hassan passed out in the Ankle Lock Submission in 0:10:39.

Nice to see the Naturals take the first ever matchup.  It will be interesting to see where they will end up in next week's tag team tourney.

Hall vs ReddDogg Rodney mack!!! Hey, yo, nicely done!

Shammy and Hassan... hmm could be interesting.

Delirious vs Adam Flash

I don't know much about either of these two, but they could be the young upstarts for you that every circuit needs.

Danny Doring vs Justin Credible
ECDUB ECDUB!!!  Nothing like a good ol' countout between two ECW guys.

No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Axl Rotten vs Supreme

Axl losing has to be an upset of sorts and should see a pretty entertaining hardcore rematch at some point.

The Headbangers (Mosh & Thrasher) vs Los Pochos Guapos (Kaos & Aaron Aguilera)

Hardkore Kidd is still chasing after Fluffy!!! And somehow gets the win.  Nice to see the Headbangers in action

nice segment there

Maven vs Vampiro

Vampiro can't be too happy with Maven.

Ken Shamrock vs Muhammad Hassan

Nice to see Hassan not being a quitter to Shamrock.  This could be a huge feud for GWR.
