Backstage: Mr. McMahon is shown arriving. [br] Mean Gene Okerlund stops him to have a word about the events of last week. [br] Mr. McMahon is steamed that it was brought up and tells Mean Gene he has an announcement for Jericho tonight. RAW OPENING CREDITS The Ultimate Warrior pinned Jesse James after an enzuilariato in 0:06:51. Rating: ** COMMERCIAL BREAK Summerslam promo airs Lita pinned Michelle McCool after a rana in 0:06:05. Rating: 1/2* Ringside: Jim Ross addresses the audience. [br] As Jim speaks, footage from the 7-2 airing of Raw is shown in which Andre the Giant was taken into custody for an expired work visa. Jim Ross: Ladies and Gentleman as you remember a few weeks ago, Andre the Giant's legal status in the United States was brought into question. [br] We've been trying to get an update for you, but have had no luck. [br] We do know he's being held at a detention center in Georgia. We have tried and failed to arrange to speak on air with Andre, but there was a guard at the detention center who was willing to speak with us briefly. [br] I believe his name is Ray Traylor, good evening Ray. Ray: Good evening, but please I prefer to be called by my nickname Big Bossman. Jim Ross: Alright Bossman, can you tell us how Andre is doing? Big Bossman: He's doing as well as can be expected. Of course he's surprised by all of this and he believes once the matter is cleared up and he is free, he'll be able to find out why this happened and deal with whomever is responsible. Jim Ross: He believes he is wrongly accused and was in all likelihood set up? Big Bossman: Yes, of course. We've become friends here and I believe him that it is a misunderstanding. Jim Ross: You have become friends with Andre during his time in there you said? Big Bossman: Yeah. I have a lot of respect for these wrestlers. I always wanted to be a wrestler myself, but being a prison guard is the career path I ended up taking. Jim Ross: Well, we thank you for your time tonight and hope you'll send Andre our best. SMACKDOWN OPENING CREDITS Aisle way: Nailz and Mick Foley are fighting on their way to the ring. No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Mick Foley pinned Nailz after a back suplex in 0:10:35. Rating: DUD (Mick Foley retained the MWF Hardcore Championship.) COMMERCIAL BREAK Summerslam promo airs Honky Tonk Man and Jeff Jarrett defeated The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) when Jarrett pinned Hawk after a side suplex in 0:11:09. COMMERICAL BREAK Rick Martel made Kurt Angle submit to the Quebec Crab in 0:10:41. Rating: **** 1/4 [Ken Shamrock interfered against Kurt Angle.] After the match: Ken Shamrock puts Kurt Angle in the Ankle Lock. [br] Official break it up and Angle manages to get to Shamrock putting him in the Ankle lock. [br] Once officials manage to seperate them for good, Angle leaves the ring and picks up a microphone. [br] He challenges Shamrock to an Ankle Lock Submission match at Summerslam and Shamrock accepts. COMMERCIAL BREAK Rob Van Dam defeated X Pac by countout in 0:11:09. During the match: When RVD started to dominate and have a shot at the win, X Pac left the ring and walked away resulting in the countout. Backstage: The Rock and The Steiner Brothers are shown getting ready. COMMERCIAL BREAK The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) and The Rock defeated Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Triple H when The Rock pinned S. Michaels with the Rock Bottom in 0:20:05. [br] Ventura refuses to apologize for his statements. [br] Mr. McMahon tells him he is then going to have a match right now with Big John Studd. Big John Studd pinned Jesse Ventura with the Backbreaker in 0:07:13. Rating: * After the match: As Studd and Mr. McMahon celebrate, Linda McMahon comes out. Linda McMahon: Vince, the board and I are not pleased with you and your recent behavior. Really, not just you but quite a few people. [br] For starters, we believe Jericho would have won last week's match if not for you. Therefore, we're overuling you Vince. Chris Jericho will face The Undertaker for the title at Summerslam. And to make sure there is no interference, it will take place inside of a steel cage. [br] But, we don't want to be unreasonable. So Randy Savage will get his title shot tonight with The Corporation banned from ringside. [br] I also want to announce we've begun searching for a Commishioner and will begin conducting interviews soon. [br] There are also some other individuals I need to address. Other cliques we have here in the WWF who will be dealt with in the near future. COMMERCIAL BREAK Backstage: Maria interviews Linda McMahon, who reveals she will be sticking around until a Commishioner is found and will have some Summerslam announcements Monday night on Raw. The Berzerker made Animal submit to the Camel Clutch in 0:10:11. Rating: -1/4* Locker room: Mr. McMahon is upset with the news of the Commishioner search. [br] Randy Savage tries to calm him down, assuring Vince he will still be in the main event of Summerslam by taking the title from Undertaker tonight. COMMERCIAL BREAK Arn Anderson and Ric Flair defeated Jesse James and Jeff Jarrett when Anderson pinned Jarrett with the Gourdbuster in 0:13:07. [Chris Jericho interfered against Randy Savage.] After the match: Jericho begins to fight with Savage, when Big John Studd comes to the ring.
